Do you consider yourself a Christian? To be a Christian means you follow Jesus Christ and if you don't believe Jesus is Lord then that is similar to what nonbelievers think. Some even admit who Jesus is, but still stubbornly won't accept Him. It's a spiritual battle. Matthew 7:21
John 14:6 - No one comes to the Father (also God) but through Jesus.
1 John 5:7 "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."
John 10:30 "I and my Father are one."
John 8:19 "if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also."
Philippians 2:5 - 2:8 "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:"
2 Corinthians 5:19 "To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation."
John 1:3 - All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
John 20:28
Pretty hard to disregard all these Biblical truths about Jesus. He became flesh and died for you. Have you tried praying and asking who Jesus is and to reveal that to you?
To put it in context with the verse you supplied and to be direct.
I begin with "Sin" separates us from God.
Jesus is to you, me and the WHOLE world the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 2:2.
Here's the definition for Propitiation.
Greek:
Transliteration: hilasmos
Pronunciation: hil-as-mos'
Definition: atonement that is (concretely) an expiator: - propitiation.
KJV Usage: propitiation.
To expiate is to make amends or reparation for; atone for: expiate one's sins by acts of penance. To make amends; atone.
"The penalty of sin has been paid"
Here's how John the baptist describes him.
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. John 1:29.
Now, to put my first reply in harmony with this post,
Though Jesus is our propitiation for our sins, we must accept him and believe this good news.
"The Gospel".
1 Corinthians 15:3-4.
Romans 10:9-10. ect...
If we reject this good news here's our fate.
Hebrews 10:26-27. For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
When we have been truly born again we're given the a new nature and power over sin.
Romans 6:20-22. For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
I hope this helps.
God bless.
Casting lots is simply so we can understand that it's God's work and God's appointed timing. We receive these benefits of mercy and truth at God's appointed time and by HIS WORKS.
1 John 2:27 But the anointing which you have received of him ABIDETH IN YOU, and you need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it (the anointing) has taught you, you shall abide in him.
Colossians 1:27 ....this mystery....CHRIST IN YOU.....
Philippians 2:13 For it is God (CHRIST IN YOU) that WORKETH IN YOU both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.
You are THE BODY OF CHRIST, the new BIRTH.
I believe you are referring to
1 John 2:2 And he is the PROPITIATION for our sins: and not for our's only, BUT ALSO FOR THE SINS OF THE WHOLE WORLD.
Christ is an expiator. our atonement.
This is made available but we must be careful not to deceive ourselves.
If one have been truly born again he/she has been transformed and habitual sin not present in their life.
I believe we should also consider
Romans 6:1-11. What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
For he that is dead is freed from sin.
Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
Likewise "RECKON" ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
I believe Paul is telling us to Recognize that we are dead to sin!
and it shouldn't have a hold on you.
I hope this helps.
God bless.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
I received these words today, so I'm sure I did not plan this. Each and every one has his service to God. Also in a church with pictures. For everything depends on what we do with the images, they get bigger and get more attention than Jesus Christ, we know it is not from the good.
Be Blessed Sister 1 John 2:13-14
In the name of Jesus Christ, love you in Christ.
Stay blessed in our Jesus Christ holy name He loves you.
Mark 5:25-34,
Just recently GOD revealed somethings even deeper about that moment. I'm glad you're discussing so I can share it. In Leviticus 12, Leviticus 15:19-33, Leviticus 21:3, I think it's amazing Jesus called her "daughter" making her faith the (close kinship) also: Luke 8:43-48, Matthew 9:20-22, Galatians 3:26,
Also understanding that her touching him could have had the uncleanness, if He were not the High Priest that makes atonement. Hebrews 2:17, Hebrews 4:14,15,
Hebrews 5:5-10, Hebrews 6:20, Hebrews 7:11, even though; Luke 1, shows His family was of that bloodline, Luke 1:5-37,
Also notable Jesus garment was without seams as the Priestly garment: John 19:23,24, Exodus 28:32, Exodus 29:23, 1Samuel 2:18,19,
Wesley's Notes for Revelation 3:18
I counsel thee - who art poor, and blind, and naked. To buy of me - Without money or price. Gold purified in the fire - True, living FAITH, which is purified in the furnace of affliction. And white raiment - True holiness. And eyesalve - Spiritual illumination; the unction of the Holy One, which teacheth all things (the Holy Spirit)
People's Bible Notes for Revelation 3:18
I counsel thee to buy of me gold. In Christ are "all the treasures of wisdom" ( Colossians 2:3). And white raiment. That they may have the wedding garments ( Matthew 22:11-13). Anoint thine eyes with eyesalve. The unction of the Holy Spirit ( 1John 2:20).
