1 John 2:3-5: speaks of keeping Jesus' Commandments, not specifically the Ten Commandments (there is a clear difference between them). Psalm 119: the Laws, Precepts, Judgements, etc. given to Israel; not to those in Christ Jesus.

"How do I determine what is sin and what is not?" The Holy Spirit Who resides in my life instructs me in all things I need to know or be alerted to: of ALL of God's Laws, of where I slip up, of things just not quite right that can be regarded as sin ( John 16:13; 1 Corinthians 6:19; Ephesians 4:30). The Decalogue in & of itself falls far short of what God would require of me. In other words, I would rather be subservient & obedient to the Spirit than to the Letter of the Law. And when I fail Him, I am gently instructed & helped to learn & follow His Path.

"So when we say that the Decalogue, the 10 Commandments, are not for us today", I certainly don't mean the Truth contained therein, including all other Laws, whether Israel or Gentile-specific, but I refer to the purpose of the Decalogue, as a whole package of Laws for Israel that demanded obedience or punishment (including obedience to the 4th Commandment).

This type of Law has no bearing on those now IN CHRIST, who have been delivered from that Law of sin & death ( Romans 7:6; Romans 8:2). If there was no Holy Spirit to indwell the believer, then yes, we must grab onto & perform all the laws we can find in God's Word & hope for the best in the Judgement. But the believer's salvation is secure because it is all of God (His Great Plan), all of Jesus (His Great Sacrifice) and of His Spirit (His Great Ministry), Who will 'present us faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy'. My obedience & confidence rests only in the Person of the Godhead, enjoying the liberty of serving Him as He directs & not conforming to a set of rules that was prescribed to judgement & death.

To everyone that has been following this conversation

In Chris last point, he has a solid reasoning concerning the Scriptures that we now possess.

Yet, none of the translations are 100% accurate, one says the meaning is this, & another says no, its this.

Ephesians 4:5; & He's the John 1;1; is Christ divided? Look back in history & take note how much blood was shed because of this division of the Word. Is this not turning Christ words against His works. The Lord is One.

    Reading over the whole of our conversation, the intent I purpose to reveal was not the discrediting of the Scriptures, but that they are spiritually discerned. That man un-regenerated heart Jeremiah 17:9, would shun the cross & choose another method than ordain of God to know him. & lets keep in mind that the Scriptures are only 2Timothy 3:16; the Strong's Complete Exhausted Concordance, etc; is not! Though ever so skillfully endeavored. Man has turn this note worthy endeavor into a replacement of Him. The promise is that God will teach His people Himself, Isa 54:13; the results; we come to know Him, a personal intimate fellowship; 1John 1:1-3; This has been God's heart desire from the beginning & only by coming in the Way that He has provided will make this a reality, along with all His other promises. We must look to His Spirit John 16:13, Zechariah 4:6;

    In love & truth

The great work of regeneration & renewing, picking up the Cross, the Power of God unto salvation, the dying daily, Gal 2:20; Paul knew John 8:32;. You quoted Philippians 3:12 read further :15 the word for mature is also translated "perfect" in the NKJV. (& by the way, I DON'T advocate anyone to the studying of the letter by natural arts of Hebrew/Greek etc; the different language begin at Babel, meaning confusion, & that's just what has happen, there' over 45,000 different sect's of Christianity worldwide, each proclaiming "here is Christ," When Christianity was first birth & brought forth by His Spirit, Act 4:32; Ephesians 4:5; is that the case today? Its more like Judges 21:25; God's words are Spirit & is only understood & possess by the Spirit which gave them forth. 2Cor 2:11,12; Gal 3:2 the Spirit is received by faith, which comes by hearing the Word of God in our heart, not the letter, for the letter kills, the Spirit alone gives us the very life of God, to be manifested in our mortal bodies, to the destroying ALL, ALL, ALL the works of the devil & conform us to Christ, Rom 8:39; Luke 6:40; The letter cannot do this, Scripture plainly points & instructs us in this, "he that hath ears to hear, let him hear what the Spirit has to say.) Sanctification "making holy" is on this side of the grave, the work of Titus 2:11,12 & its includes the whole man, spirit, soul & body. Titus 2:14 cleansing us from ALL iniquity, that we may Col 1:22. The faith y'all are promoting is 2 Timothy 3:5; Gal 5:8,9

The angel proclaimed Matt 1:21; His Name declares His works "He shall saved them from their sins, not in their sins"

There's much more that could be brought forth here; Rom 6 -8

The Spirit prayer in Ephesians 1:17-21 "not only in this world, but that which is to come" Thy Kingdom come, here on earth as it is in heaven.

hope all will seriously consider & weigh these words. 2 Cor 3:5,6

    Sister GiGi:

I am going to scold you a little, but purely in LOVE.

