Praise the LORD for all the comforting words of wisdom declared and shared on this forum. It is good to know that brethren exist and are active in every avenue of worship and praise unto the LORD JESUS CHRIST. It is like traveling- no matter where I go I can be assured there will be body of believers singing the praises of the LORD; preaching the Word of GOD; and I will comforted and allowed to be amongst them.

Let us extend our faith and knowledge of the LORD by praying and calling on GOD for HIS hand upon our current leadership in Washington. Our trust in Scripture and obedience to the same will bring about change as GOD, the LORD JESUS CHRIST see best for our times. May we lay aside every weight, especially the sin before us, and "let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Looking unto JESUS the author and finisher of our faith;..." Hebrews 12: 1b, 2a

So much before us to pray for and be active in; there is much we can do in HIS name. Let us start from the beginning: Romans 10: 9, 10; Ephesians 2: 8-10; Matthew 28: 18-20; 2 Chronicles 7:14, 15; 2 Peter 3:9; 1 Timothy 2: 1-5; 2 Peter 1: 1-8. Many more passages, I'm sure you can add to the list, Amen!

Some believe and many Catholic s believe Jesus is God and also Mary is the mother of God , that's one reason they pray to Mary .

They have made both Idols. And fail to recognize Jesus is Gods Son sent to do Gods work as messiah, The Christ.

My personal belief is no, but that doesn't mean animals and pets aren't very special and loved. All animals are well designed and serve important roles, but I think mankind is extra special. He gave us freewill, not just acting on instinct and we're not just robots or puppets. We also have an extra burden of responsibility. We haven't seen zebras or donkeys making airplanes and spaceships and internet, but only mankind. God made is very different than all other animals and the soul and freewill is one of the key distinctions, in my opinion. But this opinion isn't based much on scripture because I'm not aware of any scripture referencing this topic. I did an advanced search for such a topic and found some discussing ot, but not sure if this is helpful. God bless. Link

Hi Bradley. That's an archaic word for 'diverse'. Therefore, that verse speaks about 'various' diseases.

It is our Christian duty to belong to the fellowship of providing for the poor saints at Jerusalem, so why are we not???

Well the scriptures are your answer , I'd recommend reading the psalms of David , a few verses " search my heart oh God and see if there be any wicked way in me "

It's only sin that separates us from God . So whole heartedly pray to God in Jesus name to reveal the problem , then repent of it forsake it and do Gods will .

David's experience of God was inspiring for me to read in the psalms as well .

God said David was a man after his own heart , wow what a compliment. Yet David fell into sin and had to repent . And was restored to God but not without consequences.

Here we see Job wishes he was never born.

Job 3:12-19. Why did the knees prevent me? or why the breasts that I should suck?

Here's verse 14 which is in questioning. Let's take it with verse 13.

With kings and counsellors of the earth, which built desolate places for themselves;)

Job pictures death as annihilating, All sleep equally in the grave. Kings, counsellors and prisoners and servants. ect..

I believe the water here is the word of God.

John 15:3. Now ye are clean through the WORD which I have spoken unto you.

Ephesians 5:26. That he might sanctify and cleanse it WITH THE WASHING OF WATER BY THE WORD,

1 Peter 1:23. Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, BY THE WORD OF GOD, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Thank you, Giannis, in stating that the Holy Spirit is a distinct person, not a force. He is One in Essence with the Father and the Son in the divine Being of the Godhead and also a distinct Person of the Godhead along with the Father and the Son. He has all of the nature of God infinitely in all of God's perfections. He has a mind, a will, emotions, sense of Who He is in relation to Himself, the Father, the Son, and creation. He is relational, as is the Father and the Son and all three in regards to each other, and also with spiritual beings and humans He created by His power through the word of the Son according to the will of the Father. Our God is so very great and full of splendor. He is dishonored when one refers to the Spirit as an inanimate force. So, again thanks for glorifying God in your post.

The Holly Spirit is also called "Comforter or Advocate or Helper", also 'Spirit of Truth", "Spirit of Power" also "Spirit of Christ" and many other. It is a person, not a thing, not an impersonal power that some claim

No information is given in the Gospels. But since He started His ministry when He was about 30 years old, a good assumption is that He lived as an ordinary man among His people in His town without showing any extraordinary powers. When the right time came, He went to be baptized in water by John the Baptist and so He started His ministry on earth.