Many people have no faith to ask Jesus, themselves, to be healed (physically, emotionally, financially, making decisions, etc). Why?
It's one thing to lay on your mat and stare at Jesus wishing he would heal you. The man explained his parents must've sinned. Jesus had mercy on him. Stand up, pick up your mat and walk home. The man lays there a minute, then obeys. He stands up, dances around leaping for joy-picks up his mat and walks home.
His faith in Jesus's ability, opposed his belief in his parents sins. His faith stood up.
ONLY THE BIBLE can counteract our unbelief and excuses why we are sick or downtrodden by society at large.
Mix faith with obedience to the known Will of God.
Pray the Lords Prayer, and let your ears hear each line. Each one is a YES and AMEN, from God the Father.
Let's be real here? If there's some kind of hidden sin hindering that prayer; dig it up and give it to Jesus. "I did "this" and I'm sorry for it." Jesus's blood erases it. Guard your heart and mind.
The Lords Prayer says, THIS DAY. This is a daily thing. I do it every day. I'm not perfect yet. Some day I may shine a little like gold or silver, that I purchased with prayers. I have His Love and Acceptance now. So do you.
Mishael
6000 commands, you know thats ridiculous, let's be real, and honest. You have been simply regurgitating the false talking points of the Grace+Faith+0 crowd that is out there misleading many today.
Jesus only asks us to try to keep 10 Commandments, just as He Himself did, and as his apostles also struggled to do all their lives!
Here is the Apostle John instructing us to follow Christ and the Commandments.
1 John 2:3-6
"And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments."
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
We are to walk as Christ walked, and Apostle John says that if we say that we know Christ, but do not follow his commandments, then we are a liar. That's very powerful, and very clear! Something to think about.
In summary, I will now exit this thread, because I can see that your argument, is really not with me, but directly with Jesus Christ.
Read and Believe!
Today, there are some 'Christians' who don't take their faith seriously & may even have one foot in the world, hoping that there will still be time ahead to set things right before the Lord. But no one can know the day of their death or the day of the Lord's Return; readiness & holy living are hallmarks of the child most beloved of the Lord. And when Jesus comes for us, "we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming" (1 John 2:28).
Part 4.
God has never predestined anybody to be lost. That's where your free will comes in, and you have to determine for yourself what your choice will be. Predestination refers only to those who are saved. What it actually means is that when God starts out with one hundred sheep, He is going to come through with one hundred sheep. "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren" ( Rom. 8:28-29). Dr. R. A. Torrey used to say that this is a wonderful pillow for a tired heart. Those who are called according to His purpose are predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son. We're talking now about saved people. Romans goes on to explain how this is done. "Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified" ( Rom. 8:30). When God starts out with one hundred sheep, He will come through with one hundred sheep. You must admit that that is a good percentage.
So we have Predestination and Mans free will.
I don't know how to reconcile them, but they are both true. The Father gives men to Christ, but men have to come. And the ones that come are the ones, apparently, whom the Father gives to Him.
End J Vernon Mcgee's Quote.
Some believe in what's called limited atonement. "Christ died for ONLY the elect, and they say "the elect" is who's predestinated.
Here's a verse that refutes that.
1 John 2:2. And he is the propitiation for our sins: AND NOT FOR OUR'S ONLY, BUT ALSO FOR THE SINS OF THE WHOLE WORLD.
I hope this helps.
God bless.
John 1:5 also prophetic of Isaiah 60:2, if crucifixion isn't dark, I don't know what time is. Ephesians 5:11,
Isaiah 5:20, John 12:46,
Isaiah 6:8-10, Mark 4:12, also prophecy, fulfilled
Hopefully these are helpful
By your invitation, I will share my view. I believe that Satan is an actual created spiritual being, not a name for temptation.
