2And the feare of you, & the dread of you shall be vpon euery beast of the earth, and vpon euery fowle of the aire, vpon all that mooueth vpon the earth, and vpon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they deliuered. 3Euery mouing thing that liueth, shalbe meat for you; euen as the greene herbe haue I giuen you all things. 4But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall you not eate. 5And surely your blood of your liues will I require: at the hand of euery beast will I require it, & at the hand of man, at the hand of euery mans brother will I require the life of man. 6Who so sheddeth mans blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

Wesley's Notes for Genesis 9:4
9:4 But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat - Blood made atonement for the soul, #Lev 17:11|. The life of the sacrifice was accepted for the life of the sinner. Blood must not be looked upon as a common thing, but must be poured out before the Lord, #2Sam 23:16|. Mr. Henry indeed has a strange conceit, That this is only a prohibition to eat flesh. This does such apparent violence to the text, that to mention it, is sufficient.

8 years AgoMac Daniel Amu for verse 27The prophetic fulfilment of this scripture was when the Gentiles became part of the Church which is of Christ the root of Shem."Japheth shall dwell in the tents of Shem". This is true when Gentiles become Christian, they recieve the blessings of enlargement. May you blessed and the God of Shem gives ample room as you dwell in the tents of Shem!Flag

Noah placed a Generational Curse on Ham the father of Caanan, which affected Esau for disobeying the parents and went married a caananite wife and subsequently robbed him of first son 's inheritance engineered by her mother.Flag
