    John 6:2, The people followed (continuously) Jesus (The 4th miracle of Jesus), they had some conviction but he fed them. The Feast of Passover was nigh. The multitude was hungry, Andrew said there is a lad with 5 loaves and 2 small fishes Jesus blessed it. This Small amount of food fed over 5 thousand and gathered 12 baskets of fragments. Jesus manufactures, we as the saved are the distributors, what little things we have, God will Use to help others. Our help comes from Jesus not government. The Gestapo in Nazi, Germany began on April 20,1934 used 13-14 year old boys/students to spy on citizens and report back to Nazi leaders, these students along with others were not in uniform. When the boys ended up in the concentration camps they were fed little Food. They would scream, cry out at night. The officers and Doctors started giving them 1 small loaf to keep them at night. That gave them Hope for the next day. They slept through the night. Trust Jesus, He is God, his help is overflowing and will never end.

    Dear brothers and sisters, Eating and drinking Jesus' flesh and blood is to follow His teachings. Mainly love God and mankind eternally, even though he or she is not follower of Jesus. But he or she that obeys His commandments will be saved. Murderers and evildoers are out.

    I’m 28 years old and always believed in Jesus my whole life, always tried to go to church, always failed! It would last a few months or a year but still failed, I always thought that all you had to do is ask for forgiveness before you died, if you died before you asked, you were going to hell. One day I felt lost and didn’t know what was going on. I talked to some friends, I said I feel like when I see God, he'll say I never knew you, and they said, no not if you believe. Well the feeling went away for a bit well 2 more times later I got drunk and the feeling got worse so went to church said the prayer and got baptized. I didn't understand what the crap was going on I was never ready to do that, I thought I had to change my life before I committed it to Christ. Boy, was I wrong? Thinking that made me realize that after 28 years I would never have been ready. Then all hell broke loose after. I never read the Gospels but everyone said start at John, I did and when I ran across John 6:44 I flat out and cried. Then I knew what was going on and what happened, I really didn't know I wasn't saved to be honest.

    Many are called and few are chosen, I wonder if people ever read the verses before and after a verse, to find the understanding of the context. God through the holy spirit John 6:44, calls many (all) humans to believe on the lord Jesus Christ, for the saving of their souls Romans 10:9-13, but few are chosen (acceptance of the call), to believe on the truth and be converted (born again), John 3:3, as little children.

    @Eileen,
    Forgiveness is a choice that you make by the grace of God through Jesus Christ who chose to forgive you and all men, though no man has ever suffered as He did. Eat His bread and drink His blood and you will have His life in you, to forgive without a struggle.

    @Tjy and Joseph,
    Almost every English translation leaves out the phrase "to the things behind" from the Greek text. This is tragic, for it has much to do with why they "turned back." The book of Hebrews has much to say about returning in rebellion, unbelief and disobedience ( Hebrews 3:12-19) to the old ways, even to those things reckoned as beneficial according to the old life ( Philippians 3:1-7). The apostle Paul reminds us to completely forget (original text of Philippians 3:13) "the things behind"; in this case, all that were considered more desirable than the new life we have in Christ. It helps in illustrating what the writer of Hebrews 6 was aiming at, and to whom at that point he was addressing, i.e. the unbeliever who was in danger of "turning back" as those in John 6:66 and in Numbers 14. In the latter case, they entered not into the rest of God in the land promised them because of unbelief. "The things behind" must be left behind, and completely forgotten by those professing to have come to a knowledge of the truth in Christ.

    John 21:11 says 153 Fishes was derived from Genesis 1:26 where fish first appears in the bible and was the sign of the first follower's of Christ when the New Testament was written. The triangular number 153 has 17 on three sides. 17x9=153, 17 in ancient languages is 7 and 10. Jesus was born in 7 BC on October 9th.17+9=26. The Government of the US uses this date of October 9th for Leif Erickson Day.17+17+17=51,117x9=1053. King David was born in 1053BC and his final testament is found in 1 Kings 53 to 1 Kings 2:11 and this is why 21:11 was used by the writers of the Book of John. 51 Latitude and 105.3 Longitude matches Susan Dalton's remark of Holdfast on a modern day map of Holdfast Sask. Near 51 Latitude and 105.3 Longitude Ancient church clergy for centuries came to this part of North America knowing the Second Christ would be born in this area and many were buried around Last Mountain Lake. 217x9 = 1953{2 7 10 1953} In Genesis 1:26, cattle appears as this word was derived from the ancient Greek word 'Boys'. The miracle of John 6:9 Boy who gives Jesus 2 fishes and 5 loaves of bread is part of the ancient Templar Code, 69 is the ancient sign of cancer. The birth of the boy is found in Revelation 12:5, 7 heads and 10 horns are Roman emperors and kings, one of them being Julius Caesar which July was named from.

