We are living this today. It's just one chapter but covers so much ground. Praise Jesus.

Jude is the most poetic of all the books.

Ren (cont.); Jude 1:5 "I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not." 2 John 1:8 "Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward." "..the devils also believe, and tremble." Read Matthew 7:21-27

Ren; God is not willing for anyone to perish, and He has made every provision for ALL men everywhere to benefit from His Gift of reconciliation and salvation from sin through His Son Jesus Christ. But men have their part as well, to prove whether they are of the truth by hearing Jesus' voice, repenting of sin AND quitting them, and believing; and continuing steadfast unto the end. Read Jude 1:5

Verse 25 shows that Jehovah God has always been glorious, majestic, and has always existed and will always exist.

Jude 1:3 "Beloved when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write to you and exhort you to earnestly contend for the faith which was once
delivered unto the saints." When I contend for the faith, I contend for the Truth. Jesus contended for the faith. He rebuked those that spoke against the truth.
  • Jacoba on Jude 1 - 8 years ago
The faith is not what you believe or what I believe, the faith is what the apostles wrote for us to learn. We are to believe the message the apostles taught. Jesus prayed for those who believed on Him through the apostles words. John 17: 20.

Verse 6 fallen angels that left heaven, their first estate, in Genesis 6 they took women for play things Giants were born. Half human influx of angels mix. Their release is during the first tribulation as locust priest and Satan acts like Christ. Yes Angels can have children just like Satan had Cain. 1st tribulation false messiah 2nd tribulation Christ warrior hail stones fire crush Satans head.

Faith is so important to make it through these last days. God warned that things would advance from bad to worse. Sometimes this can affect us, to the point where we lose hope. This scripture encourages me to continue building my faith! Faith in Jehovah God and his son Jesus Christ will be what helps us to keep our integrity as we wait for God to fully take control!

Jehovah God constantly tells us to build our faith. This verse helps us to see why. Our faith is going to sustain us as we wait patiently for God to fulfill his promise to the Earth. Strong faith will help us to live a happy and satisfying life while we wait for the REAL life to come.
  • Julius Mutua on Jude 1 - 8 years ago
I I love verse 20 and 21 where Jude is calling us to build our faith in the Lord and pray in the Holy Ghost besides living in the love of God and looking for His mercy always.
  • A disciple on Jude 1 - 8 years ago
"Likewise also these [filthy] dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities...And of some have compassion, making a difference:and others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire;" It is very difficult NOT to be furious and hate some wicked kinds of people; but we have a commandment from God, and His Spirit to help us; and we don't let feelings direct our character.
  • Margaret on Jude 1 - 8 years ago
V22 defines compassion. It is not sentimentality, sympathy or pity. Genuine compassion makes a difference to the one it is directed towards. Sometimes we are not in a position to make a difference practically, yet we Christians are never helpless, because we can always pray and intercede. Prayer for others is compassion in action, and it always makes a difference.

To Wayne - From where did you get idea I was 'against' the father, son and H. G.?
  • Wayne on Jude 1 - 8 years ago
Irene, what do you have against Father, Son, and Holy Ghost?
  • A disciple on Jude 1 - 8 years ago
H, Please allow me to explain a few things to you, which should help you to understand the truth about what happened leading up to the destruction of the world of the begining. First of all, the sons of God have always been the Elect, the Saints, to whom the Word of God came; of the lineage of Seth. What happened was a great apostasy. Angels are spirits, and not flesh; and CANNOT breed with women.
  • H on Jude 1 - 8 years ago
The sons of God in this text in Jude refers to the fallen angels. They left their habitation and took themselves wives as they wanted. Just as it was in the days of Noah in the first earth age. The offspring are the same giants which are spoken of in Geneses 6:4.
  • Irene123 on Jude 1 - 8 years ago
Occasionally I think back to my young days and attending Church with my parents and saying the doxology, "Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow ..... "; it always ended, Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. I looked it up and now it ends, "Creator, Christ and spirit, One." I guess they changed it in the new century, it doesn't say. At least they've got the ONE in there.
  • Irene123 on Jude 1 - 8 years ago
The canon of the KJV was set by GOD; it is HIS book, after all. Anyone who wants to read the apocrypha can do so; it's in other books; so why complain about it ..... ? You still have your freedom to read the apocrypha. God will keep His book, the KJV, the way He wants it.
  • Joan Travick on Jude 1 - 8 years ago
Man may be bribed and compromise his ethic and moral. But GOD does not change. Just because man accepts wrong for right does not mean GOD will change HIS word. Man will soon find that out. Man acceptance is not GOD's acceptance. HE will punish unrighteousness. HE will show up suddenly and man won't be prepared because HE can't prepare for what is coming upon the earth. HE won't compromise.
  • Mary Covington on Jude 1 - 8 years ago
I love the book of Jude. It is so reverent, to what is going on today. Everyone should study this book, and take heed to it IN JESUS NAME!

To word - The "sons of god" wee the HUMANS on earth that believed in God, but sinned in that they took wives of other people who did not believe in God. Angels are spirits - sexless, not physical; cannot reproduce.
  • Jbmac on Jude 1 - 8 years ago
I think of the book of Enoch when I read Jude, and how the wolves (scribes and pharisees along with others due to satan's influence) took this book as well as thousands of other book out of our canon. For anyone who reads their bible and knows it inside out it is easy to pick out all the quotes and references there are in the new testament from the apocrypha books. God Bless all with wisdom. Amen
  • Kurt C. on Jude 1 - 8 years ago
Tender is our body here. One degree of temp change spells sickness. Jude tells of our soul being tender here. Our testimonies amazing yet not overshadowing Jesus' life. Sin in the world abounds we must keep our soul from exposure. Our desires in the world must not drive us. Even sinners, only receiving an indirect statement that God dislikes it. We cannot be the judge yet we have God's wisdom.
  • David crawford on Jude 1 - 8 years ago
