Bruce. He was crucified Wednesday before 6:00 pm sunset on a special sabbath

In Nissan and rose Saturday night before sunrise Sunday morning. He never

Ate the Passover meal with His disciples because he was the Passover for all

Mankind. Work all four gospels in correct time sequence and you'll see.

    Hello S. Spencer.

I grew up with the tradition of the Last Supper on Thursday evening and the crucifixion on Friday and the resurrection on Sunday. And there were explanations given for what seemed like a discrepancy of time using partial days counted as one whole day. But as I have researched more, I realize that the annual Passover feast was the 15th day of the month in Nissan. It lasts for seven days.

So the 15th day of Nissan is a Sabbath but not on the 7th day of the week. Most likely Wednesday, as you state. There would also be a Sabbath on the 7th day that same week. And perhaps one on Friday, but I am not sure about that one.

So it seems that this month has a non-7th day Sabbath celebrating the passing over of the Israelites from death while in Egypt as they had killed a lamb, put the blood on the doorway and eaten the Passover meal before fleeing in the middle of the night from Egypt.

Jesus had the Passover meal most likely on Wednesday and was crucified on Thursday. Buried also. Thursday night Friday night=1 day; Friday night to Saturday night[2 days; Saturday night to Sunday dawn= 3 days.

I do wish that denominations who hold to the tradition I was raised in would change their teaching to match what is Biblically true. I think that some leaders in the Early Church were very anti-Jewish and did not want to acknowledge the truth about how the Jews celebrated Passover. But now we know better, and the church should make the proper adjustment to reflect truth.

Bruce i don't know if this can help you....But on the 3 rd day after he arose 2 of his disciples met him on the road to Emmaus and said this is the 3 rd day since these things began....And we had hoped that this wd be he that wd redeem Israel....And this is the 3 rd day...Little did they know that this was the very Christ that died and had risen again on the 3 rd day....And they dined with him and he was known to them by the breaking of bread....The 3 rd day....We are early in the 3 rd day now....Spiritually speaking....Maybe he has risen again and we just don't know it yet...Jesus said that the bridegroom wd come at midnight...Which is a time of darkness....ok gbu

    2. "Is there somewhere in the Bible that specifically states that John is one of the 7,000? If you cannot cite a Biblical reference, then I suspect your belief is speculative. Conversely, I can cite a reference that John will prophesize in the "Great City". Do we just disregard a factual statement?"

Yes, by John's own mouth in Revelation 1 saying:

    4 JOHN to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from Him Who is, and Who was, and Who is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before His throne;

5 And from Jesus Christ, Who is the faithful witness, and the first born of the dead, and the Ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him That loveth us, and loosed us out from our sins by His own blood,

6 And ... made us to be a Kingdom and to be (priests) to The revealed God and His Father; to Him be the glory and the dominion for ever and ever. even the Amen.

That's what the Zedok are "Priest's" Lord's whereby Jesus is Lord of.

    Thank you Father!

    2. Does Jesus really condemned the Idolatry of the Old Testament?

    Hi Bruce.

The miscalculation is the sabbath day. Jesus had to be buried before the sabbath. (After 6:00 pm Friday starts the seventhday sabbath.) So some assumed Christ was buried Friday. But apparently they had another sabbath earlier in the week "perhaps Wednesday"

There's 4 sabbaths observed by Israel. This would put you in the area of this issue. Hopefully others can help.

    God bless.

    Hey Bruce,

I understand your why. Do we follow tradition or scripture? Jesus addressed the Pharisees on traditions. The verse I love that highlight it, is Matt. 23:24 Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel. It is the same with the wise men at the manger, and two of each animal went into the ark, and Jesus ate the Passover meal.

There are traditions and sometimes people defend them fiercely. We have some traditions with memories of family, friends, and loved ones passed down from generations. Tradition is for teaching and learning as the apostles did. On the other side, things can be added to, or changes made to traditions and become dressed as something else and take away or change the true meaning.

We must pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit to show us what we should not participate in and what we do we do unto the Lord. My understanding is Passover day was on the 5th day of the week what is called Thursday. This day started at sundown on the 4th day, Wed. and on that day, the Lord's Supper, the garden, the arrest, taken to Pilate, crucified and died the same time the Passover lambs were being sacrificed and He was put in the tomb before sundown, days start at sundown.