We are tempted by Satan or one of his fallen angels to sin. These use our weaknesses to tempt us.
James also says that we tempt ourselves.
"But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is full-gown, brings forth death." James 1:14-15
John also tells us that the world tempts us.
"For all that is in the world-the lust of the flesh, the list of the eyes, and the pride of life-is not of the Father but of this world."
1John 2:16
Satan was Jesus' tempter in the desert where Jesus fasted for 40 days. The two had conversations. It was not Jesus haing conversation with Himself, but a conversation between two beings.
(1) He ascended to His Father ( Luke 24:49-53; Acts 1:6-11).
(2) He is our eternal Mediator ( 1 Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 8:6; 1 John 2:1.
(3) He is our Savior: "Thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins" ( Matthew 1:21, KJV). "Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins" ( Acts 5:31, KJV).
He is the only Savior. "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved" ( Acts 4:12, NIV).
He is a complete Savior. "Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them" ( Hebrews 7:25, KJV).
He is a personal Savior. "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness: and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation" ( Romans 10:9, 10, KJV).
The Consummation of His Work:
(1) He shall return again to this earth ( Acts 1:11; Hebrews 10:37; John 14:3).
(2) Believers in Christ shall be bodily resurrected to begin a new, undying life ( 1 Thessalonians 4:17-18; 1 Corinthians 15:51-58).
(3) He will reign as King of kings and Lord of lords over His new creation ( 2 Peter 3:10-13; Revelation 22:3-5).
God Bless
JC
(2) The prophecy was fulfilled to the letter. "Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favor with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus" ( Luke 1:30, 31, KJV).
(3) Jesus demonstrated human characteristics: He became tired ( John 4:6). He thirsted ( John 19:28), He ate food ( Luke 24:40-43), He showed feelings ( Mark 6:34), He wept ( John 11:35), He knew temptation ( Hebrews 4:15), and He died ( John 19:30).
Jesus Christ Accomplished the Works of His Father:
(1) He died on the Cross. This is the fundamental theme of the Gospel.
The fact of His death-One-fourth of the Gospels are dedicated to His Passion and Resurrection. (a) For this purpose He came into the world ( John 12:27). (b) His death was prophesied hundreds of years before He came ( Isaiah 53:3-8).
The meaning of His death. (a) It was a ransom for sin ( Matthew 20:28; Romans 3:24; 1 Peter 1:18). (b) It was to pay the penalty for sin ( Romans 3:24; 1 John 2:2; 4:10). Man is the object of God's wrath because of rebellion and sin, but God took the initiative in satisfying His wrath by sending His own Son to Calvary. (c) It is a reconciliation. The enmity between us and God has ended ( Romans 5:10), and we are restored to God ( 2 Corinthians 5:18, 19). (d) It is a substitution: He died in our place ( 1 Peter 3:18; 2 Corinthians 5:21). (e) In summary, the matter of sin has been completely dealt with ( 1 Peter 2:24; Hebrews 9:26; Hebrews 10:12).
(2) He was resurrected from the dead: This is unique and fundamental to Christianity.
The reality of the Resurrection ( John 20:1-10; 1 Corinthians 15:4).
The credibility of the Resurrection: (a) Jesus predicted it: Matthew 13:39-41; Luke 24:1-7. (b) The tomb was empty: John 20:11-13. (c) Many witnesses saw Him alive: the women ( Luke 23:55, 56); Mary Magdalene
We must not look for one country, when the beast ascends from the bottomless pit and Satan gives his power, seat, and authority to him Revelation 13, this world will change. The ten horns of the beast are ten kings/leaders, they give their strength and power to the beast. We do not know what nations and armies they will control, but we do know it will be the nations of the world.
The battle of Armageddon will start just before the return of Jesus, Revelation 19:11. The ten kings/leaders, along with the beast and false prophet will make war with Jesus, Revelation 17:14 we know what happens Revelation 19:19-21.
God bless,

Then just use the Search Box to search those names.
The teaching is, that earth and creation was made for man (translates as male or female).
