Jesus says in John 15:1-2 "my Father is the husbandman." Vine dresser"
This emphasizes fruit barring is a work of the Holyspirirt, not of you.
Let's consider that for a moment, FRUIT IS NOT GIFTS AND IT'S NOT SERVING AND IT'S NOT BY COMMAND.
So, when we come across these scriptures John 13:34-35. Mattthew 7:20. 1 John 2:11. 1 John 4:20. these are the marks of a Christian and is the ONLY way they are identified! And if you cannot be Identified by this you have John 15:6 to deal with.
Your faithfulness, intelligence, commitment, being noble, teaching, serving is all good but you're not identified as a Christian by none of these and can be told I "NEVER" knew you! Matthew 7:22-23.
Let's be clear on the recipient of this love that validates our position.
We are to love everyone, but our validation is specifically towards the Brothern.
The passages in 1 John speaks expressly about HATING you Brother.
God is truth, God is light, and God is Love. We are to worship God in truth and in Spirit. When the truth is spoken it shines light on darkness, and those in darkness hates the light and they will hate you!
HUMILITY.
Another fruit with great virtue. Woks of the law couldn't bring this either. It brought pride!
Being connect to the genuine vine brings humility. Look at what the Lord tells the Pharisees in Matthew 21:33-44. Right away you see the contrast of the two vines. Israel was to be a vine, but they became a degenerate vine. Jeremiah 2:9.
Now, place your attention on vs 43. Therefore, say I unto you, the kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. (The Church) Peter calls the Church a Holy nation in 1 Peter 2:9.
Humility cast out pride doesn't it. We tend to want to place our spirituality on things we do, putting ourselves on display and pointing people towards us instead of Christ.
more to come.
Its Christ faith were saved by not ours!
See part 9.
Your contributions here certainly are appreciated on my part and I'm sure others who you go through detailed scriptural studies with. Sometimes it can be easy to forget with all this discussion that we are all going through diverse personal lives; and varying struggles. I felt like saying this as well; sometimes it seems we literally can't be KNOWN completely in this life. Whether it is our own physical limitations; responsibilities; family dynamics or social network we are sort of "hemmed in" in a way. It is therefore edifying to consider you as a sister in the Lord among all the throng that will stand by the throne room in (hopefully) short order. (Of course I won't miss my cell phone up there or my computer).
Rev. 21:4
Agape; Rich P
At this point; I don't know about you but this concept is absolutely terrifying when we consider that we are made from the dust.
When this occurs will be the final Great White Throne judgment of Rev. 20. That is when the wicked are judged; I am not a Post-Millennium person so I believe that those who are of the church now will have been in glorified bodies and clearly "not harmed by the second death" ( Rev. 2:11). This thought of the fate of the wicked I really can't bear to think about.
So; for now it certainly gives us more than ample incentive to preach the Word; in and out of season ( 2 Tim. 4:2). It gives us confidence knowing that all enemies of God in particular Satan who mess with us now are going to be judged. Through the Spirit we can love our enemies; while still realizing that it is not up to us to seal their fate; but to be a faithful witness so that we can receive a full reward ( Psalm 126:5-6). It also helps us to move past all those worldly desires that would threaten to undo us; and have a healthy fear of the Lord. Remember He chastises all He loves. ( Hebrews 12:6). In the meantime; the coming Tribulation and birth pangs are all part of the process to refine us as well as draw those who He has called for His own.
We all need each other as we see the Day draw near.
Agape; Rich P
Since Lucifer from his inception had musical skills inherent in his makeup; and undoubtably had a high position of authority and leadership in that realm; he was given for those who would seek for those who would seek worldly aspirations over God. The verse Matthew 6:5 shows those who "have their reward" in this life as a result of pride who no doubt are inspired by Satan's self made mindset in empty religious rituals.
Man has to acknowledge not just that they are sinners but they are following "their father the devil." ( John 8:44-45). We are all slaves to the god of this world ( 2 Cor. 4:4) prior to regeneration. The end times in Revelation merely bring to the visible realm and to the forefront what already has been happening to influence man since the fall.