You say things; but I don't think, you believe what you say is relevant for us in the present.

You said; and what you said is true, WE, as BELIEVERS, have been (a completed work) DELIVERED from SIN and DEATH; yet you don't believe what you say, if we HAVE BEEN DELIVERED, then it's not the future, BUT NOW.

You said Adam and Eve were sinless; if they were sinless, they would not have sinned.

Romans 8:29 For the creature WAS MADE (not created) subject to VANITY .... all creation from Adam WAS MADE subject to vanity, just a little enticement and they SIN ....

The RESURRECTION CREATED man in the image of God, as in Adam (shadow of Christ) all men DIE, and all men are made ALIVE by the Spirit of resurrection; sin and death were DESTROYED, on the cross; ONLY CHRIST arose, and we AS JOINT HEIRS, the image of Christ, predestinated from the foundations of the world.

I am the FIRST (of creation, the work of the cross) and I am the LAST of creation; creation was RAISED as joint HEIRS.

Ephesians 4:4 .... one body (Christ) .... one Spirit ....

Ephesians 4:6 ..... one God ....and Father of all (including Christ) ...... above ALL .... through ALL .... IN YOU ALL ...

.... this mystery .... Christ in you ..... hid from the ages

    God bless you!

David DID NOT go to heaven when he physically died.

Acts 2:34 David IS NOT ASCENDED into the heavens .....

Acts 2:29 Men and Brethren, let me speak to you freely, the patriarch is DEAD and buried ....

John 3:13 No man hath ascended into heaven, but he which came down from heaven and is now in heaven.

    ALL MEN ARE DEAD

ONLY Christ arose; we are joint HEIRS, you don't exist OTHER than being the BODY CHRIST DWELLS IN.

A NEW CREATION, as the FATHER and SON are ONE, you are now ONE IN THEM.

This is the GOSPEL, the KINGDOM of GOD, Christ in you, sinful flesh DIED on the cross, ONLY Christ arose, a New creation arose.

1 Timothy 6:16 Christ ONLY has IMMORTALITY, dwelling in the light .... in the presence of God ......

This mortal shall put on IMMORTALITY ....

Hi Jimbob. You wrote well though if I could just highlight the 'apostasy' (apostasia), as seen in 2 Thessalonians 2:3, & consider what the Apostle Paul was speaking of here. I realize that it would be simple to understand his statement as applying to believers, before that day of Christ's coming, that some would apostatize by rejecting Christ going back into the world or to embrace another religion. But are we correct to believe that this was what Paul was speaking of in light of his other writings & that of our Lord? (refs. John 10:27-29; John 6:37; 2 Corinthians 1:22; Ephesians 1:13,14; Ephesians 4:30; Romans 8:28-30; Jude 1:24,25; 2 Corinthians 5:17; 2 Timothy 2:19).

When we look at the definition of 'apostasy', it is as you have given ("An abandonment of what one has professed, a total desertion, or departure from one's faith, a total abandonment of the Christian faith"). But 'apostasy' is not simply restricted to a 'total departure from one's faith' but also 'a total departure or abandonment of one's principles, party, cause' (and one could even add 'departure from the Word of God which lays out the principles and Truths of doctrine & righteous living').

Unfortunately, the 2 Thessalonians 2:2-5 passage is not explicit to show us how Paul was applying this 'apostasy'. Obviously, the Thessalonian believers probably knew much more than we have been given (v5 'remember...I told you these things?'). Clearly, this apostasy doesn't relate to principles or causes of the world, because its context shows that Paul is speaking of an apostasy that will affect believers in some way. The question then is: is it the rejection of Christ altogether, or a departure/rejection of the Truth of God's Word? But isn't that the same thing, one could ask? I think you will agree Jimbob, that this rejection of Truth & promotion of unbiblical interpretations & lifestyle, has been going on for a long time - from within the Church itself.

