Again, good post. Love the work that you did here with others in the name of the Jesus our Lord. I am sure it brought a great harvest over time. You were willing to move when the Lord said, move and go where the Lord said, go. And then stay, when the Lord said, stay, to gifts. Lovely.

Dear Free, I love the verses you shared. Thank you. I read these often and endeavor to apply them to my life.

I get what you are getting at here. I could quote many Scripture verses with my posts as many do, but I normally do not because so much of what is said on here is opinion and many people may feel that they can give their opinion authority by quoting Scripture. I don't wish to do that because I know I am fallible. Instead, I will explain my view and hope that others will get out their concordance and look up what the Word says on a topic for themselves, so they can determine whether to accept my view or not.

If someone quotes a Scripture, I try to speak to that particular Scripture. You may notice that I rarely initiate discussion on a topic or Bible verse. I am not interested in that as much as I am about responding to what others post.

I am not interested in stirring up controversy, nor being divisive, not in drawing attention to myself. I just am being honest and posting my responses from a point of loving desire for others to seek and discover God's truth in His Word.

It seems that we are in a generation that seems to be intolerant of healthy, deep discussion of faith because in such discussions, differences will arise and therefore, a topic will volley back and forth between persons until it has been well presented by both parties. I welcome people to criticize what I post about matters of faith. I also welcome criticism about what people think I intend or my way of delivery. That gives me a chance to clarify any misconceptions people may have about why I say things as I do.

But, with all this said, FREE, I am glad you posted. Thank you for giving me food for thought.

David, I think Jesus always intended to be the Messiah to all mankind, not just the Jews. He could have come just after Adam and Eve sinned, but he did not. He could have come after the flood in Noah's day, but He did not. He could have come when the Israelites were slaves in Egypt, but He did not. He could have come after the fall of Jerusalem in 70 A.D., when the temple was demolished and the Jews were scattered, but He did not. the Bible states that Jesus came in the fullness of time in the fulfillment of the prophecies, die for all mankind. Whether the Jews accepted Him or not was not a determining factor in whether the gospel was preached and availed to the Gentiles as well as the Jews. If the Jews would have accepted Jesus, He still would have been put to death by some decree. (Herod intended to end is life as an infant.)

And if the Jews had received Jesus as their Messiah and as a nation preached so after His death, resurrection, and ascension, then the gospel would have gone out to the world through many rather than through a few Jews who were His disciples.

Yes, God foreknew that the Jews would reject Him both before and after His death, resurrection, and ascension. But that does not mean that God had to go to plan B and send the gospel to the Gentiles. It was always His plan to bless all nations with the gospel through the seed of Eve, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. That is why Jesus incarnated as a child of Abraham, to fulfill the prophecy.

Dear Alex, I am not judging you as a person, but I do think that you have posted a great deal of error that I believe to be harmful, especially to those who are young in the Lord. I think this forum is an open forum for the posting of spiritual ideas. But one who posts cannot expect their views too not be scrutinized. I expect that people will do that to mine. And if someone thinks that a view has been posted as false teaching, we should speak up and say so. Someone may say that of me at some point, and I would take what people would say into consideration and study to see if I am in error or not.

I believe that, as a Christian Bible Forum, we are to be concerned about what is posted and not simply let every idea have no evaluation or rebuttal. That would be unloving in my eyes. We are to encourage one another, but also correct and exhort.

I understand that not everyone is able to receive a "negative" response to what they post. And I do not intend to hurt anyone's feelings, nay, I wish to spur one on to study further after receiving a "negative" response to find out for sure if one is correct or in error in the idea that one posted. I certainly do that, I encourage you to do so, too.

I am thankful to have been brought to this forum. I am learning much from so many people. I don't think I have posted derogatory remarks, as you say as I never intend to tear down anyone. I have posted rebuttals and have stated that some statements are false teachings, just as was done by the epistle writers. They are our examples, as Paul has said for us to imitate him. I would welcome comment from the site moderators if they think I am out of line in my responses.

