"But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God." Was it really the "breaking of the Sabbath" or even that as they supposed a mere man had "made himself equal to God?" NO But they rage against the conviction of the Truth.

  • Servant of God on Revelation 1 - 8 years ago
I am he that liveth, and was dead, and behold am alive forever more. Pretty heady stuff, eh D.? But he who traversed the shadow of the valley speaks to us, his words purified and certfied by the Father of All, who Jesus himself is subject to! As are many, Jesus here is witness to almighty God, blessed be He. This is the Revelation! God is in His heaven, and to Him be the glory forever, Amen.
  • A disciple on Hebrews 11 - 8 years ago
Hi John; I'm glad to help. It sounds like they are Jehovah's Witnesses; is that right? They are best known for their door-to-door preaching, distributing literature such as The Watchtower and Awake! and refusing military service, etc. They follow a false Bible; completely mutilated and rewritten after their own heretical views, such as denying the divinity of Christ or the existence of hell.

"..for he should make full restitution; if he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft." This Country is FULL of guilt for harm to victims that is not avenged by the Judges; while the wicked are housed and cared for, and never have to restore or repay what they stole or destroyed. Why do men think they know better than God? Look at what a disaster is the result!
  • A disciple on Exodus 22 - 8 years ago
"If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him. If the sun be risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him; for he should make full restitution; if he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft." How GREAT if that were done today! Why are people who do wickedly merely "locked up" and not SOLD? This would be righteous for everyone.

Day 70 Bible in a Year Reading. It is as if Samson, though very flawed, used himself as an instrument of retribution even to his death. He allowed God to give him great strength and took care of his body and his desires, but he did not allow God to always penetrate his heart. Yet, he is listed in Hebrews as a man of faith. What could have been if he had totally consecrated himself to God?
  • Guy on Wisdom of Solomon 1 - 8 years ago

  • Neil, in Canada on Revelation 20 - 8 years ago
Re Rev 20:12...."the books were opened...judgment based on what were in the books"what are the books?
    Jesus said earlier
"...the words that I have spoken, they will be the judge in the last day"
Where do we find the words that Jesus has spoken?
Primarily, in the Gospels( better, see the red letter edition of Scripture)
So , unbelievers will be judged on their unbelief, the sin unto death