XXI. OF THE GRACE OF TITHING AND GIVING

I believe God's plan of finance for His Baptist Church's is to be tithes and offerings. Scriptural giving is one of the fundamentals of the faith. I believe that every Believer, as a steward of that portion of God's wealth entrusted to him or her, is obligated to support his or her Baptist Church financially. I believe that God has established the tithe as a basis of giving but that every Believer should also give other offerings sacrificially and cheerfully to the support of his or her Baptist Church for the relief of those in need, and the spread of the Gospel. I believe that Church members are commanded to bring their tithes and offerings into the Storehouse (Common Treasury) of their Baptist Church upon the first day of the week (Sunday). I believe that a Believer relinquishes all rights to direct the use of the tithe or offering once the gift has been made. I believe under grace we give, and do not pay, the tithe - "Abraham GAVE a tenth part of all." "Abraham GAVE the tenth part of the spoils," and this was four hundred years before the Law, and is confirmed in the New Testament, the Lord Jesus Himself said concerning the tithe, "... these ought ye to have done ..." ( Genesis 14:20; Leviticus 27:30; Proverbs 3:9, 10; Malachi 3:10; Matthew 23:23; Luke 11:42; Acts 4:34, 35, 37; 1 Corinthians 16:2; 2 Corinthians 8:7; 2 Corinthians 9:6, 7; Galatians 6:6; Ephesians 4:28; 1 Timothy 5:17, 18; Hebrews 7:2, 4; 1 John 3:17).

We are sealed by the Spirit.

    Ephesians 4:30.

    Here's the contrast to that.

Matthew 13:19-23. When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

    But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;

Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

The Holyspirit spirit reveals the truth of God and takes the truth and seal it.

    Also;

John 16:12-15. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Here in John 16:30-32 we have a picture of the disciples belief shattered after Jesus was crucified.

But after they were sealed they preached boldly!!

Look at their condition in Matthew 28:16-17.

    Ephesians 1:13.

    God bless.

    Hi Giannis.

    Thanks for your response.

I briefly went through your reply and will read it again when time permits.

It's late here on the east coast.

However we disagree on what I gathered so far.

I believe the purpose of John baptism was to turn the hearts of the people away from Judaism to Christ, not only by what he said but by the area and the audience he approached and by what his Father said.

Luke 1:67-69. "And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying,

Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,

    AND hath raised up an horn of salvation for "US" in the house of his servant David;

    Luke 1:80

And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts TILL THE DAY OF HIS SHEWING UNTO ISRAEL.

John came preaching in the wilderness of Judaea.

The religion in that area was Judaism. If publicans was in the that area they witnessed and was aware of the God of the Israelites. " John said prepare the way for the Lord.

They knew that was the God of the Jews.

And Mark 16:16 it says "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; BUT HE THAT BELIEVETH NOT SHALL BE DAMNED.

"It doesn't say he that is not baptized shall be damned"

If you were standing in the way of my view of something and I said; "Sit down and get out the way"

When you sit down you would have gotten out the way. "You would have accomplished both "

    That's the way I take Mark 16:16.

When they believed they were baptized.

It's the Baptism of the Holyspirit mentioned here, Not water. And If it was water baptism it's the believing or not believing that would make the difference here.

As for the creeds. One baptism for the forgiveness of sins.

    I believe that.

That's the baptism of the Holyspirit. The only baptism that can put you in the body of Christ.

    Ephesians 4:5-6.

    Good night.

We are not left to our own devices, nor to be buffeted about ( Ephesians 4:14b) "with every wind of doctrine" but we are lead every step of the way. However, to be truly successful and unmovable, we must be deeply intimate with our LORD GOD JESUS CHRIST through Scripture. Then take this knowledge and apply it in a Christ-like, Christ honoring, manner in our daily conversation and contact with whomsoever the LORD brings to us. 1 Peter 3:15

"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:"

There are too many people in today's society confused of their reason for being here, who they identify as, and where to go for help. May our testimony in the LORD JESUS CHRIST make a difference as we pray, 2 Timothy 2:1-3; and go forth to make disciples, Matthew 28: 18-20; but most important- our own personal growth in the LORD, 2 Peter 1, Titus 2:11-15. (many, many more)

GOD to shine HIS face on all on this forum and bless you gloriously to praise and serve HIM from this day forward.

    The Resurrection Day

John 10:18 shows us that Christ had the power to give up and take life back again. Starting at the statement at His death "it is finished" ( John 19:30) the atonement was complete at the same moment. The comment from the fellow prisoner (the one who repented) at the cross recieved a response just prior to that event where Christ assured him "today you shall be with me in paradise" ( Luke 23:43). This shows that sheol which at the time was the abode of all the dead (see state of Lazarus vs the rich man in the parable of Luke 16:19-31). Jesus came to set the captives free ( Ephesians 4:7-10) also alluded to in several other passages that could also refer to those captive in sin still on earth. He preached to the spirits in prison ( 1 Peter 3:19) which were either the demons or Nephilim and their offspring which were in the abyss before their time; or all the lost. Those who were His own were set free; their souls went to heaven and many appeared after His Resurrection ( Matt. 27:52-53). Thus; after this time only wicked in the torment part of hell still exist down there.

