    There IS fear in love; but perfect love does NOT cast out fear; because LOVE hath torment. HE that loveth IS made perfect in fear. I must choose one or the other as to which is true and eternal; from the Voice for God.

    The truth is true and nothing else is true. This statement has two parts: without the first, the second has no meaning, but without the second, is the first no longer true. Truth cannot have an opposite. This can not be too often said and thought about. For if what is not true is true as well as what is true, then part of truth is false. And truth has lost its meaning. Nothing but the truth is true, and what is false is false. Truth must be true throughout, if it be true. It cannot contradict itself, nor be in parts uncertain and in others sure. What God creates has no alternative. The truth arises from what He KNOWS; not what we perceive.

    Perception has a focus.It is this that gives consistency to what we see. Change but this focus, and what we behold will change accordingly. When seeing a wholly sinless world is ALL we want to see, when this is ALL we seek for in the name of true perception, are the eyes of Christ inevitably ours. What the body's eyes see/perceive is only conflict.

    Much of our strange behavior is directly attributable to our definition of guilt; we've accepted the belief the guiltless are guilty. Love and guilt cannot coexist, and to accept one is to deny the other. Guilt hides Christ from our sight, for it is the denial of the blamelessness of God' children. Love creates Itself and nothing but Itself. To the "devil" purity is seen as arrogance and the acceptance of the self as sinful is perceived as holiness. TEACH ONLY LOVE.

    So good to see you back here, brother Fred. And in very truth, "And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light" ( Romans 13:11,12); for indeed "our redemption draweth nigh".

    Hello again, Prosperity,

    I am in harmony with these verses. I do think we are to keep the commandments Jesus has given us. We are not to lead anyone into disobeying His commands. And that His commandments are to be kept by those who love Him.

    What I was speaking to was that no one can every earn any merit towards salvation or right standing before God from obeying Him because, even when we wish to do so and fight against sin, we will still sin, which disqualifies us from being righteous on our own.

    Thankfully, Jesus is our righteousness. He has imputed to us His perfect life and had all of our sin imputed upon Him on the cross. What a scandalous exchange this is! But it wins for us a victory that is priceless and sure.

    I do think that believers should make every effort to live a life of obedience in all respects. The commandments of God tell us what God knows is truly good and right. We should want to live the way the commandments instruct us to because they are all wise and good for us to obey. We should also want to obey from the heart, not just outwardly, as the commandments speak about actions. We should want to have right motives and intentions, but above all we should do everything out of love, which Jesus said was how we fulfill His commandments. Paul instructs us to do this, too. ( Ephesians 5:2; Romans 13:8-10). Every command of God that we obey is following this way of life Jesus and Paul is telling us about.

    So, let love be our aim in all things, in thought, words, deeds; in motivations, desires, affections; and in what we choose not to do. Love is the answer to all of our obedience. And this love comes to us from God first which then we love Hi:16m and one another. 1John 4 is such a wonderful chapter to read concerning this.

    I hope you have a good evening. And feel free to respond back to me.

    I'd like to add to discussion on Matthew 5:22

    Matthew 25:31-46, is how we are to treat the "least of these" to belittle anyone is a direct offense to GOD. 1Corinthians 1:20-27, Proverbs 17:5, Romans 14:13, James 4:11, 1Corinthians 4:5, John 13:34, Romans 12:10,

    This is "brother or sister" literal & family of believers aka "brethren " because those words from "family" hurt deepest

    We're to edify Romans 13:8, 1John 4:7, Romans 14:19, 1Thessalonians 5:8-23,

    Hopefully these are helpful

    Thanks Alex. I agree with parts of your comment, but if your belief is that Jesus mass produces gods like a factory equal to the one and only God, then no, that is not what I believe or is what the Bible says. This may not be your belief at all, but it is of others I've noticed on this forum so I'll explain...

    Gen 26:4 is regarding the seed and lineage from Abraham. It's talking about people, not gods. He's giving countries to people, not gods, for example.

