Many of Paul's writings are commands, not his, but from the Lord. When he had a thought that he might write or speak that was not a command he sought permission.
I agree. We should be very careful to ignore such commands as just customary for that time period. We should seek God's direction and help as to how we are to fulfill the spirit of the command.
