  • Spirit of Adoption - In Reply on Matthew 24 - 5 years ago
    Psalm 27:10

When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.

    Romans 8:15

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

    Ephesians 1:5

Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to HIMSELF, according to the good pleasure of his will,

    Sacha, 'Abba' means Daddy :)

After I left home, I gravitated to things I saw my Aunt do (occult). I wanted to know why I had so much trouble in relationships and I got into astrology. My Christian grandmother would write me love letters about Jesus. She died. Years later I was saved supernaturally. After my Dad died, I felt so adrift with pain of loss.

One night I had a dream. I saw Jesus's nailed to the cross on the ground. He looked into my eyes with so much love. I was angry because he had taken 2 people I loved so much. I picked up a rock and then I hit the nails in his hands. Every time I struck him, he would say, I Love You. I finally dropped the rock and fell over his chest and he held me. The dream ended.

I never felt abandoned again. I know I am loved perfectly, completely and forever.

You can have that too. There's a scripture about the spirit of adoption that will bless you. "When my father and mother abandon me; the Lord will take me up. He steps in to be the parent we don't have anymore. Your inheritance is in Jesus. Let go of your Dad. Let Jesus be your Daddy now. He is Lord of all. But he knows that we need a Dad in our daily lives: for a hug, counsel, direction, caution; ideas how to do things we can't manage.

He cares about us. You'll always have Him. You may drift sometimes, but He never turns away from us. Lean into Him and let Him heal your heart and memories.

He is as close, as we can accept.

You are His child now. I rejoice with you!

    Thank you

    Hi butch,

you say: "yes the person can be saved and be lost if he turned his back on god" i agree!

thank god we have such a great shepherd in our lord jesus christ that want let that happen!!!

the shepherd job is to care for the sheep and ( make sure they dont get lost in the wilderness by wondering.)

    john 10:11

i am the good shepherd: ( the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.)

with that being said i feel secure the "good shepherd" will do his job!!

    how will he do that?

    john 10:7-9.

then said jesus unto them again, verily, verily, i say unto you, i am the door of the sheep.

all that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.

i am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

jesus says he is the door of the sheep, there is only one door! you came in by jesus, "you have to slip by him to get lost".

    john 10:27-28.

my sheep hear my voice, and i know them, and they follow me:

and i give unto them eternal life; ( and they shall never perish,) neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

:no man shall pluck them out of my hand is one thing, " they shall never perish' is another!!

no man shall pluck them out his hand, is because they want follow no one but jesus. ( they hear his voice and wont follow strangers.

they shall never perish covers broader protection, he want let them wonder off, get lost,

"he holds them in his hand"!!!

sheeps gets lost by nature, they cant keep they self safe.

thats the shepherds job. and they dont loose they sheep (( because they follow him ))!!!

and this is the work of the holy spirirt!!!

    god bless.

Dear Jose , my guess is that if Gods Holy Spirit is talking to you ,you will absolutely definately know about it ,i dont think there would be any doubt ,have you ever read in the Bible that any of the profits werent sure about who was talking to them ?
  • Richard in Christ - In Reply on Matthew 24 - 5 years ago
    Hi Jose,

Seeing your question I can only give my own experiences. As I would say it is a bit personal.

So as I'm sure we all get goose bumps when we get cold. First the shiver then the feeling going out to your limbs creating the goose bumps.

First of all that was the only way I ever got "goose bumps" my whole life. After giving myself to the Lord and my life changing through amazing experiences. I know now when the Holy Spirit gets invigorated in me. First off is "when" I get this feeling in my body. Either if speaking to others about the Lord or Holy Bible, after prayer, while praising the Lord, casting out devils, etc, a tingling feeling flows throughout my body giving "goose bumps". Though it is not the natural because it is not from temperature or a "shiver". It comes when the Spirit is invigorated because of things that pertain to the Lord.

Again as this is kind of a personal thing and other people may have different experiences. Though seeing your question I just thought sharing my experiences with you may help you understand, or differentiate, the feelings of the Spirit of the Lord.

    God Bless.

  • S Spencer - In Reply on Romans 3:30 - 5 years ago
    Thanks Brother Chris,

It is amazing that you have the gospel layed out through out the all 66 books.

    John 5:39-40.

Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

    HEBREWS 10:7-10.

Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

    Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;

Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

    God bless.

