You are welcome. Please allow me to make myself be clear. Please read the entire chapter of John 1. John1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. When you see capital letter "W" Word in the Bible it means Jesus Christ. John 1:14. The lower case "w" word means the Bible. You cannot come to God the Father but by Jesus Christ John 14:6-7; For through him (Jesus Christ) we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Ephesians 2:18; it is a mystery Colossians 2:2-3; God gave to Jesus everything we need to know Revelation 1:1. In conclusion, There is one God the Father, one God the Son the Lord Jesus Christ, and one God The Holy Spirit. Three persons if you will, manifested from ONE GOD. Thank you so much for your question, I know how hard it is to many people understanding this concept, for I now have to be careful explaining it to you as well. Very happy for the opportunity. Glory to God.

More verses to prove Jesus is God. I will pray that you will be guided by the Holy Spirit in your journey to God. Agape.

    Amen Brother Chris.

Well stated. All these scriptures have to line up with one another. Meaning they have to make since up against scriptures such as

Isaiah 9:6. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The ( EVERLASTING ) Father, The Prince of Peace.

    Also Revelation 1:8.

"I am ( Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending,) saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty."

How does these these verses means anything but eternal? And how does the submitted contrasting scriptures interact with these everlasting verses?

    Blessings

    Brother Richard:

The REVEALING of Christ was the 3 1/2 years he was IN FLESH on the EARTH.

Revelation 1:1 ...the REVELATION (revealing) of Jesus Christ ....reveals Christ and those 3 1/2 years; fulfilling the coming of the Kingdom of God.

The seven seals are already open, the seventh seal at Pentecost. All the answers are in the scriptures of prophecy.

Daniel 12:7 An I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand, and his left hand unto heaven, and swear by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time (one year), times (2 Years) and a half 1/2 year (1+2+1/2=3 1/2 years: prophecy; Christ in flesh); when he shall accomplish to SCATTER THE POWER of the holy people (his priests) ALL THESE THINGS SHALL BE FINISHED.

John 19:30 And when Jesus had therefore received the vinegar ( Psalms 69:21), he said, IT IS FINISHED (prophecy fulfilled), and bowed his head, and gave up the ghost (the Spirit of his Father).

    God Bless You.

    Hi Joy.

    I concur with Richard.

And I would like to add to what he said concerning Ephesus. Paul gave them warning concerning the trouble coming after his departure in Acts 20:29-30.

For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

    God bless.

It would seem that absolutely; the falling away and removal of candlesticks is occurring. This is especially sobering when we see the admonition to the church in Ephesus whose only criticism from Christ Himself is that they had lost their first love ( Rev. 2:4).

Everything else they were doing doctrinally; discernment wise with false teaching etc was on par yet they still faced having their candlestick removed; and that was back before the end of the first century! (actually it says have their "lampstand" removed).

It is helpful here to see how individuals in the Book of Revelation in chapter 2 and 3 are addressed to along WITH an entire congregation. CLEARLY apostasy; i.e. falling away was characterizing the vast majority of the Sardis church; nonetheless certain individuals were said to be worthy and would walk with Him in white garments. There is a potential at least for the Laodiceans; but clearly we should guard our hearts; and walk away from apostacy if we are in a place where leadership concurs with false teaching and there is not support of others to rebuke those in authority.

1 Timothy chapter 4 talks about the falling away in the last days. Even 1 John 4:12 discusses the fact that there are already many antichrists in that first century church. The OVERALL degrading of churches that for decades or centuries held to doctrinal truths certainly shows us how soon His return must be.

God warns us in Rev. 3:11 indicates that we may lose our crown to someone else if not careful. We need to be around those who are sharpening one another as "iron sharpens iron" ( Prov. 27:17). Surely; the Lord will lead us to good fellowship; if not for any other reason that we are commanded to assemble together even more so as we see the Lord's soon coming ( Heb. 10:25 loosely translated). The remnant will be found; of course it can take some time. The question now is whether we should; as the famous song says; hold out; walk away or run.

