No wonder Isaiah is named the 5th evangelist after Matthew, Mark, Luke and John! It 's like he lived during Jesus time in this world and has been an eye witness to everything . This is my favorite chapter too.
  • Robert Simpson on Isaiah 53 - 12 years ago
Isaiah 53 is to me one of the most pivotal chapters in all of the Bible. Verses 4 6 especially constitutes the fulcrum upon which the whole Bible is balanced. For in these verses we have the judgement of God and the mercy of God all resting on the righteous servant the prophesied Messiah Jesus Christ. They both describe man 's rebellion against God 's love, and yet God 's ultimate capacity to forgive despite our callous, mindless, and heartless behavior. It is obvious that we all go our own way and do our own thing. It is obvious that we all commit iniquities. Those who deny this are only fooling themselves. And yet, the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53 6 is a stunning verse. There is no way anyone who reads it can continue reading on with out pausing first to reflect on the present and eternal implications of that one verse.

verse 6. All we like sheep have gone astray we have turned every one to his own way and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. i show that Gods love know no bound even in my sinfulness God still cares for me.

There was a time in my life that I thought God was almost cruel to have treated His Son that way Untill I got right with God and found out that Jesus bore my sicknesses and carried my pain Jesus is my spotless sinless Lamb in the Old Testament brought to the New Testament I didn t appreciate what He did at one time I do now and from time to time when I want to satisfy my own desires instead of my Lord s desire for my life I count him stricken and smitten Did what I wanted to do I praise God for what He did for me I am very grateful that He forgives Cleanses and washes me from all sin

The healing is for the soul and spirit As he healed from the best after His resurrection He made it possible for all that believed in Him would be saved from from the bondage of sin that we could live to righiousness through gratitude Also the hesling provided forgiveness which ushered out guilt and dhame Phyical healing He is not obligated to perform But He will do it if He s will

  • Christians Discipleship on Hebrews 13:8 - 12 years ago
That is to say,Jesus Christ is our Eternal Lord and God and Saviour. His essence,Power and Authority remain the same even before the beginning of all things, both those in Heaven and on earth and beneath the earth or the sea.Though all things shall pass but He is Everlasting God. He is known as the Mighty God and Everlasting Father( Isaiah 9:6),meaning He ever existed and created all things in His power ( John 1:1-3, Colossians 1:16). He is the Sustainer of all things ( Colossians 1:17),without Him nothing will exist ,including dark spirits. He is the Saviour of the world(Redeemer). He is the only Loving God who laid His life down to save all men from the death penalty of their sins when everybody had gone astray( Isaiah 53:4-6)-Behold,the Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world! ( John 1:29). He is the Supreme Judge for all humans( Matthew 25:31-46),and the Sovereign Lord Who is to come and reward the good deeds of men,and punish men for their wickedness( Revelation 22:12-13).
  • Rhonda on Isaiah 53:5 - 12 years ago
Thank you Lord ! In hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, Promised before the ages began.
  • Ted Grant on Isaiah 53 - 12 years ago
Bits of this chapter were used by the New Testament writers when composing their stories. They had been told the Old Testament predicted the coming King and so they searched the Holy Books for anything, no matter how weak, that would fit. It's not predicting, it's composing. Besides, verse 7 says "he opened not his mouth". That doesn't fit, so we'll ignore it?
