Those 2 words are not in the King James Bible. You can verify by using THE SEARCH BOX.

The word you will find in the Bible is COVENANT. It's stronger than the other two words.

    John Chapter 16:7

7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

    9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;

    10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

Hebrews 11:1 - Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

    Examples of COVENANT

    Ezekiel 16:60

Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.

    Genesis 17:13

He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.

    Leviticus 26:42

Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.

    2 Kings 23:3

And the king stood by a pillar, and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD, and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes with all their heart and all their soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people stood to the covenant.

I know people do not know all the words of the story, or they would not have elected people that are overthrowing every institution that this country has fought and died for, on the battlefields. This nation makes a mockery of our Constitution, Flag, the Lords Prayer and the words printed on our money: IN GOD WE TRUST.

Shame on us for not using our vote, to vote for God! Now we will see what it means when the domino effect, takes place. Put a bookmark in Leviticus 26: 14-39. We're there: the 5th Cycle.

Not all of the Book of Daniel has been accomplished.

    Daniel 12 (for starters)

3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and SEAL THE BOOK, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and KNOWLEDGE shall be increased.

8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?

9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed TILL THE TIME OF THE END.

10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but THE WISE shall understand.

11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.

13 But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.

Not only this, but Antichrist is clearly described in Daniel; and his campaign to take over nations. Knowledge is increasing. I do believe the 4 Horseman are here.

Now is a good time to read and discuss Prophesy.

What is the Holy Spirit showing us for today?

    Genesis 17

2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.

3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,

4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.

5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.

6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.

7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, THE LAND wherein thou art a stranger, ALL the land of Canaan, for an EVERLASTING possession; and I will be their God.

9 And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.

As you read on down, God blessed Ishmael also. However, Ishmael was not a part of the Covenant concerning the land.

    Ishmael See verse 20-21

    God to Abraham Genesis 22:17-18

This is what the fighting is about in Israel today. Heirs of Ishmael are intent on destroying the heirs of Isaac; taking the Land that God have to Isaac.

If the USA persists in trying to force Israel to give up land for peace, no one has perceived what is going to happen to the USA.

Go look up the 5 cycles of discipline in the Book of Leviticus 26:14-39

Bad is about to get worse. We are moving into the 5th Cycle now. Respectfully, we need to impeach Biden now. He doesn't make any decisions apart from Pelosi and Obama. If we as a nation don't speak up now, in unity; we are opposing God.

The DEED to Israel is recorded in the Bible. They cannot give that land away. Nor, will God allow Ishmael's descendants to take it away from Israel.

Out of room. I'm afraid we're all going to see the beginning of the end.

    Earl,

    ( Leviticus 26:18)

Knowing that God warned and punished both houses of Israel for backsliding, adds richness to your point. God said he would punish them seven times (7 x 360 day for a year = 2,520 years) for disobedience.

The house of Israel (10 tribes) were taken captives by Assyria in 721 BC + 2,520 = 1800 Briton, "the isles of the sea"

The house of Judah (3 tribes) were taken captives by Babylon in 604 BC + 2,520 = 1917 Balfour Declaration

Everything in its time, and revealed in one moment.

    Another from Chris.

Thank you Michael for that clear & concise response. If the foundations of biblical teaching or doctrine are not properly laid, the building cracks will develop & bring destruction. I find that many Christians, whether because of Church teaching or from their own surmisings, look at Scriptures such as John 14:15 & immediately apply the obedience to the Law for all people, that which was given only to Israel.

To do so, several things have to be overlooked or rejected: to whom was God speaking in the OT & to whom was Jesus speaking prior to His crucifixion? Only to Israel, none else. Gentiles weren't even in the picture pertaining to the Law & never have been. What was the reason for giving the Law? God's code of conduct (spiritual, moral & social) for His people, His Mark of separation from the heathen - Leviticus 26:46, (as also with circumcision: Genesis 17:10), & to demonstrate to Israel a godly standard that as sinners they could never fully obey ( Galatians 3:21-26).