    I believe that chapter 6, is a basic example of life. Just as he fed all those that were there the believers and the non believers. This is in essence what has happened throughout all generations. We are all feed the word of God, some of us take the words to heart and follow him while others are after food (or God’s word) just as there are professional students that love to study there are those that are professional Christians. They love to hear the beautiful words they love the fellowship they believe they are where they need to be. But to them these are just beautiful words when the words are not in agreement with their life styles or their beliefs they move on to someone else that will say what they want to hear. The father’s words are meant to be followed and obeyed. It is not a question of whether the word appeals to us, it’s a question of how do I fulfill the father’s word how do I do that which is right, not to my pleasure, but his pleasure.

    Eileen god is using you spiritually and everyone in their lifes are going through the same things as you have. We fight many battles in our life to get close to god. But you will be strengthen in times of trouble. The devil will use everything he can to stop you from serving god and going forward with him. The devil will do a complete search in your life of all the things that bother you and use it to stop you from serving god. God once told me when I was going to quit he said to me I hate a quiter he said the funnies thing to me god said pulled your boot straps up dust yourself off and move on. He was telling me you can keep feeling sorry for yourself or you can get back on the path and keep moving on forward the prize, Jesus.

  • Eileen on John 6 - 13 years ago
    What I get from this entire chapter right now is that what the Lord did for all of these people when he multiplied what was needed so that all could eat and drink what was needed, he did for all of them , not just the ones that were righteous or deserving of it but everyone. That can be hard to accept at times as a chritstian because you can see that there are people in the world that are given care or what they need by the Lord even when they are rotten at times and or terrible people. Mean hurtful people are also cared for and loved by him that created all of mankind. I am really struggling with forgiveness right now and I know that the Lord would want me to do for others what I want him to do for me and even though other people may not have the same heart as me or what I would like to see them have, they should be forgiven even if they don't seem to deserve it. I am really being taught or shown by the Lord that forgiveness is key to keeping your relationship with him open and active because that has been the very thing that has put a major block in my relationship with him so many times in the past. He is showing me that there are more times than I realize that I have been totally knocked off course with him because of events that take place in my life and then I cannot go any further with or progress in my relationship with him because he is not able to keep guiding us when we are stuck emotionally and mentally on something that someone has done to us. I have been in this place so many times that I can't count how many. It is Satan's way of ruining what the Lord has in store for us and his way of keeping us from our Lord and saviour. It is a constant battle to try and keep a clear pathway so that we can stay connected to him. When we get clogged with a huge amount of sadness or anger or hurt and we can't let go of it because we are bitter about things that other people have done to us we are not able to progress spiritually and then it all comes to a halt. The Lord knows this and that is why he is always telling us in our heart and through scripture not to get stuck by not being able to forgive people. We have to let go of what others in this life do to us so that we can move forward. That is so difficult some times but that is also the only way to be ok with ourselves spiritually and there is no way to get around that, there just isn't. Ive tried and it always ends up the same. Stagnant. Through adversity we are all shown what his plan is and why. Not just those of us that completely love and trust him but even those of us that are following the wrong path. This is how he shows people that he is constantly there and working in all of our lives regardless of who or what believes in him or not. I have just been through a very trying time and there are so many people that I need to forgive in this situation. I know that is going to be the hardest thing or one of the hardest things I have ever had to do without a doubt. I do not feel like forgiving the people that have wronged me. My husband and I did not deserve to be treated the way that we were and should not have had done to us what was done to us. But people are weak and of the flesh and they succumb to what Satan offers them when they feel that they are being offered a quick fix to how they feel also. The people that we dealt with are truly wicked and I don't know how to go about totally forgiving them. I just have to keep praying about it.