Only Humans had Been given DOMINION; power and authority to use it. Satan stole it when Adam and Eve sinned. Satan was created. He had no authority to be on earth as Human. His first form was as a serpent. His fallen angelic form, took possession of that serpent to deceive the humans.
Jesus Took Back the dominion ( Genesis 3:15) from Satan at the CROSS. He crushed Satan's head (power).
Please understand this. Satan has no authority or power over BORN AGAIN BELIEVERS.
We don't have to lay down and suffer Satans threats or oppression. He cannot get inside of Believers in Jesus. We have the Holy Spirit indwelling inside of our born again spirits given to us through Jesus.
We have the authority and the power to command Satan to GET OUT of our lives, our family, our homes, job opportunities, relatives. Our prayers have power, but we have to accept it and use it. Our relationship to Jesus needs to become close. We can only do that by getting into the Bible and soaking up scriptures for ourself.
If someone hands you a billion dollars, and you only use it, one hamburger and French fries at a time__you can't see what Jesus provided for you. Scriptures are your weapons. ( Matthew 12:43-45). The evil spirits come back ever so often to see if you really meant for them to move out. Reaffirm As Needed. Ephesians 6: they are invisible, but when "all hell" breaks loose, in your world: it's time to fight back with your ARSENAL OF WEAPONS. Memorize the scriptures. Ask the Holy Spirit to bring them to your mind; in the heat of battle.
Walking free of hidden sun, or forgotten sin, can be dealt with at 1 John 1:9, 1 John 2:1-2 + 2:20. The Holy One is the Holy Spirit.
We are HUMANS and beloved of God. Let's walk in the provision Jesus purchased in Blood.
Mishael
Some think Gog and Magog may mean Russia.
Ezekiel 38:15
They come from the north of Israel and want to attack Israel.
Armageddon in Russia & Ukraine
You're correct, there were different 'anointings' mentioned in Scripture, & specifically in the NT, in reference to the Holy Spirit and also combined with prayer for healing ( James 5:14). The 1 John 2:27 reference alludes to Jesus' Words about the future coming of the Holy Spirit to the apostles ( John 14:16,17): "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you."
In that passage, Jesus speaks of the time when He will leave this Earth & leave His beloved friends & disciples. But they should not despair as He would still be with them by His Spirit that He will send to them. So, not only will the Spirit "abide with them forever", but also 'dwell with them & be in them'. This is an intensely descriptive message of Love by Jesus, that at no time will His disciples (& us, by extension), would ever be without His loving, comforting, & guiding Presence. They would never be in this world of darkness & evil without the Lord's watchful care. Then at Pentecost, that Presence came & they were anointed with the Spirit & filled with His Presence to be children of God serving Him in joy, power, & hope. And that same anointing comes to each one who confesses their sin & truly believes in Jesus & His Power to save them.
John 14:23, "If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him", is Jesus' Promise to us.
To some it means learning a new way of walking, talking etc.
John 14:15
John 15:10
1 John 2:6
I am sorry for all who have been brainwashed by modern preachers and teachers of every modern church, as well as big-name pastors on TV and those on Christian Radio. Almost every single one of them preach nothing but unscriptural LIES.
Jesus did not allow, nor encourage, ANYBODY to break the Laws of God. That is plain silly. Jesus IS God. John 1:1, John 1:14 Nothing that was ever created, was not created by Jesus Christ John 1:3 Therefore, the 10 Commandments written IN STONE as a symbol of their FOREVER standing, were written by Christ and they are HIS Commandments. He lived as an example to all those who would follow His Ways (Christians) and He obeyed ALL those Commandments.
Post some scripture to support your claims that Jesus did these things, please.
God bless.
Sin is the breaking of the Commandments 1 John 3:4. So sin does still 100% exist and Christians are fully capable of sinning, saved or not. Therefore the 10 Commandments still 100% exist and are valid for Christians.
The Laws were clearly given in the OT to teach the Israelites how to be right with God after the Fall of this world in Eden. Under that system, they needed to do continuous sacrifices to cleanse them of sin. Jesus has become the unequaled, perfect sacrifice for all sin and abolished that system of sacrifice with His Crucifixion. All of the Mosaic CEREMONIAL Laws, that were made such a heavy burden by the Pharisees and Sadducees, have been abolished as well.
