Historisn Paul? Nebeel calls Paul a historian.
    Nebeel, read ACTS chapters 8 & 9.
this will show you that Paul was really Saul before accepting JESUS CHRIST into his life. After this JESUS CHRIST sent Paul to the gentils (you and me) to preach the gospel.

Dear Mel, i didn't found any wrong in Ezakiel 18:21. its true. but it doesn't mean that some one can pay for others sin. According to roman 5:8, why every child born in sin. did adam (PBUH) ever asked us before he eats the forbidden fruit. then how can we responsible for that. if your father killed a man, can we hang u for that. as human we know that it is unjust. will god almighty do such a injustice for us. this is illogical brother.
brother, did Jesus (PBUH) ever said that i died for your sins. this is the comments of historians. why are you'll giving more grade to historians than your lord Jesus's (PBUH).
for an example in Matthew (19:16-17) "And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?""And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? [there is] none good but one, [that is], God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments." but st.Paul comments in 1 Corinthians (15:14) "And if Christ be not risen, then [is] our preaching vain, and your faith [is] also vain."
we can find contradiction in these comments of Jesus (PBUH) & st.Paul. Jesus (PBUH) said to keep the law & commandment to enter the the eternal life. but according to st.paul all our good deeds are useless unless chist didn't risn from the dead. no where in gospels jesus (PBUH) said that "Belief i died for your sins to enter the eternal life" at least as a least commandment. but our Christian brothers giving more grade to historians like st.paul than the jesus (PBUH), though it contradict to christ (PBUH). is this the way you are respecting & loving Jesus (PBUH)?
  • Mel on Matthew 12 - 15 years ago
This is for Nabeel. If you study it out you'd find that Jesus spent 3 days and 3 nights amongst man.The clutches of the world before he started suffering for our sins. As far as your comment in Ezekiel, you forgot to keep it in context. when you read on you'll find "But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die." Ezekiel 18:21
    Also for you Romans 5:8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, CHRIST DIED for us.
    God Bless
  • Nabeel on Matthew 12 - 15 years ago
This is for mel. in John 19:30-37 these words from an eye witness. not from jesus christ (PBUH). but if u read Matthew 12:38-40, these words utter by jesus christ (PBUH) him self. john says that the soldier found jesus christ (PBUH) was dead according to him. But in gospel st. matthew Jesus christ (PBUH) says that his sign was jonah's (PBUH) sign. as jonah (PBUH) was alive in the belly of the wahale, Jesus Christ (PBUH) also alive the heart heart of the earth. now you decide who is speaking the truth. Jesus (PBUH) or the eye witness.
and the second thing is, no any person can pay for others sin. "The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him" ezekiel (18:20).
  • Mel on Matthew 12 - 15 years ago
This is for Nabeel. If you read John19:30-37 you would see that Jesus did die and so yes there is resurrection. He did this for you and for me because we are sinners and can't possibly pay for all we've done

    derek,
I was reminded by the Lord's Holy WORD as follows!

DOERS OF THE SCRIPTURE ARE NEEDED BIGTIME!

Come on now. You really need to read this carefully. SCRIPTURE IS PLAIN. SCRIPTURE IS THE ONLY WAY WE KNOW JESUS! MANY only go to church on sun-day because the catholics made them. They changed the calendar and PASSED IT DOWN AS MAN'S TRADITION. They DID NOT ADHERE TO SCRIPTURE, AND THEREBY FORGOT TO REMEMBER TO KEEP THE SABBATH DAY HOLY. THIS is not being said lightly. TRADITIONS CONTRADICT SCRIPTURE. WHEN THEY DO THEY MUST BE PUT DOWN IN FAVOR OF HOLY SCRIPTURE. IF not we don't have any faith in what the scripture says because FAITH COMETH BY HEARING AND HEARING BY THE WORD OF GOD! Those that changed sabbath to sunday have abandoned the faith that cometh by hearing that comes by the word of God. Go ahead study to show thyself approved and don't trust any man. Let EVERY MAN be A LIAR BUT LET GOD BE TRUE! HE IS TRUE IN HIS WORD!

