    True, Bennymkje,

The tree was truly good, but the evil came with the disobedience along with the condemnation.

Everything God created in the Garden was good, except Satan when He entered the physical realm in order to corrupt mankind made in Gods' image.

    Gerald,

    Pt. 2

Those God does not elect are said to be created for the glory of His judgment and wrath in Roma. 9:22. However, there is a difference between the elect and the non-elect. The elect are elected to salvation and glory and all of the election is of God and none can be attributed to man. But with those who God does not give grace and mercy, He judges as being the recipients of His wrath and condemnation and this condemnation is attributed to the sinner as what he has earned.

So, if God in eternity past decreed to elect those whom He would save in Christ and to not elect others to be saved in order that He could act upon His mercy and grace along with His power and wrath as stated in Romans 9, then placing the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the garden was something He ordained in eternity past as well in order to consign all to disobedience through Adam's sin as Rom. 11:32 says, in order for God to give mercy to all of the elect, either Jew or Gentile (which is whom Paul is speaking of in this chapter).

So, this is why I believe that God ordained for all humans to be sinners as a result of ordaining Adam and Eve to sin against His sole commandment He had given to them concerning the trees of the Garden. They had a multitude of choices as to what trees they could eat from, but they chose to eat from the one He forbade them to eat from. they had so man other options of other trees whose fruit was available to them. But God set the Garden up this way specifically for Adam to fall into sin for the greater good of all of the elect needing to be redeemed by God's grace alone and not by anything in elect persons or in what they do.

When this question was posed, it was open to anyone explaining their beliefs. All on here can do that. This is what I did and I have explained and supported my belief Scripturally. Others can do the same. I welcome it, in fact.

    Dear Gerald,

I understand that there are several differing beliefs concerning election and reprobation. I am aware that there differing beliefs about why God allowed man to fall (or Satan, for that matter). I thank you for your thoughts on this matter.

KScott asked for an explanation of why God placed the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the Garden of Eden.

I explained my view according to what I know of what Scripture teaches.

I welcome your input on why God did this.

Romans chapter 9 has been a Scripture passage that addresses the issues of election and reprobation. The Holy Spirit speaks things in this chapter that are very difficult for people to accept (myself included). Paul even posits the accusations against this doctrine that would most likely come up among believers and explains why these accusations, primarily against God's character and sovereignty are incorrect. Coming to grips with this Scripture passage after years of it giving me pause to question its teaching has surprisingly given me great peace because I realize that it isn't my place to question what God has sovereignly decreed, ordained, and willed. I had to come to agree that this teaching about God electing some and not all truly is the wisest way for God to deal with sinful humans. I also have had to come to terms with God's divine right to do as He pleases in all matters. If He chose to show mercy to some and harden others, that is His prerogative as the Creator, Righteous Judge, Savior, and All-Wise God.

Rom. 9 clearly states that election is not dependent upon anything a person does, believes, or wills-it is based, rather, on God's eternal counsel, will, and pleasure. See Eph. 1. Romans 9 does teach that God elects some and not others and that only those who He wills to have mercy on will be saved and those He does not, He hardens. That is pretty harsh, but the text does say that God doesn't save all. See pt. 2

God referred to the death of his soul, Gerald. What was Adam but created in 'our image'? What was he 'after our likeness' but a living soul? The Word set Eve as the body of Christ. So the deep sleep of Adam foreshadows the death of the Son on the cross.

God did not have to breathe into Eve to make a living soul. The creation of Adam compares with Christ as the only begotten Son meaning he was the Word become flesh. Here what was the significance of the blood? In the eternal Covenant is signed by the blood. The Lamb slain before the foundation implies blood shed on the cross: 'for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul."(Lev.17.11) Adam waking up declares she is the bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. God closed the flesh and it tells uus that there is none other than Jesus."for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."(Acts.4.12) The Word is settled forever in the heavens so in the Will of God it is as good as done.

All judgment is given to the Son. The day is yet to come.

Soul of Eve was already in Adam who is after his likeness so the Spirit gives us a dry run of Jesus Christ. "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."(Jn.10.10)

Jesus said " Sin must come but woe unto him by whom it comes"

We must be careful to attribute to God that which is not of God.

