True Christ Followers will be obedient to all of God's 10 Commandments as taught by Jesus in the New Testament.
Luke 9:23"And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me."
John 14:15"If ye love me, keep my commandments."
Keeping God's 10 Commandments - plus the additional commandment that Jesus emphasized - to Love each other.
John 15:10 "If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love."
Jesus warns all of us that we will not enter into Salvation without keeping God's Commandments.
Revelation 22:14 "Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city."
IF a Christian is filled with God's Holy Spirit they will naturally be following all of God's/Jesus Commandments.
It's IMPOSSIBLE to live a worldly life and be a Christ follower.
The wages of sin = Death and everlasting torment in hell.
Salvation is a very important question, and should be of the utmost importance in every Christians life.
Don't trust your salvation to anyone. There is "no shortcut" or "free ticket" to salvation! Read the bible for yourself, and learn to pray directly to God thru his Son Jesus Christ, and IF you are sincere, you will learn the answer to your salvation question from God himself.
I can point out a very important verse regarding losing salvation:
Hebrews 10:26
"For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,"
Learn to Fear God.
Proverbs 9:10 "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding."
Learn to Love God.
John 14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments."
In summary, Become obedient to God, Repent from sin, Fear God, Love God, read your bible and pray, and you will be doing well.
concerning the power of the resurrection of Christ within us, Paul reveals this when stating "not I but Christ lives in me"
the Father had prepared another body for His Son to live & move & have His being in, & where Christ goes He brings His Father with Him, John 14:23
Folks,
this is the abundant life that Christ came to bring us, Life behind the veil, the Holy of Holies, there is no sin or sinning in His dwelling, which dwelling place is within our hearts. 1Cor 3:16,17
the Corithians hadn't not reach the baptizmal of Christ, yet they were believers & were living in a measure of the Grace of God. Holy Spirit had strong extortations toward them to stop living in the flesh, the veil. though they did not lack behind in many of the graces of God.
indicating, we must press on to perfection Hebrews 6:1
Thanks for you your input here regarding the ongoing topic of sin. You may in fact agree with Jessie regarding the scripture 1John:1-10 being directed at believers, but I will continue to believe that John is speaking to unbelievers/possible new converts, unless you can show me in scripture that I'm in error.
John is referring to (We) and (Them) a lot. Who is the We? Who is the Them? I believe if we breakdown the scripture we will know who these (2) groups are that he is referring to. These (2) two groups are not alike. One group is nothing like the other group. Indeed, the people in one group are the exact opposite of what the Bible describes as a Christian.
1John 1:3 (unbelievers) They do not have fellowship with us as we have with God.
We Christians: We have fellowship with Christ and all of the members of His Body. 1Cor 1:9 and 1John 1:7
1John 1:5 (unbelievers) They need to hear the message that John has heard.
We Christians: We have heard the message and have believed. Romans 10:17
1John 1:6 (unbelievers) They lie and do not live by the truth.
We Christians: We have already met the Truth and we walk by the Truth. John 14:62John 1:4
1John 1:7 (unbelievers) They need to be purified from all sin.
We Christians: We have been purified from all sin. Heb 10:10
1John 1:8 (unbelievers) They are deceived.
We Christians: We are filled with the Spirit of Truth. John 14:17
1John 1:9 (unbelievers) They need to be purified from all unrighteousness.
We Christians: We have received the gift of forgiveness, and have been made righteous. 1Cor 6:11. Eph 1:7
1John 1:10 (unbelievers) They are calling God a liar.
We Christians: We agree with God. Romans 10:9-13
1John 1:10 (unbelievers) God's word has no place in their lives.
"So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubim, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life."
The Holy Spirit began the narrative by 'now' which refers to the characteristic of serpent as created by God. So the fall of man must be seen 'in the present' as against the eternal mind of God where emblem of the slain Lamb or the brazen serpent raised on a pole ( John 3:14), which implied the death of his Son. In order to set the context of his fall the Spirit points to another emblem, which is also about the Son. I am the way, the truth and life." Jesus declared, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." ( John 14:6) So Salvation plan as determined by the Lord God was neither from the east west south or north but was Person specific. This tree of life symbolized the prince of Life.