This would make the 6th day Fri. the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread which John called a high day, no work could be done other than to eat, the reason the women could not go to the tomb until the morning of the first day of the week, the Feast of Firstfruits with two sabbaths Fri. and Sat. I can give the scripture if asked.

    God bless,

    RLW

    Hello Bruce,

You are correct to believe the words of Jesus rather then men, he was our faultless savior and not even guile was found in his mouth. The Jews do start a 24 hour day at "evening" or sunset, Gen 1:5"And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day." You will need to closely look at all the Gospels from Matthew to John starting around when Jesus and his dispels kept the Passover at the end of each Gospel, keep notes its tricky to keep track, each Gospel holds a piece of the puzzle.

More importantly Bruce I hope Jesus finds you perfect and without fault when he comes again. Have you obeyed his Gospel and his plan of salvation?

*Repentance - turning away from all sinful evil works.

*Baptism in Jesus' name - being completely submerged in water with the name of "Jesus" spoken of you for the remission of your sins. His name is the one you must be saved by Acts 4:12.

*Receiving the Holy Ghost - being filled with the Spirit of God and when this happens you "will" speak in a different language "tongues". John 3:8

But don't take my word for it take his, Acts 17:11 "These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so."

See it happen for yourself in Acts chapter 2, 8, 10, 19, and 22. May the Spirit of the Lord be with you in your reading!! Halleluiah!!

No Tony John the Revelator does not see Moses or Elijah within the 7 Golden Candle sticks....In Rev. 1 : 13 John only saw Christ the Son of man within the 7 Golden candle sticks....And in Rev 12 :5 We see the Manchild which is the H.G. that is gonna rule all nations....These 2 witnesses are Spirits....Christ and the H.G....Wayback in Zech 4 the 2 witnesses were his spirits....Not by might or Power but by my Spirits saith the lord....And do not dispise the day of small things....Which is the seed of the sower the woman giving birth to the H.G as Jesus said Unless ya receive the Kingdom of God as a lil Child which is the manchild you will in no wise enter there in....And in Rev. 11 and Zech 4 The 2 witnesses are among the 7 Golden candle sticks...Not Elijah or Moses ....

.....And in Rev 12....We see a clear picture of the manchild that is gonna rule all nations with a rod of iron that 2 nd witness....They were both dead for 2 k yrs....Which was the abomination of desolation when Jesus said the night comes when no man can work....I'm he that was dead but behold i am alive for ever more.

....In Zech 4 :14 ....These are the 2 anointed ones that stand before the God of the earth....Christ and the H.G....That John saw among the 7 Golden candle sticks. Jesus said when he the spirit of truth is come the will reprove the world.

......And in Rev 19 he rides a white horse and outta of his mouth goes a sharp sword that he will smite the nations ....And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood.....We are his vesture dipped in blood....I was naked and you clothe me....

......We have to keep in mind what Jesus said I am 1 that bears witness of my self and my Father that sent me bears witness of me....In Rev 11 God does not tell us who the 2 witnesses are he only says Not by might nor power but by my spirit....But i believe the 2 witness are Christ and the H.G.....As John plainly tells us he saw the Son of Man within the 7 Golden candlesticks..Not Moses or Elijah...ok

Relative to the time you speak. The resurrection happened according too God the Father time line. Every word in scripture is vital. This question u ask, I am not sure of too this point and time. What is vital, is that, Jesus did die, and rose again!

Jesus said he would be 3 days and 3 nights in the grave. The traditions of men have Jesus dying on the cross Friday night and resurrecting early Sunday morning. Most churches do the same.....why? Don't they go by the Bible

2 Peter 3:1-18. I am so glad Peter endorsed the hard to understand Paul's epistles. Everything tied together with God. Glory and honor to God Almighty and the Lord Jesus Christ. We pray and hoping to save as many people. God gave us Paul to know the how to"s in these last days. Sadly, we still see a lot of lost people.

And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 2 Peter 1:2

Save your family first by being a good example. We will continue to pray for all.

Okay, no problem,,, I have to go to work but I can start with this.

Ezekiel 3:1 Moreover He said unto me, Son of Adam, eat that thou findest; eat this scroll, and go speak unto the house of Israel

3:3 And He said unto me, Son of Adam, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.

