Discuss Genesis 12 Page 7

Abram was wrestling with doubt in what God had told him. The Lord had told him he was going to bless him and make him a blessing. That He was going to multiply him through his seed. He had lost faith in the Word of God, because of tribulation through the famine. When God gives us a word, we have to hold on and believe; no matter what comes.

GOD is very much concern about husband and wife, and when a man and a woman is married they become one, and we must respect that union, the only union god desired to be, and is respectd by Him, because children can only come from a man and women

I like this chapter.

THUS, THIS IS THE POWER OF GOD YES! ALSO, WE ALSO FIND REPENTANCE, TURN AWAY, LEAVE KINDRED, RELATIVES, TO THE PLACE WHERE I WILL SHOW THEE, OBEDIENCE, LOVE, SACRIFICE, THE WORD OF GOD JESUSCHRIST AS THE ANGEL, AND THE SERVANT OF GOD, THE POWER OF GOD, THE ELOHIM, THE ALMIGHTY GOD, ELSHADDI, THE WORKS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD, GOD, ( GENESIS 12:1, GOD SPOKE TO ABRAM, 12:7, GOD APPEARED TO ABRAM, AND SAID, UNTI THY SEED/DESCENDANTS WILL I GIVE.... ( GENESIS 12:1, GOD SPOKE TO US/ME/YOU, AND SAID, GET THEE/YOU OUT OF THY COUNTRY(ALSO, ACTS 7:2-3), FROM THY KINDRED/RELATIVES, AND FROM THY fathers house/or UNDER HIS UMBRELLA....
GOD HAS PLANS FOR YOU! PLANS OF GOOD AND NOT OF EVIL( ISAIAH 29:11). GOD ALSO WANTS TO BE OUR FATHER( MATTHEW 23:9, JOHN 14:7-11, THROUGH JESUSCHRIST, GOD HEALS, PROVIDES, DELIVERS, AND SHOWS HIS LOVE!!
WHEN GOD CAME IN THE NAME OF JESUSCHRIST HE SEPARATED HIMSELF FROM EVERY FALSE god, THAT CLAIM TO BE GOD, BUT IN WORKS, YOU SEE THEY ARE NOT GOD WHO YOU CAN FIND THROUGH JESUSCHRIST, THIS IS THE TRUE GOD AND ETERNAL LIFE( 1 JOHN 5:20)!
" GENESIS 13:16, FOR ALL THE LAND WHICH THOU/YOU SEEST, TO THEE WILL I GIVE IT(ALSO, ACTS 7:5), AND TO THY/YOUR SEED/DESCENDANTS FOREVER(ALSO, 2 CHRONICLES 20:7, EXODUS 6:7, VERSE 6, AND I WILL RID YOU OUT THEIR BONDAGE/SLAVERY, VERSE 7, AND I WILL TAKE YOU TO ME FOR A PEOPLE, AND I WILL BE TO YOU A GOD, AND YEYOU SHALL KNOW THAT I AM THE LORD YOUR GOD! WHICH BRING YOU OUT FROM THE BURDENS/TROUBLES OF THE EGYPTIANS....
THE PROMISES TO OUR forefathers, GOD SENT THEM TO US AND NO MAN TOUCH IT, BUT DECEIVE PEOPLE WITH OTHER COPIES OR VERSIONS!
LIKE THE DEVIL COULD NOT TOUCH JOB(IN CHAPTER 1), SO CAN HE NOT TOUCH THE WORD OF GOD!!! THOSE WHO SAY SO ARE DEMONS, THAT CAN NEVER LIVE THE WORD OF GOD!!
MAY GOD POUR OUT HIS TRUTHS UPON HIS CREATION NOW, THROUGH JESUSCHRIST, AMEN.

Abram did not really lie Sarai was his half sister. But when God makes a covenant between a man and woman it shall not be broken. Abram trusted in his fleshly thoughts and not in God but because God's grace rests upon him doing this season. He was granted back his wife and prospered greatly as they departed. God is a God of blessings and will keep us as we journey in the directions his leads us into.

There was no wrong-doing in the lie about being siblings. He did what he did out of love for her and she lied for her love for him. You may not believe this, but women are supposed to be submissive to their man when they walk in the light of God. She did nothing wrong and neither did he.

Here it appears that God initiates a covenant with mankind. Through Abram, either God's blessing or His curses will be delivered. Even today this relationship remains through Jesus, the Christ.

This is to K Clark\'s comment: We are possibly looking at hundreds of years between Chapter 7 and Chapter 12 when Abraham went into Egypt. The Egyptians didn\'t stay gone, but their empire is nothing today compared to what it was then, their empire was completely destroyed, to where they will never rule over a people in that way again.

Where did Pharaoh and the Egyptians come from? Back in Chapter 7, they were all wiped away, and there seems to be an extensive geneology in Chs 8 to 11, so where did all these Egyptians, including a Pharaoh!!!, and advanced society suddenly arise from???????

It just shows that even when we do wrong, if we repent we can be blessed by God even though blessings are not deserved. Faith and submission is our goal. We fail in this too often...

Abram is counted righteous for his faith in God. He left his father's house who were serving idols. God promised him I will bless those that bless thee, and curse those that curse thee. All the families of the earth would be blessed through Abram. True the bible does not hide the faults of it's great men of faith, and when Abram tells his wife to tell Pharoah she is his sister this was not the will of God. It was a half truth, but God taught Abram from this mistake that he must totally trust God to accomplish his will in his life. We too must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior. We must trust in the Lord with all our heart, and lean not to our own understanding. In all our ways we are to acknowledge him, and he will direct our path. The just shall live by faith. God will never lead us where his grace cannot keep us.

Itshow us that even when we done trust God He still got our back

To think that his wife to be so fair that he would be killed so that Pharaoh would have her for himself is most conceited of Abram.
But to have his wife lie was wrong as well and perhaps the results were just.
All and all Abram was wrong on more than one level.

Who do u think was in charge. Gods powerful and His plan and His blessing.

First, Abraham showed fear (even doubting GODS WORD) and He told his wife to lie (even though it was a half truth), He told her to lie so he would not be killed. He should have know if GOD gave his word to him, HE would fulfill it.
