Discuss Job 1 Page 8

Dear Titus I forgot one point. If God can write the 10 commandments than how come he couldn't write the Bible. Don't you think it strange and bitter to allow so many souls to be lost over that 1500 years when he could have written in every language and distributed bible after bible maybe even signed and just get it done? Why hasn't anyone asked this question?
  • Thomas Hills - In Reply on Job 1 - 6 years ago
Wonderful? Do you truly believe that you would be fine with God if he killed your children just to win a wager with the Devil? Oh, that's right, he replaced them later with different children. I guess that makes everything all right. A truly "Loving God" would never play this game with Satan.
  • Thomas Hills IV - In Reply on Job 1 - 6 years ago
You are absolutely correct. It took 1500 years and 40 authors to write the bible, most of which was stories told, not in writing. So, are we to believe "Litterally" James or other versions of the bible word for word? Fables, parables, folk lore or poems all written to put fear in the hearts of uncivilized, barbaric, ignorant and simple minded people. Do you really think God was that inhumane?
  • Titus N. G. - In Reply on Job 1 - 6 years ago
Nowhere in God's word is this account stated as a folk story. All of the books refer to the events as literal happenings. By discrediting the hardships of Job you are also discrediting James 5:10-11.

Bravo, couldn't agree with you more. This is a story of evil doings. One bordering on a sadistic and depraved mind. How can anyone who believes in God believe this?
  • John Boggs on Job 1 - 6 years ago
Ultimately, the Book of Job is not primarily about the suffering of man but about the greater sovereignty of God in the midst of man's suffering.

In this book of Job we also see commitment, character, trust, what you can gain in true worship. Job understood that material possession have no place in his heart his mind set was all Jesus don't matter challenges he faced.

Okay, I have one question, who did J.C pray too as he was about to die on that cross? That my friend, is the True and Living Creator, the Almighty and the Only One Worthy to receive Glory and Praises, He NEVER DIED, and His pedigree can be found in the Old Testament, starting in Genesis 1:1- HALLELUYAH- OH His Name is Yahweh!

See here the envious devil as he blasphemes the Holy Ghost and GOD, who created all things by Jesus Christ: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, All things were created by him, and for him: Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

jesus, is not the Creator of the World, there fore, you will be judged by the One who Created, jesus- the one he prayed to as he was dying, asking why have You Yahweh the True LIVING Creator forsaken me cursed it the man that hanged from a tree

due to the bible being translated into several languages, and the use of different vowels or lack of, we have a disconnect from the native language of the bible, it was all translated from the Hebrew language, in Hebrew there are no J, so how could the Creator's name begin with the letter, J. The purest form is Y, like YHWH! we use Yah as a way of saying it, even little babies from birth cry Yah

God stated that Job was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eshewed evil.
Satan said, But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.

    Satan is an accuser.
He is the Father of lies.

God told the truth about Job.

There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil. I noticed his kids and wife are not like Job. Job's Character shows he loves God above his family and earthly possessions.

This particular verse is just one of the many quoted but misunderstood verses that's often used to justify misdeeds. Throughout the bible's pages, many men were deemed righteous such as Job 1:6. In the New Testament we have in the book of Luke 1:5-6 Zachariah and Elizabeth were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

This has always disturbed me. What is the reason to make a man suffer so much, and kill so many? What does God gain from this, besides proving a point to Satan? I understand God gives Job more than what he had back, but I don't think it's worth the suffering. I would rather live in a nice house and be happy than live in a nicer house with PTSD and depression because everyone/thing I loved is gone.

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock

In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

This is what a strong house looks like.

    Job chapter 1 verse 21.

This is such a wonderful verse which clearly demonstrates the temporal state of this world, but the eternal state of our own souls and indeed the urgent need of our individual requirement to be saved before it is too late. What a wonderful demonstration of Jobs faith in God and even in despair he Blesses The LORD.

@Lucy. satan has had access to Heaven (see Job 1:6-7) and he has access now, accusing us before God day and night (see Rev. 12:10). But during the tribulation, he and his kind are kicked out of Heaven and sent to earth (see Rev 12:9). The tribulation will not only have the wrath of God, but also the wrath of the devil ( Rev 12:12).