Hello S Spencer ,i am far too mistrustfull of my own sinfull nature , Jeremiah ch17 v9 ,my guide is definately the words in the Bible ,the words of God and the words of Jesus ,i can see them in print and know they are eternaly true , if the Holy Spirit ever told you to do something that was in oposition to what has been written for us and preserved for us in the Bible ,would you do it ? Im guessing and hoping not ,that heart that Jeremiah talks about isnt the devils ,its ours , Genesis ch8 v21 , Numbers ch15 v30&31 , i am sure some one will accuse me of speaking against the Holy Spirit but i shant take offence and i dont mean to offend ,its just that i believe that God gave us the Bible to instruct and guide us closer to Him and my own sinfull nature is not to be trusted but Gods Word will never steer me wrong .

Mishael ,so you had a good teacher in your own dad ? Thats good ,my dad was a horror ! Some people that come on here might say that my dad was possessed by a demon but i think he was just a very nasty man ,i am convinced that Jesus intervined and saved me and my life from my dad more than once ,eventually he went to prison and my mum and i were able to escape from him , its very very easy for me to think of God as my Father as my own biological one wasnt a good one and he was out of my life by the time i was 7 years old ,i meant what i said Mishael ,you are a blessing for your children and they are most fortunate to have you ,i bet they love the bones of you as we say in england .

  • Suziq - In Reply on 2 Timothy 2 - 5 years ago
Hello Adam ,Genesis ch4 tell us of Cains murder of Abel ,its only my opinion ,it seems to me that Cain was jealous / envious because God had respect towards Abels offering and Cains offering was inferior ,i think its worth noting that when God gave the statutes regarding sacrifices to Moses that God commanded thet everone should offer the same things ,thereby ensuring that no one felt inferior or superior because they were able to and did offer more or less that was required ,therefore no one could be jealous or proud regarding their offerings to God . No hard feelings between brethren ,which is nice .

Faithfulness is the nature of God; what He says, what He promises, He stands by it to perform it. He never fails.
  • Chris - In Reply on Revelation 1 - 5 years ago
Steve, I think you may be thinking of a couple of Scripture portions here. The first one is in Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39, and the other, Revelation chapter 20. You would need to read right through those chapters if you want to learn the detail of them.

In Ezekiel 38:2-4, the verses are, "Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords".

In Revelation 20:8, "And (Satan) shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea."

These portions speak of the future battle of Armageddon, with the Ezekiel chapters giving much more detail. The only problem however, is that to put Russia into that list of warring nations against Israel, can only be speculation, as those are very old names (Gog, Magog, Meshech & Tubal) that historians have been unable to accurately correlate to our modern nations/cities.

  • David on Deuteronomy 4:39 - 5 years ago
Many are still ignorant with regards to their relationship to the Lord God, Jesus Christ. The difference is simply why and how you live. I trust and obey the Scripture because the Lord saved me unto good works. Ephesians 2: 8-10. The Key is that I am already saved so I work. Why? To show My Lord and Saviour that I love Him. I work because I am saved, Not to get saved

What was the purpose of Moses in the Bible
  • Chris - In Reply on Romans 3:30 - 5 years ago
I liked what you wrote brother: "The Jews faith looked ahead. The Gentiles faith looks behind."

And yet, the faith that they (the Jews) should have had 'looking ahead' was lacking in so many of them. So the Hebrews writer could say "For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them (the Israel under Moses: Hebrews 3 & by extension to the unbelieving Jew of the NT): but the word preached did not profit them, not being MIXED WITH FAITH in them that heard it. ( Hebrews 4:2).

And that Gospel, even though unknown at that time under Moses as we know it now, was indeed the Gospel, since it had its roots in the sacrificial performances that pointed to Christ Who fulfilled them as God's appointed sacrificial Lamb. Yet those sacrifices (& God's Word) did not profit them because of their lack of faith, just as the Sacrifice of Jesus has no profit to anyone who comes to Him without faith.

Thank you for those added thoughts, brother.

    Fili Chu Ling,

We don't know what those seven things were because John did not write them down.

It says, And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write it down: That is, write down what they were saying.

And I (John) heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.

So John wasn't allowed to write down what the seven thunders said.

This also tells us ways in which God works with us. He doesn't tell us everything because we're not ready for everything.

Jesus told the disciples that there are many things I have to say to you, but you don't understand them now.

God chooses not to reveal things to us at times because we're just not ready for it. And here's God telling John to seal up that which you heard.
