The sons of God are angels .
  • Mishael on Galatians 6 - 5 years ago
These are the scriptures that refer to angels that were with Satan. Before Satan was removed from heaven: Satan's name had been Lucifer; angels that were with him were called sons of God. They were all thrown out. Where I don't know.

It's in the Bible. I knew I had read it.

    Job1:6; Job 2:1, Revelation 12:9 and 12:7

    2 Peter 2: 4-5 and Jude 1:6

Why would God destroy the earth with water unless something had happened at Eden. I'm not going to play a guessing game.

Job 2:1 View whole chapter See verse in context
Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.

Thomas Hills IV-- Job 1:1, 6-12 Job 2:1-6. Satan said he could have Job eating out of his hand turn him away from God. God told Satan to have a try but save his life. This was to show Satan how Job loved worshiped God. Job suffered but never lost faith in the lord. Satan lost. No old time tale--the bible is true correct.

If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. Luke 14:26

In all of he troubles job remains faithly, never cursing god
  • Sandy on Job 2 - 6 years ago
In the face of it all Job worshipped! He knew that his Redeemer lived, I am so glad that the Bible clearly teaches that this is NOT the only life and we too can stand in our faith thru the trials that come to us until we see our Lord in His Kingdom. Blessed be the Name of the Lord!!

    James Bible mark 8:36
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

    Matthew 16:24
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me

    Matthew 16:25
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it

Verse 11~These three companions of Job had in mind to comfort Job, but instead when they arrived they discouraged him. If we have the objective of comforting others, we must choose our words carefully.
  • To Jeanie who went to the beach. on Job 2 - 7 years ago
Jeanie your testimony is so special to me. You are really one of God's children. You knew who to blame for your suffering. Though God allowed this to happen you passed the test with flying colors.

It's really sad how easily it is for the enemy to get us distracted from the Spirit's speaking to us through the Scriptures, by causing accusations and tempers to fly! Here is such a tremendously important Word of God; and the devil just has to rattle one or two up; and the blessing is gone! Please, Oh PLEASE, Brethren; try to care a little less about your precious feelings, and allow forgiveness!
  • A disciple on Job 2 - 7 years ago
Some say that it was the holy angels; assuming that this was something that was done in heaven. But WE are the children of God especially who are born from above Believers in Jesus, and originally made to be His children. So when we come to present ourselves before the LORD in our worship and prayers and Bible study; this scenario likewise appears: as the devil comes to slander, Jesus intercedes.

In 2012 I went to the beach 2 years after the bp spill. I got sores all over my body. Being a diabetic my foot got seriously bad. But all through that I never ince blamed God. I knew who to blame. In January 2015 to April 2016 I had 6 major surgeries. It was because of God i got through it all. It reminded me of Job. Faith gets you through it. God is love. Satan is pain.

Word,Cain was"turned aside after Satan"as in 1Tim. 5:15, and Job 2:6. John 8:44 (Cain)"Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do"God calls the devil a murderer(so was Cain)Cain did not abide in truth(John14:6),Satan is a liar and the father of lies. What scripture were you thinking of when you said "Satan had Cain" 1Tim.1:4- God's instructions are"don't heed fables"

Irene 123,Surprised?You are surprised at something you yourself wrote"It's very depressing" "in a negative way".These are your words,in addition to your question. You made a judgment and you are unable to accept it.As you said"it is as I intended".
No confusion,if there is judgment I can determine it's justification. You assume I look for judgement, and my walk is like yours, you assume much.
  • Irene123 on Job 2 - 8 years ago
LU2677- I was surprised you took my comment as negative; I simply asked a question; there was no judgment in it. There is so much judgment on here that I think maybe we are 'expecting it - when there is none; and that's not good in our Christian walk. I re-read my message, and there was no judgment in it. I th'ot maybe I hadn't said it right, but it's as I intended it. I'm sorry for the confusion.

Irene 123,I did not quote Job 7:3 with a bad motive or in the context of my physical situation. My post was answering how long Job suffered his affliction, asked earlier by someone. You judged it as "negative".You judge God's word as "depressing." Do you always give the outcome of every verse you quote?Almost impossible to do with the limit of letters we are allowed here.Your post is negative.
  • Irene123 on Job 2 - 8 years ago
LU2677 - are you in great physical/emotional pain? Otherwise why would you quote Job 7:3? It's very depressing if you don't bring out Job's end in all of this .....; we shouldn't use the word of God in a negative way.
  • Lu2677 on Job 2 - 8 years ago
Job 7:3 "So, I am made to possess months of vanity and wearisome nights." Job said.
  • Funke on Job 2 - 8 years ago
Job's life teaches us how to be fruitful, when you take a stand in what u believe in the midst of challenges, his spouse even condemned him but Job took a stand and the devil don't like that! Job was rewarded for his faithfulness for he became exceedingly Fruitful.
  • Irene123 on Job 2 - 8 years ago
I need to correct a statement I made to someone on here - about how long Job was in this situation. I told them to go to Job 2:13, that Job' friends sat with him for a week without speaking. I didn't notice the "without speaking". I assumed the whole episode lasted just a week. One has to be very careful in reading God's word.

To Stephen Woehr - very well said. I am just now recovering from influenza/pneumonia and bladder infection as of Dec. 13. I was in hosp. for 7 days. I knew the Lord knew all about it before it even happened; that He was in CONTROL. My husband is a wonderful man, do anything for anyone; just has no use for God ( self-made, etc.). I asked the Lord to do whatever; this was His answer.

Job to me remains a star. A lot of lessons can be derived from his rough experience; personal LOVE for God,patience and individual judgment etc
