First if your a charismatic ITS IMPOSSIBLE to blaspheme the Holy Ghost and be not forgiven. You can only blaspheme The Holy Ghost when Christ was physically on the earth. Pharisees thought Christs miracles was from devil possession. The only time you can blaspheme the holy ghost in the future is when Christ returns to rule the earth from his davidic throne

Linda; Blasphemy means to speak evil of, to reproach. Speaking evil of, or Reproaching the Spirit of God; as in saying that the Lord Jesus Christ has an unclean spirit; cannot be forgiven in this life or the next. Of all the sins and blasphemies that men do; Jesus said that all will be forgiven EXCEPT THAT! We must follow the Lord's example of how to deal with or speak to such.

The blasphemy of the Holy Ghost is talk against him.
Saying that he is a devil.

What is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit?

Let us all come together ..as a family ...our focus on our Lord ..Jesus..to do the will of The Father ..

"Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men." There are some things that are so horrible that we cannot dare to think it possible that Jesus was also referring to THEM when He said this. Not every girl who is pressured to abort her baby deserves to be permanently cursed and condemned. There are wicked forces at work which go about to deceive and devour us!

"...And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath days? that they might accuse him." We should read all three accounts (Matthew, Mark, and Luke) of these things to see completely what happened. While the Lord defends the guiltless against religious impostors' hatred and hostility, He still tries to instruct those who have no heart to know the truth or any right understanding.

"All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way: and the LORD hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all." Isaiah 53:6 "Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world." John 1:29 Christ died for our sins ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES! The Lord Jesus told the Jews who did not believe on Him; "If you believe not that I AM, you shall die in your sins."

to 6/30/2017 Comment by "insight777" about Matthew Chapter 12: Abel, who was the first to do offer a slaughtered lamb in coming to present himself to God, was setting in order his accounting of himself to God, with a token of the absolutely fundamental fact of his existence; that of the LORD's Anointed coming in flesh to destroy the works of the devil, and save man from his sins.
  • Insight777 on Matthew 12 - 7 years ago
V12, Jesus is amazing. No sheep is better than a man. So how does a sheep that is less than a man have the greater value to release man from sin bondage? Jesus said all men have sin, those without sin cast the first stone of "death for sin". They can't. You are freed from sin by forgiving each other and joining in spirit with God in water baptism. No death required.

"Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him. But when Jesus knew, he withdrew himself from thence: and great crowds followed him, and he healed them all; and charged them that they should not make him known:" Jesus doesn't overpower his enemies to show them by force; nor does He need public displays to further the Spirit's work for His righteous cause.

LU2677 - Yes, you are very right about "I believe". I had changed my mind about that, but hadn't gotten around to it. And I appreciate the way you presented your post - friendly, not condemning, judgmental, angry, and not holier-than-thou. These are not referring to you.
  • Lu2677 on Matthew 12 - 8 years ago
I believe God's word is true; Matthew:36-37 "But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words, shalt thou be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned."
The words "I believe" are not wrong to use, as long as they are followed by God's truth and not personal opinions, or imaginations.

Jesus demonstrates his Bible scholarship all thru out the NT. He is challenged at every turn by the Pharisees, who were scripture lawyers. Have you not read, he would tell, what was said of old concerning David, of whose lineage Jesus sprang forth, thru his mother, Mary. These accounts are meant for our sake! Irene correctly confirms the importance of the OT. Don't be phony Christians VP

There are people who start their comments with "I think" , "I believe" - and I have been guilty of that on here. We need to use Jesus' example; He said, "It is written", "It is said", "Have ye not read". He never once said, "I think" or I believe". Jesus KNEW the O.T. scriptures and He used them. It's not what we think or believe; it's what His word says. It's all about Him, not us.

Who is the provider of life ? Is it not God ? Who is the savior which walked before the the host of the children of Israel to deliver them from the criminal hands of the wicked peoples ?It is the Lord. Why Joshua can ask to the children of Israel to choose whom they will serve ? Joshua was in doubt because of the incredulity of the children of Israel: they seemed unthankful unto God they had intent to leave God for doing idolatry works despite God has delivered them from mighty enemies. God is the provider of our life that is Him we must serve. Jesus has paid our debt on the cross that we might be free from biggest enemy Satan and the condemnation. If we choose not to serve God, Jesus, because of incredulity and ingratitude, we shall surly fall in the hands of the enemy who will destroy us. Remember what the Lord Jesus says in Matthew 12:43-45.

    V. 41 - The men of Nineveh ..... repented; that's a miracle right there - when you read the story of Jonah. Nineveh was the capital of the Assyrians - stringent enemies of Israel and their God. It's easy to see why Jonah detested them and tried to get away from this 'job' God had assigned him.

The last verse is a refreshing testimony as to the mind of God. The Lord Jesus naural mother is no more important than one who does the will of the Father. It could be an enlightenment to the Catholic Church.

Eric, its clear that you love the Scriptures, and spend a lot of time reading; or you wouldn't know them so well. But you want to be able to communicate effectively the things the Lord has shown you. Remember in Ezra, where the Levites helped explain the sense and the meaning of the word, as it was read to them, and the people rejoiced because they could understand? That's what we want also.

Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation? O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come. My mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever. And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me? Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation. These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me for they are thine. While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition that the scripture might be fulfilled. And all flesh shall see the salvation of God. And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
  • Joshua on Matthew 12 - 8 years ago
And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing. And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where. Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Turn again to the most High, and turn away from iniquity: for he will lead thee out of darkness into the light of health, and hate thou abomination vehemently. For the eyes of the Lord are upon them that love him, he is their mighty protection and strong stay, a defence from heat, and a cover from the sun at noon, a preservation from stumbling, and an help from falling. He raiseth up the soul, and lighteneth the eyes: he giveth health, life, and blessing.
  • Joshua on Matthew 12 - 8 years ago
He will swallow up death in victory and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it. Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth. For he created all things, that they might have their being: and the generations of the world were healthful and there is no poison of destruction in them, nor the kingdom of death upon the earth: For it was neither herb, nor mollifying plaister, that restored them to health: but thy word, O Lord, which healeth all things. For of the most High cometh healing, and he shall receive honour of the king. That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.
