    REVELATION 13:17

May the Spirit grace us with his wisdom and his understanding.

Revelation 1:1-3 The Revelation of Jesus Christ .....things that must shortly come to pass.....and signified....

(vs 3) Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things that are written therein: FOR THE TIME IS AT HAND.

Most will study Revelation and never apply these verses to the truth of the rest of Revelation.

Signified: the nouns are symbols of something other than there definition as denoted by a dictionary. There definition can be found hidden in other scriptures in God's word.

    Example:

Luke 8:5 ....and the fowls of the air devoured it.

Luke 8:11 Now the parable is this...

Luke 8:12 ....then cometh the DEVIL (fowls of the air)

Luke 13:19 (A PARABLE) It (kingdom of heaven) is like a grain of mustard seed....and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it.

John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches (where the fowls of the air dwell)....WITHOUT ME YOU CAN DO NOTHING.

Revelation 2:13 ....Even where Satan's seat is...

Matthew 12:28 But if I CAST OUT DEVIL'S by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God (Christ in you) is come in unto you.

Revelation 12:7-10 And there was war in heaven (where is the kingdom of heaven; CHRIST IN YOU, heaven is YOU): Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

(vs 8) And prevailed not, neither was THEIR place found anymore in heaven (in you)

(vs 9) And the great dragon was cast out......

(vs 10) and I heard a loud voice (Holy Spirit) saying, Now is salvation... strength..and the kingdom....

Must shortly come to pass: the revealing of Jesus Christ, he is the kingdom of heaven: CHRIST IN YOU has to happen in before your physical body dies.

The time is at hand: If you were alive 1800 years ago these words were would have declared the kingdom of heaven to you just as they are declaring the kingdom of heaven to the person reading them at the instance.

Hi Jerry. My understanding about the Sabbath is that it was a commandment from God for the Jews to observe. There were stipulations in what they could do on that day & in Jesus' day, the religious leaders added their own rules to it, making what was supposed to be a Holy Day of Rest into a burdensome commandment.

Even though many Christians believe in 'keeping the Sabbath', whether on a Saturday (Jewish) or a so-called 'Christian Sabbath', I don't accept either, as the Sabbath Day has nothing to do with Christian living. If a council has changed the Jewish Sabbath to a 'Christian Sabbath', then that is unbiblical. If we need to give a name to Christians worshipping together on a Sunday, then I would call it the "Lord's Day" ( Revelation 1:10), the day that believers set aside that was different to the Jews & in line with the Day of Resurrection ( Acts 20:7).

    Wayne,

    You asked,

"Does Revelation 1:7 indicate that the world is flat and not round?"

"Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen." Rev 1:7

The verse states that "every eye shall see Him." So does that mean that the earth is flat?

Well, can you see anything that might be 100 miles away or more. Almost everything that's happening around the world is out of your eyesight, isn't it?

But when Jesus appears, EVERYBODY will get a personal interview.

"For we must ALL appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad." 2Co 5:10

"And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works." Rev 20:11-13

When Jesus returns He will execute judgement. There will be no place to hide. EVERYONE will stand before God.

That EVERY eye will see Him has nothing to do with the shape of the earth. It's irrelevant.

The question is, what have you done with Jesus. Are you trusting in Jesus' death, burial and resurrection to save you from God's wrath against your sin and rebellion?

William, may the Spirit grace you with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

Revelation 12:7 And there was WAR IN HEAVEN.......

Revelation 1:1 .....and sent and signified (or symbolic of) it by his angel....

Revelation 1:3 ....for the time is at hand....

Revelation is difficult at best to understand because most want believe the above two verses. The words were just as true for readers in Johns time as they are to us in our time and will be to those in the future who read them. The war in heaven (which began after Christ was crucified) was happening in Johns time just as it it happening today and will continue happening as long as there is a tomorrow.

Now, with the working of the Spirit let's see if by using other verses as the KEYS TO THE KINGDOM we can come to the truth about the WAR IN HEAVEN.

