Is this very verse useful when one is about to sleep at night,?

This is a message about forgiveness, based on our fellowship with God and fellowship with others. Are there unforgiveness in my heart; are there areas of unforgiveness that I need to forgive? What do others see when they see me?

Dear Brother Bill, I don't know why this is so hard to understand: the whole reason for our being left here after we're saved, is to show forth the grace of God by a really converted life, BY GOOD WORKS! Its not competition w/grace!

"And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it." If the Lord comes and finds no fruit, how shall it be known what kind of man you are? Certainly not one in His likeness!

Jot; Just in case there are actually multitudes of sincere Believers with good and honest hearts; who really do think deeply about WHAT they pray; don't you think it might be a "little" arrogant to presume that praying the "Our Father" is heathen repetition? Leading the Assembly in prayer of the very words of our Lord is a good thing! Maybe you need to start praying, instead of attacking prayer.

Verse 7: "when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do" - Then in verses 10 to 13 he gives an EXAMPLE of a righteous prayer..
Certain denominations then REPEAT the EXAMPLE word for word for CENTURIES taking Jesus' words literally! Such a contradiction. And since when was the savior EVER literal?! His entire gospel was told in metaphors.
Our prayers should be unique and from the heart.

Now think about the forces at work today against the Name of Jesus and the authority of His Word, and how there is such a push toward political activism of every description to force our enemies back and secure our liberties! What is the difference?

Charlotte; Wine has always what it is! Haven't you read how Noah got drunk? Wine is not a sin, nor any drink, in and of itself; but the drunkard is the sinner: if someone can drink with a good conscience toward God and his neighbor, and not use it for debauchery and excess! As Saints of Jesus we are not forbidden to drink wine or liquor of any kind, if it be with moderation and respect for others.

I Think We need To Be Very Careful As To What And Who We Listen Too As We Should Be Aware Of The Fact That Most Of The Time We Respond To What We Hear.A Lot Of Our Hearing Comes From Self And A lot Of Our Past And Present Mishaps Or Fairues Joined By The Devil Himself Has A Tendency To Have A Conversation With Us To Try And Keep Us Unmotivated .What I'm Saying Is We Sometimes Talk Too Negative To Ourselves.This Self Talk If We Are Not Conscious And Careful Will Cause Us To Drown In Self Pity,Cause Low Esteem Issues And Make Us Feel Depressed And Condemned. We Need To Stay In Sheep Mode Always Listening To Jesus Voice For He Says My Sheep Know My Voice And A Stranger They Will Not Hear.So ListenTo What His Word Says And Take His Word Seriously.If Its Says There Is No Condemnation To Them Which Are In Him Christ Who Who Walks Lives Not After The Flesh But After The Spirit Believe It Jesus Will Not Lie To You ?Even If Your Conversation To Yourself Say Otherwise Don't Listen Yourself.....

Glory to God for sending His own Son (God incarnate) to be born of a virgin and to die for us on the cross so that we could be saved from our sins. What a Saviour! I have not observed Christmas for over thirty years because I believe that mixing pagan tradition with His holy birth dishonors my Saviour. If God wanted us to observe Jesus' birth would He not have revealed this to us in His Word?

No one has ever seen the Father but Jesus. Has anyone out there seen Jesus? In November of 2008 around 5pm, Our Lord Jesus appeared with His heavenly host to me when I was very sick. He did not speak, but smiled to me. In my 69 years of life, the few minutes spent with Him, is the high point of my life. Never really understood why He blessed a sinner like me so wonderfully. Stephen Z; I just want to point out to you that though part of what you write is accurate and correct according to the Scriptures; a better knowledge of the entire history with respect to God's plan for man, shows more than what you say; and we have a tendency to negate the importance of the things done in past ages because our perception of history is so short. Does this mean that when we arrive in glory to meet the LORD in the Day of Eternity, that we will all look alike and be all the same? I don't think so! For John wrote in the Prophecy about a multitude that no man can number small AND greast, from out of every Nation and tribe and kindred and tongue worshiping before the Throne. And what about each one's abilities and work that Jesus shall give us to do, and the authority over cities etc? As far as any of us being superior or inferior, sacred or common, the leader or the helper NONE of those things have anything to do with us in Christ! The things that we see and experience now in this world about who's the greatest, and who is only in the world for serving their betters, does not exist with us in Christ! We are ALL brethren, and Jesus alone is our Master, our Leader, and our Superior! Do each of us actually have diversities of gifts, abilities, callings? Are we not all individual and particular members of the body? But all of us together IS THE BODY!

Who was Paul referring to in verse 5-7? Jesus or Melchisidek? Who with strong crying and supplication was heard of God? Paul is not clear but the point is that they both were high priests, appointed as was Aaron to perform ritual sacrifice. Jesus was the High Priest of our profession for his obedience toward God,in that he suffered crucifiction in order to demonstrate eternal life in God. Amen

In order to get the first-most importance of the meaning in any Scripture passage, we have to first understand it in the context of the whole part in which it appears. In this instance then, there were once again, hateful adversaries running upon the Lord with what they assumed was an impossible predicament, so that through it they could have something to accuse the Lord and thus publicly expose Him as a fraud and impostor. But what happens is their own foul consciences and evil intentions are exposed to their own shame. First There are NO Commandments in the Scriptures that are impossible for us to keep, for ANY reason! And Second The Statutes of capital punishment for certain crimes was to be executed, NOT by a vindictive and self-righteous mob, seeking to make an example but for a pure and holy people to protect their society from being ruined. Now that the "society" is utterly corrupt and filled with sinning against God What is the Lord Jesus to do? How is He to act toward people whom He wants to SAVE FROM THEIR SINS AND NOT KILL THEM FOR THEM? He does not condemn us but lets us go free to live! He frankly forgives all of us who have NOTHING to pay and in love leads us to REPENTANCE and a CHANGED LIFE! He is the Light which gives us Light!

Jeff; that is such an important point, and what all history and the whole need of our redemption hinges upon. Have you also wondered why the man and his wife were not killed outright upon their disobedience? Look closely at the Trial and Proceedings: God heard the testimony of the man and his wife of what all happened, and God judged the devil; pronouncing his eternal doom by the coming of Christ.

I was reading a book at this site (can't remember which one) and I saw a face appear! The face had eyes and a mouth and was oval. The face disappeared before becoming complete as I seen it on the side of my screen. Does anybody know if this is part of the program or did anyone see this before? Multitudes of toiling and troubled lives, each one with a story of experiences and feelings, of love and hatred and unfulfilled purpose with varying degrees of light and darkness, of empty days of darkness, without the grace, peace and the knowledge of God. Children are born and grown up and old, in good health and ill, rich and poor, in a deceitful and unjust world unfit for the Presence of God. So God comes down Himself in the flesh to visit and redeem us, and to lay down His life to rescue us from our destructions. God made us and sustains our lives because He wants us! He has an eternal plan for the world to be saved, and He has chosen a few from out of the world, to be His Royal Embassy of His Glad Tidings to all the world. That's how we are to look upon the multitudes like Jesus does!
