Great replies from Chris, S Spencer, and Giannis. What comes to my mind, the scripture that agrees and tells me that when we come to the Father in a time of need, we have a mediator, a Priest who knows what we are feeling, one who has been there, one who knows what temptation feels like, one who knows the fear of death, but the only one who did it perfectly without sin.
Hebrew 4:14-16 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. 15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Jesus' prayer was answered, in Luke 22:43 just as He strengthens us when we are in need, facing things in our life we could not without Him, even if we are facing death, if we ask. I know times in my life He strengthened me and gave me the courage to endure, if not, I would not be here.
God bless,

There are various themes and messages specific to a given Psalm. We have; for instance a general comparison of the righteous to the wicked in Psalm 1; and a prophetic Psalm associated with the Lords' return in Psalm 2. We hae other Psalms related to the future such as Psalm 48 and Psalm 68; Psalms associated with the history of the Exodus as a repeated theme ( Psalm 105; 106) and the so called "imprecatory" Psalms where destruction of enemies is requested by David starting with Psalm 7. We also see Psalms such as Psalm 22 that have clear implications to Christ and His sufferings; but would also have application to David himself.
David is most commonly associated with Psalms; although others such as the sons of Korah (starting with Psalm 42); the sons of Asaph ( Psalm 50 and a couple others) and those ascribed to some other individuals. As to the order of the Psalms it appears not to be strictly chronological; and the themes appear to have repeated patterns that are not easy to define. Some are virtually identical (such as Psalm 14 and 53). We have the longest Psalm (119) which has more verses than any other scripture; also the shortest ( Psalm 117) with only two verses.
In addition there are may "acrostic" patterns where each letter of the Hebrew alphabet is sequentially starting a stanza (also seen in Psalm 119). Other patterns may not be readily identifiable but are seen in the original language.
Psalms were to originally be set to music; which up until now as far as I am aware has never been found for any of this text. We can only guess how the instruments back then which were commanded to be used (timbrel; lyre) in places such as Psalm 33 and how it would sound. Some would try to restrict Psalms as to the only music played; but Colossians 3:16 mentions spiritual songs in general. Whatever the case singing from the scriptures is certainly better than the vast amount of so called Christian music peddled today.
......My lil Children of whom i travail in birth till Christ is formed in you....Which is the H.G. his name sake Remember Jesus said the H.G will come in my name....And the FATHER will send the H.G. in my name John 14:26....Impling the H.G. is Jesus name sake will be born in us via Jesus seed....Thats y Isaiah refers to Jesus as everlasting Father....Jesus is the Father of the H.G....When jesus breathe on his disciples he was propagating very God via his seed his breath was his words his seeds etc..Thats y Peter said being bornagain of an incorruptible seed even by the words of God ( Jesus )...That liveth and abideth for ever....Living words not written words...The living words are seeds of living beings the babes and suckling he speaks of are Spirits..Thats y he said that which is BORN OF THE SPIRIT IS SPIRIT...Thats the babes and suckling that have to come in his name....Which are spirits ...Whosoever receiveth one such Child in my name receveith me which is that Child of PROMISE the H.G...Our new innerman our new heart and new spirit...Jesus is not impotent he has a seed
1 Corinthians 9:26-27
" I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I MYSELF SHOULD CASTAWAY."
Phillipians 3:12-14
"Not as though I had already attained (the prize), either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I MAY APPREHEND that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.Brethren, I COUNT NOT myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. I PRESS TOWARD THE MARK FOR THE PRIZE of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
Ephesians 5:3-6
"But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, NOR UNCLEAN PERSON, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, HATH ANY INHERITANCE in the kingdom of Christ and of God."
Ezekiel 17:24
"But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, AND IN HIS SIN THAT HE HATH SINNED, IN THEM SHALL HE DIE."
Matthew 25:1-12. The parable of the 10 virgins.
Matthew 25:14-30. The parable of the servants who were given the talents.
And so many other verses...
Not to say it's valid but it is provocative. I agree Jesus knew he was the only way and for this reason he come into the world as mentioned
John 12:27. Now is my soul troubled; and WHAT SHALL I SAY? FATHER, SAVE ME FROM THIS HOUR: but for this cause came I unto this hour.
( By this verse I don't think he was trying to get off the hook )
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I AM THE WAY, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
( By this verse he Know it was no other way)
Also
Matthew 20:28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
That's why I believe the focus is on "IF IT BE POSSIBLE,"
let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
If he prayed for an escape it seems he would contradict these other verses..
God bless
Dear Heavenly Father, we offer up before You in the name of Jesus these circumstances occurring in Leslie's life and family. Please bring a swift end to this deceptive and destructive scheming of her husband and family in being fraudulent with her identity and finances. Please bring restoration to her life, finances, and identity and justice to those who are the perpetrators in this problem Lord, help Leslie right away and make things right again for her, permanently severing her from the results of the evil actions being done to her. We trust that You will come and aid her. You are mightier that any of these people combined. You can do what seems impossible and is impossible for any of us to to do. Amen.