Luke 17:21 .....the kingdom of heaven is in YOU.....

2 Corinthians 12:2 ....such an one caught up to the THIRD HEAVEN.

1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and the Spirit of God DWELLETH IN

    YOU?

There is a natural heaven, but an a symbol it represent us (WHERE GOD DWELLS)

Matthew 12:28 But if I cast out devils by the SPIRIT OF GOD, then the KINGDOM OF GOD IS COME UNTO YOU.

Revelation 12:7 ....and there was war in heaven (in you)...

Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out..

Revelation 12:10 And I heard a loud voice (the Holy Spirit) saying in heaven (in you), now is salvation, and strength, and the KINGDOM OF OUR GOD..

Luke 10:17-18 And he said unto them (the seventy he sent out to cast out devils), I beheld SATAN as lighting fall FROM HEAVEN (from those that Satan was cast out of).

2 Corinthians 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God (Spirit) to the pulling down strong holds (traditions of man).

Isaiah 9:5 For every battle of the (natural) warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this (spiritual battle) shall be with (spiritual) burning and FUEL of (spiritual) FIRE.

Connie, No apology necessary, I've been on this site for only a matter of a few short months myself, and yes I agree that the comments are varied in nature, but most I believe are meant to help us on our faith journey, I know it has helped me. If I may ask one question, do you believe that the narrow road to our salvation leads to the cross, and the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Not sure if you have ever heard of Billy Graham, he passed away a bit ago, but his sermons are on you tube and some of his sermons are about the real meaning of the cross, and the importance of it.

    Have a great day,

John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

Revelation 1:5 "And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,"

Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:"

"Not of works, lest any man should boast."

Pochalla, may the Spirit grace you with HIS wisdom and His knowledge.

Let's try with the Spirits working to perceive what the Spirit calls the DAY OF THE LORD.

Amos 5:18-21 Woe unto you that DESIRE THE DAY OF THE LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the Lord is DARKNESS, AND NOT LIGHT.

    (20) Shall not the DAY OF THE LORD be darkness and not light? even very dark and no brightness in it?

Joel 2:31 The sun shall be turned in darkness, and the moon into blood, BEFORE THE GREAT AND THE TERRIBLE DAY OF THE LORD COME.

Is this prophecy yet in the future or has it already been fulfilled? Other scriptures and the symbols represented in them provide the answers.

Psalm 89:34-37 .....(36) His (David's) seed (Christ) shall endure forever, and his (Christ) throne as the sun before me. (vs) It (Christ and his throne) shall be established forever as the MOON, AND AS A FAITHFUL WITNESS IN HEAVEN.

Revelation 1:5 And from JESUS CHRIST, who is my FAITHFUL WITNESS IN HEAVEN. The Psalm says the MOON is the faithful witness implying the moon is symbolic of Jesus.

The prophecy says the sun shall be turned into darkness, and the MOON into blood. Has this already happened?

Matthew 27:45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.

John 19:34 ...and forthwith came there out BLOOD...

THE DAY OF THE LORD is every day and has been going on now for two thousand years.

Christ through the working of the Holy Spirit has been coming (the second time lake a thief in the night to those who look for him).

Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; AND UNTO THEM THAT LOOK FOR HIM SHALL HE APPEAR THE SECOND TIME WITHOUT SIN UNTO SALVATION.

  • S Spencer The right hand of God - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 4 years ago
    Hi Paul,

I think it's misleading when we think of God as having a presence like us. In those verses you place Jesus sitting beside God and there you have the son sitting beside the Father. But I don't think that's what those verses is saying. Here's an example.

Psalms 16:8.I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

Now do you vision God sitting down beside David ? are is David referring to him as the power in which he shall not be moved?

Here's another example of him being the power.

Luke 22:69. Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.

The right hand/power is an attribute in which he performs within the God head. Here's some examples.

Exodus 15:6. Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.

Isaiah 41:10. Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Romans 8:34. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Isaiah 48:13. Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.

This is just a few of many verses in which you see

He makes intercession from his right hand.