The cherubim is often represented as fiery beings attendant upon the Lord and jealous for His holiness. The flaming sword which turned every way therefore is to be understood beyond the heaven and earth and the kingdom of God. As mentioned earlier cardinal directions as we know the term have no bearing upon the Lord God As the visible image of the invisible God in him was the fulness of the heights and of the depths.
" For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:/ And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the pre-eminence./ For it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell."( Col 1:15-19)
God blessed man on the sixth day (Ge.1:28-30). The everlasting covenant has been signed and sealed between God and Man,the Spirit annotates the abstract "and, behold, it was very good"-1:31). Those who still would not enter theerin and be part of the day sanctified is marked by 666. He is, to all intent and purpose, the son of perdition.
We have been studying in these two chapters how God placed Adam in the Garden planted by Him.
He did not need anyone telling him with regards to the commandment.
Now this advise from the serpent,"And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die."(v.4)
Evil communication corrupts good manners and it is what happening with Eve. As flesh and boned drawn from the man she was in the full know being a living soul herself. What he was, she was in her own right as the Bride. "At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you."( John 14:20) This is what the Spirit referred " and they shall be one flesh."
In going along with his gratuitous remark she looks at the forbidden fruit and she sees it as he wanted her to see. In order to guard aginst ii the Spirit gives us this recipe. "For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light."(Ps.36:9)
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
I hope all is well with you. Thank you for your kind reply.
See, my objective was only and only to remind you of what is written: GOD the Father is greater than JESUS, GOD the Son, as JESUS Himself said - John 14:28.
For your knowledge and other posters, I live in the city of Joinville, south of Brazil, close to Argentina, so according to the time zone of the Greenwich laboratory, I think there is a difference of 4 hours based on the schedule indicated in the message on the website.
God created everything, nothing was made the God didn't create. John 1:3 Yes, God states that He created everything, so that includes evil, he also created good, you my friend have the choice to choose which one you prefer. If God only created good, we wouldn't be talking. If everything he created could only be good and do good, that would be like God creating robots that could only do good, right?
Freewill.
He created all beings to have a freewill, many choose to sin. We all have to make a choice. The devil and his demons made a choice, Adam and Eve also, and all those living in the past, and living now in the present also get to make the same choice of living in the light or darkness. John2:19-20
God loved us so much that He sent His Son to save us. If we listen to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and pick up our cross and follow in His footsteps he will assure us of salvation. This is Love! God loves us and if we love Him we should reject this world, (satan) and follow Christ. If we are living worldly lives we are not following Christ! It's easy to spot true Christ followers, they are few, and they will not be living worldly lives. Easy to understand this verse Matt 7:14
There is another side to this Love/Fear coin. Fear (Wisdom). God tells us to fear Him so that we realise that we need to repent in order to be saved. So God provides us with a carrot (promise of Salvation) if we believe and follow Christ and incorporate what he teaches into our lives. He also provides a stick (Fear of dying and going to hell to suffer for eternity).
When we accept Christ, and follow His commands he indwells in our heart and we have his Holy Spirt to Chastise us, or approve of what we do. If we listen, and follow His Spirit we walk in the light, and grow in sanctification. John 14:20
Lastly, God states that He created everything so that includes evil, he also created good, you my friend have the choice to choose which one you prefer.
"And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul."
The Spirit of God moving upon the face of the waters also garnished the sky. What Job says about it does not contradict the ch.1:2. "By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent."( Job 26:13).The crooked serpent is of same weight as the tree of knowledge of good and evil, a point which we discussed earlier. God is a Spirit and his kingdom rules over all. (Ps.103:19) When God said Let there be light, the stars did not evolve willy-nilly by some strange series of coincidences but by the word of God. "By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth." So what holds the dust, water vapor, the stars and the moon together? Is it not Jesus Christ the word become flesh?
"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them./And God blessed them." God made man as His steward for the reason of the homogeneity that the word could create out of the two worlds. They are framed by the word of God and faith is what holds man and his world. Jesus Christ as the firstborn of His creation,
We shall see from what proceeds in the rest of this chapter that whatever knowable of God and his kingdom was imparted to Adam. Why would God do that? Jesus explains, "That where I am, there ye may be also".( John 14:3b)
The Spirit presents the man in full possession of his faculties so he did not need any other to teach him of good and evil. He was the son of God. ( Luke 3:38)
In my understand and vision you need to re-study what you wrote for good self-correction. Remember: JESUS said: John 14:28 - 28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is GREATER than I. I highlighted this detail in my prior post.