Christ; of course was the "first of the firstfruits" ( 1 Cor. 15:20). There will be the following afterwards; those who came out of their graves at that time as I stated above; then those at His appearing (i.e. Rapture); then those at His coming (2nd Coming). The firstfruits continue until the 144,000 which is a sort of gleaning of Israel ahead of the main harvest the countless multitude coming out of the Great Tribulation. ( Rev. 7:9).

What is most sobering is that Christ still bears marks on His body ( Luke 24:39); apparently the only one who is resurrected with such scars reminding us of his earthly suffering and existance. Hence; God did not allow His holy one to remain in sheol or see decay ( Psalm 16:10). He was the perfect; unblemished Lamb of God who we shall forever worship and adore.

    Agape; Happy Resurrection Sunday.

    DEUTERONOMY 6:4.

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:

    There's only one God.

    John 10:30.

    John 14:7-9.

If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

Jesus saith unto him, HAVE I BEEN SO LONG TIME WITH YOU, AND YET HAST THOU NOT KNOWN ME, PHILIP? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

    1 Corinthians 15:28.

And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, THAT GOD MAY BE ALL IN ALL.

This is after the Millennium reign, Then he will establish the eternal reign.

Then he will return to his place where he was in the beginning,

( back to the God head)

"That God may be all in all"

Who raised Christ from the dead?

    John 10:17-18.

    Romans 8:11.

    Act 13:30.

    Answer; The triune God. "Elohm".

If Jesus is the body of the Father but yet a separate God as one claims. That contradicts what is written in scripture.

    Ephesians 4:4-6.

    "There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all."

We're servants and worshipers of that one God. Now and for ever.

God will share his glory with no man.

    Isaiah 42:8.

Jesus himself says he has a God and has a Father.

Ephesians 4:6 ...and Father of ALL, even Jesus.

2 Corinthians 11:31 The GOD and Father of Jesus Christ .....

Ephesians 1:3 ...the GOD and Father of Jesus Christ ...

1 Peter 1:3 ...the God and Father of Jesus Christ ..

If Jesus has a God, and Jesus is a God, then there are 2 Gods, not 1.

There One because Christ is the BODY of HIS GOD.

If Jesus was the same God, as God, he wouldn't have to turn the kingdom back to the God who gave it to him.

Psalms 22:1 My God, MY God, why has thou forsaken me ...

Mark 15:34 .... My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me.

Was Christ crying out to himself.

Did not Christ, a God, have to be raise by the Spirit of God?

Christ himself said, I of myself can do nothing .....

The words are my Father's words

If he were the same God, as his God, he could speak his on words.

We have all been deceived, just like Revelation says, by mans teachings, and it's hard to repent from those teachings and believe what God says.

The father and the son is not "Gods"

The father and the son "is" God.

    Ephesians 4:6.

One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, AND IN YOU ALL.

God being in us refers to the Holyspirit. ( That doesn't make us God's.

Being one with God also doesn't make us God.

    There is one body, and one Spirit, EVEN AS YE ARE CALLED IN ONE HOPE of your calling;

    ( THAT'S HOW WE'RE ONE WITH GOD)

One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

    We're one with God.

    We're not Gods.

    Hi Jema.

You haven't offended me at all and you're right we are to learn from one another but not loose sight of Ephesians 4:5.

    There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

God gave us Christ and we are baptized into Christ.

We function as one body, Scripture tells us how we are expected to function in the body.

It's the working power of the Holyspirit that causes that oneness, We are to minister God's truth to a lost world.

He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad. Mathew 12:30.

However everyone in our midst is not of the body of Christ.

No one is perfect but there are some fundamental teachings that a babe in Christ would hold.

One is there's a heaven and hell.

There's consequences to one who denies Christ.

No one teaches it's ok to sin by the Spirit of God!!

And these heresies is important enough for him to change his name.

    That's where the fall began.

And the serpent said unto the woman, YE SHALL NOT SURELY DIE:

    "Earl teaches otherwise"

For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ( YE SHALL BE AS GODS,) knowing good and evil. Genesis 3:4-5.

Earl says we are going to be God's.

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Mathew 7:13-14

Knowing God vs knowing about Him: reflections on Good Friday

John 14:9 shows how Christ rather emphatically questions Philip as to his compression of God the Father when in the presence of His Son. This verse is by no means isolated where He states what seems to be obvious as to His inevitable death on the cross; as well as His divinity. Matthew 16:17 shows what seems to be an incredible swing in Peter's life from supernatural wisdom from the Spirit; to being influenced by Satan himself just a few verses later in Matthew 16:23 when Jesus says "get behind me Satan."

