    Hi Bridget,

Just to give a little reply to your comment. Do you believe we are still under the Old Covenant?

If you believe we are to live by every word in the Bible, Old Testament also, this would mean to still be sacrificing animals for your sins? Or stoning people and putting them to death for certain things? Maybe circumcising of the foreskin of the flesh?

Maybe you mean this is only about the Sabbath being on "saturday"? The Ten Commandments. I really see no problem with that. If people want to keep the "saturday" Sabbath great. Lots of unbelieving Jews, of Jesus Christ, do also. Who stay away from the New Testament.

We are under a New Covenant. This does not mean throw away the Old Testament. There is still much wisdom in the Old Testament. Though if you ONLY read the Old Testament you will have a vail over you as in 2 Corinthians 3:11-16. I very much enjoy reading the Old Testament. Though having the Spirit of Christ to guide me I can feel what is good and still applicable and things that are done away with say in the laws in the Torah. As nine out of the Ten Commandments are in the New Testament and many of the Mitzvot laws are still moral and good. Though now we in Christ are to be led by the Spirit, by grace, not every word of the law. We have God's law on our hearts. Which in one word is Love. Turn from evil and do good. Psalms 37:27, 1 Peter 3:11.

Let us stay focused on following Christ with a pure heart. Be Holy 1 Peter 1:16.

Like I've sated in a post before. I strive to keep every day Holy not just one a week. Always retaining God in my thoughts and living for Him not myself. Romans 6:11-14.

Just like you stated Trust God and He will not lead you astray. Proverbs 3:5-6.

Praise God He hath sent us His Son as His free gift of Salvation. The only way to the Father is through the Son. Jesus Christ our Lord.

God Bless and have a wonderful day.

I was a Sunday keeper once so I am familiar with all of these excuses.

To cut to the chase I should ask that I be provided with one bible text that calls Sunday the Sabbath. Just 1.

Really, it is a matter of one's relationship to Christ. God is so wise he anticipated all of these reasons not to do as he commanded (not suggested).

    John 14:15

If ye love me, keep my commandments.

    1John 2:3

And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

    1 John 2:4

He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

You see the Sabbath is one of the commandments.

Lots of people call themselves Christian but they do not meet the above criteria. God knew it.

    Matthew7:21-23

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name...

    Matthew 4:4

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Does it say by the New Testament only??

There is safety in sticking to what is written in God's word.

Truth can bear examination my mother taught me.

Remember that God is omniscient. We are not smarter than He is.

Trust God he will not lead you astray. Forget your opinion or my opinion and lean not to your understanding,

I am busy, in the mean time I will refer you to Amazing Facts by Doug Batchelor where these questions are addressed and TV station 3ABN.

When I am available I will come back to this discussion but please accept above in the mean time.

When God told Noah to build an ark and it rained for 40 days and nights to flood the world, God made a rainbow to show Noah his promise not to flood the world again. My question is was that rainbow truly the first rainbow to ever be seen? If so, how is that possible when science can explain why there are rainbows? Did that science not exists at that time until God invented it?

    Hi Bridget,

There is no need to reply to this comment. As I would like you see your replies to brothers Michael and Earl's comments to your post.

I just wanted to address your comment on "no wonder the world is in mass confusion". I will just say that it is not, in my insight, just because people are not keeping "Saturday" Sabbath days. Which as Earl stated would be a lot of stuff we are no longer commanded to do anymore. To me the world falling into the state we're in, and I don't see it getting better, is mainly of how ungodly people have become. Which is a lot of stuff that I'm not going to try to fit in this post.

Which is just a very simple statement from me. Only God knows everything about everything. Keep your faith and trust in our Lord Jesus Christ. As you stated Malachi 3:6 in that God doesn't change. Like Hebrews 13:8.

    God Bless.

Moab at that time was located on the east of the Dead Sea. Moab was the son of the illicit union of Lot & his eldest daughter ( Genesis 19:30-38). The Moabites, as with the others inhabiting the land of Canaan, were those that Israel would eventually have to war with, to conquer & capture their lands, as promised by God. So the Moabites were already known by Moses, & Moses with the children of Israel, sang this song ( Exodus 15) remembering their flight from the tyranny of Pharaoh & the future dread by the inhabitants in Canaan as the Lord their God went before them. So the reputation of the "mighty (strong, fierce) men of Moab" would have been known to Moses but they went on in their march towards the promised land, knowing the Lord was with them.

