Bro Dan In the Gospel of John 3:5 the reference to being born of water is is regards to human birth of the

fetus in water which has nothing to do with water baptism. This i just explaining the context not to argue.

Adam Something else to consider and this is not satan or any such junk, there is a difference between

honest heart for scripture and deceptive intent to Get someone to deny Gods Word. If you choose not to

discuss because you think it maybe deceptive I'll stop, but then nothing is learned on either end.

Adam I never view sharing any of the scripture as I'm right or there wrong my priority is to better

understand to bless others and vise versa. Jesus Christ came to fulfill the law which he did then in the completion

of that it opened up on Pentecost the age of Grace. You couldn't even get born again when Jesus was on earth because

that's what he came to make available. Even Jesus Christ had to be baptised to fulfill all righteousness which

was the law. Don't think it will offend me continuing the conversation again brother I never argue scripture it to

shared and intent is to get a greater understanding my position.

The Cross was the beginning of the NEW COVENANT The greatest event to ever grace this planet. Ever thing pales

in comparison to his Blood ....Most everything was done away with Circumcision , the levitical Priesthood. The temple

    ,

Thats y the veil was rent from the top to the bottom. No more sabbath day ,Now everyday is the Sabbath day, he wants

everyday holy, Abide in me and i in you 24/7..No more feast days , No more soleome assemblies...No more blood of

    bulls

and goats ,....Behold I make all things new...Thus we get a new heart and a new spirit, Which is the H.G. the CHILD

OF Promise...We get a NEW Priesthood after the order of Melechezedec,...And the very Kingdom of God is gonna be with

with in us ....No more levitical priesthood. No more Blood of bulls and goats ....Behold the lamb of GOD that taketh the

the sins of the world....no more water baptism is required.....The enorimity of the cross ( his blood ) overshadowed

every thing ....We cannot even look at any other offering for sin....When you tell folks they need to be water baptised

you are in essence saying his blood was not sufficient a slap in the face of God....Thats y God told Peter what i have

made clean do not call common or unclean....When Peter was commanding water baptism in that vision for the remssion

of sins....3 times the lord rebuked Peter with that sheet knit at the 4 corners which is the blood knit with the 4 gospels.

All the unclean animals are the CHURCH that was made clean by the blood of the lamb, Not water baptism that Peter was commanding....Peter does not command water baptism again after acts 11....Peter says after he understood the vision then remembered I the words of our lord John baptised you with water but i will baptise you with the H.G. AND FIRE...Mis ojos son solas para Christo.

I wanted to find the verse, where Jesus was telling the disciples that the widow's

    Hi Rick,

My interpretation of Acts 1:5 is that John only prepared the way for Jesus's ministry, so once Jesus came I believe baptism had a greater significance. So, my interpretation is before Jesus: water only. After Jesus: water + Holy Spirit.

"but its not a requirement for spiritual baptism, I was born again many year ago and was never water baptised."

When I read John 3:5 and Acts 2:38 I know exactly what it says and feel if it wasn't important it would not have been said. I think if baptism wasn't a necessary or important step of obedience, then Jesus wouldn't have baptized people and He clearly would have said to not get baptized. But He clearly said to get baptized. I don't think satan is deceiving me into believing I need to be MORE obedient to Jesus than I truly need to be, but the opposite would seem more likely.

Given that its a commandment from Jesus, it seems like an easy decision to me. And lets say you're right and I'm wrong, then there's no downside to getting baptized and honoring Jesus, is there? But if my interpretation of John 3:5 and Acts 2:38 is right and yours is wrong then you have an enormous downside to deliberately disobeying Jesus, do you not?

    God bless...

Hi Kristianna The only requirement in the Age of Grace which you and I live in to be born again of Gods

Spirit is to Confess Your sin and Confess with Mouth the Lord Jesus Christ and believe in thine heart that God

Hath raised Him from the dead and thou shalt absolute tense be saved, for with the heart man believeth unto

righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. It Is Written!

Adam If water baptism is necessary or required to be spiritually born again , explain Acts 1:5 where it says For John truly baptized with water but meaning in contrast ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

I'm not advocating don't be baptized in water, but its not a requirement for spiritual baptism,

I wa born again many year ago and was never water baptised.

Ludie Smith Mathew 11 verse 12 Before John the baptist there is a 4-500 year gap where there was

no men of God taking a stand. The kingdom of heaven suffereth violence or is always under attack, the

adversary Is always accusing Gods people who take stand on His Word.

The enemies primary purpose is to eventually shut up or stop Gods

Word from being held forth, which is why he thought eliminating Jesus Christ was all he had to do.

  • GiGi again - In Reply on Matthew 24 - 4 years ago
    Hello Bill,

Thank you for bringing those scriptures forward. I look forward to that day. I am 65 and may not be alive wen this happens, but will be one that is raised from the dead. But then again, it may happen in my lifetime. Each day, week, year that passes does bring us closer to that wonderful day when Jesus appears to claim His bride and rule and reign on earth.

So, we probably be prepared spiritually for it as much as we are able to be sanctified in this life by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we are exhorted to not resist the Holy Spirit and what He wants to accomplish in us in this life to serve and help others lovingly, and to prepare us for when our time in eternity begins.

