Replying to Pat, in researching this what is the foundation of verse 40? You would have to go back to Jonah 1:17 where it says he was in the belly of the fish 3 days & 3 nights. So if we doubt that Christ & Jonah were in the grave & fish for 3 days & 3 nights, can we also have reason to doubt the creation and that God created everything in 6 days & nights and rested on the seventh, or did it really rain for 40 days & 40 nights at the time of the flood. As for me I believe what the Word of God says.
Next in Ex. 12:3-6 where it talks about the Passover lamb (which I believe represents the Messiah) and that it should be brought in on the 10th day and examined 4 days before it is sacrificed on the 14th day. And as verse 5 states without blemish (just like the Messiah). I relate this with Christ riding into Jerusalem on the donkey in Matt 11:1-11. Would this not be what we know as Psalm Sunday? So my next question is if Christ entered into Jerusalem on Sun. and was examined for 4 days as spoken of in Ex. would not that mean Christ was crucified on Wed. and rose at the end of the Sabbath and not Fri. or else we have to move Psalm Sunday to Tues. for the 4 day examination to work and get a Fri. crucifixion and a Mon resurrection if you apply the 3 day and 3 nights.

Please don't get me wrong. I am not knocking the Bible etc it is not wrong. I know that it is my understanding of it which is wrong and I would appreciate any help in understanding this point.

re Dennis Meyer I find the 3 days and 3 nights confusing and would welcome some research. As far as I can see Fri night and Sat night are two nights - he was up on Sunday morning. Early.

If Jesus himself said in verse 40 that he would be in the grave for 3 days & 3 nights, why does the church world not abide by that? And by us not doing so, do we call Christ a liar? Do we need to research this more?

don't understand what is not forgiven. aren't all sins forgiven if you repent and are truly sorry? aren't the father and the son and the holy spirit one in the same?

It's not hard to tell if one is a Christian, what comes out of someone defines there God, A true Christian will always be talking about their Jesus, not the world or the things of the world.

Notice that Jesus doesn't call Mary his sister or his brother, He calls Mary his Mother. Now if the Son of God is speaking as the Son of God and says all these people are of God not because they are related to Him but because they do Gods will. We also see from that that if Jesus had seen Mary as only a 'willing vessel' He would not have specifically called His mother mother, He would have called her a sister. He reserves that title for her and only her.

This verse shows that one can not take a neutral position. There are only 2 sides to take. The choice is still there of which side a person decides to take, but either way the person will have to deal with the consequences of that choice.

A house divided against itself cannot stand. Wether it be a family or a nation even a religion. The democrats and the republicans are deeply divided. That house will fall. Catholics and Protestants. That house will fall. The Muslim house is divided. Believers and unbelievers. There are are so many divisions in this world because the devil rules by division. However God will bring all into agreement and unity. Conflicts will become a thing of the past. All will be united in the kingdom of God.

Since we have entered into the millennium sabbath all works that we do is out of line. But God himself is coming down to work for the whole thousand years. We worship not the sun. We only worship in spirit and truth which means the power of the spirit is with us.

Whatever is happening in my life externally, whether good or bad is a true reflection of what is happening internally.That is why I have to guard my heart with all diligence because my heart is a production centre for my life according to Proverbs 4;23

Praise the Lord he has taken all those ritual days away now we can rest on any day because church is every day with Jesus its not about the what you eat or were, its about the heart condition now its all spiritual and they that worship our Father must worship him in spirit and in truth. When were born again we receive the Holy Spirit into our hearts and now he needs feeding the word so that we can start to live a righteous life so who cares what day we rest so long as its in the word. I pray that who ever reads this has eyes to see ears to hear and a heart to receive. One last thing my theory why we go to churh on Sunday because most people work frim Mondsy yo Saturday and can only come together on Sunday?God Bless

what ever you have stored up or held on to in your heart is what is going to come out of you whether it be good or bad in word or deed. You need to love so that love will be in your heart and come out of you. God bless you.

When I was a teenager I committed a sin for which I've since repented and asked forgiveness for; a sin for which I've always wondered and feared may not have been forgiven. I find comfort in verse 31, and my mind and heart have been put to ease. I weep tears of joy as I type this. I thank the Lord Jesus Christ for leading me to this verse.

It says that the 7th day of the week, Saturday, is the Lord's Day; not Sunday which is the first day of the week. People err in referring to Sunday as the Lord's Day. It is not biblical. Also, there is no biblical evidence that the Sabbath was ever "transferred" to the first day of the week.

Please do a little research if you will; in those days, a day consisted of only 12 hours. Also refer back to old Jewish calendar.

All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not unto death. We that are spiritual are to seek to restore in the spirit of meekness, less we be tempted, the one who has committed a sin not leading to death. Matthew 12:31 refers to that generation that rejected Jesus Christ, they committed the sin unto death. It is true if you die in unbelief, you have committed the sin of blasphemy. We will only know once we get to heaven, and stand before the Savior who shall declare what every man shall receive. We are to examine ourselves, and see that we are in the Faith. These things are written that we sin not, but if any man sins we have an Advocate with the Father, who is Jesus Christ, the righteous one.

Shalom! The sign of Jonah was the only sign given to the Jews, that Jesus was indeed the Messiah. This sign was asked for as a miracle. It symbolized the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord. To be reckoned by the Jews as dead He had to be in the heart of the earth 3 days and 3 nights. Jews embalmed after 3 days the body. When the women went Sunday morning Jesus was at least 3 full days dead. Because nights are mentioned He has to be 72 hours in the heart of the earth. His resurrection was the miracle and preached through the disciples, many believed, but the leaders did not repent, they spread a lie, that His disciples had stolen the body, in spite of a guard at the tomb. Nineveh repented as a nation, Israel missed it, and was destroyed in 70 AD.

When the spirit of idolatry is gone out of the Jewish nation by means of the Babylonian captivity, the Jewish nation is now free from idolatry today. The spirit of idolatry walketh through the abode of demons, seeking rest, and findeth none, the spirit of idolatry saith, I will return into the nation of Israel from whence I came out; and when the spirit of idolatry is come, he findeth the Jewish nation empty, swept, and garnished because of the ministry of John the Baptist and Jesus. Then the spirit of idolatry goes, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of the Jewish nation is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto "this wicked generation" (Race), Matthew 12:43-45.

Jesus is GOD! For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace ( Isaiah 9:6). Adam disobeyed God. Noah walked with God. Abraham believed God. None of these were prophet.

Can you elaborate on this verse Verse 32 “And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come”.

Jesus (peace be upon him) is not God. He was sent by God as Messenger like Adam, Noah, Abraham, God sent him for whole mankind.