The viewpoint more traditionally is that there will be a rebuilt Temple (near fruition today) that will for the first part of the Tribulation involve sacrifices once again; which Antichrist will end to bring worship to himself with the image of the Beast. Ultimately; if we take the 1000 years seriously we see literal sacrifices once again during the Millennium period as Ezekiel 48 and many other passages indicate.
It would be for a memorial and ceremonial cleansing of mortal men in the physical presence of God and Resurrected saints.
We often look at salvation as we having to "GET" saved which sometimes can be looked at as something you done or played a roll in. So that may not be a great way to look at it. Because some believe you can reverse that and somehow get unsaved.
But if we truly put our trust in the life giver (Jesus) who is the author and "FINISHER" of our faith we should understand salvation is by grace and you can't work to get it and you can't work to keep it.
Ephesians 2:8-10.. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
FOR WE ARE HIS WORKMANSHIP, CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS UNTO GOOD WORKS, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
We've been given Christ spirit which seals and sanctifies us.
Are we perfect? No. So how can you loose something by being imperfect and gain it back by being imperfect.
It boils down to who are we trusting? Our imperfect walk with no redeeming qualities? Or him who says I will NEVER leave or forsake you?
SANCTIFICATION;
Salvation is secured once you "truly" receive Christ by trusting in him. That trust/faith in Christ will reflect in a believers life.
Saving faith exhibits works.
God bless
I assume that the 'guy' meant that it wasn't only Jesus' actual prayer to the Father but the recording of it for our sakes that makes it pertinent to us; i.e. so that we might learn that it could only be through the Son of God that all hope for man's reconciliation to God would be found. I would never have considered it this other way, so thanks for that. Blessings.
My understanding of the oneness of the Godhead is that they all possess to the divine nature or essence equally and infinitely. The divine nature is not something that they can get from outside of their Being. It is innate in all three Persons and everlasting. This is just like the Godhead cannot get life from outside of themself due to being self-existent. Same is true of power and knowledge and all other aspects of this one divine essence. This essence cannot be added to nor subtracted from any of the Persons of the Godhead because God possesses this essence to perfection and total completion even though there are no bounds nor limits to the infiniteness of His Being.
I concur with S.Spencer that God's essential nature is that of Pure Spirit, not being made of any particles of matter. It is only Jesus who took upon Himself humanity and therefore, His human body consists of particles of matter, like all other humans. But He did not subtract His Divinity to become man. He kept it because it is Who He is as God. But we will see Him in His humanity forever in heaven, which is the perfect image of God in man.
I hope this helps. This is a big subject. I think of how Jesus said that He and the Father are one. And I also think of how all three Persons of the Godhead are named as God in Scripture in many places. I do no know of a Scripture that easily explains how these three distinct divine Persons are One. I think it is a divine mystery revealed through Jesus but not fully explained.
......And this Isaiah 11 was written approx. 250 yrs after that Jesse,..David and Solomon had long died....But Isaiah is still using these 3 men as symbolic language for a kingdom coming the last days....And this was a Father Son and Granson type of Kingdom coming in the last days.... Isaiah 11:11 kjv....Thus an Israel of God wd have to follow soon.
..... Isaiah 11:1...There shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse which was David the son and a branch shall come out of his roots which was Solomon the Granson...ok lemme go

Revelation 1:8. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, THE ALMIGHTY.
God bless.
I accidentally sent that prematurely.
Hopefully someone can provide us a more detailed or better view of this. God bless.
I would say the spirit.
Ephesians 4:4-6. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
GOD IS A SPIRIT: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:24.
I CAME FORTH FROM THE FATHER, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father. John 16:28.
No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, WHICH IS IN THE BOSOM OF THE FATHER, he hath declared him. John 1:18.
God is spirit, Jesus came forth from that Spirit, and we are baptized by that spirit.
John 17:22-23. ppAnd the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
.......And the Heavenly Trinity is also Father ,Son and Granson....And they are all 3 related in the Spirit but 3 distinct beings....And out of the Kingdom will come 12 manner of fruit...Rev.22:2...Which answers to the 12 tribes in the spritual realm....Thus an Israel of God that is gonna be as the stars in Heaven in multitudes....The very fact that we have a father and a Son Begs the question of a Granson....And 12 manner of fruit from the KiNGDOM....An Israel of God that are Spirits that is gonna be born in humanity....I Will pour out of my Spirit on all flesh....Everybody is gona get a seed The Living word and is a living being the Children of Promise....Thats y Jesus was saying if i tell you of earthy things and you believe not how shall i tell you of heavenly things....Everything thing in the O.T. was just a shadow of things in the N.T.
......The H.G. the Granson cannot be born in us unless Jesus sows his good seed in us....Thats y Isaiah refers to Jesus as everlasting FATHER....Jesus is able and willing to propagate, and Regenerate himself in humanity via his seed ...Thats y he has to KNOW us....Thus there is a 3 rd PERSON THE H.G. the Granson...Jesus is not impotent he wants to sow his good seed in humanity....Thats y Jeremiah saw all men in travail and birth pains....There is a baby Christ in our future which is the H.G. That Child of PROMISE....Thats y Elijah has to come in that last day and turn the hearts of the FATHERS to the Children....The babes and sucklings he mentioned....That New Born Babe DESIRING THE SINCERE MILK OF WORD...is the H.G. THE CHILD of Promise...
Isaiah 7:14. Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Also Matthew 1:20-23. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
I hope this helps.
God bless.

At the end of His prayer Jesus asked God NOT to do according to Jesus' Will but according to His own Will. Matthew 26:39 "...nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt."
So it is not a matter of faith but a matter of asking something that is according to God's Will. And His Will was that Jesus was going to be sacrificed for the salvation of people. So in that sence God answered Jesus' prayer.
1 John 5:14
"And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing ACCORDING TO HIS WILL, he heareth us:"