    If the comment is referring to 'gods' as in Psalms 82:6, Acts 7:40, notice it uses lower case 'g'. The word God is not used in the same manner as the one true God uppercase, but plural lowercase, which indicates a metaphor for His followers having characteristics of His authority. Psalm 82:1 demonstrates the difference.

    If believers can be metaphorically considered 'gods,' how much more is the One whom God has chosen and sent ( John 10:34-36)?

    Before believers start running around assuming they're deities from these few select verses (exactly what satan wants), the scripture must also be balanced with the entire context of other scripture in God's Word, such as:

    Rom 13:1-4 - calls followers the "minister of God", that all power comes from God, but all are subject to God's "higher powers".

    John 17:3

    James 4:7

    1 Peter 5:6

    Romans 13:1

    Romans 12:1-2

    etc.

    God bless

    Over the past few years, I have wrestled & The Body of Believers have, to try & find peace,encouragement & guidance during the controversial leadership roles, mandates, oppressiveness & wickedness.

    We have discussed many scriptures.

    Recently I felt a deeper encouragement & understanding I believe from Romans 13, Romans 13:3, sometimes in example of injustice repaid._._ exposed, living examples. Daniel 4, 1Samuel 13, - 1Samuel 31 = Psalms 73, 1Kings 1,

    Here are some: Psalms 37, Galatians 4:1-8, 2Chronicles 7:14,

    2Peter 2, Jude 1, 1Corinthians 6:3,

    Please note these scriptures all seem to include treatment of people : James 2, note James 2:1-6, James 2:8, * James 2:14,15,16,17,

    Matthew 25:31-46, Isaiah 58, John 13:34, Romans 12:10, Romans 13:8, 1Peter 3:8, Hebrews 10:24,

    Romans 4, notice in those 'works' it's speaking of circumcision Romans 4:1, Romans 4:9-13, not acts of compassion

    They don't contradict each other they're completely separate issues, Deuteronomy 10:16-20,

    Malachi 3:5,10 = Deuteronomy 26:10-13 , Exodus 22:22, Deuteronomy 14:22-29, Deuteronomy 24:14-15, Deuteronomy 24:19-21,

    Stuart. One other point I do not believe Romans 13: 1-8 the powers that be is

    Talking about Government because it says ordained of God. It is written in the

    Context to the church of God and those powers are apostles prophets evangelists

    Pastors and teachers for the perfecting of the saints. Also Timothy says to

    Pray for those in government that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life.

    It is not my duty to name the scripture, but copy paste works wonders.

    Yes, there will be wars is exactly the psychological war that takes place IN YOUR MIND, which in the Bible is coded as Heaven and Earth, the Body.

    "God is love but satan is evil" ? But God himself says... Isaiah 45:7

    "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things."

    and again... Romans 13:1

    "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God."

    So it appears that what we have been TOLD is not exactly true. Like so many things

    Once you search out all the Dogmas and... Matthew 15:9

    "But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men."

    Let me enlighten you, when you battle each one of your beliefs that were bred and pounded into you, and you come to the Water of Truth within yourself... You will know all the monsters John the Revelator was talking about. That is the Battle. But once the MIND is renewed, the veil comes off the heart. 2 Corinthians 3:16

    Christ in you, the hope of glory.

    Romans 13:1 - Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be ARE ordained of God.

    Jeremiah 29:7 - And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.