And about the person of the Holy Spirit I said and explained also he is the lesser among the three. By the way, in Revelation 11:4 JESUS called the person of the Holy Spirit as God of the earth.
Surely, as you said, "we must go with faith, just accept it as it written".
Lev 26:15-21 God is speaking to His people, the history of the children of Israel full of this. 2 Chronicles 7:14Jeremiah 3:22Hosea 6:1,2
Christ brings this into the NT John 12:40Acts 28:27
Hebrews 12:5-11 speaking of His children
He does this in His merciful lovingkindness to us, we being so blinded by the deceitfulness of sin, it must be scourge out, define as "to flog" lit or fig, God as a father chastising and training men as children by affliction,
Chastisement; Education or training; by implication, disciplinary correction, chastening, instruction, nurture.
There's two kinds of fear, & many manifestations of each, all grounded in one of the two, godly fear which foundation is grounded in obedient reverential love for God.
The other, Satan counter part, grounded in disobedience which brings torment, where condemnation & guilt in one's own heart follows them wherever they go, for they have offended the Holy God; they having continue in disobedience to the Grace of God which appears in their hearts.
God's love in chastising correction, cast this fear & torment out
& why? John 14:21, which defines love, which makes way for John 14:23 one's habitation becomes a dwelling place for Perfect Love in the work of Sanctification of the Spirit unto obedience & sprinkling of the Blood/Life of Jesus.
thus "for our profit, that we might be partakers of His holiness.
Hebrews 12:11 exercising the Grace of God, the Word of Righteousness in discerning between Good & evil,, there's suffering in the Cross to learn righteousness. 1Pet 4:1
Then we have Job, who God said is perfect, Job 2:3; which trials, suffering & afflictions is of a much higher concept than punishment for disobedience, James 5:11
Hebrews 11:33 for this purpose "obtain a better resurrection"
one eighty, you would do well to live out your call name.
your in darkness, deceived; dwelling, speaking & judging falsely against God
"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."
Considering God is a Spirit and has a visible image in his Son, to embody His unseen qualities of holiness. This necessitates this curious expression. In his own image refers to Jesus Christ the visible image of the invisible God. ( Col. 1:15a) When the Spirit admonishes us, "Be ye holy, for I am holy" it is what the Word become flesh was. ""Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:"(1 Pe.2:22). At the end of his earthly ministry Jesus could say, " For the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me." ( John 14:30)
When he set an example how could anyone say he has faith but deny the works? Jesus explained what was the work of God that any man may do. "This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent." He also said "Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart."(Matt.11:29-30) Without taking his yoke and learning of him through straight and narrow what nonsense do we hear of left, right, liberal as though a Christian may run with hares and hunt with jackals? Faith must be wrought in God, and not in the many causes the children of wrath espouse. "But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God."( John 3:21;6:29) In his own image demands your total commitment so the glory of the knowledge in the face of our Savior we behold in our hearts and grow from glory to glory.
Male and female created he them. In case of Adam, Eve was already represented as in the Fellowship of God with Man we have our destinies embedded in the Man component. The deep sleep in Adam foreshadows the death and resurrection of the Son. The Spirit narrates the creation of a holy family in him. Adam is a double for Jesus Christ who of God has become wisdom.(1 Co.1:30) Wisdom is the feminine principle. Pr.9:1 "Of whose are we' (He.3:6)
"And the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep." (v.1)
From the curious phrasing the Spirit would have us pay attention to it. In the case of Daniel visions were either morning or night visions.. Here the angel wakes up Zechariah as he did earlier with Elijah. So there is certain urgency and it was vital for his ministry. There lay a long road before Elijah but he was spiritually and physically exhausted, "Then he lay down under the bush and fell asleep. All at once an angel touched him and said, "Get up and eat." (1 Ki.19:5-NIV). While it was confusion what with such opposition building up before Joshua and Zerubabbel, the angel of the Lord wakes Zechariah in order to demonstrate the vital ingredient required in the temple building either in Jerusalem or in heaven. The candlestick signifies unity of the Spirit. In the king's dream that Daniel interpreted had a single measure,- the gold standard of faith. Against which the quality of nations showed up as gold, silver, brass, iron and miry clay.
