    Rev 17 and 18

Mystery Babylon, appears to be the apostate church , that never really was true . Typified as a whore , yet she took the view she was a queen that would see no sorrow .

The true saints suffered martyrdom by her .

And when anti christ appears he destroys her . He claims to be God so he can have no rivals .

When anti christ comes it will be totally a different time and we now can see it starting to unfold . As false Christianity begins to falter .

Yet Jesus will build his church through all of this . Amazing !

  • Mild Bill - In Reply on Revelation 18:4 - 4 years ago
Hi Stephen, I didn't find your response till Jan8. When were you given the "choice"? Was it while you were dead or alive? I believe the dead have no choice and the living see no other. He saved me, he died for me, it was true at that instant I first saw, now and forever.

Irresistable grace is the work of quickening unbelivers to life, to recognize the truth/Jesus. Salvation is more than a rational decision of the human will. You can't say to God, "I chose you, therefore, you are obligated to save me." That's not by grace, and makes a substantial difference in the believers perspective on their salvation and behavior. Grace is never conditional, or would you suggest it is?

The confidence in what we believers have, is entirely a personal conviction. That is, while I might believe you do have it, only you know, and I will have to wait to see you in the hereafter.

I don't know how to converse with you more directly, but I wouldn't mind hearing from you on this again.

Hi Bill, you raised an interesting question the way you put it, I would like to comment, I think we are born dead in trespasses and sin, We have been given the law which is to show us we come up short of Gods requirement for salvation, Now the wages of sin is death, Jesus died on the cross and paid for the sins of the world for all who believe. We who believe was put in Christ and baptised in his death, and when he rose from the dead we were raised with him in newness of life, " Romans 6:3-4. That's why the scripture says we must be born again, "born from above" now we have been sent a savior, "Jesus Christ" now we are given a "choice" if we accept his redemptive blood or not, now i don't know if you call that free will or choice.
  • Mild Bill on Revelation 18:4 - 4 years ago
Only this week I discovered responses in my little used email account.

mishael, you answered my post, but not my question. That's evasion, but is it intentional? Free of what? Free of what? Free of what?

"People are given freewill." Really? Free of what? Anyone claiming we have a free will is saying we are free of sin and not dead in trespasses and sin, before being saved, so who needs Christ?

My people reffer to the house of Israel. calling them to wake up from the deep sleep they are into. Babylon has deceaved the whole world. I've already started to teach my people the true Gospel, not the one we've learned from the churches. Because these churches they all drunk with Her meaning Babylon the great, by preaching her doctrines.

Falling away indeed , but still more to come . Society in general , wants no law and order , but are not wise enough to know the results of it .

Also God raises up spoilers for a reason as well . It's time to really be serious about God and his word . And thank God for his unchanging word too !

Are hope is when Christ comes again , the darkness that precedes it means it's coming closer . But many things need to come to

Pass yet and have not .

We are not appointed unto wrath . Jesus Christ is our Ark in the flood of trouble .

i believe the come out of her my people, is a call to the in general catholics who are still in the Catholic Church as more and more the Catholic Church is corrupted. The latest from the Pope is a call to recognize civil unions for Gay couples. Think of jewish teaching on homosexality and look at the current catholic teaching. One could do this on Many topics. This pope also has turned to the policy that WORKS is needed for salvation. Basically the Catholic church has now turned into a giant charitable organization. Salvation is a gift from a merciful GOD. Good luck to Catholics who adopt these heretical teachings. I do not think we have to wait long now to know exactly what GOD thinks about the last 50 years. The great falling away could only be missed by someone truly blind. That is no one paticular person but a huge part of the baby boomers on have had basically no religion, didn't say i was any better just pointing out the realities of today.

Just trying to help. It makes a huge difference to place yourself in the right church. The Bible names the right one as the Church of God. I go to a congregation of the Church of God, at Mercersburg, PA. We are not pentecostal; speaking in tongues is not proof of the Holy Ghost; a holy, sin free, righteous life is proof however, and is recognized by God as being right.