But then we get verses such as Matthew 5:17-19 which are often used to support the eternal nature & applicability of the Law to all people. To those under the Law, indeed, the Law is current & will be used against them. To those who have escaped the curse of the Law & have found new life in Christ, have learned that Christ has indeed fulfilled all the Law, forever abrogating it & thru His Death ushered in a new & better Covenant ( Hebrews 8:6-13).

What then do we do with Scriptures (e.g. 1 John 5:2,3) that say we must obey God's commandments? Are John & others pointing the believer back to the letter of the Law that kills or rather to the Spirit Who gives life ( 2 Corinthians 3:6)? It is the Spirit's Law in our hearts that frees us from the Law of sin & death ( Romans 8:2). To give consent to both, that which is opposed to each other, weakens (even negates) the power of the New Covenant through Christ's Blood & the keeping of the Sabbath ever stands as a centrepiece to

-What did God mean when He said He would punish both houses of Israel (house of Israel & house of Judah) 7 times if they did not obey? Leviticus 26:18 "And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins." What does that prophesy have to do with a split Israel?

-What was the blessings Jacob laid upon the sons of Joseph in Gen 48?

-What nations did Ephraim & Manasseh & Judah become?

    -Who are the birthright people?

-When did the house of Israel go into captivity?

-When did the house of Judah go into captivity?

Knowing the answers will reveal who these people are today.

It's enlightening to see prophesy unfold, and know it.

I agree that Cain inherited his sinful nature from Adam. Before Adam & Eve ate from the tree of knowledge of good & evil they knew no sin because they were made in the image of God. It was only after they ate from the tree that they new good & evil.

Jesus is our role model on how we [should] live. [If] it was [impossible] for us to [sin no more] then Jesus wouldn't of commanded us to [do] it.

John 5:14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: [sin no more], lest a worse thing come unto thee.

John 8:11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and [sin no more].

1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we [keep] his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

John 15:10 [If] ye [keep] my commandments, ye [shall] abide in my love; even as I have [kept] my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

1 John 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, [if] we [keep] his commandments.

Deuteronomy 5:29 O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, [and keep all] my commandments [always], that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!

Proverbs 7:2 [Keep] my commandments, and [live]; and my law as the apple of thine eye.

Exodus 20:6 And shewing mercy unto [thousands] of them that [love me], [and keep] my commandments.

Deuteronomy 5:10 And shewing mercy unto [thousands] of them that [love me] [and keep] my commandments.

Comment: Sometimes you have to see a word in use (in the Bible) to see what it pertains to.

    Vain has multiple uses.

    Exodus 5:9

Let there more work be laid upon the men, that they may labour therein; and let them not regard vain words.

    Leviticus 26:16

I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

    Leviticus 26:20

And your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits.

    Deuteronomy 5:11

Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

    Deuteronomy 32:47

For it is not a vain thing for you; because it is your life: and through this thing ye shall prolong your days in the land, whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.

And they gave him threescore and ten pieces of silver out of the house of Baalberith, wherewith Abimelech hired vain and light persons, which followed him.

    Judges 11:3

Then Jephthah fled from his brethren, and dwelt in the land of Tob: and there were gathered vain men to Jephthah, and went out with him.

    1 Samuel 12:21

And turn ye not aside: for then should ye go after vain things, which cannot profit nor deliver; for they are vain.

The lights (the 2 greatest commandments) in the firmament of the Heaven (the expansion of the hearing of Heaven) are for signs, seasons, days and years.

For days and years..they will prolong our days upon this earth.

Deuteronomy 6:2 That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.

For length of days and long life (literally, years of life) the doing of His commandments do add unto us.

Proverbs 3:1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

    (2) For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

They shall multiply our daysas the days of Heaven upon the earth:

    Deuteronomy 11:21 That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.22 For if ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him;

The doing of His commandments shall give us fruitful seasons

    Leviticus 26:3 If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them;

    (4) Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

They are for signs.you shall bind them for a sign upon your handremembering to do them always.

