    Francisca,

A eunuch is somebody who is unable to produce children. That is just a general definition without getting into it. Matthew 19:12 says, But there are some eunuchs, first of all: which were so born from their mother's womb. They were born with a physical defect and are not able to produce children.

And there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: That is, people take them and they castrate them, which is what they did for the guards that had to guard the harems for the various royalty and kings. They were castrated so that they would not have a desire for a woman.

And there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. That's personal. It's a calling, and it is self-discipline!

In first Corinthians Chapter 7, Paul answered the question, and this is the area of marriage and divorce, and remarriage for the Gentiles. But Paul says it is best if everybody is just a like I am.

Paul says that he is single, and it is best if you stay like I am. And if you have the grace to do it, stay single. That is 1 Corinthians 7:8.

But, he says in 1 Corinthians 7:9 that if you cannot contain yourself, and you are burning with passion, then it is better to get married.

Those are the three kinds of people, people born with the physical defect, people who have been castrated, or a personal calling that God is giving you the grace to be single. And if God hasn't given you the grace to be single, and you are burning with passion, Paul says it is best to get married.

What is the meaning of eunuchs in the bible?

Matthew 19:24, Mark 10:25, Luke 18:25 are the scriptures about the eye of a needle. In ancient times the big doors of a city was locked at night. People parked their camels outside and entered the city through a small door; known as the eye of a needle
Jesus was saying it would be easier for a camel to go through the eye of the needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. I guess love of money is a problem.

Matthew 19:24 And again I (Jesus) say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. Mark 10:23 And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
Mark 10:24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!

You can find the "Eye Of A Needle" scripture in these books: Matthew 19:24, Mark 10-25 and Luke 18:25.
Read down to them because the incident begins before Jesus says the verse.

Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let US (plural) make man in (OUR) image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Matthew 19:5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain (2) shall be one (1) flesh?

17...if thou wilt enter into Life.
21... thou shalt have Treasure In HEAVEN.
23...shall hardly enter into the KINGDOM Of HEAVEN.
    24...the KINGDOM Of GOD.
    28...The Throne Of HIS GLORY.
    29... Shall inherit EVERLASTING LIFE.
notice in these verses JESUS mind is on SALVATION for us, plus notice how JESUS teaches us about SALVATION using different wordings in this chapter, other chapters also, nevertheless the intent of JESUS HEART is always we become SAVED from the lake of fire. John 3:16-21 direct us to SALVATION thereby we are decide if we will accept SALVATION through JESUS.

Notice the words of jesus in verse 14, 17, 21, 23, 24, 28, 29. example: verse 14 ...the kingdom of heaven. verse 17... but if thou wilt enter into life. verse 21... and thou shalt have treasure in heaven. verse 23...the kingdom of heaven. verse 24...enter into the kingdom of god. verse 28...the throne of his glory. verse 29...shall inherit everlasting life. ....all these verses teach us how jesus taught the same thing or salvation in different ways. john 3:16-21 is another very good verse applicable to these verses.

  • Jesus Holds My Babies on Matthew 19 - 5 years ago
I Never Held my Babies in a Warm and Loving Embrace or Watched with Wonder the Joy that Brightened their Face I never saw their Smiles or held them in my arms or was I ever Enraptured by all their Childlike charms. Although my dreams were many and I longed to Hold them Close the Joy of their Childhood I never was to know. They are my Precious Ones and will always be in my Heart and my Love for them will never ever depart. Do I understand Gods purposes in this life I may never know but I Trust and Believe His Promise only His Love will be Shown. For deep within my Heart I know without a doubt that my Children are in Heaven that is what His Grace is All about.Matthew19:14

eunuchs, are castrated men. Some did this themselves so they would not sin in sexual things and some rulers did this to their servants so he could trust them not to have sex with his kin or his other servants.

In Matthew 19:5 it talks about man leaving father and mother and clinging to his wife. I was wondering, back in those days, in order to be married in the eyes of God, did the marriage have to go through an established government to receive documents for proof of marriage like they do today?

Matthew 19:9 - And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

There's nothing wrong with stories preached by preachers. Jesus preached many such stories. They are called parables.

I have read or heard the same thing as Gonzalo. If it is true or not I don't know. But that's not the point. That eye or a sewing needles eye, it is hard for a rich man to entry into Heaven. But not impossible.

Salvation is in following the word of god by the way of the messiah.. Hebrews 9:15. ..for eternal inheritance, by way of following his commandments Matthew 19:16. words of advice, you should willfully attempt to follow the words of TMH, with faith and works, james 2:20-22, by the way of the messiah Colosians 3:17. Your judgement will be based on faith, works, and your acceptance of the savior.

The laws statues, commandments, were only given to the Israelites, Romans 9:1-5, Salvation is only for the Israelites Luke 1:68-75, you must walk in faith and works James 2:22. The new Kingdom is for Israel, Jeremiah 31:31, Hebrews 8:8. To get eternal life you must do the commandments of God Matthew 19:16, 1 John 5:3, John 14:15, Ecclesiastes 12:13. God hates the sinners Ecclesiasticus 12:6.

When the worlds ways get into your way. There's God close by, to strengthen you. When someone ruins your plans by being-- ME. MYSELF. AND I COME FIRST--Give it to God to show you the right way. When God gives you Wisdom that you asked for, and others use their own way. Know God is close telling you the right way: PRAISE GOD FOR THE ALONE TIME-- YOU NOW NEED WITH HIM!!

To understand this passage, read Matthew 19:1-9, which gives God's plan for marriage ( Genesis 2:24). Adam considered Eve part of himself; therefore, "Therefore what God has joined together let not man separate." ( Matthew 19:6). If the marriage vows are broken by infidelity, divorce is allowed ( Matthew 5:32). Threat to a spouse's life, desertion and forced prostitution are valid grounds, also.

It easier for a Camel to go through The Eye of a Needle, than for a Rich man to Enter The Kingdom of God. When His Disciples Heard it they were exceedingly Amazed, saying, Who then can be Saved? Matthew 19:24-25. They Knew The Lord is Telling Them it's Impossible for a Rich man to Enter The Kingdom. / There's no Door Call Eye of a Needle, never has been. Only by The Blood of The Lamb do we Enter