While it is true only God is incorruptible that does not mean God willed or as you put it ordained that man should be corrupted .For why then did God reveal HIS will that man should NOT be corrupted for God has declared "Man shall not live by bread alone but by every Word that proceedeth from the mouth of God " thus God revealed HIS eternal will to Man and to us that HIS eternal will was that man shouid LIVE and not die .

Conformed by Moses .I put before you this day life and death " and if yiur unsure what Gods will was and is " choose life!"

Or of Jesus who said the devil has come but to steal to kill and to destroy but I have come that you might have LIFE and life more abundantly" and many more .

So we cannot say it was God will that man should perish!

In that God gave His Word so that they could resist the devil and the temptation is clear . That the first Adam did not does not change the fact of Gods righteousness throughout .

In truth " the arm of flesh will fail you"

I don't pretend to understand the great and deep workings of God ,but I reject utterly the idea that Gods will was otherwise than what he stated . To think otherwise would make God a liar .Which he is not nor was not nor ever will be .

But I do know the law of God that states every seed will bring forth fruit after its own kind " Which is why we are Mankind not an ape kind .

But there is also the " seed of the serpent " as well as the seed of the woman" it wouod be absurd to think God does not know the biology of his own creation but wishing to show that this One male child born of a woman would not be of Adams seed He said " the seed of the woman" .

In THAT God was and is always Sovereign and worketh all things accirding to His will .

For what shall we liken the kingdom of God"?
  • Gerald - In Reply - 1 year ago
For the record : Every single person born of Adams seed is doomed to spend eternity in hell. There is not one person ever born who did not deserve to do so .

Those who think they were elected by some internal merit or virtue others did not are deluded .

But to all and to any who claim they are even truly elected then take note for it is written " make your election sure!"

Is it not also written there are days coming that will be so wicked and deceitful that " if it was possible even the VERY elect will be deceived "

The called . The chosen . The elect and the very elect .

Many are called but few are chosen .

Every true BORN child of God is called to that " high calling" the Bride of Christ .

But to be born again simply qualifies us to" run the race" it does not win us the prize .

To be BORN again it simply to get out of Egypt by the blood of a lamb ,the Word of God and the Power of God . Then the wilderness is where we are tried tested and proved it is boot camp! Where civilians are turned into soldiers .

It took them just over two YEARS to get to the promised land . The church has made te wandering inthe wilderness fir 40 years the Christian norm!

What does it say concerning the Bride ? She will come out of the wilderness terrible as an army with banners leaning upon her beloved"

Paul warns us not to be like them that " entered not in because of unbelief" unbelief is not just not be.ye ing God it is believing another ( wrong) message !

He expected them to be ready but only TWO were .( so God was justified in thinking they shouid have been)

Gen.1.1 states God's Will as perfect, requiring no correction. The rest of the chapter is leading to the Covenant in seven days which is Person specific. So the blessings assures any believer who is created after our image and after our likeness. Annotation of heaven and earth you find in Heb.11.3.

The Son makes the unseen world appear refers why the earth was without form and void. The Word is a sound which has gone forth and heard Rom.10.16-17 "Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world." Framing is in the sense word-wide web. Parable of the Dragnet is about a selection and discard what is bad. The seven days set by the Word or Law of the Spirit does not change.

The Word is a sign so Christ as the Mediator between the heavens and the earth gives us two limits within which we have our being. World of the Spirit and our physical bodies. The firmament is vital for the narrative as Christ come from the east leading to Armageddon.

I recommend you red the biography of John Bunyan . Any man will have a ' struggle' with salvation in truth it is impossible without the grace of God . But take comfort from this if you will . " God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to a knowledge of the truth "

In that GOd saud " all" no one is excluded ll are included .

Therefore if you are sincerely wrestling with getting or coming to a knowledge of the truth you can ask God Almighty to help you do so nd if any man pray he must believe that God is and that He is a rewarder of the. That DILIGENTLY seek Him"

Praying thus in accordance with His will ( you come to a knowledge of the truth) you know that he hears you and thus will be answered .

Keep on knocking keep on seeking t for seek and you shall find knock and the door shall be opened unto you "

It is they who hunger and thirst after righteousness shall be filled .

And read the Bible prayerfully start with the gospel of John .

John Bunyan had great struggles also but Godwas and is faithful who promised .

As I said " Man shall not live by every tree that was good to eat but by that word that came from Gods mouth as to what was good to eat and what was in effect evil to EAT .

