That's my take on it.
My comment is provoked for good to bring clarification, we ofttimes have made generalized statements as if they are a "truth of or about God, " but is not. Concerning dogs and all animals and creation the whole creation as we have after the Fall of Mankind is in a fallen state affected by the sin state of mankind and creation since mankind also was given dominion over all the care of the earth in general without listing all details here. With that said God is not hating on any of his creation but the state that it is in is separation from God (a sin state/fallen) and his intended purpose. So, animals are not in their correct state either so their is no permission that has been given of God to make pets of creatures from other kingdoms in the earth world, so there is no special claims on animals that God has chosen to domesticate this is something mankind has chosen to do right or wrong. I do not even think we were suppose to domesticate and take any specific animals for mankind's delight as pets as our main relationships were to be with God and one another/people some people erred in loving animals more. I think they can be helpful when trained as we have come to discover but as "Pets" God is not in that and just because man can find a good use for something does not make it "Approved of God and we really need to stop saying things in this manner because it is just not true. We say these things because it is what we want and we try to make ourselves feel better and get others to believe these things with us by trying to stamp them with God's approval and God is not and has not given us a stamp of approval on this kind of thinking and behaving in life. All mentions of "Dogs," in scripture are derogatory in meaning never anything of good for its use so I do believe that this is what we should say as well, until all creation have been redeemed and are made new again we are not to esteem anything in this world as desirable, good, or approved of God.
Colossians 3,
Hopefully these are helpful
From the many blessings resulting from Salvation, the Christian's new position in Christ affords us: a heavenly citizenship ( Philippians 3:20); a member of a holy & royal priesthood ( 1 Peter 2:5); a member of God's family ( Ephesians 2:19); an adoption ( Galatians 4:5); and a member of God's 'peculiar people' (i.e. God's special possession) ( 1 Peter 2:9).
But some one possibly will say, How are the dead raised up, after their whole frame is dissolved? And with WHAT KIND of bodies do they come again, after these are mouldered into dust?
2 Timothy 4:18
And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever.
2 Peter 3:10
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
1 John 2:17
And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abides FOREVER.
Philippians 3:21 - Who shall CHANGE our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself?
1 Corinthians 15:42-44 - So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in INCORRUPTION; It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
Matthew 22:30 - For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
FLESH is corruptible. It gets old, damaged; amputations, crippled, paralyzed, blind, deaf, and etc.
Our new bodies will be like Jesus's body. Over 500 SAW JESUS after he was crucified and resurrected from the tomb. He ate food.
We will eat and drink. Jesus has made all provisions for us. Will will have homes; be reunited with people who died as Christians.
HAVE FAITH in what is recorded in the Bible Scriptures.
Read the Gospels, Book of Acts, Revelation; 2 Peter 3.
Don't let Satan rob you of your tender faith. Get stronger.
Tell others. Show them these scriptures. Even better, give them a Bible with these scriptures highlighted. Walmart has inexpensive Bibles.
beware of false teachers
Then one day I read: Amos 5:18-24,
People long for Mercy, Justice, correct judgement that may be the root of the plea, prayer.
However Jesus instruction was pray "Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven " Matthew 6:9-13,

You said grow spiritual by keeping the law? We can't.
Galatians 3:2-3.
Galatians 3:5-7.
Galatians 3:8-9.
Galatians 3:10-11.
Galatians 3:12-14.
Also read Galatians 4. and
Galatians 5.
Jesus didn't do away with the Law.
Jesus took on the penalty of the law that brought death.
Colossians 2:14-17.
In fact it's called the ministry of Death.
Here's a few passages from Paul. at one time he felt the same way you do and set out to kill anyone that followed Jesus.
2 Corinthians 3:6-11.
Romans 7:10-11. And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.
For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.
Romans 5:20. Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
Philippians 3:2-10. Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.
For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:
Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;
Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
Galatians 5:11-12.
God bless.
May I suggest you reflect on Matthew 6:33-34 and Philippians 3:12-13.
If you're asking how to find how, [To do all things through CHRIST who strengthens me.]
1st, please read the verses prior in Philippians 1, note Philippians 1:6,9,10,11, &
2nd, Philippians 4:4 "Rejoice in the LORD always, again I say rejoice." meaning we can "rejoice" cheer up, (hail) enthusiasticly acknowledge The LORD's accomplishments. Knowing His Power, Truth, Love & compassion & purposes for us. If we Believe & have Faith in HIM & The WORD. For HE has a will & purpose for us all, Philippians 2:13, Philippians 3:21,
Philippians 4:6,7,8,9 are all actions we are to take. Philippians 1:11, Philippians 2:4,14,15, Philippians 3:13,14,
3rd Paul in bonds in Rome it appears, Philippians 1:12,13,14, Philippians 4:23,24, & in context of what he's saying in Chptr 4, verse 13. He says "I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound, every where and in all things. ...." in Philippians 4:11,12,13,
Note Philippians 1:19,20,21,23,24,
He's speaking I believe; the ability to endure even the worst of circumstances. Paul being an example of this: Philippians 1:29, following Jesus' example: Philippians 2:5-8, Philippians 3:8,10,
Hopefully these are helpful to endure any & every thing you have to face
Christians forsake fellowship with each other for companionship with dogs, cats, golf, sports, bars, dining out, children, grandchildren, etc. Justify yourself all you want, but it is time to be convicted by the truth. We prefer the comfort and safety of a dog companion, to a meaningful Christ-like engagement with our fellow believers.
