I feel this is such an important concept that it deserves more discussion; namely our reward going to another. This isn't like in a normal event where as Paul would state only one gets the prize ( 1 Cor. 9:24). Again for some context I am certainly not saying what Paul obviously indicates; that those who carefully buffet themselves win the prize and that it is only one (or in the implication a few) who are able to attain this; which is of course symbolic of eternal rewards fit for service in various types of ministry; sacrifice and perseverance.
Ah; just got back from cutting the lawn. This task helps me to ponder the matter; as to how often we are as Jonah the reluctant prophet. We notice in Hebrews 11 that he is NOT mentioned. I will assume he truly was saved for the example here; as many seem fixated on the concept of a person not producing fruit as being not saved and don't consider those who are not receiving reward but who are one of God's children who never get out of the diaper stage. Hearing His voice; of course is described in the Gospel of John as criteria for His children. This is evidenced by those who have occasional fits and starts of great potential as in reality all true saved individuals have. As with Jonah they need a jump start and redirection to move in God's path but they never have their whole heart in the task. This differentiates those who are always DOING something from those not obsessed with endless obligations but do a few things and do it well. God calls us to different levels of commitment with time and ministry as the need deems nececessary. But a heart fit for service "in and out of season" ( 2 Tim. 4:2) is a necessary admonition. If we don't look at the Spirit inside as the hope within us then we only care about our own souls and this is a fatal flaw to spiritual rewards. We should look to the well being; especially the spiritual maturity of others to recieve their rewards.
Just a note about fruits . " By theur fruits you shall know them " not gifts .
How do we get fruit ? Primarily from the seed that is planted . But also as another example of " abiding in the vine" for unless we stay connected to the vine we wither and die and produce no fruit .
But if we abide in Him then we will produce the fruit and then the Lord purges us to produce more fruit "
It is good to see the concern for the church for it is half asleep and in some cases blind . The last judge was blind the last king was blind and accirding to rev that in the last church age the church is blind too .
I'm not sure any man can have " complete knowledge and understanding "fir do we not see through a glass darkly . But Indo believe when we need it God will give us that wisdom that need out of His all wisdom and when we don't understand we do understand that he understands that we don't!
But consider this if you will . " My God mMy God why hast thou forsaken Me"? The Man Christ Jesus who had not sinned became Sin " the Father did not just turn his back on Him it was more awe full than that . For did not Jesus say " The Words that I speak are not my own words but the Father who is IN Me He doeth the works "? And in another place " Know you not that Zi amin the Father and The Father is in me"? In that terrible hour the Father left Him ,separated forsaken so that we who were separated from God by sin might never be separated again and so " nothing can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus ." Thus the Son of Man cried out such words . Thus prophecy and reality met .
There are things we will not understand this side of eternity but that does not mean we are left bereft but rather we look to Him which IN Him all the oromises of God are " yea and z amen" and we can come boldly into the presence of zAlmighty God and ( note) find grace and mercy in time of need " That access has been opened by God and there is no power of hell that can stop us praying .