    Hebrews 13:17

    Obey them that have the rule over you [church Leaders] and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

    Romans 13:10-14 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

    Some preach fasting as a command because Jesus said "when, thou fastest" Matthew 6:16-21,

    Sometimes people & Church congregations fast for closeness with GOD, to feel HIS presence, & clarity on direction from GOD: Matthew 9:15, Mark 2:19,20, Luke 5:34,35, Ezra 8:21,23, Nehemiah 1:4, Nehemiah 1, (in context.), Daniel 9:2-3, 2Corinthians 6:4,5

    Fasting & prayer to help deliver people from sin, addiction, mental illness, demonic oppression, Matthew 17:21, (context) Matthew 17:14-21, Mark 9:17-29,

    1Samuel 7:3

    1Corinthians 7:3-5,

    Fasting for deliverance: 2Chronicles 20:1-30, Esther 4:3,16, in context: Esther 3:8-15, - Esther 4, Daniel 6:12-23, Joel 1:14, Joel 2:12,

    Fasting in repentance, sometimes even after GOD's judgement : 1Samuel 7:2-17, 2Samuel 12:7-23, (do you think it was easier to except it because he was fasting? While others were perplexed?) 1Kings 21, note 1Kings 21:27-29, Jonah 3:5-10, Joel 2:15,

    Also Isaiah 58,

    Jesus fasted an extreme fast: Matthew 4:2,

    When it says in: Matthew 10:8, Luke 10:9, Mark 16:17-18, can we do these things without fasting?

    I believe there are too many scriptures about power in fasting, direction, deliverance & repentance to think lightly of.

    Fasting is submission, Romans 13:7, Luke 20:25, Matthew 17:25-26,

    Hopefully these are helpful

    many meaning yet basically if you don't have the money for it don't borrow to get it. God wants us to rely on Him so pray and when He is ready for you to have it you shall in His time. If you never get it it wasn't meant to have. Our desires and Gods will collide way to often and this is when we have problems wanting for the flesh and not listening to the spirit in us. We live in the world we do not have to be of the world.! Plus, it very well could be a God teaching you something for something better. Maybe to save for things you want and not have to borrow to have to pay interest. In His time we get what we NEED in life. Another meaning can be slacking off at work (on the clock) or talking to much to a co-worker or being on your phone not work related. Stealing, coveting.. To put it short (er) If it isn't yours to begin with its wrong to have (borrow) unless given to you or having permission to have said thing. Things from neighbors; lawn mower, eggs, milk, tools, or even money ect..yes, needed things are ok yet must pay back if you say you will or if they don't say you can keep it and even if they do say keep you can pay back as your kind gesture. Does that make sense?

    Web definitions of today's English

    Emulation = definition; ambition to equal or excel others, usually by imitation. Example try to be like the other guy, Copying someone to compete with them.

    The definition for today of Sedition was changed during a time referred to as the " Elizabethan Era, carried into the US Colonies,

    Sedition = speech or conduct, causing people to rebel against governing authority.

    This meaning of Sedition became controversial after the American Independence.

    1798 new legal definitions were brought, called "alien & sedition acts" to prevent French takeover, on & on.

    Biblical in this website's concordance = sedition = division, dissention, standing appart, Romans 16:17, 1Corinthians 3:3,

    Probably more towards causing division within the body of Christ.

    Emulation = envy, jealousy, indignation,

    This website also had = envious contentious rivalry, jealousy with these verses listed : Romans 13:13, 1Corinthians 3:3, James 3:14,16, & several others noted with variance in original texts. If you'd like to break it down even more, that tool is available. If you click on the verse: Galatians 5:20, the verse page at the bottom, has every word in verse broken down, tap the words for translation & definition.

    Romans 13:14 - But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

    I think it sets us apart, as followers of Jesus; to dress modestly. To let the Light of Jesus be what attracts others to us. A prospective husband is well able to be attracted your inner beauty first.

    The four loves in the Bible:

    * Storge - empathy bond.

    * Philia - friend bond.

    * Eros - romantic love.

    * Agape - unconditional (God kind of love)

    Other types of love:

    * Philautia - Self-love.

    * Pragma - Enduring Love.

    * Ludus - Playful Love.