He makes us righteousness from his right hand.

His power is his right hand.

He judges from the right hand.

And as Isaiah 48:13 says along with the volume of the book

He created the world with his right hand.

So those verses proves He's God!! That why in Revelation 1:8 he's called the Almighty!!

Revelation 1:8 (KJV) I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

    Sheila,

"I'm in need of learning to pray better " What is lacking in your prayers? I spoke once with a brother in Christ who said

he didn't know enough of the Bible to pray better. What he meant was, he didn't remember passages verbatim, with book, chapters and verses. As Christ taught us, a prayer is not a repitition of words( Matthew 6:7). Even what the Lord said is disregarded in that some people repeat his words as a prayer itself. Instead Jesus spoke of a manner of prayer, in which he spoke of the matters on his heart. Therein is what God wants to hear from us, the matters on our heart. I hear you saying you do that already, what more would make your prayers better?

Chuck the "dynamite teacher" has been an encouragement to you and we all have someone who has taught us in the things of God. Their words and mannerisms stick with us as a vital part of our learning. It is great to be on the receiving side of people who have dug out the gems in the mine of God's word. As we grow in grace we should be miners ourselves and in our turn pass on gems, you can and will also. Your prayer for God to touch us with his love and grant us comfort and peace is very much appreciated, thank you sister. I will remember you in prayer also as a dear sister in Christ who prays from her heart.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful testimony, Sheila. That was so heartening to read, of your very real love for the Lord & your constant engaging with Him throughout your day: morning to night. That speaks to me of a true disciple of Christ who always looks to her Heavenly Father, reaching out to Him in times of both joy & sorrow.

Be assured that Jesus does know you personally: He laid down His Life for you, gave you a new birth, a new life, a new joy & a new hope. His Peace rules your heart with your 'soul panting (rushing) for the things of the Lord, just as the thirsty deer rushes to the water brooks' ( Psalm 42:1). So Jesus certainly knows you & it's clear, that your entrance into Heaven will be 'abundant'. And you do know Him personally as you study His Word to learn His Word for you & you spend time in conversation with Him. Whenever people feel estranged from the Lord, it's not that the Lord has left them or gotten side-tracked, rather that we have lost our focus because of sin or compromise & He waits longingly for our love & commitment to Him to be restored.

So sister, keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, Who alone is the Author & Perfecter of your faith, for He indeed endured the Cross for you, in joy.

I'm sorry I don't know a particular scripture but when I am troubled. or stressed, I go directly in prayer (talk)to my heavenly Father and Jesus. When I want reassurance I read His holy Word and He shows up there. I have been studying, taking Notes, (not just reading) the books of the Bible. Our Father is Real to me and I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior and Redeemer. I have a personal relationship with Him. I'm in need of learning to pray better but that does Not stop me from talking to Jesus, off and on, all day. I want Him to know me personally, where as when I get to Heaven I won't feel like a stranger to Him. If I sound like I have it all together, don't be misled, I have my struggles in this life Every day. I only know that Jesus is real to me and I love Jesus and I can hardly wait to meet Him and sit at His feet. I find the Bible to be more interesting than TV now. I have studied so hard and so much I find it difficult to turn the light out and read for half the night. (Retired finally) I also enjoy listening to Chuck Missler on YouTube; he learned to love scriptures at 16 and is a dynamite teacher. Chuck passed a few years back but I enjoy listening to his knowledge of Old and New Testament. It is hard to keep up for he speaks fast; but, I just hit rewind. I pray that Jesus will reach out to you and let you know He is real and Loves you Very much. May God continue to bless you and keep you. May He wrap His loving arms around you and give you Comfort and Peace. .

    O, what great Scriptures you've shared: John 17:5, Isaiah 9:6, Revelation 1:8.

What does one have to do to those portions to make it mean anything different than expressed so clearly here? How can Jesus dare say that He enjoyed God's Glory in Himself even before His Incarnation & indeed, before the creation of the worlds?

