EROMOSELE CLEMENT EHIMARE on Acts 11 - 7 years ago
I personally love Peter's humility in explaining to others why he did what he did with the Gentiles. Barnabas was his brothers keeper. Acts 11 also shows that God does not count our sins against us , he love us irrespective of who we are and where we are. just accepting Christ as our Saviour is the access card we need for eternal life. God be praise
Repenting means changing Your Mind and agreeing with God, He is Wisdom and Truth. If you say you have no sin, you make Him a liar. Why won't you come to Him so that you can be saved? Repent and find rest for your soul!
Father, I thank you for your Son. for his precious BLOOD that redeem my Soul. thank you for salvation full and free. thank you for the comforter you have place within my Soul ooh father I worship you,
peter was true servant of the lord that always was in connection with with the voice of God. The way that Peter responded to the call against the perceptions, the law, creeds of the Jews is a perfect type to the church that we ought to be moved by the spirit and not man made ideas, creeds or culture.
Acts 11:18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life. All the Gentiles have to do is change there way of believing and believe God's way. That's repentance.
To TKN95 on Matt. 28:19 - Here are 2 answers - they DID baptize in the NAME ( Acts 2:38); they DID go into all the world, albeit a little slowly ( Acts 11:19). But even today, as Christians, we are sometimes 'slow' to respond if it seems scary or what ever the case may be. But HE knows how to get His work done, i.e, persecution, and etc.
"What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common." We, as the children of God, should discern what is sacred and holy, in the same Spirit as our Father in heaven. The redemption of a man's soul, and all that goes into his salvation, is precious; and true conversions rare. Insomuch as we should carefully scrutinize to assure someone's right repentance and faith; by so much our joy when we see it!
In verse 7 GOD was trying to show Peter that everything and everyone belongs to Him. And if He says its clean and good who are we to not obey His word.
King James Bible is not false sir and above all things we must be born again to make heaven, Jesus said himself no one will enter the kingdom without being born again John 3:3-21 it's not just for the Jews. Acts 10:45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 11:1-18 read it
We need the Holy Spirit every moment of our lives. For only the Holy Spirit can cleansed us and guide us into his heavenly manna the word of God. Thanks to Jesus for providing us with his manna. Jesus himself is the word of God. He have come to give us life. Thanks to Jesus for his precious blood that shed for us. Amen
If Acts 2 is doctrinally to you today and not for Jews then please do follow these verses too. Acts 2:44-45 And all that believed were together, and had all things common And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. Will you please do that? That 's what the Bible instructs you to do. The Church age was not revealed at this time Eph 3 and the Pauline epistles hadn 't been written yet. This Acts 2 is a Jewish faith Rom 1:16-17 . Yes they were added to the church but Acts is transitional. They are not added that way now. There are four different ways the Holy Spirit is received in Acts alone. But Paul our Apostle Rom 11:13 says its by Grace through faith ALONE. Once the kingdom is rejected with the stoning of Stephen Paul the apostle to the gentiles is saved and the transition from Jew to Gentile begins and by Acts 15 everyone agrees by faith alone. Relief is being sent to the Jews who obeyed Acts 2:44-45. See Acts 11:27-30, Rom 15:26, 1 Cor 16:1-3 .
8 But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth.. the same also with Gods creation, specially human being. that is why Jesus said love your neighbor as yourself. saying Bad things to your neighbor it breaks the Heart of God. God is Love, the Kingdom of God are for those who believe and do His will....you have been Cleansed by God, ...God Bless....