So, if you do not like dogs or any other animal, that is your prerogative, but to God, every creature He created was created good before Him.
God Bless You, Julian
In biblical times, they were not domesticated like today. They were not welcome into homes and ran around in packs scavenging and being brutal to other creatures and humans.) But now, thousands of years later, dogs have been breed for many purposes for mankind. They are loyal and good companions to many. I do not like it when dogs jump up on me, growl at me, run at me, etc. but I don't mind well behaved dogs. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion about dogs. i am just not sure that the Bible expressly forbids having dogs as pets. Maybe you know of a Scripture that speaks to this.
First - let us remember the Syro-Phonecian woman who asked Jesus to cast the devil out of her daughter. Jesus at first denied her request, saying that He was come to first seek the lost sheep of israel. She responded, "even the puppies get the crumbs that fall from their Master's table." Jesus did not upbraid her, saying something like, "Puppies shouldn't be in the house in the first place!!" :)
It's true that some 'dogs' of the wild type are sly, cruel and savage. Those would be more of what would describe evil people!
Dogs in homes are domestic animals. This is a sad commentary in our day that people don't understand this. They neglect their dogs, or dump them on the street, thinking they can forage for themselves! That is absolutely false! Domestic canines cannot survive well on their own. They become sick, they become prey for animals; they become prey for evil people.
Like other domestic animals, they are part of the class of creatures that we are to be stewards of. I have seen countless cases of dogs being rescued who have been so neglected; their fur was left unwashed and uncut - and the poor creatures literally become encrusted with feces, urine, and parasites. I remember one case of a little dog whose matted fur entangled the front paw so bad that it cut off circulation and the limb had to be amputated. Is this the way the Great and Good Creator would want His creatures taken care of? I can't believe that!
I have a son who has been sick for 20 years, pretty much home bound, unable to get out to socialize and make friends. His pets add brightness and laughter and companionship to his painful days. They also serve as watch dogs and caregivers! One day my son fell - and it was his pup that alerted me to it! I thank God for these little helpers!
God bless!
Today, in the modern, apostate Church, people live with dogs and false teachers, and view it as normal.
As you may know, the Letter to the Hebrews was written mainly for the Jews who turned away from Judaism & towards Christ. So we get many references to Jewish beliefs & practises, showing to these new believers how Jesus fulfilled the Scriptures & was God's perfect Sacrifice for them & all mankind. And here in Hebrews 13, we get another glimpse to this in verses 10 to 15.
As in the old days of sacrificing animals on the altar for the sins of the people, the Hebrews writer here speaks of the special sacrifice that was made on the Day of Atonement. On that day, the bullock & goat were sacrificed on the altar but only their blood was used for sprinkling on the Mercy Seat & horns of the Altar; the flesh of these animals were not eaten as in some other sacrifices, but were taken far away from the Tabernacle & their carcases burnt. You can read about this part in Leviticus chapter 16.
So in Hebrews 13, the writer states, that as the burnt offering was then taken outside the camp for complete burning, so too Jesus fulfilled this great Act of Atonement when He too was crucified outside Jerusalem, at Golgotha. And His Blood that was shed there, was pleasing to His Father (as was required with the animals' blood in the Tabernacle), showing that only through His Son's Blood & faith in His Sacrifice, would God accept those who come to Him.
Therefore, knowing what Christ did for us, & that there can be no fence-sitters or those looking at Jesus from afar (as Peter did in Matthew 26:58), the Hebrews writer urges the believers' complete identification & faithfulness to Jesus by joining Him 'outside the camp' - and if we do so, we too might suffer hatred as He did and we must do so gladly, for "here we have no continuing city, but we seek one to come"; that is, our citizenship is in Heaven. May we live this life with such a sure hope ( Philippians 3:20).
I now see and thank God in Jesus Name that the answers are beginning to come. For that reason, i thank you all here on the web every day, i am eternally grateful. There are such things so I see no one but God could have done this. : D
He is with us every day to the end of the world! Never forget that. The words i was reminded of today are in
Philippians 3:8-11 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. Amen
Stay Blessed in His Holy Name above all other names Fhilippians 2:9 Jesus Christ, Love u all in Christ.
