responds to Devlin; thanks for answering back, don't know Hebrew, trust the scholars for that, but as I understand it -eli eli lema sabachthani- my god my god why hast thought forsaken me. My question then to you would be simply who do you think JESUS was; mere prophet, jewish demigod, divinely inspired rabbi, or the LORD made flesh? What was the LORD trying to teach with those last words?
  • Reuben on Revelation 20 - 9 years ago
what about people who believe they'll get to by their own merits ?
  • Wayne on Romans 1 - 9 years ago
What was , now is ; who is it that sells the word of God? That makes a business out of souls? Who has not read the words from the mouth of Jesus; my fathers house is a house of prayer; But you have turned it into a den of thieves? The word of God is given to this generation. "As for tomorrow, the evil there of is sufficient unto that day."Salvation is for the world. Love is God.
  • Monica on 1 Samuel 1 - 9 years ago
God is a very loving Father and he will never abandon those that call to him in the name of Jesus his only Son. Regardless of how long Hannah being barren, she knew in her heart that God, and God alone could change her situation. When she prayed, she prayed without doubt that God was listening to her prayer and that he would answer. We sometimes pray without believing - whether what I have asked for will come through or not? Or the doctor has said I have few weeks to live before I die so I'm not quite so what will happen! Doubts closes the door to God's mercy throne. Hannah prayed believing and she received but she also lived up to the promise she made to give back the child for God's glory. Wonderful lesson and one of my favorites.
  • Word on Revelation 17 - 9 years ago
This chapter of explaining is very good as you look at vs 15 that the waters are the people that the whore rises from. Almost every time you read waters or sea in this book it means people. So this religious one world religion rises up with antichrist in charge with his 10 supernatural kings. Not the earthly kings that begin to get things started but when you see the false Antichrist and his 10 kings show up that's when you know Satan is on earth or just look out your window and you'll see the rapture buses going by to the airport to fly to Jerusalem because they believe that the first CHRIST is going to fly them someplace? But after the first tribulation AND THEN you will see the Lord coming to consume the wicked one and his followers with fire and He will set up His Kingdom here.
  • Gerald Bankhead on 1 Samuel 1 - 9 years ago
Jesus is the Son of God, but is Himself a God. I believe this is the Son praying to His Father. Rather than a God praying to a God. At the time Jesus spoke to God, The Father, He knew He was answering to someone with more power, so to speak. If not, why ask? Jesus was asking the only person, He knew could
    Help Him.

Matthew 6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? Mark 12:27 He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err. Ephesians 5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
  • Devlin on 1 Samuel 1 - 9 years ago
Responds to Mr. Karl. I've read in Psalms 22 until 23. Still the same, Very clearly that Jesus still prayed to God. Jesus as God want another God for helping. And Jesus as a God, still want helping from God? If you know Hebrew.. you know the meaning of ELI ELI LAMA SABAKHTANI... Tq
  • Karl on 1 Samuel 1 - 9 years ago
responds to Devlin; I think that, with his last words Jesus was hearkening us back to Psalm 22, and at the same time giving us his last lesson. The LORD drew us to Psalm 22 to draw us back to Psalm 23, read together the final message resonates within a Christian soul, how's that sound to you?
  • Karl on Matthew 5 - 9 years ago
responds to Shiyam; the LORD was, as I understand it, saying that if you walk in the path set forth through Jesus, that you may/will become children of the LORD. Jesus showed us the truth, the way and the life ( John 14:6) - how's that sound to you?
  • Shiyam on Matthew 5 - 9 years ago
45 says that one might be the son if follow teachngs..
so how can one become equal to Jesus, who is called the lord.?
  • Devlin on 1 Samuel 1 - 9 years ago
The most interesting to me is this..

    Matthew 27:46,
Jesus said "ELI ELI LAMA SABAKHTANI" (which means "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?). It's show that there's another God and who's the God that Jesus called? Does Jesus@God prayed? How can Jesus@God prayed to another God? Somebody can tell me about this plz. Tq
  • R.Adams On verse 16 on Jeremiah 12 - 9 years ago
" to swear by my name, The LORD liveth" Dont we always swear by Jesus name? Swearing here is more of taking an oath to God and His name being the most powerful of all, by what else would you swear an oath by to God? In His name, of course.
  • Wayne on Matthew 20 - 9 years ago
Where is the house that man has built for God our Father.? For Jesus himself rebuilt it in three days. Have we learned nothing of the understanding of the way of God ? • Wayne - 9 years ago
Do you love? The word of God is love.To see and understand you must start with love .For the kingdom of God is not of this world . therefore be in the world but not of the world . Remember from where you have fallen. For it is by love that sustains mercy and by mercy comes grace. But glory and power is for ever our Father's who is in heaven.love is the way to understanding.

responds to "Al" and "Nicol"-- I think Psalm 24 may actually have your answer Nicole -ps24:4-, Leviticus is not just for priests, all should approach the LORD with a clean heart and soul. To "Al" might not the gates refer to the eyes, and the everlasting doors to the heart/soul, lift up your gaze and open your heart to the LORD - how's that sound to you?

to Minister Smith, if we show no compassion to the creatures we hold in stewardship, for this planet and all on it belong to he who made it, how can we hope for compassion when we in turn seek it from our LORD?
  • Minister Anthony M.Smith, Sr. on Genesis 1 - 9 years ago
Recently while preparing a sermon it dawned on m that God created everything and stated that is was good. So if we believe in God and that is the creator of everything including us; why then do we so-called Christians get caught up in saving what God created? Every creature that is no longer with us is because God decided to eliminate it; there is nothing man can do to destroy what God created.

1 John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists whereby we know that it is the last time. 1 Peter 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? 18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
