Anthon Don't you think God knows your condition and by his SON Jesus Christ your still his child born again

key word born can't be reversed, also collossians 2:13-23 then all same epistle chapter 3 deals with where

we keep our mind. Look brother we have been redeemed i.e. bought back and justified i.e. and we have the

righteousness of God inChrist which means we stand infront of God with no sense of sin guilt or condemnation

walking by the spirit so do not beat yourself up GOD ISNT. If God is no longer against us when we do our best

then why do we when our sin is bought and payed for not saying if we blow we don't ask forgivemess, we

acknowledge our broken fellowship which is what sin and do it honestly then keep moving on. That's what our

great example King davuid did when he blew it with bathsheba and had her husband murdered, he acknowledge

his sin ask forgiveness was in sackclothe and ashes three days prayer that the child would live then when he got

word that he died immediately got himself together and back to doing what God told him to be doing. Remember

this is a man that God says scripturally uis a man after His own heart. So love yourself and think of yourself as

God thinks of you, and remember the sabbath was made for man not man for the sabbath IT IS WRITTEN.

    Hey Adam,

    Part 1

I can say and I believe you as well, we believe God has no beginning or no end. In John 1:1 it starts with in the beginning, why? Does it mean Jesus the Son of God has been God from eternity or is that an assumption? Scripture tells us Jesus the Amen is the beginning of creation, Rev. 3:14.

Scripture tells us Jesus in whom we have redemption through His blood and forgiveness of our sins and is the image of the invisible God (the manifestation of God). Jesus is the firstborn of every creature and through Him, everything that is was created through and for Him Col. 1:12-17.

It also says the Father made us meet/qualify of the inheritance and says He, Jesus was before "all in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things". Does that say He was eternal with the Father or does scripture tell us He was the firstborn of every creature/all creation in the beginning?

By this Jesus can say "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, the first and the last, He, Jesus was first of all and He will be the last and the ending of this creation when the mystery of God should be finished and the new heaven and the new earth (the new creation perfect without spot).

Jesus the Son of God was the beginning, He is the only begotten Son of God. Does scripture honestly tell how He was begotten? Can we only say God ordained it before the world? Jesus said in John 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. With our human minds can we have any clue to what that glory is?

    See part 2,

    Adam,

    part 2

The word Elohim is plural, but the verb created is singular and if to support the triune God it should read Gods and there are not three Gods. That would be for another topic.

John 8:58 I am, I exist or existed before Abraham. Exodus 3:14 I AM THAT I AM if I remember, I will be what I will be, it is also close to God's name YHWH. I don't see tying these two together.

From our conversation which I have enjoyed, I do not see an agreement. The one thing about this doctrine, statement of faith whatever you call it I feel is wrong it has been placed above salvation that is in Jesus Christ only. If one does not believe it, it is heresy, you may feel it is. I have been told in more than one church. I hear the word used on this site. And there is not one scripture that says it, nor was it taught by any of the apostles.

In my opinion, it has been made law and it is like Acts 15 You must be circumcised to be saved. Jesus is the only begotten son of God, and God the Father has placed Him above all, and Jesus will reign until all enemies are put under His feet.

God the Father has turned all control to His Son that is what we see in Rev. 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. Which is all-powerful, supreme, absolute, unlimited, invincible, until He turns it back over to the Father, Cor.15:25-28 Rev. 20:14

I honor the Son for what He gave up, lived in this flesh, what He suffered, and the blood He shed, was nailed to that cross. He was put in a tomb and three days later God the Father raised Him from the dead giving us the only chance of salvation and eternal life and nothing can be placed above that.

1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

    God bless,

    RLW

I think I know what this means but if you do not forgive somebody does that mean that you don't get to go to heaven because if you can't forgive somebody then your heavenly father can't forgive you I hope I said that right thank you

There is only one God and his name is JESUS. God is a Spirit #1 manif#2 estation - manifested (revealed what was secret, invisible, unseen) in the flesh as a man #2 manifestation, name Jesus, and after resurrection, ascended sent Holy Spirit #3 manifestation, NOT PERSONS, at three separate events, time frame. My answer to your question on trinity - no I don't believe in this doctrine - it is false that contradicts the truth in the Bible.