    Hello Bridget,

    Thank you for your comments.

You quoted Exodus 20:10 to say that we must observe the sabbath. However, you quoted from the Old Testament given to the ancient nation of Israel. Could you provide me a verse from the New Testament which commands the Church to keep the Sabbath? If not, why not? Why would the Apostles never instruct or remind the Christian Church to keep the sabbath if it was that important?

You also quoted Malachi 2:6 that God never changes. But, then why did God change the law of circumcision? The Old Testament said you must be circumcised - a commandment of God at Leviticus 12:3. But, in the New Testament, we are told that circumcision is not necessary. See Galatians 5:2. Also, why does Hebrews 7:12 say the the priesthood was changed? I thought you said that God never changes. In the Old Testament, the priesthood was Levitical but in the New Testament, the priesthood is according to the order of Mechizedek - another change of God. See Hebrews 7:11.

The Apostle Paul, at Galatians 4:10, scolds the Galatians for keeping the Old Testament rituals. The brackets are mine.

    Galatians 4:10

"Ye observe (sabbath) days, and (lunar) months, and (festivals) times, and (sabbatical) years."

No wonder the Apostle Paul asks the question at:

Galatians 4:21 "Tell me, ye that desire to be under the (Mosaic Old Testament) law, do ye not hear the law?"

Colossians 2:16 "Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:"

    I welcome your comments, Bridget.

    Good day.

God, my Bible, says the seventh day is the Sabbath. Exodus 20:10.

Saturday, or the seventh day in the weekly cycle, is the only day in all of scripture designated using the term Sabbath.

Constantine did think he changed the Sabbath. Daniel 7:25 ... .and think to change times and laws. Because he thought doesn't mean he changed it. On March 7, 321, however, Roman Emperor Constantine I issued a civil decree making Sunday a day of rest from labor, stating: All judges and city people and the craftsmen shall rest upon the venerable day of the sun.

In Malachi 3:6, God says I am God I change not. Did God change the Sabbath? You admit that Constantine changed the Sabbath or thinks he did because so many people follow his supposed change.

Acts 5:29 in my bible says we ought to obey God rather than man, this includes Constantine, kings, presidents, emperors, popes, etc.

God who is omniscient, gave the days numbers which are constant. Sabbath is the seventh day in over 100 languages.

No wonder the world is in mass confusion. A four year old can count from one to seven. Its not rocket science. Look at your standard every day calendar, Start with the first day count seven.

My prayer is that we all come to unity on God's word, Not on my or your opinion.

I am praying that all will believe the wisest mind in the universe GOD, JESUS Christ, THE HOLY GHOST.

Will be praying for you all.

  • When is Sabbath - In Reply on Exodus 15 - 4 years ago
When religious leaders accused JESUS of breaking the Sabbath because his disciples plucked some grain and ate it as they walked through a field, he said: "The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath" ( Mark 2:27-28)

Constantine (Roman) set Sabbath on Sunday.

Jewish tradition, Sabbath begins at sundown on Friday, and is attended on Saturday.

My advise: Google this and read all the opinions. My choice is what Jesus said above.
  • Dawn - In Reply on Exodus 15 - 4 years ago
The sabbath falls according to the moon cycles (gods time)

The moon cycles four times a month.

Sometimes sabbath day is on Sunday, sometimes on Saturday, occasionally Friday

There's a way to see all versions at a glance: Google a scripture (chapter:verse) and hit search. Google will display that verse in all major versions of the Bible.

Teenagers might enjoy the NIV or New King James Bible.

The Living Bible is paraphrased so it's more like reading a story.

Most serious students of the Bible prefer the King James Version because it has less diversion from the original languages.

For studying try a KJV Reference Bible. I prefer those that have the reference notes in center of each page columns.

This website has a super fast SEARCH BOX. Say like you want to look up all verses in the Bible about "CAUGHT UP IN THE CLOUDS", or as others say Rapture, the search engine will fetch all of those verses. You can pare down the list by clicking Old Testament or just the New Testament.

You can sort the verses in Bible order

If you want to read Commentary on your verse, touch or click the verse; it will highlight yellow. Scroll down till you see your Commentary.

