We are in the period of time referred to above as the "falling away". The body of Christ is lukewarm. Neither hot nor cold. Teachers with itching ears manifest a religious tone, but reject the deity of Jesus Christ and the power of the Gospel. Instead, they pervert the Gospel. Because we have turned from God, we are experiencing God's judgement. Perilous times. Next, comes the translation.
  • Brother William on 2 Thessalonians 2 - 9 years ago
"The falling away" is not "the coming out of her lest you be a PARTAKER of her sins and receive of her plagues." "The Spirit speaks expressly that in the latter days some will depart from the faith giving heed to seducing spirits." When the abomination that makes desolate is revealed standing in the holy place, "the whole head is sick, and the body full of putrifying sores."
    Watch and pray.

Satan is the son of perdition. The word perdition in the Greek:

    684. apoleia ap-o'-li-a from a presumed derivative of 622; ruin or loss (physical, spiritual or eternal):--damnable(-nation), destruction, die, perdition, X perish, pernicious ways, waste.

In other words, the only named person to perish. He is the serpent/beast/antichrist/ the devil, etc. Look back at Isaiah chapter 14 v. 12-15.

Verse 3 says "man" not men and that's something to think about. Then it speaks of the falling away where people leave the church religions that they grew up in and join a one world church which is the great apostacy. Why? Who's coming to town the false messiah instead of Christ or antichrist the son of perdition and the first seal brings in a man on a white horse with a crown that looks real.FAKE.

  • Word on 2 Thessalonians 2 - 10 years ago
Verse 7 is saying that sin is already in the world because of Satans spirit is working evil. Verse 8 is speaking of Satan being held by Michael as Revelation 12 tells us and when God gives Michael the order Satan will be released and kick to earth and not in war but peace a false messiah to gather his worshippers who are ignorant of the scriptures and THEN the True Christ comes. TRUTH!

Verses:7-8: meaning -the grossly unfair behavior that is perceived as a reason for war will be supported by nations that enter WW3.The Wicked are nuclear weapons.Joseph called himself, lord of the land. Often lord means the ruler of a nation. Nuclear war is a mystery to people in the past. The spirit of his mouth=wireless communication between the lord

Paul is seriously explaining. verse 3 falling away a great apostacy people leave their religions join together to worship instead of CHRIST antichrist in a one world religion thinking it's the true CHRIST . Let no man talk you into that or you will be one of the deceived who say they are not a widow and when true CHRIST returns and the man of sin is revealed the son of death Satan. Big trouble.

1 John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists whereby we know that it is the last time. 1 Peter 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? 18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

    Matthew Chapter 24

37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Psalms 145:20 The LORD preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy. Ecclesiasticus 10:19 They that fear the Lord are a sure seed, and they that love him an honourable plant: they that regard not the law are a dishonourable seed they that transgress the commandments are a deceivable seed. Ecclesiasticus 34:16 For the eyes of the Lord are upon them that love him, he is their mighty protection and strong stay, a defence from heat, and a cover from the sun at noon, a preservation from stumbling, and an help from falling. Ecclesiasticus 51:2 For thou art my defender and helper, and has preserved my body from destruction, and from the snare of the slanderous tongue, and from the lips that forge lies, and has been mine helper against mine adversaries: Colossians 3:6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

Norm you point being that when CHRIST returns He returns with a Rod of iron and with scripture we know that fire mixed with hail stones will be falling. So with that being said we know don't chase after the first false messiah that comes saying he is God and sitting in Jerusalem saying he is going to fly people away who will follow him.
  • Norm on 2 Thessalonians 2 - 10 years ago
It is written... John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Matthew 24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ and shall deceive many. 2 Thessalonians 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. Proverbs 22:3 A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished. Isaiah 57:1 The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come. Proverbs 10:18 He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool. Matthew 24: 48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming 49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken 50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, 51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Proverbs 8:13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