One Eighty There's something I always keep in mind which I'll share in Lev. 17:11 the life of the flesh is in the blood

now in human genetics the bloodline is on the male side, when it comes to our saviour HIS BLOOD was pure which is why

Judas said I have betrayed innocent blood. In Hebrews 2:14 it says Jesus Christ took part of the same he had sinless blood

the flesh was corrupt. He never thought to do evil but understood how to with His Fathers help shut the enemy down until

it was time to fulfill and he couldn't be touched until then. He knew how His father functioned via the scriptures because

the only way to know God is by IT IS WRITTEN. What a day when we practice open mind to Gods word and all we do to

His glory not ours which requires caring and walking by the spirit. He was a complete and perfect man of body soul and

spirit or as the scripture say the second adam from heaven. I with you do not believe he litterally was God.

understanding where as there is no doubt] then you can go down to verse 21. Then there is the word for know

oida which is like knowing baseball but never played, which is head knowledge God wants us to have a indept heart

Richard I have what I call spiritual litmus paper biblically, when someone says God told me that's a concern because

i'll know that if the outcome glorifies God and lines up with HiS word. I went to a worship center with a friend that said

the guy teaches hot bible so my wife and I went with him, the first half hour were people dancing to music and dropping

in the aisles supposedly slain in the spirit and my friend said aren't you exited and told him haven't heard any body teach

yet. After the music this leader came up to the podium and picked up the phone receiver and loud enough to be heard said

God what do you want me to share then proceeded to minister to people the spirit of education and plumbing and carpentry

and other stuff. When it was all over my friend who looked like he did drugs ask me so what do I think and I said my problem

was he never taught out of the bible so whats really going on. You can't make this stuff up and that's why I still believe that

other believers when they see those kind of examples don't want anything to do with it and I don't blame them. I have gone

to fellowships where all things are done decent and in order and its peaceful and delivering when operated according to

scripture. It's not Gods fault that the enemy has basically blended truth with error or confusion because after all that's

    what he does.

Richard The word of knowledge is the operation of the God given ability via the spirit to information he gives

you concerning a specific situation that you cannot know by the five senses. Example 2 KINGS 13-16 VERSE 16

you will embrace a son. another example in 2 KINGS 7:1 was stated at the time when there was a famine so great

that there was cannibalism 2 Kings 6:26-29 and the king blamed the man of GOD. iN 7:1 basically Elisha says

thus sayeth the lord revealed knowledge or word of knowledge in 24 hours there will be great abundance in the city

and of course the ones he talked to thought he was nuts! This also operates correctly with scripture and must

Glorify the true God and bless the body of CHRIST. Last in Ephesians 3:1-4 Paul was given in the church epistles

all knowledge concerning the Body of CHRIST no other man was given the abundance of the revelations that Paul

was given that's why the adversary wanted him dead. Everywhere he went and taught the freedom in Christ Jesus

there were unbelievers right behind him trying to talk people out of the walk via the spirit. Things haven't changed

there is nothing new under the sun.

    Discernment part 2

False spirits will appeal to the lesser passions; or try to give some panacea; quick fix or other remedy that with any wisdom is "too good to be true". God will do things in His timing; and can be trusted to guide our paths as we follow Him (see Psalm 119). Wisdom is part and parcel with all spiritual things. One can procrastinate when God has made it clear that we are to move forward; but let us allow God to tell us when to move or wait. This is what can complicate even a true plan of God in our lives; such as when Sarah decided to give God a "jump start" with her handmaiden for Abraham's offspring. If we substitute our own selfish reasoning we often can cause issues that muddle things for quite a while. God is longsuffering and will work all things for the good; but still we can have unnecessary lasting scars because we take on ourselves what He is telling us to wait on.

This ties in with God giving us the "desires of our heart". ( Psalm 37:3-4). Learning to parse out His will and desire from our will takes careful analysis; and should always involve wise counsel of other believers either indicating doors are open or closed. The enemy will use any method to try to render us ineffective; if we are His sheep. If we are not truly saved; he doesn't have to do that much but of course will blind men to those witnessing the truth. (see 2 Peter 3:18 and other on KNOWING the will of God). We should be wise to the tactics of our enemy; always prepared as Ephesians 6 states. We cannot outsmart him and never should attempt to go after his hierarchy or authority structure directly.

My circumstances at the moment do not allow me to go to church on Saturday the sabbath because I am temporarily in a rehabilitation center learning to walk again after about a month stay in the hospital for medical reasons. I wanted to know while I am not keeping the sabbath holy. I do read and listen to my Bible on my smartphone. I hope to be discharged from said rehab place in another 3 months or so. I wanted to know if I am still sinning against God
  • Richard H Priday - 3 years ago
    Discernment

I have been given spiritual discernment myself; so I could be biased here. I can't help but observe how lacking it appears to be in the church today; including those who seem to possess the other "signs and wonders" gifts. It seems those who are "cessationists" (a viewpoint I'm still trying to iron out) are on the opposite end with those who routinely practice tongues (usually the dominant gift claimed to be happening in Pentacostal and/or Charismatic congregations. There are some on YouTube; usually those formerly in New Age or other occult practices who are familiar with false signs and demonic manifestations; but those who regularly attend the Mega churches never seem to discuss this subject. If anyone knows a good study from a Charismatic brother on knowing the differences I would like to know about it.

