Thank you for the reply. That's interesting how two people can read the same verse and come up with different meanings.
So, I'm trying to find verses that say we're immediately saved the moment we decide to follow Jesus (before we're even judged).
Based on what I'm looking for you wrote the following:
" John 5:24. actually says exactly that along with a accumulation of scripture when discerning them properly."
But I read John 5:24 and it doesn't say anything about the timing of being saved. It does not say immediately or anything about "when" this happens and its not even implied as some assume. But if you keep reading at John 5:28-29 it adds a condition by saying after Jesus speaks and dead are raised that "they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation."
Some readers imply a sense of timing when reading something even though unstated. I do not believe the Bible implies timing if it is not specifically stated. I will share evidence why:
"But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." Genesis 2:17 KJV
Adam and Eve ate the fruit and did not die immediately, but later. Their death in the form of mortality likely started when they ate this, but they did not physically die until many years later. Some claim they had a spiritual death, but that is not stated.
Another example is: "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." Genesis 1:27 KJV
Some assume this means God already created females, but then in chapter 2 it says how Adam fell asleep and Eve was created. This is an example of how assuming timing when it is not stated is not correct. What this really is is a brief summary overview then chapter 2 goes into more detail about how it happened.
Likewise, John 5:24 doesn't say we're saved immediately.
- A Creature of God
Genesis 1:27
"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."
-Performance Issues
i.Low resistance to temptation
Genesis 3:13
"And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, the serpent beguiled me, and I did eat."
ii.High level of corruption
Genesis 6:12
"And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth."
Puzzle
I light of these issues, what is the meaning of "in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."?
Gailee Question: does the Bible say that there is Woman Angels?
You are MountHoreb replying to a comment by "Gailee":
Angels are Spirits ( John 4:24) in Heaven Jesus explains at Matthew 22:29,30.
if you read about a women in heaven like Revelation 12:1,2 This is symbolic or illustrating the point revelation 1:1.
However, Angels can materialize into a human. or turn themselves into human flesh. we have an
example of the bad Angels who forsook their assigned positions in heaven to have sex with the beautiful woman
on earth. they "took wives" for themselves. according to Genesis 6 these angels are called "Sons of God" because they were created in heaven. Although Angels are either male nor female. descending to earth, angels have this ability. again these are angels who went evil or bad. who went against Jehovah ( Psalm 83:18) like Satan the serpent! Matthew 4:1-11; Ephesians
A few examples of Good Angels who had a earthly assignment: Genesis 18 and 19 Chapters.
"Three Men" are materialized good angels. in verse 19 the angels in Sodom struck the mob of boys and old men
who wanted to have sex or lie down with them. so which means these mob of males saw these angels as Males.
There is no scripture that shows that that angels ever materialized into females. for the simple fact that Adam was created first as the Male. Eve was a helper to him, created so he will not be alone. Genesis 1:26; Genesis 2:18; Genesis 5:1,2; Ephesians 5:23; 1 Timothy 2:13,14. However, women on earth are valuable to God also: Acts 2:17
so the overall point here is, No there is no woman in heaven, nor men, nor children. for they are
all angels in heaven as JESUS SAID.
I HOPE These scriptures help. Thanks.
Genesis 3:19; Genesis 6:3, violance or destroyed by the flood ( Genesis 6:5-7,11-13;17). Only Noah his wife, Shem, Ham, and Japheth their 3 wives survived. that means only eight people survived out of Adams and eve's children and grand children.
The point! not all of Noah's children listened to God. They followed Satan the devil and his lies Genesis 3. when you read about the Canaanites ( Genesis 13:7; Leviticus 18:1-5) this bad nation came through Ham descendance ( Genesis 10:6). or Ammorites, some Noah's descendance created a nation by their family name Genesis 11. When Jehovah ( psalm 83:18) confused their language they all spread out and became nations of people like you see today.
to the point: Abraham was a righteous man who lived in Canaan. but one of God's angels told him to leave Canaan then became a father to a nation of Israel ( Genesis 17:1-8). God name Jacob Israel ( Genesis 32:28). this is how a Nation of Isreal came about. Canaan land later became Jerusalem belonging to Israel the Jews.
However, Israel repeatedly sinned by worshiping other gods. even Solomon the last king worshiped false Gods ( Nehemiah 13:23-27) Jesus turned to the Gentiles which means nation who will believe ( John 3:16,17).
However, their are some Israelites who did believe, but most rejected Jesus.- Acts 1:6-8; Matthew 24:14; 2 Timothy 3:13-17
It's a lot of info. but I hope the bible answered your question HOW A NATION BECAME A INDEPENDANT NATION
Such concepts also come up in terms of a "gap theory" to explain what appears to be an older universe and an original chaotic one in Genesis 1:2 after the initial mention in Genesis 1:1. There is this; and many other interesting concepts. We do see a universal story of a flood in the Gilgamesh epic; for instance as well as stories of an original creator; and imagery in the original Chinese lanaguage; for instance for the Biblical story. Same thing for the giants; what some say is legend is pretty universal; explaining Genesis 6 and related passages with the sons of god (fallen angels) and their offspring.
