Here you see how important the Name of Jesus anointed has become for all deeds.! for Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

It is obvious they did not believe the Name of Jesus anointed was important in all their works and deeds performed. It proves here that they failed to use the Name in one or more of their works or DEEDS. I could make it easier but am not permitted to do so here. That's why the word requires we study to find the whole truth. Seek and you will find
  • Jon on Matthew 7:22 - 5 years ago
The subject is the Name. All of a sudden they become aware how important the Name of Jesus anointed really is in all works or deeds! Get it? These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. John 3:18 .... he hath not believed in the Name!

Focus should be on where we are going and not where we are coming from. Dont focus on the Egypt that God took you out of but the promised land you are going to. If you think so much of Egypt, you will return as the Israelites desired. Set your affections on things above Col. 3:1

When Jesus spoke these words to Saul, Jesus saw a man who was a leader in the Jewish hierarchy, well-versed in the Scriptures & zealous for the things of God. But Jesus, whom Saul persecuted by hunting down & murdering Christians, was telling him that even with all his knowledge & zeal, he was fighting against God & His Holy Commands. "You think you are for God but actually you are against Him".

So Jesus uses a term that Saul would be familiar with, as when an ox herder would use a goad (long stick with a sharp point) to keep his oxen in check. If the ox wanted to disobey its master, he would then feel the piercing & pain of the goad. The "prick" that Jesus spoke of, was this truth: that Saul was trying all his life to kick (or, forcing his own ways/beliefs) against the "real" Truths from God, but now Saul was being confronted by the resurrected Christ & all Saul's obstinacy & rebellion would no longer work because God's "pricks" were now before Him & they can't be avoided. The time had come for him to realize this & truly submit to God: which he did in all his trembling & brokenness.

  • Chris - In Reply on Jude 1:8 - 5 years ago
Jude, in this passage was writing in condemnation of those who perverted the Truths of God & that we Christians should recognize them & to "earnestly contend for our faith". He speaks of the history of the Israelites who were saved from Egypt but many of them sinned later in various ways ( Jude 1:5); of the angels who left their first estate (Heaven), who sinned & are now held in chains awaiting judgement (v 6); of Sodom & Gomorrah who were given to licentious behaviour & homosexuality, now awaiting their doom in hell fire (v 7).

So, in like manner (v 8), these "filthy dreamers" (those men of verse 4, "who crept (into their fellowship) unawares"), also preach similar errors, who despise authority & governments & speak evil of things they are ignorant of (v 10). So, "dreamers" are people that have imagined themselves to be persons of great knowledge or reputation & so having a 'godly' authority to bring 'God's message', which of course was not so & contrary to Scriptural Truths. Today, we might tell someone to "dream on", if they come to us with some outlandish statement or belief that something wonderful is going to happen to them. These dreamers (& "filthy" is not in the original text but an adjective to describe their similarity to the other wicked people mentioned), were bringing messages coming from their carnal minds & hearts of pride, rather than Scriptural based.

    Jeremiah ch 28 v 9

The prophet which prophesieth of peace , WHEN THE WORD OF THE PROPHET SHALL COME TO PASS , then shall the prophet be known , that the LORD hath truly sent him .

    Deuteronomy Ch 18 v 21,22

When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD , of the thing follow not , nor come to pass , that is the thing that the LORD hath not spoken ....

Matthew 24 v 11 And many false prophets shall rise , and shall deceive many .

This is before the Antichrist comes on the scene . So we have had them for a while now .

The pretrib Rapture and all the doctrine associated with it are false as can be .

They have been passing the torch from one prophet to another since about mid 1800s

Saying the Lord will come in a secret Rapture possibly this day ! Some even setting dates , yes I remember seeing billboards not long ago . Mr Camping or something like that .

So you Rapture people believe it could be immediately any time now is that right .

Jesus gave signs to look for as the disciples asked them , but you ignore them .

I just have one question ? How many times can you be wrong ?

Let's just do the last 10 years .

    That's 3650 times wrong !

Yes Jesus is coming again but you certainly have not a clue , I can guarantee it's not going to happen in 2020 .

    Rapture Doctrine debunked again .

Interestingly, authors sometimes use the 'third person' rather than the 'first person' nouns or pronouns. We can see it in Numbers 12:1-4 when Moses uses it in his writing. Also, John 13:23, John was speaking about himself as the "disciple whom Jesus loved". Jeremiah 1:1: "The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah" but in Jeremiah 2:1, he says "the Word of the Lord came to me". And Paul in 2 Corinthians 2:2, "I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago", referring to himself.

So, it's not unusual for authors to write in the first or third person, but the reason they do it can be varied. Maybe, they prefer that style, or to keep the focus on another in some special context, or even to avoid being too forward in their writing by using the first person pronoun. And then again, these same authors can revert to the first person elsewhere, so we can't judge them without knowing their purpose for doing so but as long as we can understand & appreciate the message they gave.