In the vision which the angel of the Lord shows Zechariah is something else: 'behold a candlestick all of gold.". In the coming posts we shall examine in detail how every saint of God is set down,- and his ministry no matter what, can never be approved without each part supplying the whole. "And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace."( John 1:16) Jesus Christ the Mediator between heaven and the earth signifies the solid gold candlestick and each of us must be centered in it, "At that day ye shall know that Iamin my Father, and ye in me, and I in you."( John 14:20)
For meditation: "This is why it is said: "Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you."(Ep.5:14)
"And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child./ And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent."
Before we get into the topic we shall brush up some facts in terms of history. Three and half years of the ministry of Jesus can be fixed and also give the date of crucifixion as April 3, AD. 33. The point we want to make is that death could not hold him back and he promised, "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."( John 14:3-NIV ) He has his work while he is set down on the right hand of the Most high. He upholds all things by the word of his power is precisely according to the everlasting covenant. So what we considered so far was in terms of a base line that is one thousand two hundred and three score days. This applies to the world of the body where we speak of the Word become flesh, to give it a generic term we settle it to say,'in human likeness.' Being risen he shall never die again, "For the death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God."(Ro.6:9-10-ESV)
Before 'the hour' of judgment of Babylon is come we have this, "And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,"(Re.14:6). Jesus Christ is the same yesterday today and forever. So we have four gospels covering both heaven and the earth. 'Lo, I am with you' (Matt.28:20) The everlasting gospel explains the word sent forth before the worlds began returning to God and it shall never return to him in void. This explains the command number 4 so Jesus was seen for 40 days after resurrection.
I have always stated that in the end; God has a certain number of people that enter hell; and a set number in heaven and since God is fair and an impartial judge ( Romans 2:11) that no one will be able to prove Him wrong; or even want to question the final verdict. The wicked will be speechless and the righteous rejoice forever. This settles any issues with OSAS or Predestination for that matter; and even free will. There are those who hate the light and love darkness ( John 3:19-21).
There are as I mentioned before HUNDREDS of verses that on the surface may appear to render the OSAS concept void; but when we consider the context; the concluding meanings of the text and other factors more often than not it appears to support this idea. Again the scriptures that indate there is no longer any condemnation ( Romans 8:1) for believers; we have "passed from death to life ( John 5:24); will never die ( John 11:25) and a plethora of other supporting texts shows eternal security for a TRUE believer in Christ.
My emphasis was on the FRUIT of one's life rather than just what is verbalized. One's heart determines their course of action; the righteous is contrasted with the wicked shown in passages such as Mark 7:20-23. Christ for the wicked is a means to an end; whether it be financial security (such as for those who buy into the prosperity gospel or are out to borrow money and fleece those who are called to follow passages such as Luke 6:30.) Christ for the righteous on the other hand is God in the flesh and we are compelled through the Spirit and a new heart to serve with love and obedience (See John 14:15 and read rest of the chapter for further context). Again; loving our enemies and dying for them isn't something natural man will do (see Romans 5:7-9). If we understand the indebtedness we have to Christ and not just a band aid for our sin behavior but a death sentence to our SIN NATURE through the new life in Christ we are saved.
OSAS and the family of God and how we are saved to be part of the Body of Christ as well as individually
Revelation 19:14 states: "and the armies in heaven, clothed in [b]fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses".
Revelation 2:26-27 says 26 "And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: 27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father."
Perhaps a reminder of the exhortation of 1 John 2:10 is needed at this point. "He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him." The next verse states the opposite state of a soul who hates his brother; that is being in darkness. We are adopted sons and daughters ( Ephesians 1:5 and many other verses) and part of something vastly bigger than ourselves. If we are saved we are no longer our own ( 1 Cor. 6:19) and bought with a price. Therefore our commission and omission of transgressions affects not only us but others in our midst as well; particularly true in regard to the body of Christ. Salvation itself; therefore in order to be genuine begins to give the true convert a sense of being "seated in heavenly places" ( Eph. 2:6). That verse shows how we are in that state together as well in the Body of Christ not just as individuals.