  • Gabrielle.s.simons on Job 1 - 8 years ago
did you all even know that Job had ten kids?
  • A disciple on Luke 23 - 8 years ago
"And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together: for before they were at enmity between themselves." How does one become friends with someone so vile and unrepentant as Herod? And that, especially over the matter of the judgment of what to do about Jesus, and how is delivered up without cause by the who hate Him and want to ill Him without cause!
  • Andrew on Proverbs 22 - 8 years ago
the Hebrew is Tabab onah barak when translated is tabab to speak onah sin barak make kneel. How is this translated to what we have?
  • Eric on Mark 11 - 8 years ago
Jesus knew that the chief priests WOULD not tell him, not that they COULD not. When Jesus asks you to do something do you say you CANNOT? The true answer is that you WILL NOT. Selah
  • Irene 123 on Hebrews 10 - 8 years ago
    No one commented on v. 25 ................... ?
  • Servant of God on John 8 - 8 years ago
He is a liar and the father of it! He lies because there is no truth in him, because he is of the world, because his father is the devil, and there is no repentance in him. So they accuse Jesus, whom the Father has sent of having a devil. OMG, what hypocrisy. Are we not paying attention to current events? What is happening is a descent into these conditions that existed then! Are we not aware?
  • Ruth on Romans 9 - 8 years ago
verse 25 As he saith also in Osee What is that ?
  • A disciple on Luke 17 - 8 years ago
"And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger." The Lord knows when the crowds are thronging and pressing at Him, and when one touches Him in faith that virtue goes out from Him. Jesus also is aware of how many take His healing and salvation and go their way NOT returning to give God glory.
  • A disciple on Luke 17 - 8 years ago
"Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I expect not. So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do." When we have been explicitly told what we are to believe and do, and how to think of ourselves, how then is obedience something special or extra?
  • Grace on Genesis 4 - 8 years ago
How does one explain the presence of other people in Genesis 4 e.g. who did Cain marry If Adam and Eve were the first people that God created?
  • A disciple on Genesis 21 - 8 years ago
Jean (cont.); You wrote, "..a Muslim asked me to justify what took place in Genesis 21." The keyword is Just! What was just about despising her mistress? What was just about mocking Isaac? What is just about arrogantly rejoicing over someone else's unhappiness and trial, and hatefully mocking at their joys? The LORD said that Ishmael would be a mongrel and a terror to everyone and it sure is true!
  • A disciple on Romans 10 - 8 years ago
Michael (cont.); You dare to say that the Apostle Matthew, who was filled with the Holy Spirit at "THE" Day of Pentecost, and the first to write the Holy Glad Tidings Narrative the same year that the Lord ascended; that HE didn't have a clue? How then did Jesus open their understanding to Scripture, while according to you they did not understand?
  • A disciple on Psalms 80 - 8 years ago
Mable; Forgive me, but WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? "GOD Said as long your attach abuse in me I will abide in you.we will never be for from his tree of life???" The Lord doesn't "abide" in those who abuse Him! Also, the Tree of Life is guarded by an Angel with a flaming sword to prevent sinful fallen men to approach; until the time to come when the evil in men is forever put away. Please write me!
  • A disciple on Genesis 21 - 8 years ago
Jean; Tell your friend, first of all about Hagar: that in ancient times it was normal and acceptable to have household servants; either hired or owned; for many practical reasons. It didn't necessarily imply oppression or cruelty as it would today. Many times it was because someone had nothing to pay his debt but with his life in service to the one he owed. Maybe Pharaoh gave her to Sarah? Gen. 12
  • Tara on Genesis 1 - 8 years ago
We as people in this world keep thinking were ok. We have weapons and those in power. So i have to wonder if our father keeps seeing us fight on our own...do we not need him? Battles are won on are knees how many of us do this? Do our leaders ask for his help or r they alright on their own....our father is not forceful ...he is patient. I just hope we wake up but we need him as ruler.
  • A disciple on Romans 10 - 8 years ago
Michael; How do you know what kind of tree it is except by its fruit? The fountain springs either fresh water or bitter. God is ONE, His Spirit is one, and His Word is one. There is no word or standard for one age, and another one for others later. God hasn't changed His character, nor His purpose and will concerning us. While He waits with patience for men to repent, His judgments are the same.
  • A disciple on Romans 10 - 8 years ago
Michael; You read the Sermon on the Mount, and you think that Jesus was not referring to us? What part exactly was it? The beatitudes? Not being a hypocrite? Loving others and being perfect as our Father in heaven? Doing all these His sayings? What words out of the whole Bible, do you think, DON'T APPLY TO YOU? And do you think the Holy Spirit is going to confirm your words to disregard Scripture?
  • Alex on Romans 10 - 8 years ago

  • Esworth on Genesis 1 - 8 years ago
The whole bible I have doubt though there are some good things I could
have said about it, This life is not what the most high has given us, All around us is all evil, iniquity, even our government are evil so what had gone wrong,
Are we still in captivity? what is still hidden from us that would give us life as the most high had planned for his chosen people, Surely this is not his plan for us.
  • Eutychus on John 19 - 8 years ago
"Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin." Vs 11. I've been asked, "Who is this, the HE that hath the greater sin?" Is it God? The answer is found in the previous chapter, vs 35, "Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priest have delivered thee unto me"..
  • Eutychus - 8 years ago
"Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice...(ALL SHALL HEAR HIS VOICE)
And shall come forth; ALL they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and ALL they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation". Jesus forgot about the rapture..an oversight no doubt. Or maybe, there isn't a rapture, but a resurrection?