Deuteronomy 6:8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.

In doing so, we shall shine as the stars turning many to His righteousness.

We shall be His many infallible signs to this dark world that Jesus is truly alive as we live.

Acts 1:3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

I agree in that when we accept by faith God's plan, we are made new and our souls cannot sin. They are preserved and hid in God until the day of redemption. Our fleshly bodies however can commit sin which needs cleansing daily. The eternal part of us that will spend an eternity either with Christ or without and is preserved. No one, can break that seal. Our souls are saved not our bodies.

Scripture teaches that the law and the prophets were until John. We are under grace. We trust the perfect sacrifice, then obey, serve and love because he first loved us. Jesus fulfilled the law. Their FAITH was counted righteousness. The law was given to teach them and us that we cannot attain perfection of ourselves. Certain feasts were given to the Jews to keep forever to remind them of who they are. I am not a Jew. God has always been more concerned with our faith and obedience than any sacrifice. We must trust Jesus the perfect sacrifice for our sins and believe his Word.

Romans 4 :14 For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect: People say the bible contradicts itself but it doesn't , it just addresses different things that ppl try to merge together. When talking of salvation its free thru faith. But rewards in heaven and disicplship are thru obedience. Separate situations with separate outcomes.

Romans 4 :3-5 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

The purpose of 1 John on is for fellowship. Know here is not to acknowledge or know personally. Think of it this way: a person can have a mom but not know her initmately. Or a man who divorces his wife and says"I never knew her". Of course they know them but they have no intimate relationship with them or understand them. And as both cases when we dont know God as well as we should we lose joy

Remember each book is a letter with its own main theme. Don't just look at the chapters but the whole book. Why did John say he was writing this: 1 John 1" 3 that which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full"

..like grace to pay a bill - grace is time between either your death, or the end of the earth to have as much faith as possible that will lead to being a righteous person before judgement, which will occur 7 days after the end of earth as it is today. ..again james 2:20-22. You can't know God unless you do his commandments!!!!! 1 John 2:3.

Salvation is for all who believe. We are His adopted ppl. The New Kingdom will be for all believers. The difference between Jewish believers and non-Jewish believers, is that the Jewish believers are Christ's Bride, and we the Church, are apart of His body. The new Heaven and new Earth will be for all believers, but only certian believers who have served Him will enter into the City of New Jerusalem

Grace is undeserved mercy, so why do keep trying to earn it? You dont earn your parents love, Its freely given like our salvation which He freely gave to us making us His children, but our fellowship with Him, like with our parents is based on how we obey. It saddens me how some make God out to be an abusive parent, He is the most loving being of all. I recommend Pastor Yankee Arnold on youtube.

Also look at these ppl who keep talking about their works Matt 7 21-23, never do the mention their faith in what Christ has done for them? Furthermore He says He never knew them, not knew them then lost them, remember John 6 37-39. These ppl doubted his complete work and looked to their own works. What is the will of the Father? Also Ecclesisticus is non-canoinical.Its not even recognized as OT by the Jews. Its ued by lordship ppl to bring fear and twist faith with lies. Again if He hates us why die for us? God hates sinners is the biggest lie ever. Sin separates us from Him so He died to remove it that we may boldy come to Him, Eph 3 11-12. He sacrifced himself for sinners, so how does that verse make sense?
  • Diamond M Crumpton-Scott - In Reply on Leviticus 26 - 6 years ago
Salvation is for all who believe. You are doubting the finish work of The Most High. The bible states again and again the salvation is a free gift., Acts 4:12, Ephesians 2 8-10, John 3 16, and that He will never lose us or cast us out, John 6 37-39. Why do you ppl always doubt His power and love for us. He died for sinners so how can He hate them? He hates our sin and did away with it.