It was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil .

God Himself told them or gave them his knowledge as to what was good to eat and what was evil to eat and by His knowledge they lived .

And God said ".. for in the day you eat of it you shall surely die" .

The devil changed the truth " you shall surely die" into a lie by simply adding NOT " ye shall not surely die ".

But before that Eve had accepted the character assignation of God by the serpent . In so doing it opened the door to the insinuated lie .

In believing the lie she rejected the truth and in so doing became blind to the truth that it was evil to eat and wouid bring her death .

So it was then so it is now for the serpent still adds or subtracts from the Word of God turning it into a lie .

Not that the truth is changed but people are deceived .

When he tempted the ?ord in the wilderness he omitted or took the scripture out of context .It is interesting to note the irate temptation was like unto the very first in the garden but whereas the first Adam failed in a paradise the last conquered ( for a season) in a wilderness .

Now take note when the serpent said you shall not surely die after they had eaten they ' lived' for another 800 odd years but whereas before life reigned now death reigned but God had created man with so much life it took over 800 years for death to manifest itself . And indeed their eyes were opened but not in the way they thought or were ked to beeline for they did not become " like God" but more akin to the devil .

    Children of darkness .

When Baalam could not curse the children of Isreal ( for God had blessed them) he taught their enemy how to defeat them . To get their daughters to marry sons of Isreal and by so doing turn them to idolitory and then God wouid judge them and so it was then so it was .

God planted everything good in the garden. He placed Adam there so House rule #1 :The will of God came first. The evil was not in the tree of good and evil. Had he worked with God he would have known better. Without truth as the touchstone how shall anyone determine what is good or evil? The serpent beguiled Eve to see the commandment of God from his point of view.

Gen.7. 24 "the rest of God"

"And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days."

Those who entered into the Covenant by faith entered into the rest of God. This is in a nutshell what the ark noah teaches. While the old world died the ark bobbed above the waters 'And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, including 'every man' died. By Faith Noah is the designated Saviour' and he is 'in our image and after our likeness." This is brought out by the epistle, "by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water./Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished/But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men."(2 Pet.3.5-7; 1 Pet.3.21) We shall consider baptism by fire for another occasion but in this we have baptism by water, and the purpose is the same,' but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ." St Peter is referring to the good conscience of the fallen man and it has to be understood from the POV of the fallen man. God shall never undo what his holiness has created: the worlds framed by the word- Heavens, heaven and the Earth abides forever ( Heb 11.3) Jesus Christ the same (Heb.13.8)

Coming back to Noah his generation is on the move a world where every animal is in peace with one another, as a harbinger of the Millennial reign of Christ.

Everlasting Covenant in seven days assured every believer who has been set apart on mount Sion as memorial before God enjoys this rest which is Jesus Christ. Who but Satan shall teach otherwise? "And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." It is explained by this floating Eden where Noah is set as Christ. How many souls has Dispensationalism has claimed by their false doctrins?

    Hi Jesse,

If I'm not mistaken, someone mentioned you should continue with Romans, Hebrews, and John's Gospel after 1 John, right?

I became interested in your outline of the book of Acts, Link (Link. If you have time to go deeper into these chapters again, such as:

    The Gospel in Jerusalem

Chapter 2 - Pentecost: The Holy Spirit comes; Peter's sermon; 3,000 converted.

The Gospel in Judea and Samaria

Chapter 8 - Philip in Samaria; Simon the Sorcerer; Ethiopian eunuch baptized.

Chapter 11 - Peter reports to Jerusalem; Antioch becomes a mission center.

Chapter 12 - James martyred; Peter rescued from prison; Herod dies.

The Gospel to the Ends of the Earth

    First Missionary Journey (Ch. 13-14):

Paul and Barnabas sent from Antioch (Syria), travel through Cyprus and Asia Minor.

    Thank again and God bless.

There are two ways of knowing evil .

The first and fatal way is to do evil .

The second is by knowing or understanding what both are .

In all probability it was wisdom that dictated that God should plant two trees in the midst of the garden . The tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil .

