Adam, you have freewill, yes? How do you exercise your free will? I've already explained how I exercise mine. If you believe your "freewill" is stronger than God's will for your life, go ahead and put it to the test. Everyone I've come across that believes salvation can be lost always bring up freewill and they say that those who believe in eternal security think they can go out and sin all they want. Why is that? You say you can be tempted to sin and the Holy Spirit can convict you, but you can still choose to sin?

Every believer can be tempted to sin, and every believer does commit single acts of sin. However, a true genuine believer cannot live a lifestyle of continuous sin, the lifestyle they lived prior to salvation. It's impossible. I tried to explain my view to you, but this becoming Hitler, committing mass murder, and worshipping Satan doesn't even come close to the view I presented to you.

And why do you believe Judas was a Christian? I would like to know how you come to that conclusion. Judas betrayed Christ because it was prophesied that he would. When God prophesies something, it will happen. And Peter was told ahead of time that he would deny Christ. Peter learned his lesson, wouldn't you say? Why did Jesus ask Peter three times "Do you love me?" Since you say both Judas and Peter were Christians, and one denied Christ, and one betrayed Him, did they lose their salvation?

Let me ask you this. What makes a person a Christian? Can a person be a Christian if they don't have the Spirit of Christ living in them?

Let me give you another answer you ask of me. You ask why do we see Christian pastors and worship leaders periodically leave and denounce the faith? Many professing believers do leave and denounce the faith. I don't disagree with that. But you want to know why they leave. 1 John 2:19 tells you why. They leave because they were not genuine believers. Pretty simple!

I hope you take the time to answer my questions, as I have answered yours.

    Matthew 22:32-33...7:15; Ezekiel 34:12

    John 10:12, 8

    Luke 15:4-7

    1 Peter 2:5

People are sheep, or a goat. Jesus is THE SHEPHERD. He will know who is what.

There also are wolves in sheep's clothing and ravening wolves.

If the sheep are lost, we need to take them over to 1 John verses 5-10; particularly verse 9. Show them how to get all that mud and stickers out of their wool. Baby Christians need to learn to run to Jesus and pray verse 9. Lay it all out and admit everything. They learn to love clean and Light.

    A new commandment 1 John 2:8-17

1 John 3:10 in this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness, is NOT of God (a goat); neither he that loveth not his brother.

Once I got to carry a "lamb" in intercessory prayer, for weeks. Someone desperately wanting to die. As soon as that person turned to God for help, I was released. If Jesus let's you carry a lamb you will never be the same person. Sheep, lamb, goat?

Deason, I agree that a Christian is someone who has been born again of God's Spirit, or Holy Ghost, and believing the gospel is also important. But wouldn't you agree that belief in itself is not enough to save a person, that they have to receive Christ in order to be saved? James 2:19 says that even the demons believe. But their belief does not save them.

I am not trying to discredit anything you are saying, and I agree with everything you said for the most part. I just didn't see any mention about receiving Christ. You are spot on about eternal life, and about people who claim to be Christians but have never been born again. I think you just described the people Adam is referring to in his post, the ones who claim to be followers, but then later denounce the whole thing. I don't think those people were ever saved to begin with. 1 John 2:19 describes the people Adam is referring to. Those people were never saved, even though they were "followers," proving John's point!

Hello, Jesus's first miracle was turning water into alcoholic wine which was at a party, as confirmed by this verse: John 2:10. Since Jesus did this I do not believe it is a sin to drink moderately. However, it is a sin to get drunk. It's also a sin to lead others into temptation or to stumble, for example, a recovering alcoholic is with you and you order a drink. 1 Corinthians 8:9-13

Jesus already said exactly who he came for. Luke 19:10, Mark 2:17. He came for the lost and sinners. Who is lost and a sinner? Romans 3:23 - Everyone. So, Jesus came for everyone- that's exactly what the Bible says. Jesus gave a firm warning to those who try to deceive others by twisting or denying what Jesus said: Mark 8:38, 1 John 2:22-23.

James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

(Call any Synagogue and ask them if Jesus is the Messiah or Christ)

Tona Mondesir.. Exodus 20:13 Thou shalt not kill..We all have made mistakes and done things in our life that we regret, the beautiful part of having a heart relationship with Jesus Christ is that we can ask for forgiveness for our sins and then like Jesus told the woman at the well in John 8:11 go and sin no more. Also in 1 John 2:1 And if anyone sin, we have an advocate of the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. We have help if we want it, Satan is the one, who after we confess our sins continues to make us feel guilty and ashamed of our sins..Jesus said I forgive you we must believe it..Faith

The Bible defines what is an antichrist or who.
The King James Bible definition of an antichrist fits a group of people very well.
1 John 2:22 - Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
(ALL Jews deny Jesus and that makes them antichrist, if they believed in Jesus then they would be CHRISTIANS. IF you do not believe me call any Synagogue and ask them if Jesus is the Messiah.)
1 John 2:23 - Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
If Jews do not accept Jesus as messiah, then who is their messiah?

Adam, Even in the old testament the message always was be ye holy as I Am holy. 1 Peter 1 States be ye holy for I AM holy. Can a person be saintly sinner or sinning saint? Is there scripture for that? If so, please state so. I would like to know. One must read scripture and be doers, not just readers only. We aren't called, as followers of Jesus Christ, to b translators but hearers and doers of the word. Read 1 John 2:1. He says he writes these things that we should SIN NOT.

Our part in salvation is being obedient to God God's law but we can not do that unless we have a daily heart relationship with Jesus. Romans 6:23 The wages of sin is death.Satan is constantly trying to tempt us by leading us into sin by being disobedient to God. We are assured that 1 John 2:1 if we sin we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

St. John 2:9-11 "When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: but the servants which drew the water knew the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, 10And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now."
  • Adam - In Reply on Proverbs 20 - 5 years ago
John 2:10 is Jesus's first miracle of turning water to wine and it indicates people got drunk of this wine. So, this confirms it contained alcohol. Wine by definition is fermented grape juice containing alcohol and if it does not, then it is not wine, but grape juice. Both the word 'wine' is used and the word 'drunk' is used here.

Freedom Now-Not one will be lost as long as they are being obedient to God. We are tempted by the devil day and night and our only hope of staying obedient to God is by constant prayer to Him. 1 John 2:1 If we do sin we have an advocate with the Father through Jesus Christ the righteousness. Phil 2:12 Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. It is NOT once saved always saved

God created us. He wrote us what we are to do in this world. He put the Bible in front of us to help us in any situation. Any trail we go in is putting us in the fire to toughen us. We either listen to the evilness and make it harder on us, or we turn to Him in prayer to help us through it. Always opposite of the world. No mankind can hurt me...for my God is close by my side.Protecting!

James and John, Zebedee s sons, are always mentioned together. Mary and Jesus brothers sisters travel with Jesus. NO Joseph. John 2:12, Mark 3:31, Mark 6:3. Mary is the wife of Cleophas. John 19:25 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene. Cleopas KNEW all about Jesus because he married Mary. ..like grace to pay a bill - grace is time between either your death, or the end of the earth to have as much faith as possible that will lead to being a righteous person before judgement, which will occur 7 days after the end of earth as it is today. ..again james 2:20-22. You can't know God unless you do his commandments!!!!! 1 John 2:3.
