    book of Hebrews make me to understand the faith and the work of apostles.
  • Owolabi on Hebrews 1 - 12 years ago
    God is a speaking God. He is always looking for us to relate and communicate. This is out of his innate love for his creatures

    He spoke to us through Christ. in jesus we have a revelation of the divine. in Christ words, action and personality while on earth he was actually teaching and showing us what the divine nature looks like.
  • DELE DANIEL on John 1 - 12 years ago
    According John 1:1-3, Jesus was never an angel. He had been with God the father even before the heavens and earth were created. Moreover none of the angels can say: "I and my Father are one." John 10:30, Hebrews 1:5, 13.
  • Idowu Isaiah A on Hebrews 1 - 12 years ago
    If I want to say the truth, the issue of making heaven at the end of our race here on earth is more than by prayer alone, but by forsaking ALL and coming to the throne of mercy, Romans 9:15-18. May you and I be there in Jesus’ name.
  • Gary S Smith on Hebrews 1 - 12 years ago
    This chapter is emphasizing the majesty of Christ by showing he is greater than the angels. God did not say of the angels, "This day have I begotten thee." God is also showing the majesty of Christ to be greater than the prophets, "but in these last days has spoken unto us by his Son." In Chapter 3 God is showing the majesty of Christ to be greater than Moses.

    @Anthony,
    One more thing; I would suggest you read the baptism of the Eunuch by Philip, in Acts 8:26-38, and see his reaction after the baptism. That’s the joy the Holy Spirit brings when we accept Christ.

    Comments on Hebrew Chapter 1
    @ Anthony,
    It is a pleasure to go to this website and read the comments other people have regarding certain texts and topics from the Bible! But not too often I get amused by some commentators, and even rarer you get to read two sermons one right after the other, on the same theme. It’s a mystery how they got printed… In your case, I would venture to say that you and brother “D” are both going to the same church: perhaps as lay member, and pastor. Anthony, after you read “Big John’s” sermon on “Trinity” you write: “Every1 speaks of the Trinity. I've never, ever read the word Trinity n the Bible. Please some1 help me find the verse that states, Trinity or Holy Trinity n bible. Thanks.”
    Now, since you are using this website, I don’t believe you’ll have much trouble typing the word “trinity” in the “search” window, then press “enter”, and you’ll get the following “statement”: “... Sorry, we have no direct matches for your keyword at this time”. On the right side though, you will find the following entries:
    Related Bible Terms:
    Trinity
    Related Bible Verse Topics:
    The Holy Trinity
    The Trinity
    Trinity
    Click on “The Holy Trinity”, and you will be blessed with about one hundred “Bible Verses About The Holy Trinity”. Read them faithfully and prayerfully, and you’ll find plenty of proof about Trinity: God The Father, God The Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Forget about anybody else is saying on the subject. Brother “D” just needed “a platform” to talk about speaking in tongues. Unfortunately, his comments on that subject are so wrong. The first sign that you received the Holy Spirit IS NOT BABBLING, but a strong conviction that you are a sinner in need of a Redeemer, which is Jesus Christ, our God and Creator. This conviction will drive you to baptism with water: a symbol of death and resurrection with Christ, and the beginning of a new life in Him, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Agape

    In Hebrews 1, it is not a matter of who God is? I was reading a comment by my fellow friend, I think he is confused to my side that Jesus Christ rules the world. And God shows himself that he is the Lord. That's why He manifests himself to us Christians in many ways.