The 10 Commandments have absolutely NOT been abolished, and will never BE abolished. That is one of the biggest reasons Jesus did what He did with His life and sent us His Spirit afterward that had been trained up to obey ALL of the Commandments.
Jesus obeyed ALL the 10 and we are to live as He lived. John 15:10 1 John 2:6
Christian MEANS follower of Christ.
The 10 Commandments were the ONLY Commandments God spoke ALOUD to Israel. And they were the ONLY Commandments written IN STONE by the finger of GOD, twice.
God SPOKE this world into existence. God SPOKE the 10 Commandments into existence - NEVER to be altered or repealed.
Psalm 89:34
James 3:2 protects us from such an awful, and abominable, lie.
Scripture plainly teaches that Christians should obey ALL the 10 Commandments just exactly as Jesus Christ did.
John 15:10
1 John 2:6
What does 'Christian' mean? It means FOLLOWER of Jesus Christ and ALL His Ways. He is the Way and the Truth and the (eternal) Life IF we live as He lived and FOLLOW His Ways. All of His disciples kept all the 10 Commandments, as well as Paul and all later followers of Christ's Ways up to around 300 A.D. when many things were changed by the Emperor Constantine and the later Roman Catholic Church.
Shame on those preachers and teachers who tell new Christians that they will go to hell if they obey the Commandments of God Almighty. Nothing would make LESS sense than for those who love Jesus and strive to live righteously in a fallen, sinful world to be sent to hell by God.
Review the 10 Commandments carefully, and prayerfully, and think again if they are so impossible to keep. This is a lie from the pits of hell.
The Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ, who lived sinless His entire life, was primed during His lifetime to obey the Commandments. That Spirit is put into new, genuine, believers and ASSISTS in obeying the Commandments. Because it is Jesus' Spirit within us that makes this possible it is NOT works salvation. HIS Spirit is doing the WORK because we are not capable of our own power.
Jesus kept ALL of the 10 Commandments. John 15:10
We are to strive to do the same. If we have the Holy Spirit, it is not a burden at all; as you said, and provided scripture, we do it because we love Jesus.
The 10 Commandments are not at all difficult to keep and James 3:2 has our back when we stumble.
First, He never sleeps. Why do we have to? Yes The body of sin Screams for sleep. And then we know, we who have read a bit, that we have some good words that explain us about sleep in Proverbs 19:15 and Proverbs 20:13
I have to get a little personal here now. For my uncle, it can be said lukewarm. Think it's okay with Christmas and elves. Hymns and songs. But do not give up the self to anyone other than oneself. This is a stage where a person can become proud and stubborn. So how can I see that he can surrender to Jesus. Because we have some words that make it not "my business" to see who gets fair or not. I leave it to the Holy Spirit.
1 Timothy 1:9
Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, Here we clearly see who the law is for.
2 Timothy 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
So what does that mean to be fair and righteous? Firstly, James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
1 John 2:29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.
Romans 6:1-4
Romans 6:13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
Proverbs 4:18
Romans 6:1
We have so many benefits we who are born after Christ! There is nothing to wonder about. He who believes is saved and righteous. He did this once for all. 1 Corint 15:22
We are to walk just as Jesus walked. 1 John 2:6
When we take His Spirit into us, that is the same event as us receiving a new heart - spoken of in Ezekiel 36:26-27. Look closely at those verses. "I will ... CAUSE you to walk in My statutes, and ye SHALL keep My judgments, and do them."
Christ observed the 7th Day Sabbath every week of His life and it is the 4th Commandment. We are to do the same.
Resting in the security of His providence is a good thing to do, but it is not a substitute for the Sabbath Day of rest instituted at Creation Week - because none of the Commandments have ever been repealed. Gen. 2:2-3 God blessed and sanctified only one day ever, and what God blesses cannot be reversed. Num. 23:20
It is the only day He ever claimed to be HIS Day. Isaiah 58:13 It is the GENUINE Lord's Day that John refers to in Rev. 1:10. There is no other reference anywhere in scripture to that term and the Isaiah verse identifies which day that is.
