Anthony, Good question. We are not to murder, we are allowed to protect our family. I mean really when someone breaks into the house to rape your daughter and murder the family are going to say GOD BLESS YOU?

Exodus 22:2 If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him.

If a thief (you do not know why he is there, maybe to kill) is struck and killed you are guiltless.

Jesus in Luke 22:36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

Why did Jesus tell his disciples to buy a sword? Not to murder, rather to protect themselves and family.

1 Timothy 5:8 But if any PROVIDE provide NOT not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel. (provide what? Food, shelter, clothing and PROTECTION)
  • John L QUESTION ON 10 COMMANDMENTS on Matthew 4:7 - 4 years ago
There are two sets of Ten Commandments. Exodus 20:1-17 and Exodus 34:10-28.

TWICE Moses went upon the mountain and did not eat or drink for 40 days!

The 10 Commandments of Exodus 34:10-28 are specifically referred to as "the ten commandments" ( Exodus 34:28, Deuteronomy 4:13, 10:4)

There are differences in the two sets of Commandments. Which set are we to follow? Are we to combine them?

Question came up yesterday in sunday school and was asked about the bible saying thou shalt not kill. How does that go with a person defending their family and have to kill someone to protect them and also going to defend our country in war?

I don't remember from everybody's studies on Adam and Eve; There's been so many.

This chapter is on first Adam and 2nd Adam. Some mentions to the Caught Up.

I will make notes on it tomorrow. For one chapter it's really full. I want to know your thoughts too.

In these days who do we turn to? Mankind or our Father in Heaven. Who died and suffered for all our sins in this evil world?

Jesus is coming back soon, so His Father can have our Glory of Creation He gave us long ago. But Satan took us and put thoughts in our mind turning alot of us away from the Love we could of had. Is it no wonder thru my trials l now turn away from man. Alone l talk to my God. In my heart l here His replies. I write what l know to help others. I wish years past l had not stayed in this world of evilness. I learned the hard way to get to my Father now. Am so Protected by Him. Loved by His Strength. Helping the less fortunate and seeing through the evilness the enemy put in them- I try to help. But most of the times mankind does not know that the heart if completely open to the Word of God, could stand as a rock and not move when the storm's hit. For they could become a mighty warrior for the kingdom of God.....

The disciples were predistinated before Jesus came to capernaum. It was a double blessing for the 12 disciples. God knew all about how these disciples would respond to the the three wonderful years of preaching and teaching and the miracles that our Lord Jesus Christ did. Now to show that he can do anything ,but to giveythe glory to his father

Christ missionary service begins with dealing with the adversary. Many new Christians in their journey will experience these same trials. It is part of our growing experience, in knowing the fundamentals of being a child of God.These temps. could be a number of things ,even addictions. These are the basics in the reality of life in the spirit.Christ uses gods word to rebuke Satan. He knows the word, because He is the word.We must put on the whole Armour of God. That ye may withstand the wiles of the devil. We see then a time that the angels come and minister unto him, then being directed by the spirit to do and go where He pleased. Overcoming Satan and his wiles is indeed a part of a Christian followers life. You cannot overcome Satan without the word of God .Satan is determined to control your flesh at all cost. Be sure of one thing that you will not always win! Christ conquered Satan while here on earth and for eternity.Satan days are numbered. Christ died for you and is with you always

How honored to be asked to be fishers of men. Little did these men understand the adventure God was about to lead them in.#1 prerequisite for fishing is patience, waiting for that moment, when they come! Waiting ,while watching intently. This is what Christ wants from us. He wants us watching and waiting for Him. Your lord is coming for you , He wants you to have your lights burning, your loins wrapped tight. The trip you will be making is into eternal life, a heaven made without hands reserved in heaven for you! It will never fade away, waiting and prepared for u in the cosmos. Everlasting ,no sin no more death, only life a life without end. The days are short , remember what He said, that He will come in a hour that you think not.

Verse 9 Satan was really after getting Jesus to worship him, but worship should only be rendered to Jehovah God alone.
  • Francois French on Matthew 4 - 5 years ago
Matt 4:7-11 confirms that Jesus Christ is truly God in the flesh contrary to what other religious sects say. And He himself said it, that He cannot be tempted because He is God. His authority as Creator is absolute, rebuking the created by His Word and ordering it to depart.

I love this chapter of the gospel because it explains the birth of the ministry of Jesus Christ. The beginning of grace and salvation. In addition to this, when Matthew authored this gospel he wanted it to be understood as a legitimate new interpretation of the law of Moses because it was written for the "Jewish Christian" audience and an appropriate transition from OT to NT.

John 6: 25-59 Jesus is the bread of life. Eating the flesh of Jesus and drinking his blood he will remain in us and we will remain in him.
Angels came to minister to Jesus. We don't need to bow to wrong doing. God will give us what we need.

For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the fle

“This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.”

    Luke 4
16 The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.

O Satan, thou devil of devils: you fail yet again in your vain attempts to deceive the Son of God, even this Christ child, into not knowing himself. Know ye not my Holy Father gives not the Spirit by measure unto him? It is written, If we believe not, yet he abides faithful: he cannot deny himself. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

    - An all powerful God manifested in the flesh spared with a demi god of this world. Satan used his best set of tricks, the ones he uses on us as well, to try to get Jesus to give in even if just in a tiny way. God cannot be successfully tempted, bargained with nor bribed. Jesus used the Word of God to refute Satan. Nothing in the word of God allows any of Lucifer's devices.

After Jesus came down off the mountain, he began to preach, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. (v.17) And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues,
This is the VERY place Paul was sent to spread the message. ( Acts 9:15) And Paul headed straight for the nearest synagogue ( Acts 9:20)...........The Syrian people are the people Jesus was sent to ( John 1:11)

Repent for the kingdom of God is at hand. This is slso what Jonh the Bsptist spoke to begin his ministry. Why not? They grew up together being only 6 months difference in age. Was John the first to baptise? It was never spoken of in the Torah. What did John baptise his followers into? Repentance. To repent is to embsrk on a different path, having seen the error of your way.