    Be blessed. Agape.

1 Corinthians 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. ( Paul didn't say he knew it all) I really doubt anyone else does.

Revelation 1:9 I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

10 (I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day), and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,

Was in the Spirit of the Lord and writing what he was told. So many have tried but have been wrong.

Are we seeing with the church turning away from the true gospel of Christ the removal of God's candlesticks from the church? What about the 'falling away"?

    Hi Ronald,

I appreciate your respectul remarks and am ok with continuing to dialog as long as that remains.

I can offer a challenge to few of your points in your last comment.

    1. John 1:1 says, "In the beginning", God does not have a beginning.

It sounds like you are using this as evidence to support your view. I don't view it that way at all. First, this says "in the beginning" not "in God's beginning" or "in the Word's beginning". So, this phrase doesn't suggest any limitation on God whatsoever, but is just marking for us in our own human terms that Jesus was always there.

Do you remember Jesus saying this: "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last." That doesn't mean He's limited, but the opposite, it means He spans everything! Revelation 22:13 - notice the words in red that Jesus said that.

It also says this in Revelation 1:8, notice it says "says the Lord". Lord is Greek word kurios which is supreme authority or God. Some translations say "says the Lord God" and is the same meaning. This is Jesus speaking about Himself, it too is in red.

Isaiah 44:6 "Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God." - notice this is the same claim Jesus made in Revelation. If there's only one and only one who makes that claim then it seems logical that the claim in both the New and Old Testament are from the same being.

Revelation 11:17 - This uses the same word Lord (kurios) of which Jesus is Lord ( Romans 10:9) and uses the word theos (God) with it, so it calls Jesus "Lord God." Do you agree? How do you feel about this verse?

Isaiah 43:11 - "I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour." So, it says Jesus is Lord and our savior in the New Testament and there's no other Lord. Here in the OT it also says the Lord is the savior and no one else. That is all in alignment with John 10:30. Yes?

John 5:23 - we must honor Jesus.

These scriptures really apply to "Believers in Christ Jesus" & all that will believe : He was bruised for our transgressions, Isaiah 53, Psalms 22:16, Zechariah 12:10, John 19, read through the chapter to see Jesus' piercings, for us. John 3:15-21,

When we believe in Him, we become a new creation, 2Corinthians 5:17-19, therefore we try to: Ephesians 4:24, in that we offer ourselves as a living sacrifice to GOD : Romans 12:1,

Revelation 1:7, I believe the weeping & wailing will be because the amazing person Jesus is & the humble man, with His scars who did it, just for us to be with Him, in His Kingdom : Luke 23:32-48, Matthew 26:28,

Jesus sat with sinners: Matthew 9:10-13, Jesus healed, delivered, feed & accepted the people including harlots, sinners, etc. Just read the Bible & see.

    Hopefully these are helpful

    Sister Martha:

John 4:24 God is Spirit .....

Ephesians 4:4 ONE SPIRIT ...ONE BODY ...

Ephesians 4:6 ONE GOD and FATHER OF ALL .....

Man, born of woman, (FLESH), is like a Beast of the Earth, NO KNOWLEDGE.

The Holy Ghost came to GIVE MAN KNOWLEDGE.

So we can be BORN OF SPIRIT.

God IS SPIRIT, no beginning and no end.

God created a IMMORTAL BODY, and put inside that IMMORTAL BODY, HIS SPIRIT (Himself), and called that BODY, Jesus Christ, the first man, the TRUE ADAM, with no beginning and no end.

Here is a PROPHECY in Genesis:

Genesis 5:2 Male and Female created he them, and blessed them, and CALLED THEIR NAME ADAM. in the DAY they were created.

That day (of that creation), is called the DAY OF THE LORD, the day you come out of darkness into light. You come to the KNOWLEDGE that by the RESURRECTION of Christ's NEW BODY (YOU and I) and the NEW LIFE by the SPIRIT of THE FATHER: we become ADAM, Christ was the first ADAM, before the flesh and blood Adam, we are the last, ADAM, created in Christ Jesus

Revelation 1:8 ... Revelation 22:13 I AM Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.