14 So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong upon me.

Revelation 10:8 And the voice which I heard from heaven I heard speaking with me again, saying, "Go and take the Book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth."

9 And I went unto the angel, ... saying to him, "Give me the Book." And he saith to me, "Take it, and eat it up [receivethe knowledge]; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.

It was the knowledge of the book that caused them bitter.

The belly reference is a figure of speech, the word is koilia and the Usage: is belly, abdomen, heart, a general term covering any organ in the abdomen, e.g. stomach, womb; met: the inner man.

The Great City (Babylon) is symbolic for confusion whereby peoples, nations, and tongues are the wave of, and it's where God's Election Prophecy, whether during the Great tribulation, or during the Millennium.

I agree, we do not know how John died, Selah!

Abiding in Christ is the thing! It is the thing that guides, watches us, keeps us in the right place, at all times. This the Holy Spirit given to those who love Him.

A spirit that knows all things, before and after, a spirit that see's all things.

What is most significant, is it reveals all these things back to us, revealing the truths of His power! It is as the meat given in do time, the season is the reason, providing the life we need to fight the battle that is before us!

How merciful is God who we see, believeing that He can do, and will do all things accordingly!

Amazing grace,In and through faith, a profound faith, in what Jesus Christ has done for us!

That He would, for our sin's, die so we might know Him and these things.

If you know these things ,than you are seeing clearly, and are experiancing those things that belong to you, this thing He shares with us, His life ,found in the Father, His Holy Spirit, all these things!

If not for this imputed righteousness, we would be left to ourselves, in a spiritual confrontation that is beyond our means to effect the outcome, He wishes for those who love Him!

What we call cause and effect.

How profound are His ways past finding out! This Holy One you will not silence, He knows the very number of hairs on your beloved head! Every single hair!

    Repent and be Baptized

OOPS Lemme clear my self.....I'm not saying that the Father was his own son....Not saying that at all....As only the son died not the Father...They are 2 distinct beings just as Abraham had a son called Issac so the father God Almighty has a son Jesus....But it grows, multiplies, Issac had 2 sons Jacob and Esau....Jacob have i loved but Esau have i hated...And the 12 tribes came out of Jacob...The 3 rd person the granson ...Then the nation of Israel came outta of the 12 tribes that became as the sands of the seas in multitudes....We serve a God of multiplication....And regeneration That was the great Promise i will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven....speaking of Christ Jesus and his seed his words of that New COVENANT....Thats y the Sower has to go forth and sow his precious seed in humanity....Thats the world might birth a baby Christ an Israel of God...which is the 3 rd person the H.G. The Children of Promise....The babes and sucklings....His seed that is gonna be as the stars of heaven in multitudes.

.....A number no man can number as the stars of heaven in multitude....so shall thy seed be.

.....And we cannot forget Titus 3 :5 The regeneration of the H.G....Even the H.G. is gonna regenerate himself in humanity...Not by works of righteousness which we have done..But by the washing and regeneration of the H.G....We are gonna speak the Word making folks clean by the water of the Word....But his Words have the power to multiply, Regenerate Christ in us

Every living thing on this planet is able to multiply itself after its Kind by its seed etc...And Christ has a seed to sow its his Word thus the babes and sucklings....Our new heart and new spirit...The H.G....That New heaven and new earth....is by his Seed

......My lil Children of whom i travail in birth AGAIN till Christ is formed in you.... Gal 4 :19 kjv..AGAIN implies a 2 nd time...Bathsheba had to travail a 2 nd time b/f the great king Solomon was born that God wanted to build the temple. the granson.

I do not believe in a pre-trib. rapture. The following verse would suggest that believers will see the anti-christ which takes us through chapter 14 of Revelation. 2 Thessalonians 2 1-3,Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; It appears the saints are still on earth in Revelation 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. Maybe the reason the church isn't mentioned in Revelation is she has defiled herself with the whore of Revelation 17 & 18. Maybe just isolated pockets of believers at that time within the so called church. Remember in the first part of Revelation Jesus said he would remove their candlestick if they didn't repent. Just some thoughts.