Clearly the world governments; all religions apart from the true faith INCLUDING and especially those with false Christs are part of this godless kingdom.
.....I know that Peter speaks of the lord coming as a theif in the nite and this earth shall passaway with a fervent heat 2 nd peter 3 : 10 ..But i think that is just the heat of the H.G. His baptism of fire as our God is a consuming fire....With a loud noise is sound doctrine God does not need to destroy this earth...God needs to destroy satans Seat which is mans carnal minds...Which thinks evil 24/7...outa of the hearts of man proceeds all manner of evil... Rev 11: 18 God says he will destroy them that destroy the earth...So i don't think that this beautiful earth is ever going to be destoyed
.....Its only satan and mans old adamic nature that is in rank with satan... that is gonna be destroyed....IMO THE ONLY EARTH THAT IS GONNA BE DESTROYED IS MANS OLD ADAMIC NATURE....Scrip. says that man is of the earth earthly....1 st Cor. 15: 47...When Jesus said he came to bring fire on the Earth he meant H.G. FIRE...As our God is a consuming fire impling a spiritual fire...Jesus rebuked James and John when they wanted to call a literal fire down from heaven on the Samaritians...You don't know what manner of spirit you are of my disciples....The son of man came not to destroy mens lives but to save mens lives.
I pray for much love and comfort for you, and your family, as you gather together to remember your Mother on this day.
Much Love in Christ
The Jews and Gentiles that made up the early church's that were established by Paul were specifically taught to observe the Sabbath. The scriptures show that Paul personally kept the 7th Day Sabbath, and he taught the Gentiles to do the same.
Acts 13:42
"And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath."
Acts 13:44
"And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God."
Contrary to the popular but mistaken modern day doctrines, Paul did not put forth a different gospel or different approach to the law or grace from what Jesus Christ and the Apostles taught. If we study the bible and believe the scripture, we will see the Truth.
Paul always spoke highly of God's commandments and by his examples he showed a high commitment to the 7th Day Sabbath.
Happy Sabbath Day Everyone, and God Bless!
My Mom's memorial service is today. I am asking for prayers for me and my family. I ask that my words would be what God would have me say and that everyone in my family acts respectfully and compassionately to one another.
God did save us by new birth. New birth is done by the Spirit of God. So yes God becomes our Father when He saves us and we become His sons and daughters, brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ and heir of His Kingdom. We are adopted children, His only begotten Son is Jesus Christ. So while as brother Chris said those words are not synonyms, they both literally show that we have been saved by God.

"And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified (why justified?) God, being baptized with the baptism of John.
But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him."
The greek text instead of the word "counsel" has the word "will". So it was God's will, a commandment, that Jesus obeyed although there was no need for Him to do. It is a very serious mistake for someone to not follow God's commandments. Matthew 7:21"21
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." The belief that one when once saved is always saved even if he disobeys God commandments (having the belief that because this is a man's work that don't save) is objected by that as well as many other verses. But that will be answered by me in another post. Have a nice weekend. GBU
1Peter 1:3-9
The Apostle Peter is writing to Christians scattered throughout Asia Minor, sharing with them various things about the conduct of their faith (chapter 1), their conduct before their superiors (chapter 2), their conduct through times of suffering & testing (chapters 3 & 4), & a word to the elders & those submitted to them (chapter 5).
So, in chapter 1 specifically, Peter encourages the believers with the promise, that God Who has chosen them to be His, will also reserve in Heaven for them an inheritance that cannot be changed or removed. And God will also keep them (i.e. secure their faith) right to the end. With such a promise of future blessing, these believers were encouraged to persevere through their trials & afflictions, conduct their lives in holy living, having deep reverence toward God Who judges righteously, and to live in the Spirit (where a deep, genuine love will be shown to each other). Bro. S. Spencer has given a recent detailed thread on the outflow of that special love (Agape) that comes when the Spirit indwells us & has His gracious control over us - you may like to search for it & refresh your spirit by it. I trust the above helps in understanding this chapter: that God Who chooses us also promises us an eternity with Him (and of course, His Son Jesus Christ).