When we study the verse stating that if any spirit says that Christ came in the flesh it is from God ( 1 John 4:2) and vice versa we need to pay attention to the emphasis here. It doesn't say that any PERSON claiming Christ came in the flesh is from God; just any spirit BEHIND that person; group or organization. If it was that easy Satan would be giving away His plans too easily.

It is the "angel of light" we ought to be most concerned about here. ( 2 Cor. 1:14). Certainly; terrible possessions and oppressions can make clear that there is a demonic entity behind the torment. The power of Satan is only over a believer if he yields to sin. The opposite is true; from my own experience we cannot sin with impunity as we did before; the enemy LOVES to oppress us if we succumb to weakness and don't trust God. I am convinced the Lord uses that often in our sanctification process. In any event; it is clear who has won the war; but if we think there aren't battles then our spiritual armor is badly taken care of or missing altogether.

True Holy Spirit manifestation satisfies the soul while increasing hunger and thirst for righteousness.

    Word of Knowledge

I had a personal encounter with a young lady in the Lord in the late 1980s who gave me a Word about having a certain physical condition that caused me to be "bound up" as it were. There was no way she would have known about it. A Word of Knowledge doesn't seem to have any direct Biblical reference but certainly fits in with the Prophets when addressing David as Nathan did; for instance. Again; as with any other supernatural event; the enemy who works thorough families for generations (and can act as a "familiar spirit" for example) is well aware of our weaknesses; and if we allow any sins to fester; God Himself allows us to be tested. There should be some check in our spirit that the Holy Spirit is communicating with us; or not ( Romans 8:16). It is of course the message not the messenger that is the focus in the case of a true miracle. That being said; someone who is known to be a man or woman of God by their character and lifestyle is usually used-although the message tends to come in the O.T. in rather mysterious delivery and what is considered odd behaviors.

We certainly need to heed the Word so that any false prophets or words of knowledge can be caught. Anyone; for instance saying to someone that God has called them to divorce their wives and marry someone else is from the enemy (using carnal desire as the impetus). The same principle often occurs today with these "prosperity" preachers who just have to have another car; plane; etc. Again; as I stated before a Word often isn't pleasant; an example being Peter being told he would be taken where he didn't want to go ( John 21:19). This came after the preparation when Satan desired to sift him like wheat; the Lord prayed for him; and then the Lord told him of his denial yet gave the hope that when he was "converted" he would strengthen his brethren ( Luke 22:32). Here; we see an ongoing discipling process which should also occur when any word of knowledge is given.
  • Richard H Priday - In Reply - 3 years ago
Interesting study on Greek meanings. It is noteable; that those who had believed hearing John's message perhaps somehow were not privy to those who had the Pentecost experience. They clearly had repented and believed but were ignorant not of their own fault. The question of true repentance (a gift from God); and testing ourselves to see if we are in the faith ( 2 Cor. 13:5-6) does show us if we are truly saved. There is; of course a concern of the opposite issue; i.e. miracles occurring yet Christ not "knowing" us ( Matt. 7:23 and other verses). Here; the problem is that there is something in it for them rather than desire to glorify God. It could be that they are seeking glory for themselves by surrounding themselves with true miracle workers; they are merely "declaring" things from their own imaginations or working with a demonic imitation of the Holy Spirit. Judas Iscariot is a disturbing example of a predestined "son of perdition" who was not only called as an Apostle but went out with them when these miracle were being performed. There is scripture which seems to indicate the Spirit can still work through someone without them being saved; such as Balaam in the O.T. The message of repentance; and the miracle of salvation from sins still has to be the main focus. God can still work even with imperfect vessels; and perhaps having a few true believers in many cases today in a Laodician church still can allow miracles to occur in the presence of a few Spirit filled individuals.

I agree that merely knowing the Word isn't enough. The opposite here is also the case though; there seems to be a great lack of knowledge among those who claim to possess spiritual gifts. Obviously; to be Christlike involves BOTH. We need to love the Word; and if we love Him we are obedient. ( John 14:15). As salt and light; we need to be overcomers with the fear of the Lord. Sadly; many look to Him as some sort of cosmic genie rather than MASTER; savior AND Lord.

Jeremiah 2:13 This verse has one of the greatest challenges facing the Body of Christ the Church of God in the age

of grace even being written to israel or the jewish people in captivity. The evils are forsaking the fountain of living

waters God who supplies all need but also we try to figure out better ways the flesh of by not walking by the spirit

and that is what seperates believers because of different belief systems outside of whats written which goes against

Ephesians 4:1-6 also in Phillipians the main topic is like minded in christ I.E. DOCTRINE. What seperated Jesus Christ

from the other leaders was not what he said His doctrine was with power and authority, the same with the first century

church they not only talked the walk but walked the talk and manifested the power given them. The same is available

inour day and time God hasn't and Jesus Christ is the same yesterday to day and forever. God Bless.