    * Mania - Obsessive Love

    Agapelove is the highest level of love referenced in the Bible. This form of love is everlasting and sacrificial, whether or not the giver receives the same level of love in return. In the original Greek translation of the Scriptural passage "God is love," the word agapewas specifically used to identify the type of love God embodies ( 1 John 4:8,

    1 Corinthians 13, John 21:17)

    1 Corinthians 7:25-28. It's true that this advice wasn't received from the Lord, but Paul gives this instruction to the believers (married & unmarried) in response to the "present distress" (some read it as an 'impending time of suffering'). I don't see anything wrong with an apostle giving advice concerning a situation that the Church is in, or maybe, facing, that hasn't first come from the Lord. He has every right to do so, just as the preacher today shares not only from the Word, but also his personal impressions & encouragements or warnings about events (good or bad) happening around them. This is not Paul's doctrine - it's his teaching, advice for the times they were in. And the believers could have disregarded this advice if they wished, without it being a sin; but the consequences were before them.

    In Acts 15:5-30, these were apparently a particular sect of the Pharisees & they believed in Jesus Christ. However, as with the problem with Peter (Galatians chapter 2), here too these men couldn't understand nor accept that Gentiles were not bound by the old Law & of circumcision. Therefore, the determination made by the apostles & elders remained faithful to the Law of the New Covenant in Christ. These believing Pharisees needed to be taught, as also in regards to Peter.

    With Acts 5:27-29 & Romans 13:1-7, we see two entirely different scenarios. The first, when the 'powers that be' oppose Christianity & the preaching of the Gospel, and the second, when citizens are required to follow governmental laws for the good of the country. If one should believe that we should not obey the govt that opposes the Gospel, then that belief needs to be effected in other instances, such as refusal to pay taxes, abide by road rules, etc. I doubt if there would be many that would put into practise such an thought.

    We should not pick & choose verses to support a belief, rather understand the whole counsel of God given in His Word & yes, even holding onto apostolic teaching.

    I was taught that Israel was the center of "Bible Interpretation", the World.

    I only mentioned Genesis, about blessing Israel. For more clarity we should compare Leviticus 26:14-39. If we cannot see this correction happening in our society, then we are blind.

    Worse yet we are mute. Should we be silent?

    All I know is we're being invaded from within. From other nations.

    Do you think I didn't pray about this? I did. One word was given to me: CONSTITUENTS.

    That's what each person is. It has nothing to do with Blues or Reds. It is the Haves vs the Have Nots. Our voices are Muted. Leaders are no longer listening to their constituents.

    In the Tribulation, no one will have a voice. The IRS will take our photographs IF WE EXPECT to get a tax return. To drive a car we will be fingerprinted and photographed again. Powers that be, are working on how to force people to be implanted with microchips to use our own money.

    There's a video on YouTube of them practicing on chickens, I kid you not.

    Romans 13:11

    And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of SLEEP: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

    Ephesians 5:14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that Sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee Light.

    Luke 21:34-36, And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so THAT DAY come upon you unawares.

    1 Thessalonians 5:6 - Therefore let us not SLEEP, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

    If we don't wake up real soon, to counter and confront our leaders (?) we are without excuse. We are being prepared for the slaughter, not just the unborn, but for the living unsaved. Can you shed a tear for those who are doomed? They have no clue, literally.

    Please let's find our voices?

    May These Messages Awaken Us to the Lateness of the Hour. Pray.

    I tried to respond and lost the verses. Anyway; look at Ephesians 6:17; Romans 13:4; and the earlier warnings to Pergamum for a similar response of God if repentance doesn't occur. There are other verses such as in Isaiah which prophetically speak of the sword of the Lord as it were. Basically; there is the effect on us; as the Spirit of God should pierce our hearts as Luke 2:35 states; and it is also our offensive weapon against the fiery darts of the enemy ( 1 Peter 4:12). These should be a sobering reminder; as the scripture states if we are scarcely saved; what about the ungodly (also in 1 Peter 4). There are some; as in the Corinthian church who have "fallen asleep" and who are "given over to Satan for the destruction of the body so that the soul can be saved." ( 1 Cor. 5:5).

