There were many religions and variations on Christianity at that time. The Roman Empire needed an overarching religion that could integrate non-Roman people under a single creed. Christianity is the religion THEY selected. But Christianity had multiple variants and to be credible as a single creed, it needed to be 'streamlined'. That is why PEOPLE from multiple parts of the empire were selected and assembled to sift through and agree which parts of which texts would form the basis of the Christianity. IE, the Roman Empire organised the crafting of the bible deciding which texts were to be included for its own purpose. With much argument and debate, and repression of opposing points of view, the killing by the Church of many who were guardians of texts that had not been included. The KJV Bible is a translation of the documents carefully selected by that same Church under the political leadership of the Roman Empire. This is well-established by historians who do not dispute this.

To learn who I truly am, to be what I am intended to do and to not be lazy in the Lords work. To not feel lost. To settle for nothing less than Gods will. To be eager to learn Gods words and soak them up like a sponge. Amen.

I agree with you Kyle and I have been trying to inform others about this and some believe it and of course, others don't and then they are those who say they believe to your face & then laugh at you and call you awful names behind your back but I still believe it and I am not and will not give up because I feel that it is our place to say it and hope for the best and Remember that GOD is in control and someday soon we will be with him in glorious Heaven where we will spend eternity. What A Wonderful Day That Is Going To Be Kyle. GOD Bless You All And GOD IS And Always Will Be Here With Us And He WILL NOT Make Us Fight This Battle Alone. Let's Not Focus On The Battle, Just Remember That It's Already Been Won And Someday Soon We Shall Receive Our "Reward"... Eternal Life With Our Awesome Lord And Savior.

Open your heart! Don't put limits on wisdom or knowledge nor should we limit the simple teachings of the Savior. We, including Jesus, are all spirit children of God the Farther. He is our brother of whom, given the agency to choose, is now reveling in His Devine inheritance! We all are capable by birth right to inherit Kingdom's beyond our comprehension. The Atonement, the beautiful gift of repentance, and our own choices and honored covenants, will determine the degree of glory, We choose our own inheritance, by works recorded in the Lambs Book is Life. The scripture is plain! Believe! James 1:5 will help.

The 7th day was blessed before Adam was created; only the races had been created (6th day). So it wasn't for the Jews but for mankind. On March 7, 321 Roman Emperor Constantine I issued a civil decree making Sunday a day of rest from labor, stating: All judges and city people and the craftsmen shall rest upon the venerable day of the sun. Constantine chose Sunday to be the day for Christian worship as it already enjoyed special status in the Roman week. Named after the Pagan Sun God Invictus, Sunday had become the day when wages were paid to workers, leading it to be seen as a day of celebration and thanks. In corresponding the Christian Sabbath with an already established day of rest, Constantine ensured that his decree would be accepted swiftly and harmoniously.

Council of Laodicea - 364 AD is where the catholic church made worshiping on the sabbath illegal and required it to be on the first, which was the day of Sun worship. Think GOD likes being worshiped on pagan holiday.

(Continuing comment). So if he was 'deceived' by all this, then the whole Gospel account is false, i.e. Christ didn't die for our sins, didn't arise, didn't ascend, didn't send us His Spirit & He isn't at God's RH interceding for us. All false teaching based on NOT Paul's deception/perception, but on Satan's lies & deception to the world to keep them in darkness & hid from the Truth. Please also read 1 Jn 5, partic. noting v13: we may be certain of eternal life.
  • Chris - In Reply on Mark 4 - 6 years ago
To Javier. I respond to your post & not to the original, which is too old. To first clarify: 1 Cor 15:30,31 shows Paul speaking of his (& other apostles) continual persecution & facing death for the testimony of Christ; NOT to gain favour (or as you maybe thinking: progress to complete salvation). And all this in context of the previous verses: on the fact of resurrection; that if resurrection was not a certainty for him (& to all who believe), they why should he (Paul) allow suffering to be his daily portion; he could 'eat, drink & be merry'. (See following comment).
  • Chris - In Reply on Philippians 4:17 - 6 years ago
(Rest of comment). Thus Jesus Christ = The Saviour Who is Anointed. Only Jesus could be given this Name & Title together: no one else could ever fill this role of giving of His Life for the sins of mankind. Even though, the word 'Yeshua' or Joshua, is the Hebrew word for 'Jesus", a Joshua of any period of time could never have the 'Christos' attached to his name. So, Jesus Christ is referred to as the Son of the Living God. We know that God is One & is a Spirit Being, so He can't bear offspring; so by offering of Himself for the payment of mankind's sins (as man can't pay at all for his sin), He sent forth His Word ( Jn 1:1-14) clothed in humanity for our sakes. Felix, I'm unsure whether you want to know more about the One called Christ, or the origin of the name. So, the latter first, the word Christ is Christos in Greek; & Masiah (Messiah) in Hebrew & both mean, "one who is anointed". Jesus, of course, means "he who delivers/rescues; Mt 1:21 "He shall SAVE His people from their sins". (Rest of this comment next)
  • Kevin - In Reply on John 5 - 6 years ago
Being judged and sent to hell has nothing to do with you being a good person. It has everything to do with who you say Jesus is. Only He can provide us with redemption thru His Blood alone. We must believe in the True Gospel - His Death, His Burial, and His Resurrection. For God gave us the good report of His Son Jesus in John 3:16. If we believe this then we have life if not then death abides in us. The SIN of unbelief in Jesus is the only SIN that will prevent us from going to Heaven. For salvation is a free gift from GOD to those that believe that JESUS is THE CHRIST.
  • Chris - In Reply on John 8:47 - 6 years ago
In Jn chap 8, Jesus was dealing with the religious leaders of his day (Scribes & Pharisees). Jesus gave them some powerful, accusatory words (see the whole chapter). But He also told them that they couldn't understand Him because they couldn't hear him (couldn't grasp heavenly teaching). He told them that He brought them God's Word, the Truth, but they refused to believe Him because their father wasn't God but the Devil. So to verse 47: Jesus said, "He is that is of God heareth God's Words", or the person that is obedient to God & His laws (not the Jews traditions & interpretations), can grasp the meaning & live accordingly. So he told them that since they could not grasp spiritual things, this proved that God was not their Father, but Satan was. Then of course, they began to accuse Jesus of being demon possessed. In your desire to hear from God, you must attend to His Word, the Bible & listen out for His Spirit's Voice to speak to your heart & give you Light.

