How could anyone refer to Jesus as the Son of David? Knowing what David did in His life! Let alone his contribution to the scriptures found in the psalms. He is the man who committed murder and adulteries.

What was it that saved David? His repentance, His suffering, is that enough to reconcile us back to God? Would writing books be enough to sanctify oneself, somehow, someway? How did David know He was forgiven and reconciled!

This question, of knowing the forgiveness of sin without works is indeed daunting!

This I do know, there is nothing in me that is good, that even compares too a man such as Christ.

How can I receive the confidence, with the knowledge that I have been forgiven for Christ sake?

Is it possible to KNOW? Even as David knew? Or perhaps He was living in a dream world suffering dementia for all He had been through! What evidence is there? That I am a knew creature? What does it mean too be forgiven of sin? This is truly a mystery!

What is even more mysterious is how it effects you and me!

His promises are all I have! His promise is, that I am now His Son! If you knew me, you would say, how can these things be? You see, now that I am come from the same seed, I am as He is. These things I have nothing to do with!

Only by His mercy, His death on the cross do we receive these things.

Godliness can only be found in Christ, with the forgiveness of sin.

We are no more servants, but now we are as He is , Kings in the household of God!

A Jewish historian offered this date:

The Great Flood (known as the mabul in Hebrew) was sent by Gd in the year 1656 of Creation (2105 BCE), to cleanse the earth of mankind's corrupt ways. The only survivors were Noah, his family, and representatives of every living species, who found refuge in a specially designed ark.

The story is told in detail in Genesis 6-11, which form the Parshah of Noach.
  • Matthew 5:3 meaning - In Reply - 3 years ago
Jesus begins by saying that the poor in spirit are blessed. This is not a reference to money or finances. To be "poor in spirit" is the opposite of being self-confident or self-reliant, especially in any spiritual sense. The poor in spirit recognize they are incapable of providing for themselves by their own strength, goodness, or righteousness. They know themselves to be spiritually bankrupt of true goodness. They cannot hope to bargain or earn their way into the kingdom of heaven.

Jesus says, though, that they are blessed because the kingdom of heaven is theirs already. In other words, admission that one does not deserve a place in God's kingdom is a requirement for entrance into that kingdom. This is the opposite of assuming one has earned citizenship by his own merit.

Even as part of a sermon from Jesus, these words need to be understood in careful context. Jesus is not teaching, in this one single verse, every detail of the plan of salvation. As He continues to teach, Jesus will be clear-and the New Testament will emphasize-that nobody comes to the Father except through faith in Christ for the forgiveness of sin.

A corresponding attitude to salvation is that of being poor in spirit. The kingdom of heaven will be populated by the humble and not the arrogant. In that way, the poor in spirit are blessed.

Dear "Paula", this was a good question. Together with Jesus we have the Holy Spirit, soul and body.

And one thing is for sure. With knowledge also comes responsibility. We have always heard that we should help those who are weaker, so even if we consider ourselves important. We are not at all before God, there we are equal. But when one is poor in spirit like here. Then i see most children, those ppl who are demented, those who have not heard the word of the Lord and received it openly. Innocent people who have not experienced the Holy Spirit. These are weak in the Spirit.

But if this applies to the believers who then know everything, i do not know how it goes. Maybe someone else on the web knows?

Because we know good and bad, right? The apostle Paul has something interesting to say in 1 Corinthians 11:17-34

Maybe you got some clarity :)

Stay blessed with all your mind and spirit in the Name of the Lord Jesus, love u in Christ.

    Dear Adam,

Thank you for listing all of these Scriptures for people to reference concerning the triunity of the Godhead. Some just will not believe these verses because their minds are set. But hopefully there may be some who will read them and understand this Scriptural truth and believe it.

We keep up the good fight!

Also, a friend can baptise you in a tub, a swimming pool or a shallow River. God sees everything. Say

"I baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit." Then say, by faith I receive the Holy Spirit as my Teacher, my Comforter, and my Corrector.

God my Father bless this holy child and raise up a fine Proverbs 31 woman. Amen.

I'm elderly. Some are not able to go to church physically, but they see church on tv or they listen to the ones on FM or AM radio stations; 24 hrs a day.

If you have a cell phone, you can go on YouTube and type in Greg Laurie or John Hagee; even Billy Graham! Many of his videos are on YouTube. :)

God knows exactly where your heart is, so keep growing as His dear child. He will make a way for you. If transportation is the problem, you can call and see if churches in your area have a bus ministry who will come pick you up and take you home.

    Book of John

16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

    Other scriptures:

    Philippians 2:5-11

    John 15:16 and 18

    1 John 3:13

We are always here. Come whenever you need prayer or answers. I love the spirit of your heart.

Sir, if there is a chance for a new person, will God be happy?
  • S Spencer - In Reply - 3 years ago
    Hi Terry.

    I concur with Brother Jesse

Here's a few verses that goes well with Philippians 2:12-13.

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: Philippians 1:6.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

    1 Peter 1:3-5.

Even in the old testament God put it on man's heart to will them.

And they shall be my people, and I will be their God:

And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:

And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I WILL PUT MY FEAR IN THEIR HEARTS, THAT THEY SHALL NOT DEPART FROM ME.