    Okay,,,

In the end times during the great tribulation (Many) will bow to the anti-christ (Baal being a type of)pretending to be the true Christ, except for God's Very Election/The 7000 who will stand against the anti-christ,,, those who God have reserved for this very day,,, 7000 is a figure of speech, it's symbolic of the biblical number 7 which means perfection (multiplied)

Romans told you God had reserved these Election.

And in Acts 2 tells us what these Election who are alive and remain do in the end times.

since These Elect will not bow to the false messiah,,, they get delivered up unto.

These Elect in that day will be of One mind together speaking the words of the Holy Spirit, a tongue like a double edged sword that cuts both ways.

What DWL is impling is Jesus was just a man the son of God....But not God the Son....Not an ABSOLUTE SON, Not God the son....Satan is behind his post....If Jesus were not God the Son an absolute Son...Then his Blood cd not be the Atonement for the Sins of the world....They are very clever in their doctrine....These J.W. PPL.....They always start out their conversations with we believe that Jesus is the Son of God....But they donot beleive that Jesus was God the son....Then they make all kinds of derogatory remarks about his Deity....Satan knows that if he can destroy Jesus as God the son HIS DEITY ....Then his blood was only a mans blood having no Atonement Value.... Acts 20:28 Feed the Church of God that he has purchased with his own Blood...The blood of Jesus/God... Hebrews 1:8 But unto the SON he said thy throne O GOD IS FOREVER AND EVER....Don't ever think that satan is not clever....When one implies that Jesus was not an Absolute son...Not God the Son then he is impling that God neva had an ABSOLUTE SON....How sick is that....I salute Adam's post to DWL.

......Mans blood cd not atone for the sins of the world....It had to be the very blood of God ( Jesus ) Acts 20:28 ...

......Behold the lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world....John the baptist

    For what it's worth:

The correct interpretation of 1 Thessalonians 4:16 Because the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a word of command, with the voice of the archangel(Micheal)and with the last trump of God: and the dead in Christ(Those who have died and are already gone, and are with Him, those who Christ brings with) shall rise first:(shall appear first, I raise up, I raise up from among (the) dead)

17 Thereafter we which are alive and remain shall be caught up(to take by an open display of force)together with them in ... clouds(a dense crowd from the Greek word nephos), to meet the Lord in the air(the breathe of life body,,, spiritual body): and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

18 So then comfort one another with these words.

  • Chris - In Reply on 1 Thessalonians 4 - 3 years ago
Hi Theresa. I think your question relates to Hebrews 9:27, that "it is appointed unto men once to die", so if all have to first die, then how can some not experience death by virtue of the Rapture?

I understand that the Hebrews writer is emphasizing the one-time death of a person & its finality, with no further time afterwards to set the life straight before facing God's Judgement. To this end, the writer writes about Jesus suffering and dying just once (verse 26) and that our sins were borne by Him only once (verse 28), which was sufficient & acceptable to the Father & was able to fully redeem the repentant sinner. So the emphasis is not only on the one-time efficacious sacrifice of Jesus, but also that the sacrifice would never/could never be repeated. Unlike some in other Churches who through the 'sacraments' re-crucify the Lord enabling the emblems of bread & wine to be 'mystically' re-constituted into the actual body & blood of Jesus. This can never happen or else we subject Jesus "to an open shame" ( Hebrews 6:6).

So, we won't be able to "square 1 Thessalonians 4:17 with Hebrews 9:27, simply because these are two different matters. The first that living & dead believers in Christ will be caught up in the air to be with Jesus (the living not experiencing death), and the second matter, that because we are sinners & "the wages of sin is death (both physically & spiritually), then all men are subject to dying (an appointment we must all keep - unless the Lord comes first to snatch His Church away before the Wrath of God falls upon the Christ-rejecting World).

Dear "Ellen Benischek", we have come a long way in 2022. Jesus Himself spoke of it in Matthew 24. And Revelation 13 onwards you will see the prophecies come true. Also you have everyone in the new biblical age Everyone believed that Jesus would return in their own lifetime. We are so close to the Lord's Return, Lord Jesus Christ come soon. Example in 1 Thessalonians 4:17 here you can see that Paul thought Jesus would come in his own time. Now you've got some studying to do, and I'm sure someone else here on the web has some good words to share as well. Good luck and remember that God bless u, Jesus loves u and i love u in Christ. John 20