Mark 10:33 as well as an equivalent passage in Luke and others in Mark 9 make it clear that Jesus repeatedly explained His fate.

This should serve as a warning to us; along with of course Peter's prophesied betrayal and denial of Christ (which BTW also was what the other disciples did; without making such a bold proclamation of loyalty as Peter did).

The Pharisees; clearly should have known who Christ was; as well as those residents of Chorazin; Bethsaida and Capernium ( Matt. 11:21-22) whose judgments were to be greater than Sodom and Gomorrah who apparently would have repented seeing such things. This is; to say the least a sobering statement. Clearly apart from Divine Revelation we all are blinded.

Romans 5:7-8 shows how although someone may die for a righteous man; for wicked rebels as us who would want to do so?

But the Father from the beginning had some who would be called His own; and chosen (see John 6:37 and many other verses in John on the subject of Predestination also some of my segments on that subject in discussing John).

As the Spirit strives against the flesh ( Galatians 5:17); we realize that we don't love God in our old nature once the Spirit takes residence. We understand not only consequences of our sin; but that we don't want to grieve the Spirit ( Ephesians 4:30). It must be love which leads us to obedience ( John 14:15). Apart from grace our efforts are in vain.

Salvation by man, or salvation by God?

    (Part 4):

We also know from Scripture that no one can keep himself saved. John teaches, in 1 John 5:18 (as recorded in the oldest Greek manuscripts), "We know that everyone who has been born from God does not practice sin; but the one who has been born from God, God is keeping him and the evil one does not touch him."

John also states in John 10:27-29, "My sheep hear my voice and I know them; and they follow me. And I give to them eternal life; and they will never perish forever and not anyone will seize them from out of my hand. My Father who has given them to me is greater than all, and no one is able to seize them from out of the hand of my Father."

Jude states in his doxology in verse 24, "But to the one being able to keep you without stumbling and to set you before His glory blameless in exultation."

Paul in his writings emphasized the keeping power of God's Spirit in Ephesians 1:13-14: "In whom also after having heard the Word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, in whom also, after having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance, for redemption of the possession, for the praise of His glory."

He states again in Ephesians 4:30, "And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption." Probably one of the most powerful Scriptures of God's keeping power is Romans 8:38-39: "For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor powers, nor any thing which has come, nor things coming, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

The only way a person can be saved is by a spiritual birth from God; and the only way a person can keep his salvation is through the keeping power of God.

    Hey S Spencer,

I thought you were on vacation and was not looking for your response, hope ya'll had a good time. What do these verses mean to me? John 17:22-23, the first thing that I see is John 3:16, God's love. He sent His only begotten Son into this world to die for us so that we who are called believe. God's Word, the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God.

The will of the Father that sent His only begotten Son who did the will of the One who sent Him that we may know the only true God. John 17:1-3 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: 2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. 3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

The antichrist denies this. 1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

John 17:20-21 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; 21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

May we be as one, one body in love, all working together as Ephesians 4:11-16, and not as Ephesians 4:17-19. It starts with repentance, if one cannot see the need to repent, there is no hope of salvation.

    God bless,

(Sister) Thanks for sharing 2 Corinthians 5:17 .

Read Ephesians 4:32. When we truly are saved, we become a new creation in Christ. The old is passed away. We are forgiven. As Christians we are to be doers of the word. Jesus said in John 14:15, if you love me, keep my commandments.

    1John 2:4

    1John 4:20-21

    The Lord is my Shepherd.

I am lifting you all up in prayer today. Jesus Christ is coming soon. We are living in the last of the last days, and hell is a real place of torment. Eternal. I don't want to go there and I don't want you to go there.

    Matthew 10:28

    Matthew 13:50

    2Thessalonians 1:9

    Psalms 145:20

    Hebrews 10:26-31

So let Jesus work in your heart and life. No one can put Him there. You must see your need for Him and repent (stop sinning, stop hating, forgive, stop rejecting Christ) REPENT of YOUR own evil deeds, ask Jesus Christ for forgiveness.

    Matthew 6:14-15

He paid for our sin with His life's blood when He was crucified on the cross. His gift of forgiveness is free. Please accept it. Repent and be baptized in water and the Holy Spirit.

HE IS COMING BACK SOON. If YOU are not ready, the Bible says you will be eternally lost. I would not wish Hell on my worst enemy. No, on the contrary. I want to spend eternity loving and worshiping Jesus Christ together with them.

    ( Matthew 5:44)

May the Lord richly bless you today in Christ Jesus!

    Hi Jcolli9,

My understanding is like Adam's, just to add to what Adam said. You should study on your own, there are different views.