Exodus 31:13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.

Exodus 31:16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.

Psalm 119:6 Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

John 15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

Now, some may quote 2 Corinthians 3:6 "Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life."

But what is also TRUE THROUGH AND THROUGH IS THIS SCRIPTURE FROM JESUS HIMSELF THE FULFILLMENT OF THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS: " John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life."

What "letter" of the law is being spoken of here? Is it the letter of the law that is indicated in the following scripture? 2 Peter 1:20-21 "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." Is it the "letter" of the law that is being spoken of in this scripture? 2 Timothy 3:15-17 "And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."

ALL SCRIPTURE includes old an new testament. Circumcision of the male organ is the judaizing factor which is ABSOLUTELY NOT NECESSARY unless it involves the "CIRCUMCISION OF THE HEART FROM AN EVIL HEART OF UNBELIEF."

Jesus said to keep His commandments! One of them is to remember to keep the sabbath day holy as a sign of Him as we await and prepare for His coming. the catholic church changed the calendar to sunday, the first day of the week and the catholics will boast and brag quite boldly that they did because of their IMMENSE POWER. So much is their boldness that they berate protestants who SAY they believe the bible first and foremost for their not keeping the SCRIPTURAL SABBATH. Catholics despise what they call sola scriptura and if they see waffling or weakness or inadherence to the scriptures by those that SAY they adhere to scripture first and foremost, they take every opportunity to impugn their RESOLVE, because they SAY and DO NOT DO!

JESUS IS THE FULFILLMENT OF THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS. The New Testament is NO REPLACWEMENT OF THE OLD. IT IS THE FULFILLMENT! Need proof! Here are some EXPLICIT references AS WRITTEN IN THE King James Bible, TRUE THROUGH AND THROUGH IN EVERY WORD!

    Matthew 1:22
Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

    Matthew 2:17
Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying,

    Matthew 2:23

    Matthew 4:14
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

    Matthew 8:17
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

    Matthew 12:17
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

    Matthew 13:14
And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

    Matthew 13:35
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

    Matthew 21:4
All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,

    Matthew 24:34
Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

    Matthew 26:54
But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?

    Matthew 26:56
But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.

    Matthew 27:9
    Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;

    Matthew 27:35
And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.

    Mark 1:15
And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

    Mark 13:4
Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?

    Mark 14:49
I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled.

    Mark 15:28
And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors.

    Luke 1:20
And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.

    Luke 2:43
And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.

    Luke 4:21
And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

    Luke 21:22
For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

    Luke 21:24
And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

Put away yuor tradition and take up the tradition of GOD ACCORDING TO HIS WORD. HIS WORD IS PLAINLY TRUE. IF you can read it, you can rely on it, even if you do not fully understand it. Ask and YE shall receive will take care of that part. Any lesser standard of belief in HIS HOLY WORD, is accepting the traditions of men and those are the "LETTERS" that "KILL" and those are what JESUS DECRIED AND BERATED THE PHARISEES ABOUT.

If you still insist the Sabbath, the token of JESUS CHRIST AND MESSIAH is not important or "JEWISH", since when have you as a believer in JESUS been CUT OUT OF THE OLIVE TREE'S ROOT AND FATNESS. You as a believer in JESUS ARE GRAFTED IN TO THE ROOT AND FATNESS THAT IS JESUS OUR KING. The Jews wre broken off for unbelief, and do you think you with unbelief will fare any better? Look it up. If it says "unto all your generations" or "perpetually" or "everlasting" etc. do we disregard that these words have EXTREMELY important meanings to ALL BELIEVERS? If you will keep the tradition of separation and GOD FORBID hatred of JEWS, YOU HAVE IGNORED the STORY OF RUTH AND THE WORDS OF THIS GENTILE MOABITESS HAVE BEEN FORGOTTEN. LET THEM NEVER FALL FROM YOUR LIPS. "YOUR GOD SHALL BE MY GOD AND YOUR PEOPLE SHALL BE MY PEOPLE!"

STOP WITH THE TRADITION ALREADY! DO IT ACCORDING TO THE PLAIN WORD OF GOD, HIS WORDS ARE SPIRIT AND THEY ARE LIFE!!!!