In the US, there are several true Church of God congregations: Mercersburg & Connoquenessing PA, Manassas & Waynesboro VA, near De Graff and near Hamilton, OH, Corbin, KY, near Hayden, ID, Iaeger/Harmon Branch, WV, Brandon, FL, Birmingham & Huntsville/Chase, AL, Porter, OK, Mattoon, IL, Avondale, AR. These represent the ones known in the US to be in fellowship and are standing true. There are other congregations around the world; these just represent here in the US. Near any of these US locations? Want truth and correct Bible teaching? A God called pastor is at these locations. Revelation 18:2 says Babylon is fallen vs 4 says to come out. So if or when you come out of false churches, here's where to go, to find truth, salvation from sin. Ep. 4:4 tells us there's 1 body, 1 Lord, 1 faith... these locations are part of that 1 body. 1 Co. 1:10 we're admonished to speak the same thing; not languages like English, Spanish, etc. but in doctrine. There is one doctrine these congregations follow; having rightly divided truth as in 2 Tim 2:15. If you desire true preaching that delivers from sin, and keeps you on the path God wants for you, attend one of these locations, repent from sin, cease the sin business, be taught about sanctification, obtain it by prayer when you remain sinless, then be fully saved and pleasing to God. If you want more info, just ask.

Thanks Adam I appreciate your answers to my question. I was pondering that question with Father God and I just was wondering if people felt the way I felt about it. I feel that Jesus is all everyone will ever need. Love! Thanks Brother and Lord Bless!
  • Adam - In Reply on Revelation 18:2 - 4 years ago
    Hello Omar,

You are asking the right question. People searching for meaning outside of God often come up empty. It's not about wealth, that's why so many famous celebrities are unstable and have alcohol and drug addictions. The wisest man in the Bible who was a wealthy king wrote about this exact subject. It is worth reading: Ecclesiastes 2

I believe the meaning of life is love and relationships. Relationships with God, family, friends, neighbors. Life is a test and God is testing our character and if we want to seek and follow Him. The greatest commandment in the Bible is Mark 12:30-31. The Bible is full of wisdom on how to live our life- like an instruction manual for a good, meaningful life.

In addition, people who help others often feel a great sense of fulfillment. Volunteering, helping neighbors, pursuing the betterment of others. Not everyone says thank you. Only 10% came back to thank Jesus for healing him. But this is a way to build 'treasure' in heaven instead of pursuing empty pursuits of this world, in my opinion. Matthew 6:20

    John 16:33, 2 Corinthians 4:17, 1 Corinthians 13:13. Link

    God bless you...

With all the evil taking place in our country these past few months it's easy to see that people choose evil over good, while they justify their evil. Babylon sounds like a description of today's New York City. Sudden destruction will come within one hour. Ever wonder what an EMP bomb would do to our country? To New York City?

verse 2, And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, 'babylon The great' is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

Note: in verse 2 the discovery on Babylon is over, and JEHOVAH /GOD begin to publicize some of the evidence found. GOD's evidence reveals her heart is overflowing with much wickedness, thereby she shall be destroyed according to THE WILL OF GOD.

verse 3, For all nations have drunk of 'the wine of the wrath' of her fornication

Note: all nations took part in her fornication, never-the-less GOD has put in place John 3:16-21, thereby we can rightly apply John 3:16-21 and similar verses and avoid the wrath that shall come.

Revelation 18:21 - And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all. .....

...... Rev 18:24 - And in her (Babylon) was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

babylon was responsible for the BLOOD of PROPHETS.

Rev 16:6 - For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.

Rev 17:6 - And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

    Mystery Babylon killed the prophets

Jesus speaking Luke 13:33 - Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.

for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.

Jesus - Matthew 23:37 - O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.

the two witnesses of God are mentioned here:

Rev 11:8 - And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

Jesus, MY LORD was crucified in JERUSALEM, which is spiritually called Sodom and Egypt. NOT Rome or in Mecca or the USA

Do we believe Jesus or commentaries?

    How about Paul?

Paul writes in 1 Thess 2:14, 16 - For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, EVEN AS THEY HAVE OF THE JEWS: WHO BOTH KILLED THE LORD JESUS, and their OWN PROPHETS, and have persecuted us; and THEY PLEASE NOT GOD, ....

To answer your question directly means I won't refer to the first & other previous occasions when the Apocryphal books were disputed. But to your question about the 1611 KJV, those books were present in that KJV version but removed later in AD 1885.

They were considered as not Divinely inspired writings, having questionable origins, authors & whose canonicity (i.e. Scriptures that are accepted as standard & worthy) was doubtful. For example, the following references speak of money also being able to help in sin's atonement: Sirach 3:30, Tobit 4:10; 12:9; 14:11 & 2 Macc 12:41-45 (included prayer for the dead & purgatory). This speaks of also being saved by works: 1 Macc 2:52. The dead are praying: Baruch 3:4. And many more.