God created man in His own image and gave him the perfect liberty of a child of God and wrapped up in that great truth that " man created in the image of God is another great truth ." Man shall not live by bread alone but by every Word that proceedeth from the mouth of God "

Thus God gave man the perfect liberty to eat of every tree in the garden that was good to eat which included then the tree of life .The only tree forbidden to eat of was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil "By that Word that came out of Hods mouth as to what was good to eat and what was evil to eat they lived . It was in rejection of that Word of life and believing the lie " thou shalt not surely die" that they died .

For in believing the lie her perceptions were changed to see it was " good to eat"and her reasoning was also corrupted in that she reasoned " it wouod make her wise " and she did eat . No one sins alone but always brings others along . Adams sin was worse he loved her more than God and obeyed her rather than God and he did eat also and in doing so corrupted all his seed in him .

Thus while man was created in the image of God he is BORN in the image of Adam . " shapen in iniquity".

Thus the image of God was lost or so marred by sin and the fall it is now unrecognisable .

God has not changed nor His ways.

The last Adam who was and is "the express image of the invisible God" came to seek and to save that which was lost .

Thus we MUST be born again "not of corruptible seed but the incorruptible seed which is the Word of God ".

And truly we do not live by bread alone but by every Word that proceeded from the mouth of God and " by practice learn good from evil
  • Gerald - In Reply - 1 year ago
The account in Genesis 1:1 is the creation of heaven and earth . The spiritual and earthly or seen and unseen . Genesis 1:2 is not about that heaven in Genesis 1 for that heaven needs no sun or moon for God is the light of it .

But rather Gen 1:2 is about the re creation of the earth and everything that follows is almost exclusively about the earth expecially chapters 1 and 2.

Thus we have a ' heaven ' betwixt the waters above and the waters below . It is not a " sound" it was created as was everything by his Word ( Jesus Christ) John 1 . For there is nothing made that was made visible and invisible that was not made by Him. The Word .

Then we have another ' heaven' of the 'earth' " He made the stars also " thus we have two heavens that is earthy and one where Gods throne is .

I think you are over complicating things and missing the simplicity of dcrioture. That is the creation . Of heaven and earth and the heavens that came later after verse 2 .

Some translations have pluralised verse 1 and made that heavenS this is quite wrong .

For God is a zGod of order and that order is clearly laid out first in gen 1:1 then all that follows concerning the earth in gen 1:2 onwards .

While you are right about the errors of some we must also be sure we do not also fall into error ourselves and nor can we justify our own errors if any by our perceptions of another's .

Is anything impossible for God? "And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham." If God in His holiness concieved Adam to serve as a double do you see him walking on fours before he can take a spade in his hand?

Evil was in the angelic revolt. But holiness of God does not have to know evil since His power and wisdom knows where to draw the line. Evil is in the heresy that fall of man created.

    Gen.7.22-23 "Dry land"

"All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died..../ and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark."

God gathered together the waters into one place and made the dry land appear. "And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good." What is good and called by God by name serves His purpose. It shall never be lost. Aaron was ordained as high priest under the Law of Moses. In the revolt of Miriam she was not alone,"And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses"(Num.12.1) But God would not let that go unchallenged. The Spirit makes clear what Moses was in his sight. Meekness was the hallmark of Jesus Christ. They were not insulting Moses the man but his Son. "And they said, Hath the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the Lord heard it."God punished Miriam, " and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow." (v.10). She was quarantined for full seven days where the whole number Seven informs that the Law was satified before she could be admitted back into the fold. God did not punish Aaron earlier over the golden calf episode; neither did he in this instance. God ordained him in his service so shall only punish him according to the day appointed for it. As an indication of his disapproval we find his name missing from the list of the heroes of faith.

Christ is represented in the role of Noah and whole house accordingly carries the saints redeemed from the earth.

God breathed into the nostrils of Adam and the breath of life marked all who were in the ark. The ark is a microcosm for the entire kingdom of his dear Son. "And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the Lord shut him in." In the same manner God 'and closed up the flesh instead thereof'.(2.21) There is none other in the will of God; nor in its fulfilment.

Dear "Bennymkje" agree with that. Ill hope you are inn a good mood. Thats why i need to mention to. You need to repend from some word i'l get from u here the another day. I have waited on the Word.

God is so good. He gives us word, living word. Sometime He gives evan that we can not understand in that hour. But certain we will understand some other hour. Amen in Jesus name.

And we ppl act and to think biassed, unfortunately.

Some years ago i wisit Israel for a month, i'l stay near Ben Yehuda street.