    Hope this helps.

Hello, I recently "graduated" to the kjv from the niv and it's like reading God's Word again for the first time! My question is basically from my wife who asked me, " so are the other versions wrong?" While I did my own research and found that there are omissions in other versions compared to the kjv, which I have found to be enlightening, I'm unable to come to up with an answer that would suffice. Any thoughts?

  • S Spencer The right hand of God - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 4 years ago
    Hi Paul,

I think it's misleading when we think of God as having a presence like us. In those verses you place Jesus sitting beside God and there you have the son sitting beside the Father. But I don't think that's what those verses is saying. Here's an example.

Psalms 16:8.I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

Now do you vision God sitting down beside David ? are is David referring to him as the power in which he shall not be moved?

Here's another example of him being the power.

Luke 22:69. Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.

The right hand/power is an attribute in which he performs within the God head. Here's some examples.

Exodus 15:6. Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.

Isaiah 41:10. Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Romans 8:34. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Isaiah 48:13. Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.

This is just a few of many verses in which you see

He makes intercession from his right hand.

He makes us righteousness from his right hand.

His power is his right hand.

He judges from the right hand.

And as Isaiah 48:13 says along with the volume of the book

He created the world with his right hand.

So those verses proves He's God!! That why in Revelation 1:8 he's called the Almighty!!

Revelation 1:8 (KJV) I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

I was an astrologer until 1985. I asked God to wipe my brain's hard drive and toss the pins, after a supernatural salvation and deliverance from ALL occult things. Satan tried to get rid of me many times.

One day someone (who didn't know me) asked me what it meant to have a Leo sun sign. I thought really hard for a definition and my mind was blank. It's not in my head anymore and I give the Lord all of my praise and Worship for doing a miracle.

Later I asked the Lord to remove names and faces of people who would trouble my sleep. I do not remember things of my past that cause pain.

Pray and ask yourself if you really need to remember those things?
  • Adam - In Reply on Proverbs 20 - 4 years ago
    Hi Tobias,

The Old Testament was the first writing about God and that book was written in Hebrew, which was the language of the Israelites and Jewish. If I write what God's name in another language it then wouldn't be in English anymore. Also, Hebrew uses different Hebrew characters so its not even possible to write that here and if it was, could you even read it? You can use the parallel view on this site to compare Hebrew to English though. So, it's my opinion that people often get fixated on what the actual names are in 'original' languages, however, my point of view is that we don't speak the original language, but English and it's already translated and correct. God is called God. He is also called Lord. Exodus 15:3. The pronunciation of Lord in English aside from the already-correct 'Lord' with hybrid characters is something like Yahweh, or YHWH, and Jehovah. Isaiah 12:2. Elohim = God in Hebrew.

Please remember that the sons of God have come for the pulling down of this world's 'Strongholds', religion being the strongest of them all ( 2 Cor. 10:4; Luke 11:21-23).

When it comes to the Medical Profession, please know that the believers live by faith, as the true and living God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob is their guide in all things. Remember how God took care of a host of 2m people for forty years. He fed them and provided them with water and other essentials. Even their shoes and garments didn't wear out. Also remember that out of the original group that crossed the Red Sea only Joshua & Caleb crossed the Jordan River. All the rest died in the wilderness, while only the new generation crossed the Jordan.

Rather than speaking from personal experience, we believe that the most effective way to be taught and to come to the understanding of 'The Chastening of the Lord' is by the Word of God itself

I am amazed how there are so few opportunities being used to follow Gods requests in Deuteronomy Chapter 6 : 6/9 which emphersize that we must teach the Laws and Commandments to our children. I understand only a few people specifically obey this command from God and I am most disappointed about mankind's failure to obey this Law. I wish our children could be blessed with this teaching in every country so they can make an informed choice before they DO any thing WRONG in the sight of God.

    Please do yourself a favor!

    ( 2 Timothy 2:15)

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

Do your best to learn Biblical Hebrew (and Chaldean) and Greek; other languages don't matter (concerning Scripture).

Acquire for yourself Biblical aids; such as Bible Concordances, Bible Dictionaries, Bible Commentaries, Etymological Dictionaries, Lexicons, Dead Sea Scrolls, etc., to assist in your Biblical journey.

Pray to your heavenly Father daily that what you pass on as Biblical truth is correct.
