Teresa, I hear what you're saying & no one can make a judgement about a person's position before God: that is in God's knowledge only. And I'm sure that within the Catholic Church, there are many genuine people who are born again of God's Spirit but have not come to that point of deep conviction of their connection with the Church or maybe finding it difficult to leave it. God sees their heart & will speak to them in His Own special way.

I know of & speak with a few RC folk & I also see their love for the Lord & devotion to Him, so why can't I just leave it there instead of teaching them from God's Word? Because in the Bible we are told how to make sure that we are His children, destined for Heaven. Some Catholics who are truly saved have sensed the need to leave the RC Church because what is said & done there is incompatible with what God says in the Bible & so their spirit is troubled. You know, many can be very good & devout, but that is never a qualification for salvation & for Heaven. There are many from other faiths that are likewise, but yet remain barred from Heaven. Why is that so?

It is because we may have a love & hunger for God, yet are disobedient to what God requires of us. In respect to Catholics, I ask:

    a. are you really trusting only in Jesus for your salvation, or by being a member of the Church also? Read John 3:16 & Acts 4:12 (they speak of faith in Him alone & nothing else to save us). Being a member of the Church (any Church) won't save you, but being a part of Christ's Body (His Church) is God's Promise that you are saved. Do you pray to Mary, the Mother of our Lord, or even to the Saints? They won't hear you& can't help you & by praying to anyone except our Heavenly Father, means you have placed 'other gods' in your life & you know that is totally unacceptable.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that the Catholic Church is antichrist, but there are many teachings/dogma in the Catholic Church that are foreign to scripture and even go against scripture. I know about the Catholic Church, having spent more than 30 years of my life in it. So I have first-hand experience as far as what they teach. Most Catholics are devout people. On the outside it looks beautiful, but what is their relationship with Jesus Christ like? Back in 1997, I began questioning the church. I went through the same thing you are going through now, people saying that the teachings of my church were wrong. I too was offended by that. But at that time, I was one of those devout churchgoers that you speak of. However, my relationship, or more proper, my non-relationship with Jesus Christ began to weigh heavy on my mind. In 30 plus years, I was never taught about salvation other than salvation only came through the Catholic Church. Also, I was illiterate when it came to the bible. I look back now and I wonder how in more than 30 years of going to church could I be so illiterate when it came to God's word? Sure, we had the "readings" in church, but if you took the bible as a whole, the readings only covered maybe 10 percent of the entire bible, and it was the same readings over and over again, year after year.

I'm sure you can relate to what I am telling you. I saw a lot of devout people. But they were only devoted to the Catholic Church, not Jesus Christ. I broke free many years ago after receiving Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. What was I devoted to? Was it to a church system and placing my trust in it, or was I devoted to Christ and His word? We all have to make a choice, follow the teachings of a church or religious system, or follow Jesus Christ and His word. Sometimes that choice is tough and family may even turn on you. But it's far better to follow Jesus Christ than to be a devout follower of a church system that cannot save you!

I am reading some very disturbing things lately. They are regarding the Catholic church. I was born and raised a Catholic. I pray to God daily, I thank the Lord daily for my many blessings that have been given to me. I talk to God daily, asking for guidance, forgiveness and protection upon my family, friends and this world.

But upon reading some of the things that have been floating out and around, stating that Catholics are a false church, anti-christ etc. It has me rather unsettled to read such things. My mother came from a devout Catholic home. How could something so beautiful, a devout relationship with the Lord, God be painted in such a horrible way?

Looking for some insight, to settle my soul.

    Thank you,

    Teresa

Never wait on someone to spoon feed the Bible to you. Go grab a "Bible steak" and enjoy, any time you want to.

God gives a blessing to anyone who reads the Book of Revelation. No matter how many times you do it. That's a little preached fact. REVELATION 1:3. Claim the blessing.

I showed you the verse; it's up to you to bless yourself. I read it out loud so the demons can hear how they're going to hell with Satan: again, again, again etc. lol

I lived in Tulsa 3 years. I heard Christians be naughty saying things about him. I heard them one day laughing about him and what the unbelievers said about him daily on the radio. A holy righteous anger flared up in me and I shouted at them: So! You're going to slice up a brother in the Lord, and leave him for dead??? The Holy Spirit TOLD me not to listen to them. Move along ...

I listen to Oral Roberts on YouTube Teaching the Book of Revelation ALL the time. He teaches the Word and leaves himself out of it. His comments can be backed up by other scriptures. All the segments are numbered so you can listen to it in order.

I highly recommend it. A peace settles over my spirit that is almost palpable. A seemingly mysterious Book is not a mystery anymore. These things are coming to the earth and we need to know what is happening. I would NOT steer you wrong.

Ask God to bless your body and heal you; finances; children to be Saved; and other requests. Use that promised blessing

    Chris,

I appreciate your feedback concerning the Seventh Day.

In considering the other side of the teaching that you presented, I will respond below.

The Seventh day was declared by God BEFORE He chose Israel. This Law was established for ALL to obey and enjoy.