Yes indeed: it's the Living Word of God, i.e. the words are from God & they come alive to our hearts so we can know God & His Purposes for us. Keep reading, Sanaytrah, asking God to help you understand & to apply it to your life where needed. It contains the words of life - words that tell us how to come out of the darkness of our minds & hearts, into His glorious Light & to the saving of our souls. May you enjoy reading it & come to understanding of its message for you.

Jesus has one body. He came down from heaven with that body and went back to heaven with that body. Go look in the tomb where He was buried after the cross. He's not there. Some did go and look and He was not there. They did see Him after He rose from the dead. But that tomb is empty to this day.

If anyone is interested. Another site that is a great tool, tons of information, to see the actual words of the Bible from the original Hebrew(Old Testament) or Greek(New Testament). As It has every word in the Bible. Just type any verse, or word, in the search bar. It will come up with every word our "English" translation came from. Clicking on the Strongs number gives great info about each word. Shows how well the KJV is to the original Hebrew or Greek Scriptures.

word rapture is not in the bible BUT that don't mean it is not real. When all believers meet Jesus in the clouds is what we believe to be the rapture. Just because the word is not in the bible don't mean it is not true.

John 3:16 is the clearest verus in the bible. Don't add anything to it and you have a perfect verus and can't be disputed.
  • Stanjett - In Reply on 1 Thessalonians 4:17 - 5 years ago
No. It means you are saved right then. Not later. You do not have to do anything else. ( you will, but you don't have to.) Some say you have to be babtized. You do but not to be saved. You are already saved before you are babtized. After you are saved you will do what He says to do, like being babtized and follow Him.

David & Solomon would have known the requirements of Deuteronomy 17:14-20 especially & as well, 1 Samuel 13:14 does show God's own selection for Israel's next king, but the fact of the matter is that David failed God in many respects. He was still the chosen one, yet still human with failings, but God could find the qualities in David that were absent in Saul. David's disobedience through a multiplicity of wives, & desire for Bathsheba in particular, brought on the required sorrow & discipline.

There are both fine godly men & women in the Church today. True, we are also products of our cultures, environments, & circumstances, but those who are truly walking in the Spirit & filling themselves with the Word of God, are continually subject to His directions & the proper thoughts & decisions they have to make.

Both men & women need to shoulder the blame where wrong has been committed since we have departed by not applying the Word to our lives. We might expect our wives to be submissive to us, but we fail to singularly & passionately love our wives & see to their needs. If the modern wife disregards her position then either she is re-interpreting the Word to suit, or the husband has failed in his calling to love her. Those constantly walking in the Spirit are those who are constantly sensitive to the Lord & to each other in marriage.

God the Father, Jesus the son, and the Holy ghost is a trinity. Three in one. Its not a couple or four or any other number. It's three in one. Sometimes we got to use our common sense. The word rapture is not in the bible either. Don't mean it is not true.

  • Chris - In Reply on Luke 11 - 5 years ago
Dylan, you've touched on several aspects of God's dealing with us.

Firstly, when the Bible speaks of 'election' it means that God had in the distant past selected those that would be His children, receive His favour & partake of His Kingdom. Israel is said to be His elect (e.g. Isaiah 45:4) & now those also who have now come to Him for salvation through Jesus Christ His Son (e.g. Colossians 3:12). So if a person does not fall into those categories (i.e. Israel & those born again of God's Spirit), they are not classified as the Elect of God. If a person leads a good life & is generous with his goods to others, this still does not make him acceptable to God, since not one person, bar Christ, was ever good enough to please God ( Romans 3:10, 23).

Now, there's another word similar in meaning to 'election', & that is 'predestination'. These words are almost interchangeable except 'predestination' is used exclusively to born again believers who have been predestined (again, we were appointed before time), to partake in the adoption process. That is, believers might have been elected to be partakers of Kingdom Life, but we have also been appointed to go through the adoption process whereby God, in Love & Mercy, takes someone not in His original family & brings him into His family because of his faith in Jesus Christ. (see Ephesians 1:5, 11). So as a result of our adoption, our predestination into God's Family includes that we don't have Hell as our destiny, but Heaven.

The Bible doesn't speak of any other place where people who die can go to, except Heaven or Hell. Some religions teach falsely of an intermediary place (e.g. purgatory), for a period of further cleansing so as to enter Heaven, but Jesus always taught that there are only two places ( Matthew 18:1-11, for an example of either entering Heaven or Hell). And the decision we make on Earth now determines where our eventual destiny will be. Some mistakenly believe they are on the right way but..for Proverbs 14:12.