The street is named in Tel Aviv alsow.

And to stay in Jerusalem for so long time, i need to clean clotes sometime. And it was up a hill and down a hill. Some street are cramped for space, and other is wide. Like it is in our spirital world. And most of us know that Jersualem is a picture, thats good.

I dont belive that is the only reason. Jesus will one day come back and set His fot on the hill. Close to Jerusalem. He will come and judge all ppl. Us breathen He takes now in the day of living.

And some surtain stone around Jerusalem shine like gold. This used in the roads. So i walked actually on streets of gold! So this picture of what it stands in our Holy Bible is so pretty. I was close to Jesus and full of profound respect all the time. Halleluja, Amen

So IF WE ARE THE breathen and it stand in Eph 3:6. So who are the joint heir if it not the Israel we pray for salvation everyday.

This i will not mention anymore. Just ones!

Repend from what u wright to me here please. And u will be forgiven from this huge failure word.

Have a brilliant day under the sky. Love u in Christ Jesus.

Gen.7.1-5" By seven and by twos"

"For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God." For this reason He invites Noah into the ark,'Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation." This generation refers to the generation of Jesus Christ. What God implies is Noah is after our image and 'after our likeness'. God alone is righteouss.

v.2 " Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female." The Law of the Spirit set the Covenant by seven days where God's blessings cover man in his Son and it is not just for day or month but for everlasting. By twos means what is already mentioned in the earlier post. In his Son the animals are to be kept alive; also in Jesus Christ which refers to his humanity. The ark was not about to go on a cruise but to the new earth. This was a dry run for the new heaven and new earth. Thus they were' not clean' in the sense of accusing man for his fall. The righteousness of Noah as a Mediator came to save the sinners, " I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."(Lk.5.32)

Notice here a difference,"Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth."(v.3) They were to be preserved not by twos but by sevens. They were in mid-air and in service so their reward we read,"And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;/That ye may eat the flesh."(Rev.19.16-17). Their service as the raven and the dove shall attest was in the mind of God.

v.4 "For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights" Four is a Command word for the word of God, in his humanity. 4x10 expresses Jesus the word became flesh.

    Once again,

Here is an useful tip:It pleased the Father that in Jesus Christ all his fullness should dwell. " And he is before all things, and by him all things consist." So ark, nations well everything shall point out to his Advent, his humanity, death and resurrection/

    2. Holiness of God requires no correction. He shall never do what is contrary to His own holiness.

    3. The Spirit uses numbers phrases and expressions to emphasize the text. These shall be repeated all meaning the same thing. For instance, 'unto this day' is used and it refers to Ps.2 7. "I shall declare the decree: this day I have begotten thee. It refers to the Son. In due time the Word shall become flesh and shall be sent to the world.

    3. Gor created the worlds. God framed the worlds by word means same earth where faith explains the kingdom of his dear Son and the natural world or the ungodly world.

Read prayerfully and ask one who is honourable meaning one without any specific agenda to make you see from his POV. Read by the light of the Holy Spirit. Unless grace be given above, all ready shall only help superficially. You shall find lot fools asking irrelevant questions how old was Adam when he was created.or where are the dinos? Avoid answering such foolish question. The Bible is for our spiritual instruction in righteousness. Faith is what we require. Ask God and He shall answer your doubts.

    Gen.6.19-20 "Two of every kind"

And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be "male and female./ Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive."

God is particular as to the number and places emphasis that shall be male and female. In the everlasting Covenant God created man, "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."(Gen.1.27) The Spirit repeats again in Ch.5. " In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;/ Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam." God blessed them. Why repeat? Does God forget himself? There is no such errors with God. The Covenant states He created man as male and female. He blessed His creation and in ch.5 God is teling us that in the genealogy of Adam all his sons shall be either holy or wicked. Two of every sort that Noah carries in the ark are to be male and female. They represent His entire creation.

God is about to destroy the entire natural world where ways of man are corrupted because of Adam's disobedience. Two of every sort Noah takes with him into the ark shall be therefore male and female. The number two represents 'after our image' or the Son and 'after our likeness' representing the Word, The Law of the Spirit. There are no clean or unclean animals as was stated in the Law of Moses. Consider the vision of St Peter, " But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean./And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common./This was done thrice."( Acts 10.14-16)