The belief that our soul is immortal comes from ancient Greek philosophy. The meaning of death, being a separation of the soul from the body also came from ancient Greek philosophy that is different than what we see in the Old Testament.

It is Platonism, Augustine of Hippo held this philosophy. He was a theologian, and philosopher with a strong influence on doctrines in the church, in the fourth and early fifth century.

Gen. 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. The spirit/breath gives us life.

The Hebrew word nephesh means a soul, living being, life, self, person, desire, passion, appetite, and emotion. The Greek word psuche means the soul, life, self, and a person's distinct identity. If you study them, it is also used for all living beings' fish, animals, birds, and man.

Physically we live AND die, eternally we live OR die, our choice of the gift of God that is through Jesus Christ our Lord, eternal life, or die the second death.

The word spirit, the Bible writers used the Hebrew word ruach meaning breath, wind, spirit, or the Greek word pneuma also meaning wind, breath, spirit, this life-giving breath/spirit is what goes back to God.

We are buried dead, mortal, in corruption and we are raised immortally incorruptible 1 Corinthians 15:42-44. That is when we will be absent from this flesh body.

All consciousness ends when we die. Psalm 6:5 Job 14:12-14 Job 17:13-16 Psalm 89:48 Psalm 115:17 Ecclesiastes 9:5-10

We sleep in death until resurrection day, the day of redemption. 1 Corinthians 15:51-54 Ephesians 4:30

Our spirit (breath) given to us by God is what keeps us alive, and we are a living soul. Ecclesiastes 12:7 Psalm 104:29 Psalm 146:4 James 2:26

    May this help your study.

    God bless,

    Adam:

There is ONLY of God, and FATHER of all other gods, his children.

Is not Christ a SON, a child of God the father.

If we died with Christ and were resurrected with Christ, then we are also SONS OF GOD, just like Christ, since Christ is a god, by inheritance we are a god.

Ephesians 4:6 .... ONE GOD ....and Father of ALL ... above ALL .... through ALL ....and IN YOU ALL .....

If God is IN ALL, then all are gods

Why is this so hard to believe, these are God's WORDS.

    God Bless YOU!

    One eighty:

Is Christ not a BODY of Flesh and Bone; and the SPIRIT of his Father the LIFE of HIS BODY, the results of HIS resurrection BY the Spirit of HIS Father?

He was resurrected BACK to what he was from the BEGINNING, he LAID DOWN that GLORY he had with the Father, to become sinful flesh and destroy the WORKS of the Devil.

Christ ascended into the CLOUDS as a MAN, but, he was back to being GLORIFIED, so he was ONCE: OMNIPRESENT.

He can reside IN MAN as TRUTH and LIFE; or he can appear in THE FLESH in a LOCKED ROOM.

He can appear as FIRE in a BUSH.

He can appear as a CLOUD over and in the Tent of the tabernacle.

He can appear as column of fire on one side and total darkness on the opposite side.

We have to be BORN of Spirit, and that which is BORN of Spirit is Spirit, because ONLY Spirit is LIFE; BUT God has seen fit to CREATE a BODY for that Spirit to LIVE IN, and he called that BODY his Son Jesus Christ.

By the WORK'S of Christ resurrection we are a NEW CREATION, we have become THE BODY of Christ, he is the LIFE IN US, we are his BODY as HE is the BODY of the FATHER.

When he has subdued ALL CREATION under HIMSELF, he will turn the kingdom back to the Father who gave it to him, and ALL will be a BODY with the LIFE of the FATHER: Just like Christ.

God will be ALL in ALL.

Ephesians 4:4 .... ONE BODY (Christ) ..... ONE SPIRIT (God: LIFE and TRUTH) .......

Ephesians 4:6 ...... ONE GOD ..... FATHER of ALL .... above ALL ....through ALL ....in you ALL ....

    God bless you!

    Amen, Amen Nacol1900:

We are the exactness of Christ, and the kingdom is VERY PHYSICAL; just not the physical that the eye of flesh can see.

We are still with CHILD until we depart this body (the RAPTURE, gathered one by one).

Then we PUT ON CHRIST; not only immortal LIFE, but also an omnipresent BODY.

Luke 20:36 Neither can they (the new creation) DIED ANYMORE: for they are EQUAL unto the ANGELS (omnipresent); and are the CHILDren of GOD, being the CHILDren of the Resurrection.

THE MAN Jesus Christ ....is the BODY of the of the HOLY GHOST ...... OMNIPRESENT ....He is THE ANGEL .... we don't give up our body, we just exchange the MORTAL for the IMMORTAL (the RAPTURE).