Alex, I pray for you and your beliefs, as well as others, and I hope that you pray for me in this way. If I did not love the brethren and God's Truth, I would not post a disagreement statement on some posts I feel teach error. To neglect to do so would be a betrayal of God and the truth. Take Care, Alex

    Dear Madison,

This is a good question on a "delicate" subject. I agree with Bro Dan on this, that it is sinful to self-pleasure oneself sexually. I believe that sexual pleasure was designed to be shared with a marriage partner in chaste behavior that involves intercourse, of in place of it. I believe this because God as connected sexual pleasure to marital relations the beginning with Adam and Eve and that God also connected marital relations to procreation from the beginning as well. Therefore, since God ordained this bonding of sexual expression in marriage in a procreative way, any deviation from it in any aspect I consider to be sinful. Not everyone sees things this way, but this view was a the norm up until tis past century.

    David,

I think that house to house fellowship is wonderful for those who have the availability to do this. This is a somewhat neglected element in many congregations. Such fellowship times meet the needs of many people.

Many people are also very blessed by weekly services at a church building. Pastors and teachers have a larger role in such congregations, and I think that this is good. Many congregations begin as house to house fellowships, but then "move" to a church building type of fellowship as their fellowship grows.

So I agree with you. God calls each person to the fellowship venue that will work well for them. And for some of us (myself included) church fellowship as been hurtful and even harmful for some regardless of "type" of fellowship. S, I can understand why some will seek a house fellowship style or even attending "church" at all, instead meeting with Christian friends for fellowship and bible study. Even this transition can be harmful to some. that is why we should be diligent in our walk Jesus, asking Him to keep our relationship with Him fervent and grounded in truth as we read, study, meditate on, and apply His Word to our daily lives.

    Madison,

I believe the verses spoken by Jesus below confirms that masturbation is sinful - if not in conjunction with a spouse.

    Matthew 5:28

"But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart."

    Mark 7:21

"For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,"

    God Bless.

It's Christmas, and it's cold outside, and so many people are dying of drug overdoses and drug related murders. I pray that God would help them to repent so they could come in from the cold and be warm and fed and have hope in peace in Jesus name amen

Madison The basic issue is self control, the sin part if any is your satisfying yourself instead of focusing on

things of God although temporarily. The other side is your not getting anyone else involved so basically if

no one knows that's between you and God. Sex drive is not the same with all people including believers.

That being said its still in the category of renewed mind self control.

Adam thank you. Your reply was very helpful also. Still crying! I appreciate you saying that my people make me feel bad for asking anything of them. I don't want that in my house anymore. They are not respecting me or God. God helped me to repent from sin, literally turn away from it, and delivered me from addictions in my life. I'm still not 100% perfect. Every time I think I have complete victory He shows me something else Lol. But I'm at the point where I'm willing to submit to God and let him have his way in my life I don't want to do my own thing anymore or do it my way. My way never works. Now I can truly say of the Lord is my shepherd

Thank you. I cried reading your reply. That's all I want is for my home to be a sanctuary where the Lord can live. I have had my own issues with drugs and I am sober and clean by choice. Is it easy not always. Is it possible yes. It breaks my heart because my family is so messed up from years of drug abuse and codependency that when I ask for some rules and boundaries I am treated like a bad person and made to feel guilty. Or even accused of lying. But I hurt because I want to help and be merciful I want to show the same mercy that I want from God for myself but if I gave them a full reign it would be a dope house here. Full of drugs and lies porn and demons. I have always had a hard time with boundaries and letting people walk on me. I don't want to enable people anymore and it's really hard. God delivered me from cigarettes drugs pills promiscuity lies demons you name it. I'm not getting any younger in life without God isn't worth living. Please pray for me that God will show me what I'm doing by putting up boundaries is the right thing

[We read] In KJV, Ezekiel 22:30: "And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none."

O God, please help us and teach us to build a wall [of prayer] around the USA, Canada, Poland, European Union and United Kingdom. Are you ready to stand in the gap, where God is the Helper and Teacher?

Dear believers: we continue the good fight to the end.

Please pray that United Kingdom, European Union, Poland, the USA, Canada would overcome for: (The Acts 26.18).

    * Poland and European Union, pray for freedom from dead religion to saving faith of Jesus Christ as the Saviour and the Lord,

    * the Church in the USA & Canada & United Kingdom - Pray for repentance and cleansing of the church - Matt. 3.12 "Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."