What matters to those who the Godhead dwells ( John 14:23) is the Lord's concerns. Note that keeping God's Word is a part of the verse indicating those who are truly possessed by the Holy Ghost. God gets all the glory and does all the work; but we are responsible to work out our salvation with fear and trembling (Phillipians 2:12) demonstrating our inner heart through our outer actions and works. The persevering is part of God's work of sanctification; but of course we need to be demonstrating good works predestined for us to do from the foundation of the world ( Ephesians 2:10).
Is there any specific place for heaven? The Spirit gives it a concrete image, 'Heaven is my throne,' and Sovereign will of God is the Law. "Forever, O Lord, your word is settled in heaven (Ps.119:89-NKJV)." This throne is in consonance with the eternal word and established as the Law regulating all events persons and places accordingly.
Jesus said, 'In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you ( John 14:2).' John in his vision gives us a preview of the fullness of God, which covers the earth and heaven to which the three heavens belong. (See under R-The Book of the Revelation)
In the wilderness what God was a pattern and He commanded Moses,' According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, so shall ye make it.(Ex.25:9).' What St John sees in his vision ("And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices"-Re.4:5) can we not make a schematic representation of the house of God? We can assign the Most Holy Place at the apex of a cone set on the earth. Voice of God is signified with thunderings and lightenings. God who no one can approach to it or see(1 Ti.6:16) signifies Holiest of the holies. "And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God." The Throne and memorials of God signify Trinity in which the seven lamps constitute the Holy Spirit.
Once again; the verse "the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom" is a necessary verse to quote and is found in Proverbs as well as at least a couple places in Psalms. Assuming that there is a genuine conversion needs to be in word and deed. Confessing with our mouth must be accompanied by believing in our heart ( Romans 10:9-10). Believing in our heart must involve; of course a heart change as Ezekiel 36:26 indicates. Evidence of that is an understanding that as sinners we are coming from being ENEMIES of God (i.e. the enmity is in both directions) as Romans 5:10 indicates. True faith understands the painful sacrifice of Christ to pay the redemption through the atonement which only His blood could do in our behalf. Obedience accompanies true love for God as John 14:15 indicates. RECOGNITION that we are crucified with Christ ( Galatians 2:20) means that our new nature is now having new affections and the old one is something which we no longer find our "default" mode. We are beyond wanting to avoid sin because of the consequences but because we recognize that we are offending a Holy God who dwells in us ( 2 Cor. 5:1; and apparently the meaning implicit in John 1:14 where He dwells in us. True salvation never brings contentment with sin; we may fall away but as Proverbs says in chapter 24; verse 16 he rises again; but it is not so for the wicked. We are saved by grace but always have potential to sin and a true believer will be as Paul was cognizant and wary of anything that will get in the way until the end of this earthly existance ( Philippians 3:12-14). This is like 1 Corinthians 9:24 in striving to gain the prize.
Another related situation is that a true believer recognizes that rewards can be attained or lost according to Revelation 3:11. Realizing that we can enter heaven but as through the fire suffering loss ( 1 Cor. 3:15) shows salvation is the beginning of the journey of a truly saved person
Power principle of God is complemented by Wisdom principle, which can be explained in the Father Son relationship in many ways. In terms of the Word and expression, its glory in expression gives a sign language, which is expressed by the Spirit as a narrative mode. For example God gives charge to young Jeremiah which is a token, "Then the LORD reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, 'I have put my words in your mouth' "(Je.1:9). Similarly He gives Ezekiel a roll that empowers him for the purpose. "And he said to me, "Son of man, eat what is before you, eat this scroll; then go and speak to the people of Israel.(Ez.3:1)" Jeremiah was young but it was His Power and His wisdom doing the tasks, "Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound thee before them".(Je.1:17)
When Jesus would cure the deaf and mute he looks up thereby fixing his faith which came from his Father, "And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened..(Mark.7:34)
Gestures like looking up or breathing on the disciples present ( John 20:22) for the above reason are not mere gestures but the Son expressing appropriate emotional significance as True and Faithful witness. He witnessed Truth before men and angels.