    The Lord chastises all He loves; and they will ultimately produce fruit if they are truly saved. He is patient; but will do whatever is necessary for His plans and work in our lives to be accomplished. Truly; we are Christ's great reward for His sufferings (see Isaiah 53:11). He is given ALL authority over heaven and earth; which would be expected being a member of the Godhead. But God chose to bring Him here and to become a man suffering in all ways as we do without sin. This was God's plan and surely we all must die to ourself as the Spirit enables. Psalm 2 indicates how the world will try to break the bonds as it were of the rulership of Christ; but God has the last laugh. Surely the world will have the stone fall on them rather than falling on it.

    May we allow the pruning necessary to produce fruit. Praise God that although we were enemies of God He has reconciled us. ( Colossians 1:21). Remember that those who have taken the mark have been predestined to be reprobate as they were not written in the book of the Lamb ( Rev. 13:8).

    in Romans 13:1 it says the powers that be are ordained by God. Those powers meaning, the government. Throughout scripture, we are admonished to obey the law. From Genesis to Revelations, we are told about law and what governs our hearts and minds. This being said, If the government doesn't recognize the marriage as being legit. Then it's not in the eyes of God.
  • Local Authorities and Christians - In Reply - 4 years ago
    Romans 13:1-7 describes the responsibility for Christians to live in submission to the human authorities in government. The reason given is that every government leader has ultimately been established by God for His own purposes. Generally speaking, human government serves to rein in and punish those who do evil. Governments do this on God's behalf. Christians must pay their taxes to support this work God is doing. In addition, those in Christ owe respect and honor to the authorities that God has put in place. Other Scriptures, such as Acts 5:27-29, distinguish between ''submission'' and ''obedience.''

    Romans 13 tackles three big areas that living-sacrifice Christians must address. First, since God puts every human authority in place to serve His purposes, Christians must submit to them; this idea comes with a particular context. Second, we must love our neighbors as ourselves. Third, we are called to live as people of the light and throw off works of darkness like drunkenness, sexual immorality, and jealousy. We are to take on the armor of light against the darkness and, in fact, take on Christ Himself instead of serving our own desires.

    OK my brother lets take it from the begining

    Christians must forsake wealth. Yes and no. What Luke 14:33 says in simple wordords is that we must put away anything that becomes obstacle in our way to Heaven. That maybe wealth, a person, my own plans for life, my desires etc. IF THEY ARE OBSTACLES, IF NEEDED.

    Christians cannot work for money Not right. See Thessalonians 3:11-12, Acts 20:33-35, 2 Thessalonians 3:10 etc.

    Christians do Not pay taxes. Not right. See Romans 13:6-7

    Christians travel and trust in God for daily food. Not right. Where do you get that travel? Birds fly all the time because this is how they find food, they just not sit on a branch expecting for food to drop from heaven. the same with people, they must go and find a job and work (and God will help them), they should not sit on their bench expecting God rains money from above. Yes trust that God that will not let us down to meet our material needs.

    Christians live together 24/7. Ye and no. That was the case in the Jewish christian church, BUT it was not in the gentile churches in Thessalonika, Berea, Corinth, Ephesus...

    Christians give to the needy in secret. Thats right

    Women can be leaders in the church . Not quite. The Ancient church did not allow women to teach or preach. See 1 Timothy 2:11-12 and 1 Corinthians 14:34-35. And if somebody argues that Paul was oldfashioned like the whole world at that time, well as far as i am concerned i wouldn't dare disagree to apostle Paul.

    If you are a Christian you own nothing in this world. Not right. So far in the history of Christianity there have been the medieval gospels of poverty and nowadays gospels of prosperity. They are both wrong. The Christian is a normal balanced person. We live just like aill the other people but without sin and not forgetting that our citizeshipis is in Heaven.

    Christians are nonviolent Thats right

    Christians forgive as much as they can. Thats right. Even our enemies with the power and grace of God

    God bless u