    BAPTISM AFTER EXAMINATION
    Jesus said we should be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the holy spirit. ( Matt. 28:19, 20) What does this mean? Fatherhood refers to parenthood, and being baptized in the name of the Father shows that one recognizes the superiority and sovereignty of our heavenly Father, whose name alone is Jehovah. ( Ps. 83:18) We must sanctify his name, respect his sovereignty, love his kingdom and serve its interests. ( Luke 11:2) Next, being baptized in the name of the Son shows one’s appreciation for the high authority and position conferred upon the Son by the Father. There must be love and appreciation for the Son because he is the Ransomer. Without his sacrifice we could not gain life. How great a debt we owe him! ( Isa. 55:4; John 4:42) Finally, being baptized in the name of the holy spirit means to recognize such spirit as the active force of Jehovah. It is that same force that unerringly guided the men of old to write the Bible, impelled the early Christians to withstand persecution successfully and that today guides Jehovah’s theocratic organization on earth.—2 Pet. 1:21; John 6:63; 1  John 5:6.
    One’s baptism is a public demonstration of death to a past course of life. If the candidate remained submerged in water, truly it would mean his death. Fittingly, one is raised to life as it were, alive to do the will of Jehovah. Thus one’s day of baptism could be said to be the day of one’s start in a new life. Baptism serves both as a public confession of one’s dedication and as a sign of one’s being an ordained minister. Doubly blessed by Jehovah is this individual. The date of one’s baptism should be recorded and remembered always. As far as Jehovah’s visible organization is concerned it is the date of your ordination to the ministry of the Most High.

    Many people are working overtime trying to get ahead, and it is like their pockets have holes in them. The more they make, the more they have to pay. Jesus wants us not to labor for the meat that perishes, but rather for that which gives eternal life. Jesus is that meat, and when we believe that he died on the cross for our sins,and rose for our justification we have eternal life. The Lord's Supper is a spiritual act of eating his flesh, and drinking his blood; we show forth his death, burial, and resurrection until he comes again. So let us not be offended as many were in that day, but as Peter said where shall we go, for thou only has the words of eternal Life. When you do this you will be satisfied.

    I attended a baptist church a few weeks ago, and actually performed a "last supper" service. (very rare) The paster handed out a small cracker the size of a fly to everyone and said that the cracker was a "picture" of Jesus (and not actually Jesus), and they ate it. Very unscriptural and not in the bible. Catholics believe Jesus is present in the Eucharist with his very own body. As noted in John 6 verses 51-55. It appears the Catholic communiion service is more biblical and scriptually accurate.

    I have heard some Christians say that Judas was an instrument in the hand of God:he was predestined to betray Jesus:so, he would now be in heaven!.
    I find that the best answer is the latter part of John 6:70, "one of you is a DEVIL" .I strongly believe that this categorical statement of Our Lord has been culpably overlooked by the commentators to this day in its true meaning. What Jesus meant was that Judas is the personification of Satan himself! Jesus did not say that Judas would be possessed by a demon. Judas was Satan incarnated.
    Too many difficulties could be solved by this interpretation. Some are doubtful,as I said earlier, that injustice had been done by God in appointing a man in flesh and blood to betray Our Lord. And that even if Judas willed,he could never abstain from betraying Jesus!. When God incarnated as a man, Satan also took the form of another man,with God's permission, of course. That is why Peter declared that Judas "went back to his place". Judas is also called "the son of perdition"- that is,Satan.

    IF 1 JOHN 5:7 IS TRUE THEN IT CONTRADICTS 1 John 4:12-No one has ever seen God;, 1 Timothy 1:17,1-Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible,YAHWEH the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever.

