6:2 For he saith - The sense is, As of old there was a particular time wherein God was pleased to pour out his peculiar blessing, so there is now. And this is the particular time: this is a time of peculiar blessing. #Isaiah 49:8|.

2Co 6:2 For he saith. See Isa 44:8. In the day of salvation have I succored thee. The prophecy is an offer of salvation to the Gentiles, to whom the Corinthians belonged. The point is that God has offered the salvation, but that "now [is] the accepted time", and it is not safe to neglect it.