Psalms 46, whole chapters 2Peter 3, Revelation 20,

Hopefully these are helpful in your study & searching
Asaph = aw-sawf
Ishmaelites = yish-maw-ay-lee (or, to stick closer to the English: yish-maw-ay-lites)
Hagarenes = hag-ree (or, hag-reens, being closer to English)
Gebal = gheb-awl
Amalek = am-aw-lake
Philistines & Tyre (stay with these words as the Hebrew for them is vastly different)
Assur = ash-shoor
Lot = lote
Sisera = see-ser-aw
Jabin = yaw-been
Oreb = o-rabe
Zeeb = zeh-abe
Zebah = zeh'-bakh
Zalmunna = tsal-moon-naw
Jehovah = yeh-ho-vaw
From the many blessings resulting from Salvation, the Christian's new position in Christ affords us: a heavenly citizenship ( Philippians 3:20); a member of a holy & royal priesthood ( 1 Peter 2:5); a member of God's family ( Ephesians 2:19); an adoption ( Galatians 4:5); and a member of God's 'peculiar people' (i.e. God's special possession) ( 1 Peter 2:9).
I find no disagreement with your understanding of Acts 19:1-7. That too is my understanding, that these Ephesian believers were baptized by John, then they (at some point) believed on Christ Jesus, but were never baptized under the Trinitarian Name, nor received the Holy Ghost (an extraordinary, maybe a rare event). I hadn't known how John's baptism was probably conducted - so your description was new & useful to me.
With Jesus' baptism by John: I agree again with you for the most part, of Christ's sinlessness, John's perplexity why Jesus should come to him for baptism, & Christ having to "fulfil all righteousness" by performing it. But you say that Jesus had to be baptized "because it was a commandment from God". I think that should a personal opinion from how one appraises that event & Jesus' Words. My understanding is that 'by fulfilling all righteousness', it was not only a Directive from the Father that the Son be sacrificed for sins, but also of the Son's acceptance & willingness to (fully) fulfil the Father's Plan to go to the Cross & never being side-tracked from His goal. Yes, Jesus had no reason to be baptized, let alone through John's baptism - His baptism was totally distinct from any other; sorrow for sin was not His end, but payment for our sin was - of which this baptism signified before God that He was committed to. Both John & the people would not have known or seen this. As well, I don't see that Jesus' Baptism was in any way a prelude or prompt for believers' baptism, as its meaning & application bore faint resemblance. Jesus': pointed to His Commitment to the Cross; Ours: our identification & commitment to Jesus' Sacrifice & Resurrection.
As far as air baptism, self-baptism, baptism in a bath tub, etc. goes, I believe defeats the purpose of water baptism & its importance - just a ritual to somehow pacify the conscience. Blessings.
Fruit barring.
Let's keep these two verses in mind while we go through this section.
Matthew 22:36-37. and 1 John 4:21.
and remember the context in the previous sections.
Notice the highlights!
Jesus answered and said unto him, "IF" a man love/Agape me
( HE WILL ) keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
( He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings and the word which ye hear is not mine but the Father's which sent me.
These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. John 14:23--26.
We've established that Agape is a fruit and can't be achieved by the flesh, "Mans efforts"
Man can not produce the fruit, the vine does. Man is the branch, he bares the fruit. John 15:4-5.
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, NEITHER CAN A CORRUPT TREE BRING FORTH GOOD FRUIT.
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Matthew 7:15-20. When you look at Matthew 7:13-14 the corrupt tree is any other way to God presented in the wide gate. for instance "WORKS"
That's why these often misused verses follows, Matthew 7:22-23.
This is a fruitless deceived group that thought they worked their way into Heaven.
So tell me why isn't the significance of Loving one another sought after and debated above anything else when it's paramount?
Because some know they don't have that love on display and don't bare it.
God bless.
I also think how timeless the Bible is.
Totally
God bless u and yours in Jesus name, love u in Christ.