Jonah (PBUH) was alive in the belly of the whale for three days. he didn't die. to fulfill the prophecy, Jesus (PBUH) also should be alive in the tomb for thee days. for a person to resurrect, he should die. if the death is not taking place, where is the question for resurrection. in this verse ( Matthew 12:38-40) Jesus (PBUH) confirms that he didn't die and he didn't resurrect. my Christian brothers cant understand this simple English in this King James version.

wesley is also correct because a man seeing the powerful works at hand would have to take a stand with christ or against christ. the pharisees chose against and took stand to slander christ but the work was of his father. Christ: for it is not i who speak but my father who has spoken though me. in no scholar but this seems pretty clear to me

I love to study GOD'S WORD.VERSES 3-4 JESUS spoke of David. I went to 1Samuel 21/1-6. I noticed that the priest required David's abedience of the law from David and his men before he was allowed to eat the shew bread. On this side of the cross JESUS'S WORD is LAW. verse 34b "out of the abundance of the heart the mouth seaketh" We need to make sure that we don't have (heart trouble.)

    Please read and understand:

There remains no excuse for those people who do not realize that God’s image is masculine and feminine. All of God’s creation generally declares the masculine and feminine image of Elohiym. It is clear that out of Adam came forth a female Adam who was genetically bone of his bones, flesh of his flesh (see Genesis 2:22-25). The masculine Adam and the feminine Eve reveal the image of the spiritual Father
(Melchizedek) and Mother (Holy Spirit/El Shaddai/Shekinah). The removal of Adam’s rib to make a woman is a reflection of how Elohiym became masculine and feminine. Out of Adam came forth a female Adam (Eve) who was equal in all things. Adam was only perceptually first amongst his feminine equal, since Eve was always within Adam and is Adam. This same paradigm reflects the presence of Elohiym. Out of subatomic negative darkness of God the Father came the positive light of God the Mother (Holy Spirit), who are the atoms in all things. The Father (subatomic darkness) seemed to be first amongst equals. In the heavenly sense of the earthly parallel, the Holy Spirit, who came forth from the eternal subatomic darkness, always dwelt in the intangible eternal body. Accordingly, the eternal body of darkness became masculine (darkness) and feminine (light), just as Adam became genetically male and female. The feminine Holy Spirit has her reflection in the feminine part of creation. She is our heavenly and earthly Mother, whose greatest image is seen in the form of Eve. Our universal spiritual parents are Elohiym. Elohiym (Gods, plural) said, “Let US (God the spiritual Father and spiritual Mother) make man (Adam and Eve) in OUR image (masculine and feminine), after OUR likeness” (see Genesis 1:26, 27). This reveals how the invisible things of Elohiym are clearly revealed by the things they have recalled. Wisdom is personified as a woman in Proverbs 8:1. Wisdom is none other than the words of the feminine Holy Spirit. The feminine Holy Spirit is the Glory of the masculine part of Elohiym. God has possessed Wisdom (words/thoughts of the feminine Holy Spirit) from the very beginning of Elohiym’s ways (see Proverbs 8:22). Wisdom was set up (came forth) from everlasting (darkness of God). Thereby, Wisdom came out of God (everlasting), as Eve came out (Adam’s rib) of Adam (see Proverbs 8:23).

The people of today who sin against Wisdom (Holy Spirit) by rejecting present truth have freely chosen to be forever lost (see Proverbs 8:36). When a person rejects present truth (this new doctrine), he or she is rejecting the latter-day words of Wisdom (Holy Spirit) and committing the unpardonable sin (see Matthew 12:31). To swallow an abomination is to believe that Elohiym is not masculine and feminine, as reflected through their greatest earthly image (Adam and Eve). Man and woman are the final reflection of Elohiym. There are three that bear record in heaven: the Father, the word (two-sided scroll of life), and the feminine Holy Ghost (Mother), as alluded to in 1 John 5:7. The Father being Melchizedek and the word being the Son and Daughter, then the Holy Ghost/Shekinah is the Mother. There can be no son or daughter without a father and mother. Accordingly, the Holy Spirit is the eternal Father’s feminine equal.