    * my family:

    1. Bad executives are hurting me. Please pray for God's order in that case.

    2. Stir up the hearts of my family for ministry for me, my wife Dorothy, our daughters Ann and Kristin, and our sons Peter and Daniel - "..but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" Joshua 24.15

    3. Pray for God's will, wisdom, discernment, revelation and recognition for me and my family; I ask God for Edmund's work situation, God's direction for Edmund , Dorothy, Peter, Daniel, Ann(also God's protection and blessings over the company where she works and she needs a husband) and Kristin,

    4. God's order in my work. I ask God for great wisdom at my work. Blessings and the knowledge of Jesus Christ for my bosses. Thank God for the continuation of my work.

    Hi Bro Alex

Yes, we all have the right to post our own interpretation of bible scripture here, as long as we are respectful. None of us are perfect, and all of us on this site are hopefully growing in our love of God, and our love for each other. If we have the Holy Spirit we should display love and patience with others.

And I agree with you - this site is a real blessing!

    God Bless you.

Jesus came to take away "the sin of the world" from the beginning!

    John 1:29

"The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world."

    God Bless.

Alex N. Years ago before being born again I went out to a large shopping mall to hang out, teenage years

and their we=as a group of people their who had these signs [Get smart get Saved] its was catchy. When I

walked up and asked what they mean't no one could give me a clear understanding of what it mean't to get

born again which now reminds me of Jeremiah 2:13 that being said it was a few years after that my prayer

was answered because I wanted to believe but no one could instruct correctly. That I see is still a problem.
  • Rick - In Reply - 4 years ago
Alex N. I'm not a critical finger pointer, that being stated our principle source of belief and practice is

supposed to be all the scripture correctly believed in the way and order that God states. In our day and

time that in itself Is rare and the product is division, not in heart of wanting to believe, in mind as to what

to believe. When you have people wandering if their actually born again or state they were then they weren't

and then they were again that's impossible biblically. These are the things I'm concerned about. That's mans

doubting on things that GOD HAD DONE THROUGH CHRIST WITH ABSOLUTION YE SHALL BE SAVED ABSOLUTE

TENSE With God there's no ifs, with men its just unbelief!

    Just Some Heart!

Gigi Just one point to give perspective on the church in our day and time compared to the church in the first

century in practice is earth to the moon. In the first century they fellowshipped house to house and broke bread

daily known as Love feast or agapeo feast I.E. the Love of God. Then as you stated to observe that which our

Lord and Saviour said to observe the last Supper and eventually His Resurrection or other memorials which would

enhance our fellowship and walk in the Body of Christ. God isn't looking at buildings or rituals, His target has

always been where's our hearts! I know people who have not been in a [church ] for years because of how they

were treated, but they have attended house to house fellowships breaking bread and bible studies and all other

activities that other places of worship do. In the first century the Apostle Paul went to the places of worship and

then those that believed went house to house. Just giving a perspective spiritually, I'll let God be the Judge!

    1 Samuel 14:49, 1 Samuel 18:20-28, 1 Samuel 19:11-18, 1 Samuel 22:1,5, 1 Samuel 23:13-14,24,29, 1 Samuel 24, 1 Samuel 25:44,

    2 Samuel 3:12-16, 2 Samuel 6:15-23,

    * 1 Samuel 6:23,

Note : 2 Samuel 21, vrs 8 "she brought up" didn't say bore, begot, or birthed. 1 Samuel 18:19, looks like she "brought up" her sister Merab's sons.

    Hopefully these are helpful.

Hi Donna Biblically there is a point where you don't give pearls to the swine, or in a nutshell tough love!

Years age a friend of mine got into dope, then got born again changed for awhile then I got a phone call

picked him up cleaned Him up ministered to Him and told Him very point blank. First and great commandment

with promise Love God with all your Heart soul mind and strength and love thy neighbor as thyself so is you don't

Love God you are not loving your own life. I had him move in with me and told Him any trace of abuse and your

history, three days later I met Him in the hallway with His suitcase a he was leaving because he broke His word.

I hugged Him and I knew and told Him dope will kill him, two years later He was dead. God will do everything to

deliver anyone BUT THEY HAVE TO WANT IT! You need to dismiss yourself from the situation or it will suck you

in or consume you so to speak. We have been made free in Christ don't let someone's else's bondage affect

your walk with God. NOTHING IS WORTH THAT P.S. SPIRIT IS THICKER THAN BLOOD! IT I WRITTEN

    MATHEW 12:47-50.