When we look to the future; I find the easiest way to explain "global warming" is that the glaciers were part of the flood and collateral damage; the earth is going back to its original state in some way. It appears that the earth and heavens are remade when the elements break down and are recreated in the original language in Peter's epistle. Even death isn't understood; or gravity; or decay (2nd law of Thermodynamics). May we trust God to reveal things in His time; as the wisdom of the world is foolishness to God; hidden to the wicked and revealed to His children.
And I saw your other post, about you leaving on your short holiday to Arizona. Have a safe & lovely time with your friend - I'm sure you would have wanted to have a longer time away. We have friends in Bullhead City, just across from the Nevada border - and we spent some time with them a while ago, before Covid struck, traveling together in that great State. My prayers are with you & your dear husband left on his own. And what a great opportunity you had to minister to that couple who missed their bus - may the Lord take them further in their journey in life, experiencing what great things God can do for them & in them. Blessings.
The foundation of man and creatures' existence is in Genesis chapters one and two. We are not called to be cafeteria Christians where we can pick and choose what we want to believe is true.
It is helpful to go back to the Creation story to see God's original plan and design for man; and the results of the fall. In this segment I will look at the enemy of our souls ( 1 Peter 5:8). Lucifer's fall is covered in Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28. When we see that narrative play out we see where sin actually originated and the cause was mainly pride. That blossomed of course to violence and other things ( Ezekiel 28:16) which I would briefly propose was an angelic society which may have started in heaven and perhaps led to a judgment between Genesis 1:1 and 1;2 sometimes called the "gap theory". For our purposes we will summarize that there had to be some time for the angels to be drawn to follow Lucifer; as well as to some time after all the angels sang to God's glory at creation before he fell ( Job 38:7-9).
Lucifer was much like man; in the sense that he was created to worship and adore the Lord; made flawless and beautiful and in innocence there was nothing wrong about that. He was a Cherub ( Ezekiel 28:14); therefore at an elevated status much like Adam and Eve were given authority to rule and reign over the rest of Creation in a unique role and status.
The serpent was used by the enemy to deceive through appealing to man's hidden knowledge that could somehow elevate his status and bring them something more than God intended as the real thrust of the temptation. A lack of TRUST in God is where the real issue is; and that of the heart of man which Jeremiah 17:9 makes it clear is desperately wicked. Therefore; what God made had the potential to become corrupted and wicked; in the same token one who is saved is made to glorify God and destined to become as Paul stated a "celestial body" ( 1 Corinthians 15:40). There is a resurrection for all men; but one to eternal soul damnation for the wicked ( John 5:29). The wicked cannot enter the Kingdom of God ( Rev. 21:27).
Were you born in 1939, if so your just a little older than myself? I'm a 40's child.
Yes, darkness was over the land from 6th to the 9th hour.
This literally was reality; and is still reality, that darkness has manifest itself even till NOW.
Christ is the LIFE of ALL MEN; though most are in darkness, they don't believe the HOUSE (our body) was made desolate by the death of Christ.
All mankind was made desolate: by his death; dwelling in darkness, and he AROSE, as the DAY STAR, and shined LIGHT (his WORD) into DARKNESS, and the darkness comprehended it NOT.
Creation HAPPEN a second time at Christ resurrection.
Genesis 1:2 And the earth (symbolic of man) was without form or void; and DARKNESS was on the face of the DEEP (symbolic of man).
Genesis 1:4 And God saw the light (Christ is the light of the world), that is was good: and God DIVIDED the LIGHT from DARKNESS.
Genesis 1:5 And God called the LIGHT DAY, and the DARKNESS NIGHT, and the evening and the morning (of his resurrection) were the FIRST DAY.
Psalms 104:30 Thou sendest forth thy SPIRIT (that spirit RAISED the new creation), THEY ARE CREATED, thou renewest the face of the earth.
1 Thessalonians 5:5 Ye are children of the LIGHT (Christ in you), and the children of DAY: we are not (children) of the NIGHT, nor of DARKNESS.
God Bless YOU!
When Job had finished asking the same questions you are asking, do you know how the LORD began His answer to Job? "Who is this that darkeneth counsel BY WORDS WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE?"
- Job 38:2
And again, "Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? He that reproveth God, let him answer it."
- Job 40:2
Do you know what Job realized after the LORD was done? " . . . Therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not."
- Job 42:3
To your question, there will be no greater than what the Scriptures have given in the book of Job.
I suggest you read the entire book of Job.
Rev. 21:5 And He that sat upon the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new."