The 10 Commandments are OT LAW, are they abolished?

Do you still follow the 10 Commandments?

Jesus abolished BLOOD Ordinances, and either partially or completely fulfilled OT prophecy concerning His first coming, but Christ did not come to abolish the LAW.

So, then, if a person claims to have FAITH in Jesus but all of his WORKS are evil, where do you think this person ends up? Jesus tells us very plainly ( Matthew 7:23). Looks like FAITH has a lot to do with following the LAW ( Galatians 3:11-12) and with WORKS, ( James 2:17).

The English word "week" is defined from the Greek word meaning "Sabbath" or "day of rest;" also a 7 day period of time.

You state that the Lord God or His only begotten Son changed the holy Sabbath day based upon Scripture (from your understanding of Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 16:2, and Revelation 1:10):

"The first day of the week began to be recognized as the Lord's Day and that the Church began worshipping on that day"

Acts 20:7, concerns the first day of the Sabbath in reckoning the 7 Sabbaths to Pentecost.

1 Corinthians 16:2 has to do with preparation (work) for when Paul returns.

Revelation 1:10 concerns John being taken "in the spirit" to the great and dreadful "day of the Lord" or the "Lord's day"

when the Messiah shall return, and John is given testimony in relation to that. (Not Sunday!)

None of these Scriptures you offer give authorization to change the Sabbath day from the SEVENTH DAY to the FIRST DAY of the week.

Christ FORETOLD US EVERYTHING WE NEED TO KNOW. God did not give us instruction to change the Sabbath, neither did Jesus, nor did the Prophets and Apostles.

Matthew 24:36 - But of that day and hour knoweth no [man], no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 - For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: (Read More...)

Revelation 1:7 - Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they [also] which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
  • Seventh day is sabbath - In Reply on James 1 - 5 years ago
    Chris:

    a. The Sabbath was given to man Mark 2:27 at creation Genesis 2:2-3 it's not a day that God required just for the Israelite's to keep, which is why the 4th commandment starts with "remember" it is because the children of Israel had forgotten through hundreds of years of slavery in Egypt.

    b. Jesus came to this world not to destroy the law and the prophets Matt. 5:17, The law (10 commandments) says to remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.

The breaking of bread in Acts 20:7 is referring to eating (food) (see Acts 20:11)

1 Cor. 16:2 the "first day of the week" Paul is referring to putting aside your offerings (collection for the saints) starting on the first day of the week (Sunday) (see 1 Cor.16:1)

Revelation 1:10 John was in vision on the sabbath (Lord's day is the sabbath, For the son of man is Lord, even of the sabbath day. (see Matthew 12:8)

    c. What was nailed to the cross was the "ceremonial laws" not the 10 commandments. In (Matt.27:51) the veil of the temple was rent in two when Jesus died on the cross, the ceremonial laws that God had required since sin came into the world (sacrificing animals ect) was no longer needed because the ultimate sacrifice had just been made and that was the shedding of blood of a sinless Jesus on the cross.

Matthew 5:18 One jot or one tittle shall not wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Rev. 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter into the gates of the city.

    Lamb Of God:

Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?

For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were [our] faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Mennonites, like the Amish community, generally refrain from being photographed as they believe that the photograph might be considered a graven image which could also lead to vanity as they might look at it in other ways than for purer reasons. Therefore, no pictures are found in their homes & some select few, also forbid the use of mirrors, for the same reason. Of course, we know the meaning of the First Commandment applied to the Israelites, that they not create any images to represent God to worship it. But this commandment is carried over incorrectly to a personal application. Vanity & pride are spoken of in the Bible as sins, but dealing with it in the mind is more important than representation in a photograph.

Their whole focus on Christian living is based on 'simplicity' without any of the 'modern' paraphernalia that would cause our minds to become distracted from God's intended lifestyle for us. There is merit in a lot of that when we look at the manner of living of many these days with our penchant for material goods & display of our bodies.

If you were born again, you have the Holy Spirit ( some call it the holy ghost, same thing) How can you know? By faith. Faith is the same a trust. If you can't trust God, who can you trust. The Holy Spirit is like the little cartoons you may have seen when you was a kid. Where there's a little angel whispering in one ear and a devil whispering in your other ear. Listen and that little angel (which really is the holy spirit will guide you.)

Seems like the media pushes all the blame for racism on whites.

Why do they hate whites who printed Bibles and built churches? Europe and the USA did

Bible book Song of Solomon 5:10 - My beloved is WHITE white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand.

I am curious if the Lord made a mistake when he put whites in Europe and blacks in Africa?

Deuteronomy 32:8 When the most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.

I just want to mention that a sizable earthquake happened Saturday night right after President Trump left the campaign stage in Tulsa. People in the city reported feeling it. You can Google that.

I lived there 3 years. I think a lot of Christians went to church prayerful today?

It was wrong for rioters to hang out and act like traitors and thugs at a campaign speech. I'm sure cameras were rolling during the 4.2 quake. Wonder if national news reported it ?