Ephesians 4:4 ....ONE BODY ...... ONE SPIRIT .....

John 17:22 And the glory that thou GAVEST ME, I have GIVEN to THEM (the new CHILD), that they may be ONE even as we are ONE.

John 1:51 ....hereafter (the resurrection) you shall see (not with the physical eye) heaven open (the BODY of man) and the angels ascending and descending of the Son of man (the new creation)---- CHRIST IN YOU ----

Isaiah 60:22 And a little one (Christ) shall BECOME a THOUSAND, a small one (Christ) a STRONG NATION (Israel).

    God Bless YOU!

UNDERSTANDING THE POWER OF THE RESURRECTION

Psalms 17:15 As for ME (Christ), I will behold thy (the Father and God of Christ) face: I (Christ) will be satisfied, when I (Christ) awake (am resurrected, by the Father's SPIRIT), with THY (the Father's) likeness.

Romans 6:5 For if were be planted TOGETHER (you and Christ) in the likeness of his (Christ) DEATH; we shall also be the LIKENESS of HIS RESURRECTION.

Genesis 5:1 In that DAY (the day of the LORD; ALL MEN died with Christ and all MEN were resurrected with Christ) that God created man ( BY the resurrection), in the LIKENESS of GOD created he them.

Psalms 104:30 Thou sendest forth THY (the Father of ALL ( Ephesians 4:6) SPIRIT, THEY (all men) are CREATED; thou renewest the face of the earth.

Ezekiel 1:5 And out if the MIDST thereof (Christ) there came forth four LIVING CREATIONS, And this was their appearance, they (the new creation) had the appearance of A MAN (Christ).

Ezekiel 10:10 And as for the for their appearances (the LIVING CREATIONS), they four (the new creation) had ONE LIKENESS, as a WHEEL (Christ) in the MIDST of a WHEEL (Christ).

Colossians 1:27 ..this MYSTERY (of his resurrection) ... CHRIST IN YOU ..

Romans 8:28 For whom he (the Father of ALL) did foreknow, He (the Father) did predistinate (by the resurrection of Christ) to be conformed to the IMAGE (God) of his son, that he (Christ) might be the FIRSTBORN among many (cloned by his resurrection) BRETHREN.

Psalms 82:6 For I (the Father) have said, YE (my new creation, by your brother's resurrection) ARE GODS, the children of the most high.

John 10:35 If he (our Father, the WORD) called them (the new creation, by resurrection) GODS, unto WHOM the word of GOD CAME ( Hebrews 9:28), the scripture CANNOT be BROKEN.

Luke 20:36 Neither can THEY (the new creation) DIED ANYMORE (you died with Christ on the cross): for they are EQUAL to the ANGELS ( Isaiah 63:9...and the ANGEL of HIS (Christ in YOU) PRESENCE SAVED THEM.

    Do YOU BELIEVE God's WORD?

    Hello Chris

Maybe I was not clear in my post.

Firstly the grk for "church" which is "ekklesia" is of feminine gender, in grk the church is a "she".

In 2 Thess 2:6 the word "to katechon" is written in the grk, it is translated in Engl. as "what withholdeth", it's exact meaning is "it that posseses" and it may imply "it that withholds/hinders". Iit is of neuter gender ( in grk the gender is obvious from the particle used, also from the spelling of the word).

In the following verse 2 Thess 2:7 the word "o katechon" is used instead. It is translated as " he who now letterth will let". It's exact meaning is " he who possesses or he who withholds/hinders". This time a masculine gender is used for the same thing that is also mentioned in the previous verse.

So 2 different genders are used for the same thing, "it" and "he". There is only one thing in the Bible that two genders are used for the same thing. It is the Holly Spirit, it is a spirit so it is "it", but also it is a person hence the "he".

Last, when we say that the Spirit goes away with the church we don't really mean that the Spirit goes, this can not occur since the Spirit fills the universe, but we mean that the specific ministry of the Spirit in the church as a guide, a helper etc pauses to exist. The Spirit came to the church on Pentecost and goes with the Rapture of the church . It is He who is going to resurrect our bodies and hand us to Jesus in the sky, Ephesians 4:30, "And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption." GBU

Jude 1:20 But ye (you are the body of Christ), BELOVED, building up yourselves (in the truth of God's words) on your most HOLY FAITH (you were resurrected with CHRIST, your the body of Christ, it's HIS HOLY FAITH IN YOU, his body, praying in the HOLY GHOST (your mouth is the mouth of GOD, it's his words that come out of your mouth.

Christ said OF MYSELF, I can do nothing, the words you hear are my Father's words, the works you see are my Father's works, Christ is the body of his Father, we are the body of Christ, the words that come out of our mouth are the words of Christ, the works we do are not our works, but the works of Christ.