Spirit of humility marked his gestures. Apart from heaven being above he lifted his eyes up acknowledging by such a single gesture his lowliness. Blessings come from the greater on the lesser applied equally to him. When people would want to make him their king he slipped away from their hold.
He conducted himself as a witness before the Word though was the Word become flesh. In all these neither his gesture nor conduct would lift him in a spirit of pride. He could boldly say, the prince of this world comes and he has no hold over me. ( John 14:30)
Coming back to the Lamb who stood in the midst of the throne refers to 'as it had been slain' and we have the symbolism of the Son; the Word became flesh and he is the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. ( John 1:29) The seven horns refer to the power which is complete so the throne of the Lamb covers the church who made a covenant by sacrifice. (Ps.50:5)
"And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God."(4:5). Unity of the Spirit is one while the lightings and thunderings assign God the primacy of the Law. The body is represented by the four beasts and the four and twenty elders. Body Spirit Soul form the trinity. In the creation account God expresses his will, "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."(Ge.1:27) Where shall we place those who refuse to do the will of God? They have despised the grace of the Son which are the seven eyes, the seven Spirits of God sent into all the earth. "But grace and truth came by Jesus Christ."( John 1:17) Wisdom has built her house so Jesus could assure, In my Father's house are many mansions, ....I go to prepare a place for you."( John 14:2)
The Holy Spirit in organizing the God document gives us spiritual truths from the standpoint of God a Spirit and from the 'only begotten' Son. Fellowship of God is with Man and the latter is no ordinary man but the Word which was in the beginning with God. As John would refer to it," which is in the bosom of the Father"(1:18) we shall come to it anon.
The Spirit sets before us Truth in terms of the Father and from that of the Son. It is this Logos aspect whereby whosoever believes in the Son shall have the Father as well. Whoever has seen the Son has seen the Father as well.( John 14:9). "Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son./ Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father."(1 John2:22-23)
Note that the above mentioned quote,-John14:9, it was Jesus of Nazareth who declared it, ie in his humanity. John in his Gospel introduces The Word which is the Law, is Sovereign so we see him as "the Man is the Message". As the Son was in the beginning with God every one of us having received Jesus Christ as our personal Savior was with him from the beginning: Jesus Christ the same yesterday , today and forever.(He.13:8)
It is thus we need study our position. This is graphically set before us in the inaugural vision of Jesus Christ. We are presented with the composite picture of Jesus Christ and the Ancient of days. There is nothing to indicate nail marks of crucifixion other than this:"I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore." No more he dies and having perfected with one sacrifice the Word is now in its judgement aspect. "and out of his mouth went a sharp two-edged sword." (Re.1:16-18) The Spirit is annotating the truth: The Word, the Father and the Son are one. "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:"(Is.55:11a) This word points to what ' things which shall be hereafter.' This is what we find in Re.19:13-15
Spencer, this seems like an unusual response from you about my post on the 10 commandments.
>It has never been anything close to an argument whether killing, stealing, adultery, ect was a sin or not on this site, and you know that.
"and you know that"?
What an unusual comment from you. Surely you're not pretending to know my thoughts that only God knows?
I stand by what I wrote and God knows your heart and motives for every word you say. It's a fact that Christians often try to justify sin through clever little cherry picking of verses and this occurs on this site. There was someone just recently who wrote it's impossible for Christians to sin and that our actions don't matter. This is a false teaching. It's unusual that you claimed "never been anything close to an argument..." because that's obviously untrue.
I'm not sure whether you haven't read some of these threads on this or just generally denying it. Christians sinning was such a big deal that's why Jesus warned His followers so much about it over and over, including through parables. If it wasn't such a big deal, Jesus wouldn't have repeated this over and over. John 8:11 "go, and sin no more" etc.
