    ANY ANSWERS???

God said Adam would die "in that day" Genesis 2:17 that he partook of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, but he lived until 930 years old.

God said that the flood of Noah's time would destroy "every living substance" ( Genesis 7:4, Genesis 7:23) from the face of the earth," yet the dove sent by Noah plucked an olive leaf from an olive tree after the flood. A tree is a living substance.

If these phrases are taken at face value, would there not be a discrepancy in the Word of God?

Thanks Dean, for a great testimony & account of the Lord's immeasurable mercies afforded us undeserving souls. Our heads can only be held high in praise based on all that He has done for us & nothing from ourselves. It's ALL of Grace.

    Tender Mercies?

God has shown mercy to sinners by the gift of His Son Jesus the Christ and who was obedient to His Father's will to the point of death and that whoever believes in God's gift being that His Son paid for all the believers sins will receive God's tender mercy. See mankind is now born with sin and then he commits sins of willfulness and sins of ignorance. Without remission of sin God must judge mankind because God is Holy and Justified. He's is God....We are not. But by His mercy which is obviously tender He made a way out of the death penalty for us by offering His Son as a replacement for us and all of the worlds sins were poured out on Him when He hung on the tree. If that isn't mercy for us I don't know what is? God so loved me that He gave His only Son for me a lost sinner and now I can hold my head high knowing that His Kingdom will come and I will be remembered and have a life without the decay that holds me now. He is tender and merciful in His ways that I can't understand but if I read His Word I will know the path.

Believe and you will be saved. That is tender mercy.

    Believe.

I have been a Christian for many years but not lived as I should, I am now in my fifties and recent health issues have compelled me to study the bible. I picked the first chapter of Luke out of thin air-not even knowing the content. Looking forward to getting closer to my savior JESUS CHRIST!

Larry B Jesus was, is and always shall be God, who came in the flesh to redeem mankind from sin and death.

    1 Timothy 3:16

"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." King James Version (KJV)

God never changes. Malachi 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

Jesus never changes. Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

God is the only Saviour. "I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour." Isaiah 43:11

To the only wise God our Saviour... Jude 1:12

    God our Saviour. Titus 2:10

...we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour. I Timothy 4:10

    God my Saviour. Luke 1:47

Jesus is the only Saviour. ...the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. 1 John 4:14

...our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. II Peter 3:18

...God and our Saviour Jesus Christ. II Peter 1:1

...the Christ, the Saviour of the world. John 4:42

...the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour. Titus 1:4

a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:11

Neither is there salvation in any other (than Jesus): for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

    -- Acts 4:12

...salvation... is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

So since the letter J is a recent thing and that the name Jesus could not exist. I suppose NO J in Jesus means that

JJJJ Jews do not exist either?

these Yeshua group are basically DENYING the King James Bible.

Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Matthew 1:25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

The angel Gabriel told Mary to name him Jesus, not Yeshu which is a curse Jews say may his name be blotted out from under heaven.

Luke 1: 26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,

27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.

28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.

30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.

31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

So do we believe the Bible or Jewish fables that the New Testament Bible was originally Hebrew and mistranslated by those pagan anti-Semitic Greeks?

Titus 1:14 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.

Dennis: this is what the scriptures say about REMISSION of sins.

Matthew 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Mark 1:4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

Luke 1:77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,

    Luke 3:3 And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;

Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

    Romans 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

I found the answer to the genealogy in Matthew Henry's commentary. Luke gave elements of Mary's genealogy as well as Joseph's that's why both accounts differ.

John the Baptist was baptized by the Holy Spirit in his mother's womb. Luke 1:41, 44
John the Baptist baptized with WATER unto repentance for sin.
If you have received the Gift that Jesus preached then the Holy Spirit has made his abode with you. The gifts of The Spirit are for you. Study those gifts. You can ask for what you need. Don't be greedy.
1 Corinthians chapter 12 and 13. My advise: spend time enriching your relationship with the Holy Spirit. Read the verses Jesus speaks concerning Him.

Thanks for your comments. Do you think Mankind is ready NOW to turn away from evil and turn to God, in this trying period? Knowing that with Him all things are possible ( Luke 1:37) He's the God of flesh as there is nothing too hard for Him ( Jeremiah 32:27) I am confident that joy will come after this weeping of the night, as He's about to do something new in the lives of the believers that would convince those yet to believe in Him as their
Lord and Saviour. I have a saying now that the fear of Corona virus disease is the acceptance of God Almighty
  • Avanelle - In Reply on Luke 1 - 5 years ago
Hi David, I am not sure if you're still around and still trying to figure out the genealogy (since your comments were over 8 years ago) but one thing I have seen is that you do love the Lord and want to know Him a lot more; hence all the questions. The Bible also says no man knoweth the Father, save the Son and whomsoever the Son revealeth Him to. I can't answer the genealogy cause I do think generations are missing myself, for instance Matthew Chapter 1 and Luke Chapter 3 some people were added and some were left out between those 2 accounts. So I thought to myself, I may have to read over the Bible entirely and draw a family tree to figure it out or just wait for the Lord's revelation.

  • Jesus Christ was Born in December on Luke 1 - 5 years ago
Jesus could have only been Born in December which is Confirmed in Scripture. There are Unproven Theories claiming Jesus wasn't Born than and that as Christians we shouldnt Celebrate Christmas at this time and the same with Easter but when examined in the Light of Scripture by the Empowering of The Holy Spirit they have no substance or Truth and are mostly hearsay and fiction, they come from Man s own fleshy logic, understanding and reasoning. God tells us we are not to Agree with or Support those who Teach contrary to His Revealed Truth and we will know when it is by The Empowering of The Holy Spirit as we read the Scriptures. I will share some soon that confirm Jesus was Born in December.

IT is not written in the bible Jesus dob. It explains the conception of John the Baptist and lead into the time Gabriel visited Mary and said she was highly favored among women. Our months are not the same as theirs. Their calendar was the Nissan calendar. Read LUKE 1:21-32. Christmas is a Pagan holiday. We are to commemorate, memorialize Holy days not holidays. ex- Passover, Unleavened bread.

It's so amazing what he did for us and still fights for us. Very thankful . He deserves so much praise and worship and love. Thank God for sending blessing and precious gift to die on the cross for our sins. Words cannot explain the gratitude I feel for all he's done for me and my family. Thankful for his love. The blood still cleanses from sin and changes you. Miracles signs, wonders.

My spirit has rejoiced in God my savior. He has done great and wonderful things for me. Blessed is the name of God forever and ever who has given to us the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, his only son for us that we might have eternal life. Therefore let every man be reconciled to God, for he has made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth. Praise God forever.