    Ephesians 4:4 ....ONE BODY .......

There is only ONE BODY that can exist in the next age, and THAT BODY is the BODY OF CHRIST.

1 Timothy 6:16 Who only (Christ only) hath immortality, dwelling in the LIGHT ......

1 Corinthians 15:38 But God giveth IT (the new creation in Christ) a BODY as it hath pleased him, and to ever SEED HIS (God's on body), God's BODY IS JESUS CHRIST.

WE ARE THE BODY OF CHRIST, The Father (SPIRIT) being THE LIFE, of the BODY.

This NEW BIRTH happens when your body of FLESH and BLOOD DIES.

Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also predestinated to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the FIRSTBORN (Alpha) among many brethren (Omega).

    God Bless You.
  • THE ENDS OF THE EARTH - In Reply - 2 years ago
I hope this is what you were looking for. I know people say things like, "I'll love you to the ends of the earth."

I'm not sure it's the same as scriptures. This is just a little slice of a larger pool of scripture. You might enjoy learning how to use the SEARCH ENGINE out on the red page where you come into this website.

Even just remembering a part of a scripture, it will do its best to find everything with that hint.

    Acts 13:47

For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ENDS OF THE EARTH.

    Romans 10:18

But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.

    1 Corinthians 10:11

Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

    2 Peter 3:7

But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto FIRE against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

    Revelation 1:7

Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

    Revelation 5:3

And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.

    Mark 16:15

And he said unto them, Go ye into ALL of the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

    Sister Suze:

You are very knowledgeable in the scriptures, and you didn't get there by not understanding that a great deal of scriptures are symbolised or signified.

Revelation 1:1 .....and SIGNIFIED IT ......

Revelation 12:i And there appeared a great wonder in heaven .....

Is heaven the physical, OR, signified? the word says it's signified.

The woman also is signified, being Christ's church, or his bride.

The wonder IN HEAVEN is a woman, the church, the bride of Christ, YOU ARE HEAVEN, the abode of GOD and Christ at his right hand.

Revelation 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder IN SUZE; SUZE clothed with the SUN (the Father abiding in SUZE, and the MOON (Christ, the faithful witness IN HEAVEN) under SUZE'S feet, and upon SUZE'S head a crown of twelve stars (an innumerable company of angels, ministering spirits).

Psalms 84:11 The LORD God is a SUN (signified) and shield: the LORD (the sun) will give GRACE and GLORY: no good thing will he (the sun) withhold from them (SUZE) that walk uprightly.

Psalms 121:6 The SUN (the Father) shall not smite thee by day, nor the MOON (Christ, the faithful witness in heaven) by night.

Psalms 89:35 Once have I (the Father) sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.

Psalms 89:36 HIS SEED (CHRIST'S SEED)(SUZE the SEED) shall endure forever, and his (Christ's) throne as the SUN (the Father) before me (Christ).

Psalms 89:37 It (Christ's throne, SUZE the throne, set in heaven) shall be established forever as the MOON (Christ), as my faithful witness IN HEAVEN (IN SUZE).

Revelation 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is MY FAITHFUL WITNESS ......in HEAVEN, in SUZE, this mystery .....CHRIST IN YOU ......

    God Bless you.

Some teach that based on interpretation of; Isaiah 42:7, 1Peter 3:18-19, Ecclesiastes 4:14-16, Psalms 142:7, Isaiah 53:7-12, Revelation 1:17-18, Matthew 12:38-45, Luke 11:29-32, Ephesians 4:8-10, Psalms 86:13, Acts 2:27,31, Psalms 16:10, but none of these are clearly stated nor defined so. Jonah 2:2,

    Luke 16:22-31,

I guess my question is why?