Hebrews 10:26 "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,"
The truth needs to be shared on this forum, because there is a lot of misinformation and lies often repeated. Satan loves deceiving Christians and getting them to do his work. I feel led by the spirit to warn Christians, because people are ignoring Jesus's words and time is running out. John 14:15 Most people in the US call themselves "Christian" but Jesus says most people will go to hell. Jesus will help go after his true followers (sheep), but He doesn't go after wolves to "save" them, and He doesn't go after wolves in sheep's clothing. Matthew 7:13-21
Well David0921, as in all things biblical, the student of the Word must come to his own conclusions, yet knowing that not everything can be known or correctly understood. You've stated your interpretation of that Luke 16 account using the principles that have no doubt served you well through the years. I too have studied the Word, & in this instance, Jesus' use of parables, their structure, their message, & the need for His interpretation of them (at least to His disciples, when asked) is essential to my examination.
This account of Lazarus in Hades, to my reading, stands out as one totally different to the rest of Jesus' parables. In fact, I would even place it in the same category as John 14:2,3. I hope we believe that Jesus was truthfully speaking of "mansions" or 'rooms' in His Father's House. Or, maybe He wasn't & just wanting to comfort & assure His disciples that they wouldn't be forgotten at His appearing. Now I can hear some saying that there's no such thing as "mansions" in Heaven & this message to them was simply figurative. Should we believe this account & not the other? Or, maybe reject both? What would make one account truthful & the other not? Individual perceptions are very strong based on a variety of factors that bear upon us, even when we read from the same Bible. GBU.
You said oudeis could mean no man, but a better meaning or translation is no one,
If we applied the Greek meaning of the word oudeis as you say it would read; " No man or no one in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.
It doesn't change anything!
The emphasis is where John looked.
If it means nobody was in heaven then you would have to say nobody was on earth and nobody was under the earth as well.
So where is everybody?
John looked in the three places where men are present.
If they are only on earth and under the earth, John should have left heaven out all together.
I'm convinced where Jesus will be we will be with him also. John 14:3.
To believe as you do you would have to be very deceived to completely ignore tons of bible scripture regarding God's commandments.
1 John 2:4 "He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him
Matthew 5:19 "Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven."
1 John 3:24 "And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us."
Jesus knows who really loves Him. John 14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments."
Jesus kept His Father Commandments, and if we are REAL Christ Followers, we will pick up our cross and follow Christ including doing what He did - and follow God's Commandments.
Lastly, here is Jesus telling us that we need to follow God's Commandments is we wish to have eternal life. Revelation 22:14"Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city."
So, you are basically telling others on this site to ignore Jesus and God, and much of the bible scripture!
A much discuss & debate subject on this site, Obedience, that's require in both Testaments
OT, in & of man's own ability. Which Saul continually fail to do, in this case waiting upon Samuel .
NT, the Spirit of Grace ability in mankind, its in man, but not of man, but of God. Grace will teaches & empowers man to will & do of His good pleasure, if believed in, God works by faith, that works by love
Father, through Your tender mercies
grant all of us a greater love for You
that we would pick up our cross & be followers of Your Son. John 14:31
There is no earn salvation, in being obedient to God commands.
Obedient does show our love for Him, according to Scrip
Believing, loving & obedience go hand in hand, it's the proof of having one of the other, aligns us with the whole of Scripture to all those who walk in the faith of Abraham James 2:18-24
Titus 3:5
States to those who believe, there are works of righteousness to be done, that all may see & glorify our Father who is in heaven. Matt 5:16
Yet, it's not by these works that we are being saved, but by His Mercy, Who causes us by His Spirit influence upon our hearts to will & do of His good pleasure & His good pleasure is to love Him, become obedient, which shows itself forth as these works of righteousness.
1Pet 1:22 Seeing ye have purify your souls in obeying the Truth, states obedient purifies us by 1Pet 1:23 by hearing & becoming obedient to the incorruptible Word of God that lives & abides forever is how we become born again.
This is the working out of our salvation with fear & trembling, the sanctification of the Spirit unto obedience, stating the progressional work of "washing of regeneration & renewing in the Holy Spirit" bringing us unto obedience. & sprinkling of the Blood/Life of Jesus in our hearts that cleanses & purges out not only the sin, but the evil one from our heart, who influence us to sin.
Folks, the very essence of the Salvation is obedience, & one must learn obedience, eventually bringing us to become holy, blameless, unreproachable & acceptable in His Sight. Col 1:22
Hebrews 5:9 states there must be obedience to be born again, & Jesus becomes the Author of their eternal salvation
Again, it's only by His merciful loving kindness that we are empower to these works of righteousness, which conforms us into the Image of the Obedient One. Rom 8:29 Who always did those things that pleases the Father John 8:29John 14:31
He's our Example, lets pick up the cross & follow Jesus, His Spirit Rom 8:2
There are many deceived people, and false teachers out there saying you don't have to follow God's Commandment's.