Now unto abraham and his seed was the Promise made, but he says not unto seeds plural but unto 1 seed which is Christ thus its Christ that is gonna be Multiplied as the stars of heaven, thats y the sower wants to sow his precious seed in our hearts that it might initiate a birth of Christ in US n the Child is the H.G. AS THAT WHICH IS BORN OF THE SPIRIT IS SPIRIT.Ya gotta realize that the FATHER was so passionate about this great Promise that he swore by his very self. Thats y Jesus refers to the H.G as th PROMISE he is the multiplication of Christ/GOD ( SHE BROUGHT FORTH A MANCHILD THAT IS GONNA RULE ALL NATIONS WE ARE THE WOMAN TH CHILD IS TH H.G. NOTE: THE KINGDOM COMES WITH TH BIRTH OF THE MANCHILD which is soon Rev 12 v 10. Unless ya receive th kingdom as a lil Child you will in no wise enter there in.The lil child implies a heavenly birth via that good seed th Word these heavenly children are the Israel of God The Children of Promise,The new covenant is gonna get louder n louder.

True they were not robotic. Some people believe God put the tree there so they would be free. Free to make a choice. Sadly they were deceived and did not believe that death would be the real end result of a bad decision.

If I could use some of your Scripture references: 1 Tim 3:16 speaks of the mystery of Godliness. What was it? That God came in the flesh. Who was He/What was His Name? You know the answer. And indeed it was Jesus Who was preached unto the Gentiles. Isa 43:10: "..before Me there was no god formed, neither shall there be after me. Amen to that, that our God is from Eternity to Eternity & beside Him there is no-one else. Jesus is certainly not another god formed, He IS God's Word come in the flesh ( Jn 1:1-14). Rev 1:13: "..like unto the Son of Man". Left with this description, we could be wondering, but v18 qualifies the Man: "I am He that liveth & WAS DEAD.." Likewise with Isa 43:11: "beside Me there is no Saviour", Yahweh was Israel's Saviour. Heb 1:2: "..His Son..heir of all things, by Whom He made the worlds": the Word's creative work. Not 3 gods.

YES! It is an abomination in the eyes of god! read 1 timothy 1:9-10, Romans 1:26-27, the bible clearly states that it is a shameless act and has a due penalty. God in his word in Jude 1:7 says that Sodom and Gomorrah served as an example of hat will happen if you peruse the unnatural lusts of the flesh- you will be cast into eternal fire!

Where do you think the word Sodomy comes from? its a word of shameful acts against god.

Hi, Sheldon okay so I am a young teen Christian and I believe that as long as you are saved and you love God and Jesus I think that you should be okay. But I am not God and I can not tell you 100% what will happen. But just pray to God every night before you go to sleep and ask God to forgive your sins. I do, and I always feel better. Just trust in God Sheldon that is the only advice I can truly give you because I dont know the Bible as most people do.

Helena, in the Eastern/Middle Eastern culture of that time, the right & proper thing to do for the widow was that she was cared for & provided for. She wasn't just a baby-maker, because the unmarried brother was duty-bound to look after his deceased brother's wife. And of course, there was a sense of societal stigma associated with an unattached woman. In other words, in those cultures it would be awful for a woman to be 'left on the shelf'. Refer to the book of Ruth to get the full story: a good example of widow Ruth, a Moabitess lady, who married Boaz, a kinsman-redeemer (also a picture of Christ's redeeming work for those He purchases). In India, amongst Hindus, if a woman's husband died, she could not face the shame of being on her own & unprotected, so while he was being cremated, she would then cast herself alive on the funeral pyre (known as Sati, pron. Sutti). This has been outlawed now, but still goes on in remote parts. I hope this gives you better understanding.

If you choose to drink a glass of wine with spaghetti that's your God given free choice . You are free from the laws and customs of man . Christ is not sitting waiting to punish you over a glass or two of wine nor a can or two of beer . Now if you are around someone whom it may offend then don't drink it . Do not indulge yourselves to being high or drunk for the body's sake to put it to harm . Live your life free before God and trust him to tell you what's wrong and not another mans opinions and his teaching .