When antichrist gets here and the falling away happens where everyone is saying Jesus is here but it's not the true Christ and Satan deceives the whole world and they chase after him as he sits in Jerusalem calling himself God that's the falling away that is spoken of.
  • John madden on 2 Thessalonians 2:8 - 10 years ago
Once god allows his holy spirit to restrain from keeping evil at its full force .then the man of sin begins his rule and deception
  • John madden on 2 Thessalonians 2:7 - 10 years ago
The holy spirit is the restrainer he keeps evil restrained but he will remove the restraining for a peroid of time to allow the antichrist to decieve
  • John madden on 2 Thessalonians 2:6 - 10 years ago
There could be a sense of govenment but in all truth this means the holyspirt will lift the restraining power that withholds evil to a certin degree right now but when he lifts the restraint evil will be unimaginable.the antichrist will have all the power he needs to decieve and control the apostates.
  • John madden on 2 Thessalonians 2:4 - 10 years ago
He will present himself as almighty god many will be decieved he will lead the apostates by his deception.and his mark will prove he decieved them the church should warn believers and the world about this man of sin.
  • John madden on 2 Thessalonians 2:3 - 10 years ago
Read your bible not books about the bible .he says the day of thelord which means christs second comeing will not come until the falling away and the antichrist is revealed.apostasy first then .antichrist comes thier associated.then chrst comes .read it its a simple statement
  • Word on 2 Thessalonians 2 - 10 years ago
Norm you sew.great pillows as Ezekiel 13 vs 18 says and read on that the preachers in the fig tree generation would do and how divinely they would dream out of their minds and came up with sewing pillow cases together to make a blanket to hide Gods loving hands from His salvation from His children and came up with their easy fly away doctrine of rapture that's NOT in the Bible. When instead of Christ gets here antichrist the tickets will be on sale at gate first one taken and I know all rapture preachers say, I want to be the first one taken! Have a nice trip.
  • Word on 2 Thessalonians 2 - 10 years ago
Tony the falling away is the great apostacy meaning all the people will fall away from Believing in the true Christ and turn to a false instead of Christ that comes first as the 1st seal of chapter 6 of Revelation tells us that a fake king with a fake crown and bow shows up on a white horse and looks just like the Lamb of God with 2 horns of power and sits in Jerusalem and when he does it turns to the city of confusion or Babylon anyway he is Satan and he will be the one preaching as he did when he tempted Christ in the desert with twisted Scriptures and lies and he knows the scriptures and just how to lie anyway the message he preaches is he will fly you away so that's who you want to see about the rapture.
  • Caroline on 2 Thessalonians 2 - 10 years ago
It is very prophetic. Those who have ear let them hear.
  • Norm on 2 Thessalonians 2 - 10 years ago
Tony, First, I pray the LORD moves me by Spirit to speak truth and not my own interpretation. Verse 3 is related to those saved per God's will, or the rapture. The son of perdition, destruction or antichrist has been revealed to some according to God's will. See middle eastern president who's last name in Arabic translates to The Lion, who's birthday is Sept 11 1965. The Church will be taken prior to that Wicked one being revealed to the entire world. May the LORD JESUS CHRIST save us from this evil. Bless JESUS our Saviour. Amen

This is in response to Lorraine's question. Without doing a complete Bible and Strong's Exhaustive Concordance search, this is what was found that came up first using the methods that I mention below. Rom 1:25 KJV Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. Psalms 52:3 KJV Thou lovest evil more than good and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah. Lorraine, you could just Google "They rather hear a lie than hearing the truth?" Or use the search engine of the Bible Website i.e. where it says, SEARCH THE BIBLE, type in "They rather hear a lie than hearing the truth?" and then click the Search button. You could also shorten it down to "Lie than truth" and do the same things mentioned above Also, you could darken in "They rather hear a lie than hearing the truth?" or "lie than truth" and right click it and a little box of choices will come up and click on the one that has a search engine with it and then choose the website that has a Bible Title especially if it is the KJV