Yes Fred, There's a battle going on that has already been decided.

There's a powerful evil force in the world and then There's The Lord of TRUTH. Truth is being attacked by those who CANNOT hear the truth.

John 8:40-47. But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.

Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.

Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

WHY DO YE NOT UNDERSTAND MY SPEECH? EVEN BECAUSE YE CANNOT HEAR MY WORD.

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?

He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

    CONCLUSION.

This is said about one group. WHY DO YE NOT UNDERSTAND MY SPEECH? EVEN BECAUSE YE CANNOT HEAR MY WORD.

This is said about the other group. John 10:27-28. MY SHEEP HEAR MY VOICE, AND I KNOW THEM, and they follow me:

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

Acts 19:2 Have ye received since ye believed. Many times I've heard people say to me my brother finally believed

and Got born again. Then I ask how do you know not being negative but by their fruit ye shall know. An interesting

detail about the word receive biblically their are two words in greek for receive[dechomai and lambano]. Now some

may say so what well dechomai is receive subjectively something i.e. being given a tool box full of wrenches and never

utilizing the tools. Lambano is receiving and operating or manifesting what you've been given.

In ACTS 19:2 Pual found certain disciples they believed and ask them if they received and this is the word [lambano]

and after he taught concerning Christ Jesus and ministered to them they S.I.T and prophecied which is the outward

display of the inward power of holy spirit. In Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive [lambano] manifested power displayed and

be witnesses also note it doesn't say defense attorneys, we don't defend God we walk in love and tell and teach.

Receiving dechomai are the ones who hear and there's no humility or heart in it's just another piece of knowledge to

consider and nothing is done with it. The parable of the sower and the seed is a great exaple of both of these.

In the greek Gods word has a great more depth of understanding for those interested.

The universe has rules! These rules are dictated by the one who created it! Can unbelieveing man change these rules, while in the midst of us who believe these rules?

The universe doesn't think so! It has His ways of correcting the imbalance that is produced by the injustice that occures.

This is called the constant will or love of the creator! He especially loves those, who wish the same things He does! Those things being, the protection of the lives who are unable to care for themselves.

The creator shall do what is inevidible for those who wish to hurt the creation! If not now when "their time" is up, they shall find the eternal darkness that awaits for them!

If you are not a child of God, then you may find yourself with these who do not believe these things! Judgment is at the doors! Pray for the innocent, pray for the unwarranted deeds of the evil, that those who are part of these things "He shall judge now"!Awake and be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit!

Words that Paul and Jesus wanted believers to understand and know. Ephesians 1:17 That the God (of) our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the (only) true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. 1 Timothy 2:5 For there is (one God), and one mediator between God and men, (the man) Christ Jesus; Luke 1:32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son (of) the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

I put in parenthesis words that can be passed over easily. A lot of the phrases "deity of Christ", "fully God, fully man", "God the Son" I haven't read in the Bible. I might have missed them. If so I would like to know them. I wonder if their is a benefit in adding to the words the Bible uses to describe Jesus Christ.

Hi S Spencer , may I ask you a question ? What do you believe that the whore of Babylon symbolises ? I believe that it represents Rome , more specifically Roman Catholicism . For the sake of my post I shall assume that I'm correct ( I know that I could be wrong ) . Do you know anything about the council of Nicea which was held in 325 a.d. ? If not , you might want to check it out , it's fascinating but not necessarily in a good way smiley face . It was there that the Nicene Creed was born , which is now one of the key beliefs of Roman Catholicism . Please don't take my word for any of this , I know you are a smart guy so you can hopefully see the significance of this and why I believe the things that I do . Love and respect in Christ .

Richard IN 1 Corinthians 12:7 Paul writes concerning the manifestation or one of the nine outward displays of the gift

holy spirit. Best definition I've ever heard is the outward manifestation of the inward prasence of the power of holy

spirit. In the first century church this was not limited to the apostles other believers spoke in tongues and performed

miracles etc. It is interesting to note that to the corinthians in 14:18 Paul states I thank God I speak in tongues more than

ye all. So whats the benefit. Acts 2:11 speaking the wonderful works of God, Private prayer life 1 Cor. 14:4+5 Edification

of our spirit 1 Cor. 14:4, communication with God in divine mysteries or secrets. 1 Cor. 14:2, giving thanks well 1 Cor 14:17

keeps us aware we are Gods children and joint heirs with Christ Roman8:16, helps us with our infirmities Romans8:26,

makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God Romans 8:26+27,strenghthens us with His might in the Inner

man Ephesians 3:16, sign to unbelievers in the church new people 1 Cor.14:12. These are all the wonderful benefits again all

things of God are profitable and glorify Him when operated correctly in order with Gods LOVE. P.S. I've seen many times

these things are more in total confusion. LAST 1 Cor. 14:40 Let everything be done decently and in order. That's Godly Amen