I think, many just have to make Him out to be a liar, as any normal reading of those Scriptures, shed great Light on a wonderful, glorious Truth. The fact that our salvation is real & secure is dependent on God coming in the flesh, by His Word - any other sacrifice would not cut it - we would still be in our sins, we would still need a yearly offering, & we would be in a desperate mental & spiritual state not knowing if we'll make it to Heaven. The fact that God has done it & given of Himself, gives us great joy & peace, & confidence in the Lord. It's all of Him - nothing of us. Praise be to Him alone.

The simple answer to your question is repentance and prayer, knowing that only through faith in the Cross and all that it means, do we receive God's grace and mercy. I've been there and done that many times over the years, we've all fallen at one time or another, this is because of our human nature (sin) but I also believe that the Holy Spirit is there through our conscience to comfort us, and convict us when we've gone astray (that guilty feeling) and direct us back to the cross (the narrow road). If somehow we hurt one of our friends and realize our mistake we ask for forgiveness, and if we're genuine in our apology, our true friends will forgive us realizing that we all make mistakes. Throughout the bible we find man falling away from God, as David did with Bathsheba, another man's wife, 2 Samuel 11:3, or Manasseh in 2 Kings 21:14 - 21:17, but through repentance and prayer they again came to know God and all His mercies, and Paul who first persecuted the church became one of the greatest apostles for the church.

Throughout the NT you will read of Jesus teaching starting with Matthew Chapter 5-7, this is the start of Jesus ministry, the Beatitudes and sermon on the mount.

Matthew 5:3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

Matthew 5:6 "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled."

Matthew 7:7 "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:"

For the person who has never come to Christ for salvation, or the one who has drifted away from enjoying the Presence & Plan of God for them, the only place to be found is at the foot of the Cross.

If you sense that your faith is lukewarm, your life's path has gone off course or the ministry of God's Spirit is all but absent leaving you destitute of joy, assurance & hope, then you need to come back to the Lord. He ever calls - He ever waits for His children to realize how far they have strayed & how close He is to receive them back. Remember the prodigal son story? How the son's father longed for & waited for his son's return ( Luke 15:11-24). What joy the father had to receive his son back as one from the dead. Likewise, God (& all of Heaven) awaits & rejoices when a sinner or one who has strayed away comes back into the fold of Christ.

Talk freely, openly from your heart to God about where you have failed him. Confess to Him (through the Sacrifice of His Son Jesus) that you have come to a point of total hopelessness & grief for leaving God & you're so sorry to have done this & failed Him. He does hear & understands all you've been through & His Spirit has brought you to this point of realization & confession. "Him (or, her) that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out" is Jesus' Promise for you ( John 6:37). And also "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." ( 1 John 1:9). These are the sure promises from God's Word that He will receive all who come in humility & sincerity before Him.

After you confess all before God, His Spirit will minister to you, maybe at that instance or in the moments ahead. You will have the joy of sins forgiven & being accepted. You will want to spend more time talking with your Heavenly Father & reading from His Word to learn more of Him & of what He wants from your life. Feed on that "Living Bread" Jesus Christ - give Him first place in everything you do.

Sheri, the Spirit has graced you with his wisdom and understanding. Most don't understand that THE DAY OF THE LORD has been going on for 2000 years.

Amos 8:9 And it shall come to pass in THAT DAY, saith the Lord God, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in a clear day.

Matthew 27:45 And from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.

Joel 2:31 The sun shall be turned in darkness, and the MOON into blood, BEFORE the terrible DAY OF THE LORD come.

Psalm 89:36 It (his seed, Christ) shall be established for ever as the MOON, and as a faithful witness in heaven.

Revelation 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is my FAITHFUL WITNESS......

John 19:34 .....and forthwith came there out blood and water.....

Zachariah 14:7 IT SHALL BE ONE DAY which shall be known to the Lord, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass at evening time it shall be light.

It still isn't light and 2000 years has already passed.

The Spirits grace continue upon you.