    I'm trying to understand the bible.
  • Ikechukwu Frank Erasmus Mbila. on Hebrews 1 - 12 years ago
    Hebrews 1:14 shows that angels are ministering spirits sent to those that are heir of salvation. What a truth to behold that means I am backed up by heaven security. It shows that as many that have confessed the lordship of Jesus Christ are heirs of salvation and that means am full of God’s power and ability. Hebrews 1 also shows the authority of Jesus Christ in Heaven and here on earth.
  • Shirley kay on Hebrews 1 - 12 years ago
    I think, like any scripture, one must want to know the truth. Remember, this is the Last Will and Testimony" of Our Lord, Jesus Christ. You must first want to be an heir and then you will know the Truth and the Truth will set you free.
  • Samuel Thomas on John 5 - 12 years ago
    @Shailin's John,
    Matthew 28:19 speaks clearly of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. However if you read this carefully, you will see that Three have just one name. It says "baptizing them into the name (not names) of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit". There are three with one name. This is the Triune God. In the Father we have seen unseen God. In the Son is God revealed, made manifest, and brought nigh; He is the form of God. In the Spirit of God we have the indwelling God. Undoubtedly the Father is God in various places in New Testament speaks of God the Father. The Son is also God Hebrews 1:8. The Spirit is God Acts 5:3,4. Isaiah 9:6 has the term Everlasting Father. Oneness and Trinity doctrine does not belong to Roman Catholics. It is the fundamental truth of the Holy Scriptures. Praise The Lord.
  • 'Bola Aremu on Psalms 91:11 - 12 years ago
    For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. Angels are spirit beings created by God. So Psalms 91:11 is simply saying God has given his angels charge over us to see to our well being. So wherever we are and in all situations we need to be conscious that we are not alone, his angels are always there but we can't see them. Because Hebrews 1:7 tells us that they are spirit. Hebrews 12:22 and Revelation 5:11 also tell us that the angels of God are numerable, which means that God has more than enough angels assigned to everybody. No doubt, God gives more than one angel charge over us. Psalms 103:20 and 2 Kings 19:35 tell us that angels are strong, we have no reason to be afraid of anything, I mean anything!
  • Sandra gatula on Hebrews 1 - 12 years ago
    God is telling us who he is and that we ought to worship him and letting us know that we do not worship angels.
  • Ogbonna on Hebrews 1 - 12 years ago
    It's simply showing the simplicity of God and his love towards mankind and then the reason to acknowledge our source.
  • Ibnyakubu ibnhabiba on Hebrews 1 - 12 years ago
    Now, which one is GOD. God the father, God the son and God the holly spirit. That is trinity, where Jesus as God, when God created Adam and Eve.
  • Timothy Wayne George on Hebrews 1 - 12 years ago
    God became a man, so that by the grace of God, He could taste death for every man. God loves righteousness, and hates wickedness. We see Elohim at creation. God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. If you receive the witness of man, then the witness of God is greater. There is one mediator between God, and man. Jesus is that mediator, and He shed His blood, so that He could purge our sins. Receive the Son by faith, and you will be born again into the family of God. Jesus is the first born of creation, because he died on the cross, was buried, and rose the third day. He is coming again, to judge the living, and the dead. Receive Him now, and He will be your Savior. If not He will be your Judge.

  • André on Revelation 4 - 12 years ago
    @Carlos,
    The bible does not mention any life on any planet, except the earth.
    So any life that is not of the earth is from angels either of God or of Satan, as they are in their respective businesses with and for man ( Hebrews 1:14).
    God bless you.
  • M.KAMALANATHAN on Hebrews 1:9 - 12 years ago
    I think that God created the world in word according John 1:1 and again 1 john 5:7 says for there are three who bear witness in heaven the father, the word, and the holy spirit; and these three are one so that now we are seeing the Hebrews 1:8 Father and Son relationship only ....
  • Anonymous on Hebrews 1 - 12 years ago
    Living according to the word will bring many afflictions, tribulation and persecutions but his grace is sufficient.

    it appears to me that Hebrews1 was written to encorage the Jewish people who had beome Christan, not to go back, and to reaffrim that Chirst is God's son in whom God is well pleased with and to hear him, according to Luke 9:35 and to saty the course because in due season they will be rewarded. which also applies to us today to take up our corss and fight the good fight of faith which sometimes will be diffcult, but saty on course, so that in the end we will receive that MANSION ROBE AND a CROWN.

    If you stay away from wrong doing the Lord will always bring you happiness, more than the wrong do'ers which know right from wrong in still choose wrong..God's extra gift shines upon you as an example.
  • Robert on Hebrews 1:13 - 12 years ago
    Here again GOd him self gives his son a place by his side, the word is true and there is no where one can dispute that this sets the fact that Jesus Christ is his son, NOT GOD. clearly any one can see that there is but one GOD and ONE Christ JESUS.
  • Robert on Hebrews 1 - 12 years ago
