L.D. what i think Abraham is saying is, Abraham and Sarah have the same father meaning God. Abraham sees Sarah as a daughter of God. although there are many times people done mistakes and wasn't part of Gods plan. So, they could still be half brother and sister.

I've read chapter 20 couple of times and there's a of verses that open my, there were a group at my place and we were talking about brother who would married their sisters. verse 12, Abraham said indeed she is the daughter of my father but not the daughter of my mother. Am a little confuse on verse 12, Question, Can a man marry a girl that is his sister from his mother's side but not sister by?

Verse 6~Adultery is considered a sin against God. Jehovah God here warned Abimelech before he committed a grave sin.

"And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What sawest thou, that thou hast done this thing?And Abraham said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will slay me for my wife's sake." Therefore one more great reason for us to be "More ready to hear, than to give the answer of fools." We are to be perfect toward all as our Father in heaven, and let God look on the hearts.

"And God said unto him in a dream, Yea, I know that thou didst this in the integrity of thy heart; for I also withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore suffered I thee not to touch her." There is a difference between walking in darkness and ignorance of facts. Walking in darkness suggests an evil will against receiving the truth; but one can be good and walk in integrity although ignorant.

Once again Abraham sinned by trusting the flesh and lying about Sarah his wife to another man. It is a demonstration to us all that we tend to return to the sinful ways of the flesh that are familiar and not trust the God that has proved Himself in these areas in the past.

It seems that Abraham was using his wife's beauty to get through difficult situations but God had a plan for Sarah's life to fulfill His promise to Abraham and therefore protected her.

Cain wife was one of his sisters. Genesis 5:4 says ; Adam beget sons and daughters. Abraham confess to Sarah been his sister (same father,different mother) and his wife in Genesis 20:11-12. This was permitted before the law. It was stopped by the law(Leviticus 18th and 20th chapters)that came through Moses . Also Jacob was permitted to marry two sisters which was also discontinued by the law.

It was not about the age of Sarah it was about God power how he preserved Sarah beauty also God withheld Abimelech from sinning against God

Gina, Genesis 20:12 tells us that Sarah was Abraham's half sister. She was Abraham's daughter but not the daughter of Abraham's mother.

Verse 6 "for I also withheld thee from sinning against Me" Is it possible that adultery is a direct sin against God? If I think about it, it probably is because our bodies are God's temple. Oh, we can only but thank God for being so merciful with us.

how old was Sarah and Abimelech wanted to be with her? IF she was old then God made her look ageless, youon? He preserved her beauty he could do the same for all of us

God is full of mercy He refused To Let Abimelech To fall into sin spoke To him before he touched Sarah though she and Abraham were ignorant enough in so much that the lied out of fear because there was lack of faith but God showed up faithful

Jehovah is revealing how every thing he created he has the ability to control it according to his will and purpose

it pays off to be God 's servant child, Abimelech took only the wife of Abraham but Abraham did not get only his wife back but the livestock also.And also God saw it fit to address Abraham as Prophet.You will never meet God and remains the same.

Am Confused About this Genesis 20 12 13

I just found out it was before the law ,this is the way of life at that time,then the ten commandments came with the time of moses which brought awareness of how much sin was needed to be forgiven.

I am bit confused also at all the adultery and yes the sleeping with the father and bearing children from him..

I am also confused about the adultry in this book, sleeping with your own father, maid etc. Was this acceptable?

What Lot's daughters did was wrong and was not allowed in any way. Their sin produced the fathers of two evil nations, the Moabites and the Ammonites.

I think genesis is a wonderful book, its image links the reader, in which a way, for as to understand the nature of god. it is like looking at god in a painting ,allowing you to step back to be amazed by wonder and love at the same time.
