Matthew 12:36

"But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment."

What is an idle word?

If not a words that do no work ?

For Jesus said "The words that I speak are not my own words but the Father who is in me He doeth the work "

Did not the Lord say greater works shall help do also " For is not the Son in us?

The devil has words that does a work also even as it was in the beginning .

" let no corrupt communication come out of your mouth " comes to mind also for that does a work also .

So if every idle word will have to be accounted for what of those words that do works of one sort or another ?

Someone likened our words as a man taking a sackful of feathers and casting them into the wind . Once they are gone they can't be brought back .

Proverbs 15:14

"The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness."

Proverbs 15:12

"A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise."