    Jeremiah 32:38-40.

It takes an act of God to perform the greatest commandment.

And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

    Deuteronomy 30:6.

    God bless.

Hi; The two greatest commandments you spoke of is something I had never understood all my Christian life until 2007, then God opened my spirit to Matthew 5:19 the least commandments, you see I could quote the greatest commandments, but I did not know how to do them, so I prayed after all those years since 1981 God help me understand how to love God with all the heart, soul, mind and strength and how to love my neighbor as myself. When God revealed to me the least commandments, I wrote down around twelve hundred of them, every chapter and verse, it was from these I learned that each one teaches us either how to love God, or how to love our neighbor.

    Re: Water baptism

What happens to people who believe in God and don't go to church?

What happens to those who believe in God and don't get baptized?

Can a believer baptize a baby by sprinkling without having a pastor do it, because the baby's family don't go to church, but they believe in God and Jesus?

So are people who don't get baptized by immersion by a pastor in church, are they not saved?

  • HOW TO USE THE SEARCH ENGINE - 3 years ago
When you come into this website you're on the LINK PAGE.

Up at the top is the SEARCH BOX. Links for the entire Bible is below that.

It's a really great SEARCH ENGINE, but just for Bible subject.

You can put the word 'Atonement' in the box and hit the arrow >

The engine will fetch every scripture that contains THAT word. You can sort the list; and the engine places the list in book order.

Or you can read either Old Testament verses only

    Or, New Testament verses only

With DATES OR HISTORY, you'll have to go on Google. Type it in like this:

    "Atonement, history".

By using all the search options, you'll learn some really awesome information. If search doesn't fetch anything try wording it differently.

If it fetches 10,000 verses; try wording it another wAy or just look at only OT or NT verses.

Look around on this whole website to see what's in it. If you get lost, just back out and come back in. Curious is good.

The location of the commentary box is below the search box. Touch a scripture and it will highlight Yellow. Scroll down slowly.

    Read these:

    Luke 16:19-31

    Psalm 34:7

    Joel 2:28-32

    Hi Donna.

I believe God is only sending msgs through his living desciples carrying out his living word.

Take a look at Luke 16:27-31. Especially verse 31.

"Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:

For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

( And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, NEITHER WILL THEY BE PERSUADED, THOUGH ONE ROSE FROM THE DEAD.")

There was one that rose from the dead that Moses writings testify of and most don't believe and that's our Lord Jesus Christ.

    I hope this helps.

    God bless.

    Giannis,

It looks like we come to a different conclusion on Revelation 3:3 and I am okay with that. Thank you for expounding some on Philippians 2:12-13. I still believe this work is not my work, but the work of Christ in me. He is doing the work. I am just along for the ride, and I do not say this to try to get out of anything because I know I have a responsibility. Jesus gave me a command to follow Him and that is exactly what I am to do. My position will always be behind Him. It is His work, and I am to follow Him. He will use me as He sees fit, but it's still Him doing the work. He get's all the glory.

Yes, the wages of sin is death. But that's only the first part of the verse. The second part, which I don't believe you intentionally left out says "but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

What an interesting phrase and good memorization verse. But this summarizes the whole thing. The wages of "the" sin, because the Greek text has the definite article. Sin pays wages! And it is interesting that the Greek word for wages is what you pay a soldier with, only it's not money. It is provisions, or rations. So the wages of sin is death. How do you like that for a reward? It's like "Pick up your paycheck on Friday." Well, how much did I get? "Oh, complete death!"

The word for gift in the Greek is the word Charisma. Isn't that interesting? It gives us a good idea as to what the word charismatic means. It means the expression of God's grace. As you know, Charis is grace, and Charisma is when grace is in action. The gift of God is God's grace blessing us with eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. But if you notice, it is not a wage, but a gift. Sin pays wages. God doesn't pay wages. He gives as a gift. You can never earn it and you get full inheritance! I didn't earn salvation, God gave it to me as a gift. Would He ever take that gift back?

I'm sorry to hear that you (or anyone else) believes that someday you might lose your salvation
  • Mishael on Part 2 of why race colors - In Reply on Genesis 1:26 - 3 years ago
I did not mean it to say color is a disease. I meant that the blending of the man with the woman, would select color, hair type, eye color, etc. From all the way back to Genesis, the DNA THAT GOD CREATED, is passing through bloodlines. It picks up and Carrie's everything in it.

That's why I think Adams and Eves blood originated ALL elements in every human beings DNA.

I don't think Egyptians are blacker than others because of sun exposure; as scientists preach today. Who knows.

I'm relying totally on what God created and what he used to mold it. Through science we are discovering that DNA is the carrier God Chose.

I look like my ancestors: all of them. They all migrated all over the world, from the lands of Israel. Scientists cannot find the Garden of Eden, even now.

It was in Nineveh, where people were "classed."

Working class, Elite class, Slave, Masters, etc.

God put it in us to carve out our own paths.

Cain killed Abel. Cain left and took the evil with him. Seth carried the DNA of Jesus Christ. God oversaw Jesus's bloodline thousands of years until Book of Luke.

What a Mighty God we serve!!