The apostles of Christ nor Jesus, ever considered those writings as part of the body of Scripture though allusions to it were made a couple of times: e.g. 2 Tim 3:8 & Jude 14,15. Therefore, the Apocryphal books are not totally without Truth or useless, but they have sufficient spurious information that should make us cautious & particularly for someone unfamiliar with the Bible & its specific teachings on the accepted doctrines.

Someone sent this to me. I have loosely titled: Tolerance of evil.

"Our great and mighty God, who created all things; even evil

I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things. ( Isaiah 45:7)

Has pulled the plug on this evil world. He ALLOWED all this to happen....ok if you don't want Me in your nation and you allow your enemies to invade your land with their idols and their sorceries and witchcraft and gods of wood and gods of stone who neither see nor hear....you want to pass your children through the fire of abortion and have your men marry men and your women marry women....

And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. ( Revelation 18:2)

....and I will send a famine, not just of food but also of the Word.....no more will the voice of the Bride be heard or the voice of the Bridegroom......you want to kick me out of your nation.....welcome to your New Boss

Judgment begins at the house of the Lord then the cup of His indignation is poured out on everyone else, who have taken the mark and who blaspheme the Most High. Woe unto them"

No Jessue you are error since there are many cities built on 7 hills and Jerusalem is one of them.

Jerusalem's seven hills are the following Mount Scopus, Mount Olivet (Mount of Olives) and the Mount of Corruption (all three are peaks in a mountain ridge that lies east of the old city), Mount Ophel, the original Mount Zion, the New Mount Zion and the hill on which the Antonia Fortress was built, you know the wailing wall where the jews pray at.

Rome was never sent prophets of the Lord. who killed the saints and the Lord?

King James Bible book of John 5:16 - And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.

John 5:18 - Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.

John 7:1 - After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him.

Act 9:23 - And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him

Act 23:12 - And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul.

Act 26:21 - For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill me.

Do you see Rome in there anywhere?

Paul in 1 Thessalonians 2:14, 16 - For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, EVEN AS THEY HAVE OF THE JEWS: WHO BOTH KILLED THE LORD JESUS, and their own PROPHETS, and have persecuted us; and THEY PLEASE NOT GOD, and are contrary to all men: Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: FOR THE WRATH IS COME UPON THEM TO THE UTTERMOST.

Who killed the prophets? ...O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets...

24 and in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

Note: Babylon The Great as a 'slayer' left a very long blood-trail that could easily be followed, and matter-of-fact her blood-trail PLUS her sins caused Heaven to ensure her evil actions was recorded for Jehovah /GOD use. see verse 5 and 24.

Barry, thanks for your comment. Sorry, that's just the way I talk & write: trying to compress as much of my thoughts into a rich use of words & sentences & so avoid unnecessary circumlocution & verbosity. And it's for good, smart folk like you that I write, so that I might get some good insight & feedback on this important issue. And, by the way, I did see excerpts of that sad account of the young girl who suicided. Very sad indeed, yet we don't know her full story.

Earth spins around its axis, just as a top spins around its spindle. This spinning movement is called Earth's rotation.

At the same time that the Earth spins on its axis, it also orbits, or revolves around the Sun. This movement is called revolution.
  • Mishael on Angels Unaware - In Reply on Revelation 18 - 5 years ago
As a street minister when I was younger, I bought McDonalds coupon booklets (for food) and gave them to old ladies or alcoholics who forget to eat food. I'd listen to their stories and tell them of a day when there would be no more sadness or tears; about a Savior who knows them personally.

Jesus said to us: when did you see Me, hungry and thirsty, sad and alone, in prison (real or in my mind), In need of clothing etc.

We can't help all of them, but I promise you the Holy Spirit will lead you to the right ones!

Also, it's possible to meet angels unaware out there too. I saw a man walking with bad feet and broke driving laws to circle back, pick him up and take him to get brand new shoes and socks. It was dark & raining. I didn't find him. I looked everywhere.

8 months later at the doctors office, I was telling the doctor about bad feet stories. His eyes were all big...he told me he picked that man up that night. He did surgery on his feet for free. Bought him good shoes and took him back to his neighborhood.

Stuff like that happens because Jesus knows everybody!