Man's teaching have destroyed the truth of the gospel.

That they may be ONE as we are ONE

Ephesians 4:4 ..... ONE BODY (that contains the LIFE of God) ......ONE SPIRIT (the LIFE of the body) ...

Ephesians 4:6 .....ONE GOD .....Father of ALL ......

You have to have your carnal mind destroyed by God's words and have the mind of Christ replace your carnal mind.

When you pray in the HOLY GHOST, you pray in the NAME OF JESUS (your his wife, you were MADE ONE by his resurrection, he has given you HIS NAME, he is the LIFE IN YOU, it's his word, nis prrayer

Psalms 12:4 Who (those not understanding) have said, with our tongue shall we prevail: our lips are our own: who is lord over us.

    Jane:

The creation in the first chapters of Genesis is both an act at that time and a prophecy of a second creation at Christ resurrection.

God MADE man from dust, breathed life into him and man became a living BODY, with a carnal mind.

Romans 8:20 For the creature was MADE subject to vanity, NOT WILLINGLY .....

When Christ was RESURRECTED, we became a NEW CREATION.

In Adam the LIFE was in the BLOOD, that life can DIE by the spilling of the BLOOD.

In Christ; LIFE is in the SPIRIT, it's IMMORTAL, spirit can't die.

Psalms 104:30 Thou sendest forth thy SPIRIT, they are CREATED: and thou renewest the face of the earth.

    Christ is also called ADAM.

1 Corinthians 15:45 ...The first man Adam was made a living BODY; the last (man) Adam was made a quicking SPIRIT.

Genesis 5:2 Male and Female CREATED he them; and blessed them, and callled THEIR NAME ADAM (Christ), in the day they were CREATED (I am the resurrection; THE NEW CREATION, the exactness of Christ).

We are BAPTISED in HIS NAME, the new creation.

Jeremiah 7:11 In MY HOUSE, which is called by MY NAME ....

Hebrews 3: Christ as a son over HIS OWN HOUSE, whose HOUSE WE ARE ....

Ephesians .....ONE BODY ......ONE SPIRIT ......

Ephesians 4:4 ..... ONE GOD .... Father of ALL ....above ALL .....through ALL ....and IN YOU ALL .....

    Deborah Phillips:

Revelation 19:10 And I (John) fell at his (Jesus) feet to worship him, and he (Jesus) said unto me (John), See thou doeth it not, I (Jesus) am thy (John) fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony (words) of Jesus: worship God (the father of ALL, including Jesus, Ephesians 4:6), for the testimony (words) of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy.

    Jesus is our full brother.

Romans 8:29 For whom he (the Father) did foreknow, he (the Father) also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his (the Father's) SON, that he (Jesus) might be the firstborn of many BRETHREN.

We are also servants to Jesus, as Jesus is a servant to his Father. Just as Jesus, the servant, worships his God and Father, we are not to worship Jesus; but God our Father, we are fellowservants and sons and daughters to God our Father, and are to worship the Father.

Jesus told his disciples as he washed their feet he was SENT to be a SERVANT, a servant does the WORK for his master; therefore, Christ does EVERYTHING for us.

Colossians 1:27 ...this mystery ....Christ in you ....

Philippians 2:13 For it is God that WORKETH in you both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.

John 15:5 I AM the vine, ye are the BRANCHES .....without ME (immortal LIFE) ye can do NOTHING.

You have to come to TRUTH that YOU, sinful flesh DIED on the cross, YOU no longer exist, Christ; ONLY, the BODY of the spirit of our Father, was RAISED; BY INHERITANCE YOU, also became the BODY (MANKIND is that BODY) of the Spirit.

1 Timothy 6:16 Who ONLY hath IMMORTALITY, dwelling in the light, which NO MAN can approach unto ...

1 Corinthians 12:27 ....you are the body of Christ .....

Are YOU the TEMPLE OF GOD, or is the Lord God Almighty, and the Lamb the TEMPLE OF IT, and YOU become ONE by HIS RESURRECTION and Christ GAVE YOU an inheritance, by sharing the SAME BODY: Revelation 21:22?

Ephesians 4:4 .....ONE body .... ONE spirit .....

1 Corinthians 15:53 ...this mortal MUST put on IMMORTALITY (Christ ONLY hath immortality)

1 Corinthians 15:38 But God giveth it (the NEW creation) a BODY as it hath pleased him, and to every SEED his (the Father's) OWN BODY (Christ is the BODY of the FATHER).

Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Ephesians 4:21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

    22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

    23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