It means to be born again. About the "water"

there are different beliefs among christians about the meaning. The ones I am aware of are:

1. It means the water of baptism. So a person is born again when they get baptized in water.

2. It means the Word of God which is often represented by water in the scriptures ( my belief as well). So when one hears the Word of God, which is an "active" word, and accepts it in their heart and repents and want to change then they get born again by the Spirit of God.

No the Holly Spirit has not any name.

You must know that God's names have a descriptive purpose. They represant a characteristic of God. God from the very beginning used names for Himself in order to reveal Himself (or His character) to people. So the Hebrew "YAHWEH" means the "existing God", "ADONAI" means "Lord or Master", "SABAOTH" means "Lord of powers" and so on. In the New Testament now His name is "FATHER", because we are born again by Him and so we become His children and He becomes our Father. So the Spirit of God is simply called that, or Holly Spirit. Also "JESUS" means "God is salvation" in Hebrew.

We have much to rejoice in the LORD. For the LORD has given us a look at what is before our own country at this time. This being October 10, 2022. We have gone our own way and expect GOD'S blessings. We have allowed "strange" children in our midst because of our tolerance and desire to "live together." The framers of our country would say to us - we need to get back to our foundational roots that gave us our nation in GOD in the first place.

The framers and especially the Word of GOD told us that "the people perish because of lack of knowledge." Hosea 4:6; Proverbs 29:18

Our children have been out of school too long; and if they are in school, they are being taught ungodly things. We must seek the LORD diligently and faithfully. As Hosea writes and admonishes us to seek the LORD quickly while HE may yet be found.

Let us pray for the leadership of our nation for they have changed our boundaries, not the physical landmarks but the spiritual lines given by our GOD and Savior. Changing the boundaries between right and wrong; between true and false religion. Too many of the up coming generation are strangers to the LORD'S truth and HIS ways.

Let us call on the LORD as HIS word tells too. 2 Chronicles 7:14, 15; 1 Timothy 2:1-5; Colossians 3: 1-10

Yes Gale... i believe the H.G. has a name...Its Emanuel God with us...Jesus said when he the spirit of truth ( the H.G. ) is come he will abide with you for ever... John 14:16...And John 16 :13...Thus his true name wd have to be Emanuel which is God with us...And Jesus said this spirit of truth Which is the manchild the H.G. Our spritual offspring that is gonna rule all nations can only be born in us via his seed HIS word...And thats y he is saying to whom the word came the living word..( his seed ) it made them Gods and the scripture cannot be broken...In that Jesus says the Spirit of truth cannot speak of himself implied he is just an infant...That which is BORN of the spirit is spirit...An infant.. but he is lord of all according to Gal 4:1...In time...Till the time appointed of the father...But the H.G. is God that has to be born in us via the seed of Jesus...Thats y he has to know us...

The verse in 1 Thessalonians 5:22 tells us to abstain from every form of evil (or even the appearance of evil in some translations). When we were new parents, we took this verse seriously for the raising of our children. We just couldn't bear the thought of purposely introducing them to evil or causing them to engage in evil. We were very conscious of Jesus' words concerning causing a child to stumble (that it would be better for us to tie a millstone around our necks and be drowned in the sea). ( Matthew 18:6)

So, we would not let them have anything to do with witches, sorcery, magic, evil depictions of occultic characters, etc. in what we read to them or what they viewed. We did not let them act out scenario's as any of these identities. It was sometimes tough when neighbors and such would engage in such play and they would not be able to do so. It was uncomfortable for me to explain to these kids parents why we do not engage in such things. My kids eventually grew to resent that we took a hard stance on this. Nevertheless, we knew we would be required to give an account to God for our parenting. We do not regret our choices on this matter. We do believe that eventually our sons will understand how right we were when they come back around from being prodigals and then parent the children God will give them.

It is not always easy nor popular to do things God's way and avoid the things He says to avoid. Evil is the main thing we are to avoid because it is deadly to those who participate in it in any way. Obedience to God is what we were made to do. He deserves it from us. We should love good as He does and hate evil as He does. This is a big part of what it means to be Christ-like.

Animals/souls?

Not so much of a comment but a Question ...... What are the dangers of allowing Harry Potter entertainment into our Christian Homes when it is the appearance of Witchcraft and Scripture is quite clear what God feels about Witchcraft. Are we allowing satan a place at the table when we encourage our families to engage in Harry Potter ? What seeds are we planting in our children and what kind of harvest can we expect if it is encouraged in our Christian homes?