I won't be until the return of Jesus on the Last Day that we will receive our full redemption. We will be made new again through the resurrection or translation of our bodies. When that happens, we will never again know sorrow, pain, affliction, persecution, anguish. Jesus will destroy the heavens and the earth and make new heavens and a new earth.
In John 16:33 Jesus says, " In this world ye shall have tribulation: But be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."
Jesus said that this life will be full of troubles. Some due to sin and the corruption of this world: hardships, diseases, etc. And others due to persecution and sufferings because we believe in Jesus and belong to Him.
We can know that the sufferings we experience in this life are intended to perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle us in the one true faith that is in Jesus. 1 Peter 5 10
1 Peter 4:12-16 speaks of the our attitude in suffering and trials. We should not be surprised when it happens, rather rejoice and glorify God in our trials.
Asafo, this life is a fallen life. it is marked by our own sinful nature and that of every other person. The world is corrupted because of man's sin. Therefore, God allows things to happen in the lives of Christians to test us and build us up to be able to stand firm under trial and tribulation. One day we may have to face death for our faith in Jesus. We can see our temporary sufferings at the present preparing us to stand in the last days, if we live to be in that time of great Tribulation and apostasy that will come before Christ returns for us ( 2 Thessalonians 2)
But we look forward to the inheritance of eternal life and the full redemption of our body, soul, and spirit in the day of the Lord Jesus.
When He comes to receive us to Him, He will then bring the wrath of God upon the wicked and the corrupted earth. Believers will be not suffer this wrath.
I don't think I'll rewrite my previous answers to this, but in summary, by what standard do we assume that dying is bad and suffering is bad?
Everyone on earth dies. Everyone on earth has discomfort and suffering on some level. The implied goal of these questions seem to ignore the afterlife and the goal of serving God. So, what is the priority, short term pleasure or serving God? The question also assumes God's priority is for our comfort. I don't think so. It may have been until the original sin, but if you read in Genesis the creation was cursed to specifically create discomfort. So why assume that God being good would somehow remove the punishment and curse?
If God is good and all-knowing ,then why is there much suffering in the world and what's God doing or done about it to curb the pending situation
Supporting you argument with tangible bible scriptures
Deuteronomy 12:15
Check out how God instructed Noah after the flood in Genesis 9. the Israelites were commanded to consume a lamb on the night of the Passover before they fled Egypt. God instructed them to drain the blood of animals they eat in the cove4nant at Sinai. He also gave them quail to eat in the wilderness in addition to manna. AS far as the fellowship offering in Leviticus, they were to consume the meat with the priests within the tabernacle.
These are just a few examples. Do you have concordance? You can search in there under meat to find more Scriptural references.
Throughout time, we can see how we have been slowly conditioned coming to this point where we are on the verge of a cashless society. Did you know that the Bible foretold of this event almost 2,000 years ago?
In the book of Revelation 13:16-18, it states,
"He (the false prophet who deceives many by his miracles-- Revelation 19:20) causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666."
Referring to the last generation, this could only be speaking of a cashless society. Why so? Revelation 13:17 tells us that we cannot buy or sell unless we receive the mark of the beast. If physical money was still in use, we could buy or sell with one another without receiving the mark. This would contradict scripture that states we need the mark to buy or sell!
These verses could not be referring to something purely spiritual as scripture references two physical locations (our right hand or forehead) stating the mark will be on one "OR" the other. If this mark was purely spiritual, it would indicate both places, or one--not one OR the other!
This is where it really starts to come together. It is amazing how accurate the Bible is concerning the implantable RFID microchip. Here is information from someone named Carl Sanders who worked with a team of engineers to help develop this RFID chip:
"Carl Sanders sat in seventeen New World Order meetings with heads-of-state officials such as Henry Kissinger and Bob Gates of the C.I.A. to discuss plans on how to bring about this one-world system. The government commissioned Carl Sanders to design a microchip for identifying an
That is not what I said and certainly not what I meant. God is infinite and the Bible reveals only the character and nature of God that He chooses to reveal to us. Our finite minds could never begin to understand every aspect of the character and nature of God.
But God identifies Himself totally with the Word of God, and the Bible with God Himself. As the Bible declares in John 1.
John 1:1-5
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
John 1:14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
So can there be any doubt whatsoever that the Bible has ONE AUTHOR, and that is God Himself.
The point I am making is that we MUST come to the Bible recognizing that the Bible ALONE and in its ENTIRETY is GOD'S WORD. Not merely a collection of books ABOUT God's Word by many authors, or merely CONTAINING God's Word. But it is, in fact, THE WORD OF GOD Himself, that God has given us, form Genesis 1:1 through Revelation 22:21.
This is not a small or insignificant matter. It is FUNDAMENTAL to understanding what God is teaching as we read and study the Bible.
"If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."