John 14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments."
Those that do not keep God's Commandments do not love Jesus/God.
1 John 3:24 "And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us."
Here the scripture tells us plainly the if someone say they know God but don't keep the commandments are a liar.
1 John 2:4 "He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
Lastly, Jesus tells us in the scripture below: those that do not keep the commandments - do not have right to the tree of life, and can not enter in though the gates of the city - Eternal Life!
Revelation 22:14"Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city."
There is much more scripture regarding keeping Gods Commandments throughout the bible. Do not take anyones word regarding your salvation. Please read the scriptures and pray to God for His truth. God reveals all truth in scriptures like above regarding following His commandments and all things related to receiving your salvation.
when one rejects Light/Truth no matter what stage of growth one attain too,
they began to wither, darkness covers the eyes of one understanding & the ear become dull of hearing. Their love becomes cold
One's knowledge becomes tainted, their faith feign & if continue in becomes vain.
The thing about deception is, one doesn't know when one has or is being deceived.
Satan uses all his power, in signs & lying wonders with all deceivableness of unrighteous to deceive &
By the way all you who's knowledge is by the letter & book learning, being persuaded that your in the Spirit, your deceived. Only the Spirit can interpret the Scriptures for they are spiritually discerned. & any spirit that tells you otherwise is the spirit of the antichrist. The word power there in 2 Thess 2:9 is the same word power that used in Act 1:8
Satan has No lack of power to deceive.
God in His great love for us gives us Light, that appears to all mankind, whereby we may come out of this deception
To love the Truth more than ourselves, it is a gift from God 2 Thess 2:10 by receiving a love for the Truth. Fulfill the greatest commandment & the second likewise.
Don't allow Satan to cause God to send you strong delusions causing you believe a lie. Be still, become truthful with yourselves. I have, with the good, the bad & the very ugly in my past & God has rewarded me according to the simplicity & integrity of my heart towards Him & my fellow human being & is presently turning my once stony heart into a heart of flesh, enabling me to receive Him daily in everyday ordinary life experiences. Pick up the Cross, follow the Spirit as William Penn said, in the NT only the obedient eat the good of this land. John 14:15
Happy Sabbath Day!
In summary, Become obedient to God, Repent from sin, Fear God, Love God, read your bible and pray, and you will be doing well.
the Father had prepared another body for His Son to live & move & have His being in, & where Christ goes He brings His Father with Him, John 14:23
Folks,
this is the abundant life that Christ came to bring us, Life behind the veil, the Holy of Holies, there is no sin or sinning in His dwelling, which dwelling place is within our hearts.

We Christians: We have heard the message and have believed. Romans 10:17
1John 1:6 (unbelievers) They lie and do not live by the truth.
We Christians: We have already met the Truth and we walk by the Truth. John 14:6 2John 1:4
We Christians: God's word lives in us. 1Thes 2:13
Hope this helps.

"Coming short of the glory"
Now here it is 10:10 at night (pm)
Blesssings

GOD bless and be careful
Lev 26:15-21 God is speaking to His people, the history of the children of Israel full of this. 2 Chronicles 7:14 Jeremiah 3:22 Hosea 6:1,2

In Love & Truth

Golden Candlesticks
Ge.12:13-14
From The Face Of The Serpent
Agape
Mode of Signs or gestures. (1 of 2)
Power principle of God is complemented by Wisdom principle, which can be explained in the Father Son relationship in many ways.
"Worthy is the Lamb"
The Word (2 of 2)
The Holy Spirit in organizing the God document gives us spiritual truths from the standpoint of God a Spirit and from the 'only begotten' Son.
John 14:3.
God bless.
John 14:31
Amen!
Rom 8:29 Who always did those things that pleases the Father John 8:29 John 14:31
He's our Example, lets pick up the cross & follow Jesus, His Spirit Rom 8:2
in love & truth

John 14:15
In love & truth.