  • Adam - In Reply - 4 years ago
Hello, as per your question the Bible doesn't say you "don't have to" be baptized. It says you do, but of course we have freewill to choose who we want to follow in this life- and whether to do good or evil.

Here is Jesus's command to His followers: John 3:5

"Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."

So, the real question is: if someone claims to be a Jesus follower (a Christian), but doesn't follow what Jesus says, how serious are they about following Jesus? And do they really love Jesus? John 14:15.

Would a genuine Christ follower always be looking to do the bare minimum they assume is required to "be saved" -or- give everything in their life to Christ, perhaps beyond what they assume is required?

Matthew 7:22 - this seems to be an unpopular reality for some believers who are uncomfortable with Jesus's words that many will assume they're "saved" but will not be. Given this scenario already predicted by Jesus, and given that someone desires to go to heaven, is it safer to obey Jesus or look for ways to disobey Him?

    God bless...

John 7 : 39 John says when Jesus spoke of water, this speak he of the spirit for the H.G. was not yet given

b/c that Christ was not yet glorified....And John said outta of his belly shall flow RIVERS of living water THATS THE

THE H.G.....His seed etc...his Children...the babes and the sucklings....His multiplication as his Father has promised

are gona be as the stars of heaven.....When he breathe on them he was propagating very God with his seed his WORD

As Isaiah said he will see his seed etc....He has to propagate himself in humanity thats the GREAT PROMISE

OF MULTIPLCATION MIGHT BE FULFILLED...Remember It was the Father that swore by himself that Christ wd be

multiplied as the STARS OF HEAVEN.....Faith is gonna result in a heavenlly birth ...As faith is the substance of things

things hoped for the evidence of things not seen ...Faith comes by hearing the living word which is also a seed that

is gonna form a baby Christ in us....Thats y he always refers t himself as the Son of MAN, MANKIND IS GONNA

HAVE A BABY.... Rev 12 : 5 SHE BROUGHT FORTH A MAN CHILD THAT IS GONNA RULE ALL NATIONS WHICH IS THE

H.G....EMANUEL GOD WITH US...Jesus said when he the spirit of truth is come will abide with you forever. The H.G.

    Kristiannna,

There is no place in the bible that tells us that we don't have to be baptized, conversely, there is much scripture that tells us that we do need to be baptized.

In addition to believing in Jesus to be saved, we are told by Jesus to be baptized.

    John 3:5

"Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."

Except we be born of water and the Spirit (Holy Spirit) we can not enter into the kingdom of God! This is a very powerful and easy to understand message.

Apostle Peter also confirms baptism below, so we must repent, be baptized, and we will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

    Acts 2:38

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

In summary, the bible scripture clearly states what we must do regarding regarding baptism. If anyone says different, they are lying, and telling you to ignore this and other powerful scripture!

    God Bless.

Hi Donna, I have not as of yet. When the Lord leads me to do so on the testimony page, I will. I have posted some responses that recall some of the amazing things that God has done in my life, but I don't tend to do that much. I prefer to share what I have learned from a lifetime of walking with the Lord. I am 65 and have known Jesus all of my life. I so wanted to only know the truth that I began reading the Bible for myself at age 9 because I knew that it was the true words of God. From then on I continued to pray to God to show me what is true about Him and spiritual matters.

Funny thing, I stopped reading fiction at that time (5th grade) because I only wanted to read what is true. I instead read non-fiction-science books, biographies, encyclopedias, dictionary, besides the Bible. Not saying this as a recommendation, because I kind of missed out on many classic children's novels of the time. Some of them I eventually read as an adult training to be a teacher or as a mom. But I know that God put this desire for "the truth, and noting but the truth" in me and He as guided me and guarded me over the years so that I was not readily sucked into the newest "fad" idea in church circles over the years. I was raised in a traditional mainline church. In college and beyond my husband and I participated in Assemblies of God and Four Square church fellowships until the late 1990's. then God led us into a Covenant church for a while, and then we were called back to my husband's roots in a conservative Missouri Synod Lutheran Church, which we still have some affiliation with, although covid has kept us pretty much homebodies because I have 5 high risk factors. I have had times were I was involved in regular church fellowship and times when I was "in between" for a 5-7 years at a time. In all of these circumstances, God has been faithful to stay with me and lead me in the right paths. My life over all would sound pretty boring to most people. But I am fine with that.

There is only 1 baptism of Promise , Which is baptism of the H.G. and fire that only Jesus can do...Three times our Lord

said John baptised you with water but I will baptise you with the H.G. AND FIRE....Who shall abide the day of his coming

who shall stand when he appears for he shall be as a refiners fire and fullers soap Mal 3 : 2 kjv....The Gift of God is the

H.G. and fire but its also his judgement and his love etc....Whom the lord loveth he chastens

Can you know a person by his word without seeing their actions in life? I have been speaking to this man who I have not dated. He claims to be sold out to Christ but wants a committment based upon conversations without real personal experience spending time with them what does the bible say about this

Whenever I hear the recent song (I am not sure who sings it or the exact title) about "dry bones" and the command for dry bones to "come alive, come alive" I speak my sons' names into the part that say "I cray out to dry bones" nd substitute their names for the dry bones part!

Thanks for the reminder! I'll pull up that song on you tube and use it to pray for my sons to be revived to faith.