Verse 7, the Lord was telling Peter that the spiritual laws had changed. The example of unclean animals that were now acceptable to eat is symbolic. Peter was growing in spiritual knowledge listening to the Lord showing the light of understanding that Gods love is unconditional towards all men. "Create in me a clean heart, O God. " - Psalm 51.10 That is what was happening to Peter, his heart was cleansed from bias against Gentiles. God is the Divine source of all life represented in the vision of the descending animals. Peter had thought that the kingdom of God was for Israel only but the Lord showed Peter that to promote harmony and peace in the world it is important to understand we are all members of God 's worldwide family. Peters spiritual identity was changed to accept that ALL men have the opportunity to be saved from sin. The understanding and compassion we give to others becomes our own. God 's grace, goodness and forgiveness is for all mankind not just for Israel. " There is one body and one Spirit...One God and Father of us all, who is above all and through all and in all. " - Eph. 4.4-6
Acts 10:10, acts 11:5, acts 22:18 Peter fell into a TRANCE and had spiritual vision. Numbers 4:4 16 Balaam falling in a TRANCE even with his eyes open, seeing the Almighty. Psalms 46:10 Be still and know that I am God means your mind by meditation, stopping the carnal thought until you enter into a TRANCE . The Webster definition for TRANCE is a narrow passage, a narrow pathway A NARROW GATE I hope this helps all of you. It 's God 's way or no way at all.
It is amazing to see the way that the Holy Spirit began to direct the church with visions and definite signs to verify that they were genuine. He still does this for those who have received the baptism of the Holy spirit even today.
You have to get the Kingdoms right. The Kingdom of heaven can suffer violence and the violent can take it by force see Matt 11:12. The Kingdom of God is entered by the new birth upon believing on Jesus Christ by the gospel revealed to Paul and it is found laid out in 1 Cor 15:1-4. Paul was BORN before his water baptism see 1 Cor 15:8. And Ananias called him BROTHER Saul in Acts 9:17 before water baptism in verse 18. There are no Christians in Acts 2. That term doesn 't even show up until Acts 11:26. Those saved before the gospel of the Grace of God were added to the Church because the N.T. had not been written and the mystery was not yet revealed to the apostle Paul. You can 't be saved by Acts 2:38 today. That 's the way to hell. You are saved by obeying the gospel found in 1 Cor 15:1-4. Rom 16:26 says its the OBEDIENCE OF FAITH. Rom 10:16 But they have not all OBEYED the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath BELIEVED our report?

it shows that with that evangelist you can never be call christian, this is because Jesus Christ came to preach the sermon and because of what they did they were classify as Christ followers
The NT was written in Koini Greek English Bibles commentaries etc translated thru Greek Biblical Bible scholars to the English speaking world use Latin and or other non Greek words to define the words disciple witness and saints to name a few maligned words used in the present church world where s the scholarship
a careful and prayerful study of Acts 11 19 thru Acts 14 28 in the AV Bible will show that the disciples in Acts 11 26 were Jewish believers Hellenistic Jews not Gentiles in Acts 11 20 the word Grecian means Hellenistic Jew in the KJV take special notice of Acts 14 27
The disciples were called christain because they live their way of life accordinly to how jesus taught them My advice to we christain is we should not bear xtian by name only but by doing the will of God
My reading of Acts ch. 11 was a great blessing. I am reading through the NT in 31 days and using this website for all my reading of the scripture. What a wonderful beginning the church had. I am so grateful that the Holy Spirit is still here living the life of Christ through every surrendered believer. Wanting to fill the life of every believer that still habitually lives a self-dependent life. Praise Him for his goodness, patience and mercy in my lives and all who believe.
Provided we seek the face of GOD for HIS leadership,HIS will to be done, and wait on HIM...HE will lead us and speak HIS words through us to those who will receive it. TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY!!!!!!!
From the beginning the Christ intended to include all people bringing them to His Father's kingdom-all who would listen. In Acts chapters 10 and 11 we see how the faithful are rewarded-'your prayers are answered' said the angel.
Simon-Peter's vision is more the completion of His grand plan to continue spreading His message through the Disciples to all people-all who would listen.
Today we are the receiptants and bare witness to the success of Peter's, Barnabas's, and Saul's all the Disciples great journey. Now we are all disciples answer the prayers of others and bring them The Word. You share the hope that is the Christ's love for all people-all who will listen.