I DON'T THINK THAT 1 JOHN 5:7 IS TRUE, IT WAS PURPOSELY PUT THERE BY THE ROMAN CATHOLICS WHILE TRANSLATING THE SCRIPTS FROM HEBREW TO GREEK TO SUPPORT THEIR BELIEVE OF "FATHER THE GOD, SON THE GOD AND HOLY GHOST THE GOD THREE IN ONE............
  • Susan Dalton on John 6:15 - 13 years ago
    "When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone?" ( John 6:15) Earlier, Satan had tempted Jesus with a kingdoms of the world; in His temptation from Satan, Jesus overcame. Here, when Jesus perceived the people would come and by force make Him a King, he did not follow on with them. Satan in his temptations said unto Jesus, "If thou be the Son of God..." Later, when Jesus was on the cross we see these words being spoken to Jesus through man. "If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross." ( Matthew 27:40) "Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said, He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God." ( Matthew 27:41-43) Satan earlier had taken Jesus up into the holy city, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple: "And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, he shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone." ( Matthew 4:5-6) Jesus did not jump off the pinnacle of the temple, neither did he come down from off the cross. Satan seeks to interfere and destroy the work of God. He can manifest himself directly; he can work through the fallen angels. He can manifest himself to the mind of man; he can also work through others to speak of perform his will towards another. He can present himself as an angel of light. "And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light." ( II Corinthians 11:14) Satan's goal is to steal, kill, and destroy; sometimes he looks like darkness, and sometimes he looks like light.

    Jh. 8:3-11 The woman was taken to Jesus for judgement. Jesus said go and sin no more. You mean no one can obey this command, Jesus is so merciful saying this word if no one can obey. For ex. of a father righteous in this world, He will not command his 4 years old son/daughter to bring 5 gallons of water in a can, since he knew it is heavy. Our God also cannot command to his people that we cannot do. To enter into the kingdom of heaven is dual. Faith to the Lord Jesus Christ heartily & faith to his words. I would not deny that faith alone can saved. Our Lord Jesus Christ gave us an example to the one on his side also hanging on the cross whom he has given a promised to enter into the kingdom of heaven. After that promised he was dead, so nothing bad works or evil thoughts he can do again because his body is dead. Not like us, to compare the faith to one of the robbers because we are alive, so after receiving the Lord Jesus Christ by faith, our evil thoughts, evil eyes was there and also of being a liar. To erase this we have to work and practice to follow his words and ask him for help and pray that all our bad works will be clean before his judgement. We know we are all temporary here,so why not we prepared on that day to come.There are so many verses to support that salvation of our Soul is individual/own works and not by faith whereby many believers was deceived. Old test. Exeq. 14:14, Exeq. 14:20, Exeq. 18:28. New test. Acts 2:40, Phillip. 2:12, 1 Tim. 4:16, & James 1:21-22. Our God will judge to our works whether good or bad. Our God will not judge to our faith to him. But God judge us is based in his words. Supporting verses: 2 Cor. 5:10, Ecclesias. 12:14 & John 12:48.

    Dear Linda, I wanted to respond also to the part of your letter about God's Word saying that no man has seen God at anytime. I found the scripture, and some more that relate to it. No man can see God, but mankind, to whomever He will reveal Himself, can see His Christ; His Image; His only begotten Son, which is also His Word; words, and is the Sword of His Spirit, and we can see God, the Father IN the Face of God's Word; God's only begotten Son; Christ Jesus. The reason Christ is the ONLY begotten of God; the Father, is because Christ was always with God, always existed, was always part of that which is God, and literally CAME FORTH from God. All mankind that receives Christ is born of; begotten of, God BY Christ; BY God's Word, and by His Spirit, thus the Spirit of God's Word. For, the WORDS of Christ are spirit and life.
    It is IN the Face; the WORDS, of Christ, that we see; perceive, and come to know, the Father. As, Christ Jesus is the EXPRESS Image of God, the Father. As, Christ was/is the very HEART of God, the Father, expressed unto us. Christ IS the Word, and thus the WORDS of the Father, speaking unto us. As it is written:

    I John 3:I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

    John 7:16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.

    John 12:44 Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.

    When Christ Jesus says 'My words,' they are not His as far as where; Who, they came from. The words of God's Word; Christ, are the words of His Father, just as Christ; God's Word, is God's; the Father's.

    There are so many beautiful and deep things touched upon in the prayer that Jesus Christ prayed to His Father in John, chapter 17. One thing is that He says, in so many words, 'Father, you gave mankind ME, and I gave them your WORDS.

    John 17:1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
    And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

    6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou GAVEST THEM ME; and they have kept thy word.

    7 Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.

    8 For I have GIVEN unto them THE WORDS which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

    20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

    21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

    22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

    23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

    24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

    25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.

    26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

    John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

    10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

    23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

    24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is NOT MINE, but the Father's which sent me.

    25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