    Jesus has all authority: Luke 12:5, Luke 9:1, Mark 1:27, 1Corinthians 15:24, Matthew 28:18, Job 26:6, Psalms 139, Revelation 1:18,

    Revelation 20, 2Peter 2:4,

Let's not divide over these issues, James 3:6,

    Roy,

I think you would be okay to take Revelation 3:20 seriously. We do serve a merciful God. What I find interesting is that to this particular church, Christ was standing on the outside. And they had no need of Him. And they were lukewarm.

Have you ever seen that picture with Christ standing outside a door and He is knocking? I remember that picture hanging on a wall in our house growing up. But if you notice in that picture, there is no door knob on the outside of the door.

When Christ calls us, when He comes knocking at the door, we must not harden our heart, but respond to His call by opening the door to Him!

Jesse thank you a good number of my questions answered in one shot with "In the Bible, seven represents completeness, perfection".

I found this "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." in Revelations and I should like to take it literally and link it to GOD's mercy and the forgiveness of sins. Am I OK with that?

That seven Angels are here meant, and not the Holy Spirit, is most evident from the place, the number, and the tradition. Those who imagine the Holy Ghost to be intended suppose the number seven is used to denote his manifold gifts and graces. That these seven spirits are angels, see Re 3:1; 4:5; and particularly Re 5:6, where they are called the seven spirits of God Sent Forth into All the Earth.
  • Jesse - In Reply on Revelation 1 - 2 years ago
    Roy,

    Revelation 1:4 says from the seven Spirits which are before His, that is, God's throne;

There are two schools of thought on this. Please know that the number seven doesn't necessarily mean there are seven Spirits.

In the Bible, seven represents completeness, perfection.

The Jews take it as a Hebraism. RASHI, one of the greatest Jewish scholars uses Isaiah 11:1-2 to show that what John is using is a Hebraism to denote the seven fold Spirit of God. It means the Spirit of God is complete and perfect.

But what specifically is he making reference to?

In Revelation 4:5, we see the same thing when we study what the throne is like in heaven.

It says and out of the throne proceed lightnings, and thunderings, and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.

In Revelation Chapter 5, the chapter where we see this scroll with seven seals on it, which is the title deed to the earth, and the call goes out who is worthy to take the scroll and loosen the seals thereof.

And no one was found worthy in heaven. And John began to weep. And he was told don't weep, the Lamb of God is worthy.

And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent forth into all the earth.

The seven eyes of Christ are the seven Spirits. So it represents completeness, perfection.

But its application is to the Lord's seeing. You see, he's talking about the all-encompassing Spirit who sees all things, and knows all things. That's the way the Jews understood it.

The scripture reference is Zechariah 4:10 which talks about these seven eyes, meaning that God sees perfectly and completely all things. And so John is using a Hebraism here.

    Hope this helps!

    Brother Roy

Revelation 1:4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia, Grace be unto you, and peace from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the SEVEN SPIRITS before his throne.

This is speaking about Christ, and the SEVEN SPIRITS of HIM.

Isaiah 11:1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse (Christ), and a BRANCH (man, you and I) shall grow out of his (Christ's) roots.

Here are the SEVEN SPIRITS of Christ.

    Isaiah 11:2 And the (1) SPIRIT of the Lord (the Father) shall rest upon him, the SPIRIT of (2) wisdom and (3) understanding, the SPIRIT of (4) counsel and (5) might, the SPIRIT of (6) knowledge and (7) fear of the Lord (the Father);

The root is the LIFE of the BRANCH; it feeds the BRANCH with these SEVEN SPIRITS.

May God give us eyes to see and ears to hear.

    God Bless You.

Understandable! God impresses on everyone differently according to what His plan for them is. sometimes I ramble, mixing my words and say things I didn't mean to come out that way, forgive me. The first day of the week, Sunday, the Lord's Day ( Revelation 1:10) celebrates the New Creation, with Christ as our resurrected Head. We are not obligated to follow the Mosaic Sabbath-resting, but are now free to follow the risen Christ-serving. God bless always
