the sin of blaspheming the holy ghost can not be committed by a believer for its actual meaning is to resist salvation and he who refuses to believe what the holy ghost does in order to draw him to Christ commits this sin for its only through Christ that we are forgiven our sins

Lloyd Martin: You have a point! I always thought about this. The demons themselves knew who Jesus was. Jesus clearly said that the father is greater than he is. Sooo, how are people today so confused!?!?

Anyway, I also thought this was an interesting scripture since the Identity of the Messiah was such an issue at this time. The demons knew who he was, and verbalized it so no doubt on lookers heard. Yet so many failed to identify the Christ. Hmmmm.

Progression comes from doing whatever our Lord asks us to do. Mary's response at the wedding in Cana was, "Whatever he asks you to do, do it..." Isaiah says, if you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the fruit of the land. Obedience and willingness must go together if we must receive any of His promises as our inheritance.

Because They Are Yet To Know The Power Of The Holy Spirit.
  • Lawrence on Mark 3 - 12 years ago
I love that Jesus chose the twelve to be "with Him" first of all. We often get out trying to solve the problems of the world and the difficult sayings of Scripture without first of all learning to be "with Him." All of our questions and understanding must come from that 'alone' time with Him where He can examine us and show us our motivations and deal with our self sufficiency.

Well it states that all sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men. Which we are allowed forgiveness of God through his gift the holy ghost. We were given his gift because we were created in flesh. So it was shown through Jesus born flesh through the holy spirit. We are the sons of men who were granted the gift from the father of the spirit. The holy ghost (spirit) is the gift to be forgiven. And whosoever argues that this is not God’s way must not truly believe. That is the gift that was given. Because for whatever reason you will take the doctrine to believe it as man teaches the doctrine of God’s word. Judge ye not brethren. For only God can judge and if you deny the power of the gift, then you are subject to eternal danger of not receiving the Father’s love that he gave his only begotten son. We are the sons of men and we received the spirit. And to not accept the gift is blaspheme. Love you all.

On verse 29, the key to understanding that verse 29 is found in verse 30.
Jesus is speaking to the Scribes (verse 22) who have just accused Jesus of casting out devils by Beelzebub (lord of the flies). Verse 23, all sins can be forgiven except blaspheme (against) the holy ghost. They (Scribes) said, he (Jesus) hath (Present tense) an unclean spirit. The scribes just accused Jesus to his face (who is the holy ghost) of being an unclean spirit. A person can only commit blaspheme in two ways.
    1. Accuse Jesus to his face of having an unclean spirit (which is not possible);
    2. Or rejection of the holy ghost (salvation) when it is available and offered to you ( II Corinthians 6:1-2). Hosanna = save us now!

I hear and understand what being said. But what gets my is why did they change the names in the Bible? ACTS chapter 4 verse 12 neither is there a name giving under Heaven among men whereby we must be save. that name can't be jesus! i've read and researched Maryam was her name not mary.she was a hebrew. we must ask ourselves why would the malak come down and give her a latin or greek name for her child? and we also no the letter J wasn't in the alphet and if they called him Joshua in the old why not call him Joshua in the new? what do we get when we call upon jesus and we do most christain worship him? be it anyone can show unto me in the text where he said to worship him or to call him god. why do we think the Father is the son when he said I come in my Father's name YHWH i've ask a many i which i believe i know the answers just want to hear what other's have to say.

Only sin not forgiven is blasphemy speaking against the HolySpirit and who is my mother my brother and my sister he says it plainly those that do the will of my Father
  • David on Mark 3 - 13 years ago
I find this very encouraging as Jesus himself calls us his brothers. I have what would seem to me a heavy trile at the mom, ent, but I know that is nothing as Jesus will take care of it. He is my older brother. Sa for the sin against the Holy Spirit, it is nothing more that a refusal to listen to his voice when you are pursuing a wrong course, such as Pharoh of Egypt when he refused to let the children of Iseral go. God bless all who wish to take the time to read this.

I had a really hard times in my life and when God decided he showed me Jesus. But it was not a miracle nor an emty words I read here but the hard reading of the Bible. So I ask here directly: In some versions of the Holy Bible the word GOD appears in the verse Mk 3:28, that is a fact that nobody can deny and is there anybody who can explain me Mk 3:28-29 because I see it as a very important point in building of my picture of the teaching of Jesus. I'm just asking. God bless you all.
  • Alexander Christian on Mark 3 - 13 years ago
I'll be back here soon, but what I can say right now is that we ARE living in (somehow) pre-Christian times, according to every thing one can see around. Blasphemy against the holy Spirit obviously testifies a heavier wickedness of someone's heart, it is a kind of provocation which overwhelm obscured evil doers and make them plain to be seen. I'll be back these days...

Here I see comments about Mary's wickedness (Mk3:21, Lk 2:35). I prefer and suggest Mk 3:35
" For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother."
In my opinion Mary, mother of Jesus, has undeserved fame in many churches. That is a fact I do not understand, only as a relict from the prechristian times. Otherwise that fame has no base in Gospels at all.
P.S. I do not mean to disturb anybodys faith.
    God bless you.

Me again. This subject I can not leave unsolved. So I call everyone who knows something about it to help me. This is the point: in some versions of the Holy Byble Mark 3:28,29 goes something like this: every sin of the son of men will be forgiven, even the blasphemy on God soever it is, but the blasphemy on the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven neither on this nor on the other world. So I call everyone who knows something about this to give a comment. God bless you all.

In KJV Mark 3:28 something is definitly missing. And that missing phrase can completely change someones vision of what Jesus is teaching us. It is good to have a complete picture.
  • Michael Lydon on Mark 3:21 - 13 years ago
Iudge not. Speak of "heathens" who have "wickedness" and ask yourself to bear what's in your own heart. Are you describing the action? If so, then strengthen the that proper discernment between good and evil and carry forth to bear good. Be careful in how you proceed, however, lest your discernment be taken as iudgment, strengthening the evil you seek to point out.

Or, if the heathen is cast outside as evil, are you not saying that "The table of the Lord is contemptible"?

    God is Grace.
  • Alexander Christian on Mark 3:21 - 13 years ago
This is an evidence of Mary's wickedness, also according to the verse Lk 2:35; a detail completely hidden and neglected by heathens today.
  • Lloyd Martin on Mark 3:11 - 14 years ago
If unclean spirits(demons)knew and admit that Jesus is the "son of God" Why do churches teach that he is God the Almighty, mixed up into some unfounded doctrines of the Trinity!. Jesus admitted that the father is greater than him, the earlier Christians knew he was not God Almighty but the son of God. See Matt.16:15-17. Even the Catholic Encyclopaedia admitted to the fallacy of this teaching where it states that "the formulation one God in three persons was not solidly established, certainly not fully assimilated into Christian life and its profession of faith, prior to the end of the 4th. century". The truth is abundantly clear THE TRINITARIAN DOCTRINE IS FALSE. Remember demons know this and accept this. Dont be fooled anymore by this false and even demonic teaching.

I looked around the web and don't see any Bible version that has Mark 3:36-41. What translation have you seen it in?
  • Prodigy on Mark 3 - 14 years ago
Can someone post the omitted verses here? My King James Bible doesn't have it either.
  • Donna on Mark 3 - 15 years ago
My King james version has those ommitted verses 36-41, and so does the greek interlinear.
  • Trent on Mark 3 - 15 years ago

  • Anonymous on Mark 3 - 15 years ago