Revelation 12:1: And there appeared a great wonder in
HEAVEN; a WOMAN {image of the Holy Spirit} clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a CROWN {Queen of heaven} of twelve stars:

According to the word of the LORD the rock from whence we are hewn is a comet( Psalms 18: 12, 13; Daniel 2: 34, 35; Revelation 8: 11; 9: 1 - too many others to mention) that struck the earth in the previous timeline which will occur again in our generation ( Ecclesiastes 1:9, 10; 3: 15; 12: 1-8) the impact of the comet creates an immense pit in the earth ( Isaiah 5: 14; Psalms 55: 23; 94: 14; Jeremiah 48:44; Matthew 12:11; Revelation 11:7; Revelation 20:1). The 144,000 mentioned in Revelation 14 are the ones who escape the effects of the comet impact that destroys all life on earth ( Isaiah 1:9; Ezekiel 12:16).

As Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale, and then came out again alive, thus Christ would be so long in the grave, and then rise again.
    # Jonah (PBUH) did not die in the belly of the whale according to the book of jonah. so where is the question for "coming out alive again". he didn't risn from the dead.

    Gwen,

The Queen of the South is Sheba (iKings10:1-13) She sought wisdom and truth and was satisfied when instructed by Solomon about the one true God of Israel. Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, is greater than Solomon and thus deserves more respect and attention to his words. The chapter shows the self-righteous wanting to ignore God in the flesh in their presence and condem him for not following their rules. For that they will be judged. Is Jesus only a man, only a prophet, only a teacher? He is the savior/Messiah come to die for the sins of the world. Did he die for you and pay for your sins? Do you know "about" him or is he your personal saviour? The self-righteous couldn't recognize him, can you?
  • Richard on Matthew 12 - 16 years ago
    Ms Gwen,
This verse(42), is another parable spoken by Jesus, to try to tell us in a picture, using words, how to become ready for His coming.
She(the Queen), is any woman, whom at that time
of Moses heard throughly and searched from "the outermost parts of the earth", to gain all the wisdom of Solomon, and... because that was the primary focus of her life, she as "any woman" was able to make judgement on the World, condemn it and SEE JESUS!!.....Vs.42 ....."behold, a greater than Solomon is here." (Jesus)
Any woman, including you, can become, Queen of the South, if You believe on Him, search both Gospels for the wisdom of Solomon, and go to the ends of the earth if need be, to keep Jesus and his words, FIRST in your life. You too, can judge the world, and condemn the sins that you see, thus seeing Jesus, as HE IS COMING AGAIN!
( not my words, go to Lk.11/31, and Matthew Henry's commentary )
Do not be discouraged if you still do not understand. The "Queen", had to search the world. Now we can pray directly to Jesus for undestanding, and we're still washed of our sins, in our lifelong search for Him on this earth. Then, by Grace only,we are Heaven bound. God bless. Ya'll, please pray for Pam. Come back to us...
  • Gwen on Matthew 12 - 16 years ago
Can someone please explain to me what this means? I am studing the word and wnat to understand.
42The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon [is] here.

Thank Jesus for Mr. Matthew's, " His mother and bretheren stood without, desiring to speak with him, when they should.....desiring to hear him."
The Holy Spirit has ordained me for more than a decade, and my "preparation" is now illustrated as merely an excuse to not walk in the door as Christ prepared me. I MUST take this knowledge and grace and fearlessly enter the door, and prayerfully do his work, as is written in scripture. Thank you Jesus, your will be done.
I will prepare, and serve more... Richard

I liked the illustration of the withered hand representing our human weakness. Mathew Henry's reference to Christ's love is always so special and touching. I appreciated reading that repetence isa gift Christ offers us.

This verse tells us that God will forgive us any sin for which the wages thereof is death if we ask or our brethren askes for forgiveness if they repent in prayer, but he will not forgive the sin which there is no forgiveness; that is unto death: blasphemy of the holy spirit . And we shall not pray for it or them
Matthew 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy [against] the [Holy] Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