But when Saul met the risen Jesus on the road to Damascus, he instantly learned that the Christians he was hunting down & killing were serving this Jesus Whom he was encountering at that very moment. Saul was a changed man & as he learned more from Jesus, with the Spirit filling him to believe & serve, he could say in Philippians 3:7-10, that all that he had learned & believed were now useless & filthy. The new knowledge gained directly from Jesus revealed his errors as a Pharisee - his trusting in the Law to make him righteous could never work, but now having only faith in Christ to save him, did.
I trust you can see how wonderfully the revelation of Christ to Saul changed him from a strict Pharisee (Saul) to one of a humble obedient servant of Jesus (Paul) trusting in Christ now & moved in his spirit to reach out to his countrymen & also to the Gentiles.
1 Corinthians 1:18
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
Galatians 5:11
And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.
Galatians 6:14
But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
Ephesians 2:16
And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
Philippians 2:8
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Philippians 3:18
(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
Colossians 1:20
And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
Colossians 2:14
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Hebrews 12:2
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
*Next 2 verses referring to Jesus
Numbers 21:8
And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a POLE: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, SHALL LIVE.
Numbers 21:9
And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, HE LIVED.
Mathew 3:10-11.
I would like to add one or two more things that I believe is to be very important. Whether by water baptism or baptism by the Holyspirit, is it evident in your life that spiritual baptism has taken place.
You will run into 2 major groups engage on this topic. One group is those who believe you are saved by confessing Jesus and keeping the commandments. Some of this group believe you can lose your salvation. This group is bond to a work base religion.
The other group believes "for by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Even the faith you are being saved through is not your faith! it is a gift of God!
You have nothing to offer God in terms of salvation! I hold this view.
True baptism when you "GENUINELY" accept Christ as your savior there is production in your life that begins. You can't produce it or keep it from producing as you feed on the word.
I will share a few by verses below and hopefully others can expand on them or add to.
Notice Paul' he didn't have much to say about water baptism, but he had a lot to say about baptism by the Holyspirit.
Romans 6:4.
Romans 6:6-8.
Romans 6:11.
It does well to study all of Romans 6 to expand a little on "the production' of spiritual baptism.
JOHNS BAPTISM.
you can see a picture of this transition for the Jews drawn out for you by Paul in Romans 7:1-2. Read all.
Now read Mathew 3:10-11.
Israel was a natural branch that didn't bear fruit. Jeremiah 2:21. "Nor could it"
Also read Mathew 21:42-44. and John 15:1-7.
Now let's get back to our 2 groups.
You have the 1st group I mentioned that put themselves in bondage as did Israel and despising the truth.
believing in baptism outwardly but unbaptized inwardly.
EXAMPLE: Romans 2:25-29.
The 2nd group
Philippians 3:3.
Galatians 3:13.
John 8:36.
The outcome.
1John 2:3.
1 John 4:21.
This Love cannot be produced by self.
God bless.
the gospel, I.E. giving His credentials according to the flesh under the law Philippians 3:1-15 and in Galatians
all of Chapter one because of how many believers were walking away from what he taught.
So, indeed, Paul did "count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ" ( Philippians 3:8). Obviously, he was referring to the wealth of knowledge & interpretation of the Scriptures that had to be cast aside so that Christ might be fully apprehended, but I wonder whether he included, in his 'new' single state, that this had to be his lot for the furtherance of this newly acquired powerful Gospel that he had received & which filled him?
It's funny how We share views of Scripture It's not the dialog that often breaks the peace It's what's sown within that reflects outwardly.
You don't have to give your view, just post the scripture and there's contention!
We shouldn't be surprised
The concept is all through scripture.
John 1:4-5.
No one is going out to seek contention, It's already there.
( Example)
Matthew 10:32-38.
God don't compromise his Holiness to exercise judgment and I don't think he asks us to when dividing the word.
We have to wonder If we're not going to win them over and they know they're not going to win us over, Why are they so adamant on keeping this dialog going? Perhaps they're after the audience. And this is where I believe 2 John 1:10-11 applies.
And if we've been battling this for I know over a year!! Perhaps this verse apply.
Matthew 7:6.
My question was when do it apply and if we're so fundamental about everything else why not this?
In the secular we call the democrats "liberals" But aren't we also as a whole.
And this especially goes for those who say salvation is by works and not by grace when Paul makes that clear all through Galatians starting here-
Galatians 1:6-8.
Paul says let them be a curse
But we call them Brother.
He also emphasize it in
Philippians 3:2-11. And this is the only "religion" given to Man and it slew us.
Now this is a peaceful dialog that you and I are having but some would say it's contentious.
And by the way I have been guilty of this as well, that's why I carefully say WE.
Yes this is difficult but did the Lord say it wouldn't be?
Be strong in the Lord
God bless.
